Lizzzombie · 26/04/2007 08:32

Goodluck Laughalot. That sounds very scary.
Of course I ate the chocolate this morning. Everyone knows chocolate tastes better in the morning...its like xmas!

RGee · 26/04/2007 08:37

Morning all. Hope you had a good night! Well, I know you didn't LTH, but pmsl at the spilt milk. At least they weren't crying over it

I had my worse night in ages last night. You're not going to believe this but we were woken up at 2.37 am by banging. At first I thought Pippa was hitting her legs against the cot, but soon realised it was coming from downstairs. Dh an I went down to see our pesky cat with yet another mouse chasing it round the house (btw I was not wearing anything so said mouse could not get a 'leg up' my pj's this time). After DH, one cat and I trying to capture said mouse (whilst the other cat looked on in mild amusement), it found a safe place behind the big fridge freezer where none of us can get to. So as far as I'm aware it's still there. Especially as when I came donwstairs this morning, the cat came into the kitchen and sat looking at the fridge. It's the third mouse in the same number of days ffs (casualty figures read one dead, one rescued, one missing in action...). Then it took me over an hour to get back to sleep again. Sigh.

Lizz - it is very kind of you to do the market research on our behalf. I keep seeing them advertised at the start of Coronation St and am sooo tempted. Will go out to buy, but not eat until I'm on MN just to describe the pleasure sensation!!

Kat - am enjoying your thread of the day but can't believe the nerve of asking for vouchers! Keep us informed of what happens!

LL - love the picture of L. Very very cute!

EAH - pmsl at Ellie asking if the builder was called Bob! Are you having anything exciting done to your driveway?

Nemo - hope aptimel is going well. We're still on SMA but not entirely convinced. She's goine from doing 1 poo to 2 poos a day. How inconsiderate is that!!

UD - hope your night was much better last night. Did you have any joy with the car? And hope DH feels a little better today.

2Happy - how was the big bed last night?

Hey does anyone know if Mrs Carrot is having a honeymoon or will she be back on MN today with the photos?

We've got third jabs later this morning, so catch up with you later.

ellieandhattie · 26/04/2007 08:44

Laughalot you brave lady (now if ONLY you lived close I could drop my two off and then that would be fun especially aiden and ellie in destruction mode together!)

All ready for pre school run at 9.15, Ellie currently showing the men doing the drive her lunchbox and school tshirt and they are being very sweet and playing along with her. They have just put all the sand down so now she thinks its going to be a huge sandpit for her to play in!!!!!

Lizz thanks for the choclate scientific test, I am sure it must have been a very hard task for you (will be going out later to get some)

LTH - not long till its school time and some peace for you

I have got to ring my HR department this morning as the rest of the people in my branch got a bonus in their pay yesterday but i didnt its nearly £150 for my hours so going to ring and find out why, I have looked on DTI website and it appears bonuses are a bit of a grey area whilst on maternity leave and they can say I wasnt entitled to it because the bonus was based on sales acheived Jan to March and because I asnt there I couldnt contribute towards sales, it does say you can appeal under the sex discrimination act but I dont want to rock the boat to much as love my job and the hours suit so will see what they say. On a good note I won £100 vouchers for my sales in December they have been sitting in the safe since February noone remembered to tell me so collected them yesterday

ellieandhattie · 26/04/2007 08:46

rgee x post - am having drive block paved, if I am really sad will take pic later of the front of house with my new door and driveway

RGee · 26/04/2007 08:51

EAH - it is so kind of Laughalot to look after all our lo's isn't it. Am bringing Pippa round after her jabs.....

ellieandhattie · 26/04/2007 08:52

Rgee where do you fancy going on our child free morning then?

laughalot · 26/04/2007 08:53

laughalot · 26/04/2007 09:07

Is the pope a catholic ? OF COURSE !!!!!

I have my supplies ready

  1. Ear plugs
  2. Calpol
  3. Nurofen - for the older ones
  4. Cbeebies- all day
  5. Rope- to tie them up
  6. A gun in case all else fails
theUrbanDryad · 26/04/2007 09:20

well we had a great night here - Z went from 8pm-8am with a 5:30 feed. was woken by dh's alarm this morning and rushed over to the cot as i was convinced that he'd either escaped or died! but he was just there, sparked out, cuddling his decapitated dog. man, that thing gives me the creeps...

well, looks like we will scrap the car. am really at the place where it's being stored, looks like they want to do the salvage as it's a good one - the car itself is fine, but it's not roadworthy. they said if we want to take it away we have to pay £18 a day storage costs since friday. fuckers.

