We have run out of space so thought I would start a new thread.

Pavlov-hope you are OK today hun.

kayzed-well done to Roshi

Gave Sophie some SMA (5oz but she only glugged 3oz ish down) she zonked out immediatedly on her gym mat. Poor girl must have been starving the way she uh, uh, uh when she saw the beaker.

Mum and dad coming in a mo. Dad is tiling and mum and I are going to paint the ceiling. DH doesn't know so watch out for me on the relationships thread later.

Bloss-get you on the homepage! How do you do tips?

Better go-love to all and will catch up later.

kayzed-hugs to you too hon. Think I would go private despite what DH said. You need to know don't you?

Must say I suspect Sophie suddenly stopping BF might have affected me more than I thought.

HC- so sorry about DH's friend. Try not to add it to your load, easier said than done I know. Under the Tip of the Day is a link saying "Send a tip", click on that to send all pearls of wisdom....glad ADs seem to be helping depsite the "fug"....

Re bedroom tips - Dh would laugh his socks off if I presumed to give such advice. All I can say is get it while you can, never look a gift horse in the mouth, and once you get going it's amazing what you can manage when 5 seconds ago you thought you'd fall asleep in the dishwasher....Sex for me is so much better after two kids, sensation wise, weird eh? Sorry if TMI.

KZ - doesn't surprise me at all that you have ordered a lamp, I was wondering what you were doing to speed up possible diagnoses, I knew you wouldn't be just waiting....I second the emotional outburst in front of DH, might shake him up a bit - don't want to upset him I know, but he needs to "get" how deeply worried about this you are...

Look! It's 10.16pm and I'm still up! Wowzers. Have just watched "The Holiday", load of old chickflick shite but I still enjoyed it. Dh just back from fishing.

Right,bed for me, big kisses.

Sleep ? ah yes, temper tantrums. I?m pretty sure Aidan is starting with these already as well (which I?m not surprised about given what I put my parents through so I?m told). It?s just as you describe ? he stiffens his whole body, arches his back and screams blue murder. It is impossible to sit him down at all when he?s like that as he will fall straight backwards, which makes things ten times worse as you can imagine. Oh god, the terrible twos at nine/ten months ? gawd help us!

Bloss ? so you leave him to whinge then? I think maybe I need to try that with Aidan, but of course once I?m awake I feel guilty leaving him. KZ - once even hears us there?s no going back so I daren?t go in and then try to leave him again. I do wonder whether his sleeping bag frustrates him once he?s awake. Perhaps he?ll be better when he can pull himself up to sitting ? I hope so!

And KZ, I?m thinking of you at the moment. There seems to be no end to the things you have to deal with. I think you should keep trying to persuade your DH to go private for your DS. Otherwise you?re going to send yourself mad. (((hugs)))

sohappyicouldcry · 02/05/2007 22:56

God, I am so rubbish at keeping up to date on here, and by the time I manage to log on, there's 40,000 new messages !!!!

Just a quickie before I go to bed (will try to post some personal answers tomorrow night when DH is at work and I have more time) !

Is my DD the only one with no teeth still ???? Please put my mind at rest that she's isn't the only gummy bear around, and that she won't need to get a set of falsies !!!

Night girls, sleep well, fingers crossed for a full night..... xx

FirstAtForty · 02/05/2007 23:11

Hi All
Well I?m hopelessly behind again, have a few notes from about 3 weeks ago, so sorry if this is a bit of a mix and match

Pavlov ? Hope you?re feeling a bit better ? I had forgotten how recently it was that you lost your mum You are doing amazingly considering all you have had on your plate. Completely justified in having some time off work imo, hope you are having some lovely times with DD - and those are gorgeous pics

Kayzed ? hugs, hope you can get some info soon, agree that your DH maybe needs to appreciate more how you?re feeling. Dreadful that the dermo appt may take so long to come through. Btw that?s soooo weird re your brother

HC ? glad you are feeling a bit more relaxed with Emma, that?s great Agree with KZ that you need to give it a bit of time, take it easy and don?t be hard on yourself.

Us ? glad things are a bit better with you and DP, Zack sounds like he?s doing brilliantly Though you must still be absolutely knackered if you?re up and typing at 5.30am

Bloss ? you go girl Loving your posts as always

Wallace ? hurrah for Leo and his loverly tooth!

Annie - Good news re the injection, hope all goes well And long may your job allow you to MN! There were loads of pregnant women in town when I last went, maybe it?s the hotter weather and less clothes making it more obvious or something.

