Clearly I'm feeling nostalgic! Just think, some of them even had heart beats this time last year!!

Nemo - have a fab time, that's really great! I'm sure it'll be lovely

Rgee - thanks I did ballet for years as well and loved it, did loads of comps and exams, also tap and modern dance. Watching her doing it brought back all the memories. I am exhausted actually but not for much longer

LTH - have you seen your gp re the heavy bleeding? I think I read that anything over 1 towel an hour is very heavy and to see someone about it.

2happy - I'm doing ok thanks He's back tomorrow so not long now and he's booked Monday off so we have a nice long weekend.

Ds1 is at pre-school now, hopefully no accidents while he's there.

Lizzzombie · 26/04/2007 14:10

Jodie - I'm jealous, unless I force my baby boy to be a ballerina its never gonna happen. Please post cute ballet pictures up of your little girl!
R-gee - cool freebie. But, just to out do you (can't help myself...) the best competition I won was to the premier of Bridget Jones in NYC! Still trying to outdo myself on that one!
LTH - Def agree with Jodie - more than 1 towel is too heavy for a normal period. We used to call it surfing when we were at school, coz those pads were so big. Obviously I was at school a long long time ago, before wings and ultra absorbancy...When maternity style pads were the norm! And I am sure I can remember my Mum giving me pads with loops when I first started, to use with one of those belts. Oh happy days!

Lizzzombie · 26/04/2007 14:11

LO may never be a ballet dancer, but I so could get him doing line dancing in his fab baby cowboy boots (see photos) they are so cool!

Nemo2007 · 26/04/2007 14:12

ohhh god am all broody now my friend just found out she is pg and due next jan!!!

theUrbanDryad · 26/04/2007 14:23

i'm so glad i'm not the only mental broody one!! Nemo am so of your weekend away.

have a question for all you real nappy users out there - Zac has a bit of a rash on his waistline. it feels likes eczema but i don't think it's troubling him. should i put nappy cream on it? what could be causing it?

Nemo2007 · 26/04/2007 14:26

I would put some sudocrem on it. Could it be the wrap rubbing especially if it has got a little damp.

Also as for being broody would probably be ok if C was my first but there is no way DH would go for a fourth yet,4 under 4.3yrs would be a bit too much for him..pmsl

RGee · 26/04/2007 15:00

Hello again. Feels like Friday today. Don't know why.

UD - great night!! Good work from Z. I know what you mean about the panic when you haven't heard a peep out of them. I don't know, you spend all your time wishing they'd sleep thru, then we all get scared when they do. Madness!! Hope your trip to the doctors is pleasureable, and fingers are not inserted in too uncomfortable of places Am pleased to report my piles seem much better since my trip to Dougie Howser MD.

LTH - not liking the sound of your over-running internal tap. You must be knackered losing all that blood. And here's some advice from Auntie RGee - wherever you are going DON'T WALK!!!! 14 pints of milk and 24 + yoghurts.. bloody hell! It's like you're feeding a family of 4 growing boys or something...oh...you ARE feeding a family of 4 growing boys...

Jodie - any accidents yet? Fingers crossed all still going well.

2Happy - good sleeping!! The housework can wait Except perhaps the changing of ds1 bed sheets...

Lizz - now that is a fab prize ! Did you hobnob with the stars ? Did any of the paparazzi take your photo for Hello magazine as you walked up the red carpet?

EAH - how is the driveqway coming along?

No sign of the mouse yet, dead or alive. And thankfully we've never had rabbits!! At our old house we used to get birds (particularly baby blue tits at this time of year which used to make me ) and I much prefer mice. They cause much less of a mess than birds even when we get decapitated heads. Nice huh!

LadyTophamHatt · 26/04/2007 15:03

the 14 pints of milk lasts about 2-3 days.

I spend my life buying milk.

(organic milk though...I'm a posh bird)

Nemo2007 · 26/04/2007 15:06

LTH we are the same here for milk 6 pints whole milk a day and 4 pints semi every 2

theUrbanDryad · 26/04/2007 16:36

that's what i was getting through when i was pg - bloody heartburn!! thinking about that makes me less keen to go through it all again.

my gp actually really pissed me off. even though i wasn't there to see her about Z, she said "Oh you'll be starting him on solids soon then?" i laughed and said, "Oh no, he's only 16 weeks" thinking she'd mistaken him for an older baby (easilt done as he is a bit of a lump!) and she gave me a funny look and said "Well i weaned mine at this age." then when she was trying to figure out my hayfever medication, she said "How long are you planning to bf for?" so i said "Oh, i dunno....a year or so." she gave me another really funny look and said "You don't have to bf them past 6 months you know." as if it was a sentence i was serving or something!!

i know the opinions on weaning differ greatly, but i wouldn't've thought that a gp would advise a young, new mother to wean at 16 weeks, especially since the Dept of Health and WHO advise waiting till 6months. also, her attitude to my bf-ing really annoyed me, as it's my decision how long to feed for, and nothing to do with her, really.

go on, have a fight now....

