coupe yeah we made it to class but she wasn't herself. Very quiet and clingy

coupester · 10/10/2017 14:34

@Carolann8584 oh bless her, I hope she feels better soon

purpleviolet1 · 10/10/2017 14:38

DDs temp is 37.3 now. She's got 1 rosey cheek now, only had 230ml of formula so far today.

She had 5 spoons of Aptamil multi grain and berry mix for breakfast, peas broccoli and potato Ella's pouch for lunch about a 1/3 of the big pouch and she's just had about 20g of baby rice with broccoli and cauliflower puree for tea. Solids she's ok, formula is slipping

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/10/2017 16:48

As they eat more solids the milk will reduce

Glad drive was ok @coup and enjoy holiday

Hello all,

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Delighted to report the cardiology appointment went well today, I mean great news really! The hole in the heart she has is closing down, so much so that if they only saw it now they wouldn't even diagnose it as ASD, just a teeny tiny hole that will close up by itself, no surgery required. I'm so relieved and I could tell the lovely GOSH doctor was really happy to give us the good news. So that's another diagnosis off the list, which is getting much shorter now Halo
Since she was born I was longing for having to deal with just the usual baby stuff and my dd duly delivered today and only took 2 20 minute long cat naps Confused so had to deal with an overtired baby in between the three appointments we had today. Bloods tomorrow and development check up on Thursday and we're hospital free for a little while again.
I hope you all had a reasonably ok day, @Carolann8584 Cake for you

NameChange30 · 10/10/2017 20:16

Thank you purple and Hugh, yes it was a weird night but good that he slept in his cot until 2am. We will persevere and hopefully make it longer. He fell asleep more easily tonight, and I did a Carol and had a cry! I think it was a delayed reaction, last night I had convinced myself it was just a test run but tonight felt more for real 😭😭😭 He turned 7 months today as well and we just can't believe how fast the time is going and how fast he's growing.

Thanks again for the recommendation to talk to the Sleep Lady, I did and she seems lovely, but quoted £150 for a consultation including 4 follow up calls. I don't think we can justify that at the moment so we'll struggle on ourselves for a bit longer and rethink if it's still not working.
FWIW the muslin we have is a "security blanket" one, which is much smaller than a standard muslin so less risk of getting tangled up, plus it has silky edging which DS seems to like. You can also get muslin comforters with teddy things attached... and even breathable teddies (we got one as a present but it has a little rattle inside and I reckon DS would just play with it instead of sleeping Grin)

Good to hear from you, glad the journey went smoothly and DS is happy! Hope the weather is good and you're having a lovely time.

Carol
How was your DD this evening? Hope she's a bit better and went to bed OK.

Yay, that's wonderful news! So happy for you and your DD Smile

Carolann8584 · 10/10/2017 20:29

Thanks ladies. DD very unsettled, gave her granules and Nurofen with her bedtime bottle, she had 7oz out if 8 which was good.

Had to rock her to sleep, she let out little cries every so often. She kept turning her head so she could rub her face and mouth on me, even with her dummy in so it rubbed against her gums.

She went down at 7 which was good but has cries out twice since then

Watching her on the monitor, she so desperately wants to sleep just can't get comfy.

I have a feeling tonight is going to be a long one. Am going to go bed in a min so I can get a few hours undisturbed sleep while OH is still awake.

Carolann8584 · 10/10/2017 20:32

hashtag that's great news Grin

Name I think that's why I cried so much, we decided we were putting her in her room on the Saturday night but ended up putting her in on the Friday so I was upset that I didn't know the last night was going to be the night before.

Carolann8584 · 10/10/2017 20:35

Wouldn't believe 5 mins later she was crying her little heart out with a temp

😍

hashtagtubechat · 10/10/2017 20:46

She's amazing 😍😍

troodiedoo · 10/10/2017 20:54

Aw she's getting so big @carol such a cutie Smile

Great news @hashtag really pleased for you, I'm raising a glass of wine. And hoping we all get a good night!

NameChange30 · 10/10/2017 21:01

I'm feeding DS again Hmm He woke up at the same time as last night, but unlike last night he wasn't due any more ibuprofen as he had some at 7pm. Cried and cried and cried until I gave up and fed him. Seems unlikely he's hungry though since I fed him at bedtime. Cue argument between me and DH who says I should feed him, but wtf else am I supposed to do when he's crying inconsolably?! I don't know how many bloody times I have to spell it out to DH, I am not willing to let DS cry that much. We know he is teething FFS.

Sorry for rant but AAAARRRGGGHHH why do the bloody men make things even harder sometimes?!

NameChange30 · 10/10/2017 21:02

Typo, DH says I shouldn't feed him

troodiedoo · 10/10/2017 21:06

Argh @name I feel you! They mean well, just keep telling yourself that through gritted teeth

purpleviolet1 · 10/10/2017 21:19

@hashtagtubechat so happy to hear the great news! Are you doing anything to celebrate?

@Carolann8584 poor soul but what a cutie !!!

@NameChange30 least you know her fee now and can make an informed decision. You’ve reminded me of a time when ds was barely 6 weeks old or something and dh refused to feed him more than a couple of oz as he would fall asleep straight after and he wanted ds to sleep longer at night had to put my foot down! Men!

I took your advice @HughLauriesStubble and tried a class - it was yoga tonight so I just turned up. It was good, felt all the aches and pains melt away but can’t justify £8.40 a class (was 1.5 hours) for something I can probably follow off YouTube !

It’s kettlercise tomorrow I think I’ll try n go to that. It’s earlier though at 6.30 so it’ll be the first time I miss bedtime and don’t know if I’m ready to do that!

What a difference. After an unsettled start DD slept until 4am after refusing her DF. She had just under 5oz. Had a little trouble settling again but she didn't cry out just kept rolling round her cot to get comfy. Just woke up a very smiley princess Grin

Thanks all - I have to say, I agree with you Hugh that primary caregiver should have the final say. Also if you are breastfeeding it's kind of a "secret weapon" you can use when all else fails, whereas dads don't have that option unfortunately! I do feel for DH when DS won't settle without boob and he has to just hand him over, must be frustrating.

Sorry you're ill Hugh, hang on in there and I hope everyone gets better very soon!

Glad you enjoyed yoga, well done for going! I love yoga but haven't been for ages Sad I recently saw a physio who said I need to work on my abs and pelvic floor (not surprisingly) so I'm thinking about trying postnatal Pilates.

We had a much better night! Apart from the 9pm wake up, DS only woke up twice (00.20 and 03.20). He was then awake for the day at 6.30 but it's much easier to cope with that when you've had a couple of decent chunks of sleep. It's hard dragging myself out of bed to his room but I think we're all sleeping a bit better. I was sleeping so lightly when I could see and hear his every mood. Some of you have been suggesting we move him into his own room for a while now and I think you were right. I guess I just had to get to breaking point before I felt ready... there is a part of me that is actually a bit sad it's helped because it means we should leave him there and not bring him back to our room. I'm such an idiot Grin

NameChange30 · 11/10/2017 09:17

move not mood