Feel very ambivalent about having another myself, would be lovely for Emma to have a sibling especially as we?re both so ancient, but I really wouldn?t relish being pg again. Anyway at my age I may have no choice in the matter!

Re clothing (was it Pavlov who was talking about HC outfits?) Emma has a white footless HC sleepsuit which she was given when she was born, she?s only just grown into it ? vv cute! DP calls it her Elvis suit. I?ve sorted some photos, will have a go at posting them tomorrow. Things are okay here, still screeching but eating like a horse so that?s good. May go and get her weighed on Friday. Am feeling very dubious now about the soya formula after reading up on it a bit more, so am only giving her little bits. She has cut right down on the bf, really only takes a morning and bedtime feed now, any other attempts are a waste of time. Work is grim, grrrr.

Well I?d better stop now as I seem to have produced another essay, have good nights all xxxx

Hi, I've not posted on here before but my DS (Luke) was born in July 06 so I thought I'd say hello. It's really interesting reading all your posts and sohappyicouldcry, don't worry ds doesn't have any teeth either. I was told that the later they come the stronger they are.
I'll keep reading these posts with interest and look forward to reading ideas about first birthdays as their not far off now!

Beadmum · 03/05/2007 09:49

me again forgot id wanted to ask is there any other lo's who are drinking well from a cup, charlotte seems to only take a sip or 2 if that. Know she not dehydrating as she still has 2 bottles a day but wondering when she'll start to drink better. Thanks xx

IamBlossom · 03/05/2007 13:48

Welcome MrsDux!

Bead - Toby plays with his Tommy Tippee, sucks noisily from it and then gobs most of it down his bib. I have to double bib him, he is soooooo messy. I remember H didn't drink anything but milk realy for his first year.

Gorge gorge gorge day here, it really has been magnificent in Hampshire this week, wandered round town, and then took the boys to the playground and then lunch with my sister. Our other sister got married in las Vegas (second time) this week, so we were looking at the pictures, looks like fun.

Got some girlfriends with their PFBs here this avo.

Am lighter than pre-preg!! F**K knows how, I am hungry all the time!

Right, gotta get a Sex in the City in before boys wake up, bye.

JeanieG · 03/05/2007 14:13

Hi Girls,

I have had an Abbey free day yesterday as she slept over at MIL's and I don't have to pick her up until 6pm. It has been lovely. She is soooooo clingy at the moment and I can't move more than two steps from her before she starts screaming. It was really getting me down, so have enjoyed my little break. My house has been ckeaned, my washing is done, ironing done and I even managed to get a shower and dressed this morning before 9am, bloody fab.

Whoever was asking about teeth, Abbey still has none either.

KZ- You have a lot on your plate hun and try not to worry about DS, these things just make our little men just that bit more special. RE- Ross and school, he is doing well in class. He got 40/40 in his most recent maths test (practise SAT's), although he is a bit of a whizz at maths. When he was last assessed at 8.5, he had a maths and reading age of 15. It is just the rest of the curriculum that causes problems as he doesn't see the point in doing most of the work (i.e comprehension), so simply doesn't do it. Nightmare!!

Bloss- Well done on your new found fame and you skinny cow!! I still have 2lb to lose till I am back to my pre preg weight, although my body definately doesn't look the same as it did.

HC- How ya feeling today lovely?

Pav- saw your other thread and just to let you know I understand how you are feeling completely. Our mum's both died of the same thing at very similar ages and dates. Thinking of you.

Hiya to everyone I have missed- will post more later as I am freeeeeeeee all day.

Love to all
Jeanie

Lysettes · 03/05/2007 15:24

HC agree with others try not to add your dh's friends death to your load keep going with the ad's they will help although if they keep making you feel fuzzy maybe take them at night when fuzzy isn't such an issue - certainly helped with me when mine did the same thing.

kz googling indeed can be a double edged sword but totally agree you sometimes need a bit of self diagnosis (or my medical training as DH always jokes when i self diagnose!)

bloss totally you skinny thing! i am slightly lighter than pre preg but my bod looks really flabby still! and 4 times a week at the gym is doing nothing to change that

i resigned from work today and it went a whole lot better than i thought it would! boss was really good and said to stay in touch and have a coffee with him next time i'm in the city. also they are probably coming to jacob's party too.

any ideas anyone on parties? we are just going to have a bbq through the afternoon as there are not too many babies, just young children and they can run around and wear themselves out! and lots of booze for the adults as there will be a fair few without lo's. should i theme it???? do i need special activities for the children as most of them know each other already???