RGee · 26/04/2007 17:22

LTH / Nemo - have you thought about getting a cow in the back garden? Would save you having to mow the lawn too

UD - pmsl at your 'helpful' doctor. I think you could have come to see me and I would have been much more helpful (medical training = basic first aid certificate)!

katwith3kittens · 26/04/2007 17:23

Very shocking

and would make me a little bit

You stick to your guns girl ......

Think a lot of GP's are a bit dizzy (and that includes a couple I class as my friends... would hate to go to see them with a problem .. probably be safer to sort it out myself !)

katwith3kittens · 26/04/2007 17:24

or see Rgee come to that .........

Lizzzombie · 26/04/2007 17:26

LTH - 14 pints in 3 days = Tescos delivery in my book!

UD - what hayfever medication did they put you on? Is it working, I have an appt next wk (fat lot of good that'll do me in the mean time!) with the GP re. BF & Hayfever. It makes LO jump in the air every time I sneeze whilst BF!

RGee - No hob nobbing I'm afraid. But was very good. Went to premier in a limo!

theUrbanDryad · 26/04/2007 17:32

meh...what do i need a dr for, i have MN!!!

Lizzz - she didn't put me on anything cause there aren't any meds safe for bf-ers, but you can get a nasal spray over the counter...

ellieandhattie · 26/04/2007 18:06

Well today was not a success at preschool she was all excited about going and when we got there was fine did the whole thing with posting her name and putting hr snack away said I wasgoing was fine gave me a kiss and was running around. Got into town did Boots and one other shop when my mobile went and it was lady at preschool as Ellie got herself in a bit of a tiss, we decided it was probably best that I went back to calm her down (apparently she was inconsalable (sp)) and see what happens. It took me 15 mons to get there and she had calmed down till one of the assistants said mummys here when se burst into tears again, she had packed her little bag all by herself(got her snack box and beaker and the picture she'd done. Managed to calm her down and got her started on some drwing and se was fine as long as she could see me (I sat at the cack of the room) so manager of school and I have decided that on Tuesday I'll stay from 9.30 -9.45ish to settle her and then I'll go back at 11 and stay the last hour and then next thursday I'll sty till 9.45 and go back at 11.15 till shes comfortable doing the whole 2.5 hours. Shes said its really common especially when you have a muc younger sibling as they can feel a bit pushed out/jealous so fingers crossed.

Drive looking great should be finishd tomorrow no time for personals got wind down time for bed catch up later an laughalot thanks for your kind words of encouragement via text this morning much appreciated when I was sitting there !!

Dragonhart · 26/04/2007 19:56

Very about your holiday Nemo! Hope you all have a good time.

UD - I need to see a pic of Z's decapitated dog!!

EAH - sorry E had a bad day at preschool. Sure she will get her confidence back soon. My mum works in a preschool and she says that nearly all the children struggle at the start. Luke would be really jealous of the builders! They are building houses just down the road from us and there are loads of diggers, dumper trucks, tractors and cranes and he gets all twitchy with excitment every time we go past!

Luke was sooooo much better today. Mum took us out in the afternoon (to tescos! Such an exciting life I lead!!!) which seemed to cheer him up.

I have been looking for a climbing frame for him as there are no good parks near us and have found a great one in ELC which has bits yu can add. So if anyone has a ELC discount code, it would be greatly appreciated!!

laughalot · 26/04/2007 20:19

Wow! Thanks EAH. That will save me £53!!!

LadyTophamHatt · 26/04/2007 21:11

Rgee...a cow would be ideal but where would I find te time to milk the bloddy thing??

RGee · 26/04/2007 21:33

Check out this for discount codes . Can't vouch for them all but some may come in handy.

Laughalot - haven't seen the mouse since the early hours but have brought camera downstairs ready for tomorrow's mouse The mice are quite cute really (when alive and not half eaten) so will try take a piccy. Maybe the cat may even oblige with mouse in mouth!! Pippa slept like the proverbial baby this afternoon, bless.

LTH - just stick your cup of tea underneath the cow and pull the udder!!

Lizzzombie · 27/04/2007 08:15

Did anyone else have a major hormonal breakdown when they put their LO's onto formula from BF. We are slowly introducing more formula into his diet, so eventually I will just carry on doing the 6am feed as BF (yes, I am lazy!) but last night I had a huge guilt wave hormonal crying fit. Obviously not enough chocolate!

UD - try and find a local honey producer. That rememedy really works if you can find it. It takes a while to build up the immunity, but a t-spoon a day helps. The only problem is when you go away, you start sneezing again as its different pollen!

I had a very odd dream about LTH last night! LTH - is your husband a dentist? Do you have a huge big house? And is there a zoo near you that only has eggs in it? All very surreal!