Dh is off to his godfather's funeral this evening - he's driving down tonight and coming back tomorrow. i have to sort out his suit for him (cheeky beggar wants me to polish his black boots!!) and print off some photos of Dh, his godfather and Zac for him.

anyway, no time for personals. i have to get to the doc's for a repeat prescription of my pill and to discuss my piles (EAH - how's Hattie now??) nice

ttfn!! xoxoxox

Nemo2007 · 26/04/2007 09:38

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDD MOOOOOORRRRRRRRNNIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGg

I feel fab, Chloe only woke up once, drained another 4ozs and went back to sleep. I am convinced she only woke up because Hannah decided 2am was the time to come into mummy and daddys room and sing to them. So gave Chloe a feed, tried to get H back to bed with little luck as she kept coming back in, in a lovely mood mind but it was blooming 2.30am by then..lol Yet I still got more sleep than I have been doing so I am happy. Got to pack today for our FREE weekend away so am semi writing a list while on here.

LTH nightmare night for you hope you get some rest today. Also glad AF has decided to go easy, mine is usually bad for about 48hrs then goes like what I can only imagine is a normal AF.

EAH bless ellie and her bob the builder, DS does that aswell he thinks every builder is called bob.Have fun spending your vouchers

Laughalot mmmmmmmmmmmm morning chocolate I want some now!!!! Good luck and god speed for today...although that is my day all the time and it isnt as bad as you think it will be

UD bless Z sleeping so long. Hope you have a good day

Nemo2007 · 26/04/2007 09:40

Rgee sorry missed you out..ewww about the mouse though...bleugh thats why we dont have a cat!!!

katwith3kittens · 26/04/2007 09:59

Rgee - loving the mice stories, at least its nor rabbits they are bringing back in. Thats what our cat used to do when I was a child, or there would be headless ones out in the garden

UD - sorry about the car, but at least everyone is OK. You must remember to take the tax disc off the car if you are leaving it / scrapping it as anyone can reclaim the money on it at a post office. This happened to me many years ago and I was very cross. Still am now come to think of it.

My God there are some horror stories about AF's. Makes me feel glad I'm BF still.

Getting a bit scared about my other thread as I should have changed my name as I'm so obvious (name starts with kat and i've got 3 kids) other mum is a scary lawyer type (do you think I coukld get sued ) one saving grace is that I put he is going to be 6 when in fact he will be 7 (god, my brain is really turning to mush if I cant remember my childrens ages !) Found out she wants a £200 basketball stand thing now, but at least I've got the other mum to share presents.

DS2 injection lump has gone down now. Cant remember who posted about delaying injections, but I've never heard of anyone doing that for more than a week or 2. Its all to do with the length of time a baby has a natural immunity to those diseases which is inherited from its mum in the womb or by BF. If you've taken the decision to immunise then I would try and do it at the recommended times to prevent them catching something nasty.

katwith3kittens · 26/04/2007 10:01

Oooh Nemo, whats your free weekend away then ?

JodieG1 · 26/04/2007 10:05

Morning all, no time for personals at the mo, sorry. Had a good night with Ethan, he slept from 8pm-5am, woke 4 times to feed but went back to sleep after each one Not enjoying being without dh but am too busy to care too much hehe.

Dd had her first ballet class after school yesterday which she loved so now we need to buy all the uniform next week. She isn't coping well without daddy though, tears for ages last night as she wanted to give him a kiss and a cuddle and the same this morning
She spoke to him on the phone and I showed her on the map where he is but she's really missing him. She didn't want to go to school but I thought her being there would take her mind off it more.

Decided to start potty training ds1 again, he's 3.6 now and it's been going well. Started on Monday and yesterday he only had 2 accidents He was off pre-school Mon-Wed so I could get him used to the potty but he's going today so fingers crossed for him.

Will try and post more later and catch up with everyone.

Nemo2007 · 26/04/2007 10:07

Was asked by babywebsite to product test a luxury cottage in Angelsey for a long weekend. They wanted someone who had toddler and baby of course we fit the bill with 3 under 3.6yrs..lol Basically I have to write a review of the cottage as they are specifically for families with young children so they provide all basics like a steriliser, stairgates etc and are supposed to be completely child, toddler and baby friendly. We will be the first people to have stayed in it and apparently it has a HOT TUB!!!!

Lizzzombie · 26/04/2007 10:18

OMG Nemo - you are going to have such a fab time! Hope you are taking some bubbly to fuel the bubbles in your hot tub! I am so greeen...off to enter lots of competitions now!

Nemo2007 · 26/04/2007 10:28

Lizz it wasnt a competition..lol To be honest>was getting a bit fed up of all the bitching on MN generally so was trying to find somewhere else which is how I came across thebabywebsite. They have a product testing section where they have freebies to try out but this one is the biggest so far. Although they have just done another cottage in devon aswell.

katwith3kittens · 26/04/2007 10:30

FAB !!! Enjoy yourselves.