Lysettes · 03/05/2007 17:47

hi cori!

pretty good! how are you doing? how is the lo?

numptysmummy · 03/05/2007 18:29

Hi! New here, have 4 kids, youngest was born 16-7-06, called Ella. She has 4 teeth, crawling, cruising,NOT sleeping, not on bottle but taking a beaker for her juice. Mine all got on well with a straw before a beaker if thats any help.

sohappyicouldcry · 03/05/2007 18:50

welcome numptysmummy.... my dd was born on 17th July, so just 1 day younger than yours. She hasn't any teeth yet but is crawling, cruising and every now & again lets go completely, realises and sits down quickly !! She is thankfully sleeping ok now, although we're still battling naps in the day.

Still not managed to read other messages, sorry !! Takes soooooo long !

IamBlossom · 03/05/2007 19:48

ooooh look two newbies in one day! Welcome NumptysMummy! I love the name Ella.

Jeanie - how lovely to have some time to yourself. I bet you feel brill.

Guys - let's get some persepctive here - I am 9 stone 1 and VERY flabby. I was talking weight here, not wobble...KZ - I remember you being realy light after Roshi....what have you been eating!! IIRC, it's been creeping on without you being bad, have you investigated why??? BTW, can I please have your email address?

Lyesttes - Well done you on your resignation. Still got that dubious pleasure to come. The company I worked for have been bought since I left by a huge conglomerate (HP) and the job I had/people I worked with have all gone. There is no way I am going back to god knows what, but it's interesting to wonder what exactly life would be like as a Sales person for that company....bloody stressful I expect, no thanks.

Much more important things to worry about, like when to go shopping for our dinner party Saturday night, how H will behave on our weekly walk with the girls tomorrow, whether I should cook fish for Toby again when it maks him smell so bad, etc.

be back on later to catch up with evening traffic ( I have an addictive personality btw, which is why i do MN every morning and every night, how sad i am...)

SleepIsForTheWeak · 03/05/2007 19:49

SIGH

had a great day, great dinner - he ate a WHOLE big jar of food (tuna and red pepper), and a whole yoghurt, and half a bottle after his bath. SO I thought "excellent" Maybe it is a new beginning for us." Nice full tummy = good sleep, no?
I should have left it at that. Gave him the other half of the bottle before putting him in his cot, he guzzled it and then promptly threw it all up over himself, his bedding and me!
AND, as if smelling of tuna and milk wasn't enough, I have no wine!

humpf!

Lysettes · 03/05/2007 20:13

bloos - 9 stone 1 and you reckon there's an issue???? I am 11st7!

sleep - i too have no wine, although we have a bottle of semi sparkling dessert wine which isn't even a quarter as bad as it sounds so i may have to hit that! can't believe we have no other booze though...

welcome newbies!

can anyone remind me if their lo's are 14 july babies like jacob?

he's learning a little more balance when standing but no cruising yet. shuffling himself around well though!

must go the bill's bakc on - i'm so sad!

Wallace · 03/05/2007 20:54

Welcome to MrsDux and Luke - my ds1 shares Lukes birthday

Welocme to numptysmummy. Four kids must be hard work! How old are the others?

KZ - good luck talking to your dh. Lol about Leo preparing tea and feeding us

bloss - love the bedroom tip, you must be superwoman!

twinkle - re tantrums, I remember having to try to bend my ds1 into a pushchair using a knee in his tummy, when he was this age Mind you, he was a wonderful 2 year old

sohappyicouldcry - hope you got your nights sleep!

first - got those elvis photos yet?!

sleep - hangover better?

Beadmum - gosh you've just reminded me that now Leo has finally got a tooth, I will have to start brushing it, oh no Leo drinks well from a cup, but only water. And loves spitting it out.

JeanieG - it was supposed to be a break, what did you go and do the housework for?! It is so much quicker doing housework without a baby around, isn't it?

Lysettes - glad the resignation went well. You're planning Jacob's party already! Wow

Now, I know all your babies are cute, but sorry, Leo must be the cutest Here is the evidence:

  1. I had him in my new wraparound sling on my back when I was preparing supper. I felt him grab something off the counter, turned and looked at him and he was wearing the sieve upside-down on his head He was chuckling away!
  1. At lunchtime he was eating an apple. He was wearing one of those tomeetipee Pelican bibs, and the apple got stcuk in the pouch bit at the bottom, and he couldn't pick it up. So he lifted the bib up, and the apple slid into his waiting open mouth

As for me, I've decide that I would like to be fitter, so I am going to be doing a half-marathon in october! Started training this week. I am training for a 5k run first (8 week course) then will step up a gear
