I think I only posted a couple of times on the march 2017 antenatal thread. I posted a lot on the staying posifrickentive after mmc thread - after two miscarriages it was a great support.

I had planned to put a facemask on this evening after removing some facial hair but it’s not happened. I’ve not even looked at the gym class timetable Blush instead I’m lying here watching tv and MN-ing

Just had a mad couple of hours. DF DD at 11:30. She had 4oz. Put her back down she was tossing and turning for about 30 mins, let's out a little "I've lost my dumny" cry so came in gave her her dummy and left, again very unsettled. Cried out again at 1ish this time dummy didn't help, chewing her fingers so put some teething gel on while I went to get the Nurofen, I come back she's sobbing her little heart out. Gave her the Nurofen picked her up so she could come sit with me while she calmed down and the Nurofen took affect. Well sat down and 🤢 sick all over both of us. At this point OH comes in as she is screaming. I'm trying to strip us both off so I can cuddle her as by this point she's almost purple and struggling to keep her breathing rhythm, strip her off OH picks her up to calm her down. So I sort myself out (had to tie up sick covered hair will deal with that later) DD all changed all smiles with possibly an empty stomach. She's now laying on me it took her less than 5 mins to fall asleep.

Hope your LO is ok troodie with you being up

She's sounds really congested now. Want to take her temp but will it give a false reading if she's been sleeping on me in her sleeping bag?

Oh carol hope she feels better

It’s horrible when they are crying and then sick. You see the relief straight away. DS gets so upset being sick as well I have to keep repeating ‘it’s ok it’s alright’ (it’s a little chant we have for when he gets scared of something lol)

Just heard ds up, he was at the bottom of the cot upside down and kinda squashed up so kept banging his head. Just been through and thought might as well feed him so he sleeps till 7.30 now hopefully. Was very happy to see me

Sorry don’t think anyone answered my Q earlier
Do you guys think leaving a comforter in the cot is ok with LO overnight?

DD still unsettled. She just can't get comfy. Still sounds really congested. Currently laying belly to belly on me.

Don't know about a comforter in the cot. She holds them in the car but not really wanted them. She cuddles a muslin in her cot so it's breathable

DDs longest stretch of sleep was 4:20-5:50 without me holding her, the rest of the time she was on me. She cried her heart out at 5:50 so thought she bound to be hungry after being sick. She had 1oz Sad

She's fast asleep now, as soon as I picked her up out of her High chair after her porridge (ate it all) she put her head on my shoulder and dosed off.

Managed to transfer her to sleeping bag and cot

Shower time. Can get the dried sick out of my hair now

Poor dd carol. Hope she feels better soon and you get some rest. Play it by ear for baby sensory. Maybe you could ask if you could swap today’s class for another date?

Carol
You poor things Flowers
A couple of doctors have told me that ibuprofen is good for teething pain as it's an anti-inflammatory, but it's also a bit harder on the tummy so it shouldn't be taken on an empty stomach. Paracetamol is apparently just as good for pain and fever if there's no inflammation, and kinder on the stomach, so I would suggest giving that if she is being sick. Having said that I'm sure either would be ok.
On my ibuprofen box it says you can give it every 6 hours with 3-4 doses every 24 hours if they are 6 months or older. I did give DS 3 doses over 12 hours (i.e. 6 hours apart) as his top teeth are coming through. They haven't cut through yet but I can see they're about to.

We had a mixed night, went like this:
8ish Asleep in cot (later than usual because it took him longer to fall asleep)
9ish Woke upset, suspected pain so topped up ibuprofen, fed and put back in cot
10.30ish Crying and semi awake, DH rocked him and put back in cot
2ish Heard crying on the monitor so went into his room, he was then calm but awake. At that point I couldn't be bothered to sit with him or rock him so I went with the lazy option and brought him into bed to feed him, then put him in the Snuzpod. (I know, I know!)
3.25 Woke upset, topped up ibuprofen and tried rocking but didn't work so ended up feeding him
He was unsettled from then on, often crying but not fully awake, and each time I managed to settle him without feeding or rocking, just cuddled him in the Snuzpod.
6.15 Woke, fed him, he fell asleep in my bed and I left him there, he slept until 8.30!!

So a weird night and I didn't do all the right things but at least it wasn't as disaster... we will put him in his cot again tonight and try leaving him in there for longer. I do think teething must have been a factor in the tough nights lately.

We have a pair of muslin comfort blankets, they are small and breathable. I think whatever you use, a breathable one is a good idea for peace of mind Smile

I haven't given her any meds yet today. Her temp went in one ear but not the other. She had half of her 11:30 fed just before sensory class. Was very quiet in class not her usual self, she had a bit of a lip wobble then snuggled into my shoulder like she wanted to go to sleep. Gave her her lunch (ate all of it) before we came home as I knew she would fall asleep in the car. Transferred her to her cot when we got home.

Ds loves a Muslin to play with but they are quite bag so could get tangled? He’s not really keen on the comforters.

@NameChange30 that sounds like a better night than expected! Particularly the 10.30-2 stretch. Really good.

It’s obviously a bit more difficult with breastfeeding to work out his intake over a 24 hour period. You’ve done really well with it though.

I think you should definitely try settling him in the cot again this evening and each day keep trying till he sleeping in the cot all night Smile

Hello! I'm in France, there is no phone signal, let alone internet where we are staying so have just caught up as we're driving!

DS handled the journey very well and is still happy. Doesn't seem to be feeling the cold as much as me, the house we're staying in is freezing! But DS still happy in his 1.5 tog sleeping bag!

Welcome @hashtagtubechat sorry to hear all you've been through but glad things are improving. Hope you got on ok at your appointment.

Sorry to hear about the sickness, hope all babies and parents are ok now! @Carolann8584 did you make baby sensory? Hope DD is feeling better and you're not too tired.

DS has a comforter all night but when he's not chewing it he throws it to one side.