Lizz, word of caution tho if you enter loads of competitions you could end up being innundated with loads of junk mail.

Thats reminded me, I signed up for that junior magazine thats advertised on the home page ages ago, but havent seen it yet. Anyone else got a copy yet ?

Lizzzombie · 26/04/2007 11:05

I get so much junk mail already - I dont care, I like getting post! Plus, as we live in flats it doesnt matter, anything I dont want, I leave with the big pile of it and the postman takes it back again!
I got a free manicure set from Persil the other day...have no idea when I sent off for that one! And a free scoop for my ready break also...ok, I admit it - I have a problem with freebies!

RGee · 26/04/2007 12:32

Hi again. Just back from the jabs. Poor love...everyone in the waiting room knew when the needle went in . But not all bad - she's asleep now!! I haven't had to give calpol at any of her other jabs so fingers crossed she'll be ok again today.

Kat - I was just thinking about Junior magazine when the post didn't bring me anything exciting this morning. No junk mail etiher! I rang up for it, probably about 3 weeks ago, and they told me it should be with me within 10 working days, so I reckon we're past that now. Did wonder if they were hanging on for a new edition, which I presume comes out any day now. Did you also ssign up for the 3 issues for a pound after the free one? I did, and hope I remember to cancel so I don't get charged for issue number 5!

Lizz - I love competitions and freebies too! When I was first went on mat leave, to keep me entertained before lo was born, I decided to enter every competition I saw which just required you to send an answer on a postcard type (none of these ringing up ones). Anyway, when Pippa was 5 days old, the postman brought a big parcel with a fifty quid spa voucher, champagne, candle and eye mask. DH and I spent ages working out which nice person had sent me this as congrats for having a baby, but it turned out I'd won a comp in our local freebie paper! Not bad for the price of a stamp.

Nemo - great night!! Have a fab weekend - I look forward to reading the review

Jodie - hope you're doing ok without DH. You must be knackered! Ahhh to lo having her first ballet lesson. Keep threatening DH with ballet for our lo when she's older (I did ballet for over 10 years, but am a complete fairy elephant), but DH wants her to go to football training

Gonna have to disappear. There's stirrings from the pushchair.

LadyTophamHatt · 26/04/2007 12:58

FFS, coming out of P&T group the tap was turned back on.
I had to walk with arse cheeks clenched to stop it pouring down my legs.

How nice!

slowed down again now though....

Thought it would be agood idea to walk there again...why don't I remebetr I've had a crp night sleep when I think of these things?
Had to do some shopping after too, so I had George on the buggy, Ds3 on the buggy board and the buggy laddened with shopping (14 pints of milk, and about 24 yoghurts among other things, justto give you an idea of how much).
I am shagged!

2Happy · 26/04/2007 13:21

PMSL RGee - after the horses stuff a bit ago I know have a mental image of horses doing ballet! It's only cos I am so sleep deprived! Actually - I evilly put ds1 into his chilminder this am and went to bed. Thought I'd grab n hour's snooze then get up and do housework. I woke up at 12.30!!! At least ds2 has finished his growth spurt now, though i have tits like boulders!

Jodie - hope you're surviving on your own. Awwwwww at the ballet, nothing cuter!

MrsCarrot - where are you? I don't care if you've just got married, I don't even care if you're on honeymoon - if Wilkie can post from IL's and Shimmer can post from HK, come on!!

Kat - was at your thread. I can understand not wanting loads of presents that are tat/duplicates, but in that case I'd just ask for no presents full stop, not have blooming list. I went to a friends dd/s party last year. She'd specified no presents dd has enough, so I didn't take one. Everyone else had . Having kids is such a social conventions minefield!

LTH - your night sounds like mine. I swear I'm oging to invent a strap that goes round ds's head to keep the fecking dummy in his gob, gnrf. Glad the haemorrhage is slowing!

UD - glad you had a good night, well done Z. about the car being scrapped. Hope the funeral goes ok - and hope dh can talk some sense into mil with all the pics of your cutie

RGee - ruddy cats. Ours are bringing rabbits in just now, which is horrid, but at least they are too big to hide behind the furniture!

Nemo - yay on the milk and at the hol, enjoy!

E&H - how's the driveway?? Waiting for the pics!

Laughalot - wow, you are a good friend! Good luck for today!!

Lizzz - mmmm that sounds like gooood chocolate. But I think I'm going to have to start to diet, am getting a bit depressed about my weight now - it's actually gone up. Been eating waaay too much chocolate.

Geordie voiceover: Day Five in the Big Boy's Bed

9.30pm and ds1 has found a new and cunning way to avoid sleeping in the big boy's bed. Having been returned to bed a couple of times, he's mostly spent the evening talking to himself. However, this time he has a surprise weapon in store for Big Mother.

Big Mother: "ds1, have you pooed?!!"
