Oh not thought about car seat yet - I think they told us he would be ok in his maxi cosy until 9 months so it wasn’t really on my radar yet.. I did like the look of the ones which rotate.

He just nods off for 5 mins then wakes again. Gave nurofen at midnight and gave calpol just now. I am absolutely exhausted Sad at dm so dh not here and can’t take over Sad

He’s not hysterical just clearly in discomfort. Can’t settle

Carolann8584 · 22/10/2017 03:17

purple same here. Just trying her with a feed. She only had an ounce of her DF and she normally wakes at 4 for a feed. I'm knackered

purpleviolet1 · 22/10/2017 03:43

Hi carol Sad I don’t know what to do but let him scream

OP posts:
purpleviolet1 · 22/10/2017 03:50

I just keep putting the vtech projector on which is distracting him but he is getting so tired now as been up since midnight so think he is only going to settle to sleep with crying Sad

After waking the whole household with hysterical crying finally managed to get him to settle. Sleeping now. 4h 50mins awake time. I’ve not slept at all Sad hopefully manage to get some sleep now

Sorry you had a bad night purple

DD had 3oz of her DF then started playing! So I put her in her cot and went to bed, she cried a couple of times so went back in and put her dummy back in and left again, she must have dozed off coz I did until she cried at 6:50. She looks and sounds shattered

troodiedoo · 22/10/2017 08:52

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/10/2017 10:27

Sorry you had a bad night - dd sleeps but mutters at the moment or the odd squeal but we have a camera and can see she is asleep

Daytime is when she suffers with teeth. Just a bit grumpy. Clingy and off food tho she did eat yesterday and doesn't always want milk and she only has 3 bottles

Daddy did breakie and play this am and I stayed in bed. He said she ate some porridge which is good

Car seats. They say 9kg/20lbs or 9mths. Whichever is sooner. Dd is 21lbs so needs to change but so hard to find a seat we like.

If she is going to be in in till 4 then want It all - rear and forward and swivel as so hard and tiring lifting a heavy toddler into a rear facing

And rear is safest. Seats looking at 300/400

"Car seats. They say 9kg/20lbs or 9mths. Whichever is sooner."

Are you sure about that? It depends on the car seat but I think most of them have a 13kg limit (28 pounds). Your baby can also outgrow it if their head is taller than the shell of the seat (sticking out over the top IYSWIM). But most babies don't outgrow the seat by weight or height until they're older than 9 months.

Carolann8584 · 22/10/2017 10:56

That's what thought name DD was just under 17lb at last weigh in so thought I had loads of use left in her current seat as her head is no where near the top of the seat either.

Still no harm in looking now though she's growing so fast plus will be getting one that grows with her Grin

DD having another nap! Had 45 mins earlier and is now back asleep. No surprise really after waking every 30 mins or so from bedtime she was awake from about 1 til 4ish then up at 6:30. She had a bit of her bottle but then had a bit if a coughing fit so brought it back up and only had half of her porridge

NameChange30 · 22/10/2017 11:06

"A car seat lasts until the child reaches the weight, or the height limit for the seat. As children are all unique, the ages specified on seats should only ever be used as a guideline. The weight and height of a child is the deciding factor.
Most infant car seats available on the market are Group 0+, however, there are still a small number available that are only certified to Group 0. You can find out what group your seat is by locating the R44 sticker on your seat. The sticker will tell you the weight limit for your seat."

:(

Basically from midnight to 8am ds slept 35 mins only. He was hysterical at times and nothing helped Sad toughest night ever. Went to sleep eventually at 8am. Poor ds. Must’ve been very sore as he had nurofen and calpol after 4h (said better to give 6-8 hours but wait at least 4h). There were times he was trying to sleep, silence for 3/4 mins and then crying hysterically again. He was also very sick after a bottle I offered at around 4am so he only really had his bedtime feed at 7pm last night. He did have water after being sick though so should help with hydration.

Really hope we don’t have a repeat. I feeel horrendous. Just going to gently wake him up now and give more pain relief as he was due it around 9/10. Want to keep on top of it.

Oh my goodness purple you poor things Sad Both of you must be exhausted. Can your partner or mum take DS for a bit today while you have a nap?

purpleviolet1 · 22/10/2017 12:13

Yes dh is gonna see to ds when he wakes. Decided to leave ds to wake himself. Felt so bad for him Sad

Poor dm she isn’t mobile yet but hasn’t been able to sleep with her painkillers so she told me to go beside her and she tried helping with ds, played with him etc as to distract him from the pain. It was so unlike him so it must’ve been bothering him a LOT given that the painkillers didn’t work either. Noticed the back of the mouth at top all white.

I feel all over the place now. You know how daytime sleep isn’t quite the same. I’m just going to stay in bed and rest anyway and hopefully will take some night nurse tonight if ds settles well this evening.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/10/2017 12:51

Poor ds and you @purple :(

Dd is tall. Daddy is 6ft4 so feet are almost at end as is head so will need to move soon as also as I said 21kb - but yes depends what car seat says - think the 9kg/9mth is a guide

Thanks for mentioning that Hugh, we have our new patient appt at Doctors tomorrow so will ask him to check..

Hope the doctor can help purple!

Do you have any teething rings? That seems to help my little one a bit during the day. I also have one I put in the fridge. What is interesting is that in these situations it doesn’t matter how the baby is fed because they will wake up anyway!

Last night despite barely napping she slept really well until 6:40am. I hope she will sleep well again tonight!

I heard eight months stage is tough too! It must be absolutely exhausting for mum’s that are back at work.

purpleviolet1 · 22/10/2017 20:19

Hi runamok,

We have teething rings but last night nothing worked Sad I think the fact that he wasn’t in his cot may have contributed also. He slept 8-1pm, then had a 45 min nap at 4.30 and put him down at 7 as usual. He’s had 18oz only today but hopefully he will sleep through....

What’s the 8 month stage 🤔😐😔

Carolann8584 · 22/10/2017 22:13

Thanks ladies.

DD was 10x worse today. It's all in her chest now so she keeps waking herself coughing. Her throat sounds so dry and sore. Went to bed at 6:30 woke every 10 mins coughing then she threw up over both of us 🤢 so changed us both she felt like she was on fire. Settled very quickly after and has slept since, coughed a couple of times, woken once. Wondering whether to give her her DF or not. Last night I gave her her DF and she woke after it until about 4am

NameChange30 · 22/10/2017 22:21

Carol
Sorry your DD is so poorly, hope she is ok tonight and manages to sleep ok.

RunAmok
Belated hello and welcome! I'm not sure I want to know about the 8 month stage, as that's when I'm going back to work Confused

Good luck to everyone for the night ahead. DS is sort of sleeping better but teething keeps messing it up!

purpleviolet1 · 22/10/2017 22:27

Oh no carol hope she feels better soon. Perhaps get the GP to check she doesn’t have an infection? No harm.

@NameChange30 glad things are improving!

Ds thankfully been settled since 7. I’m just going to sleep now. Night all

OP posts:
Carolann8584 · 22/10/2017 22:31

Yeah I'm going to see how she does tonight. Still don't know whether to give DF but if she has a repeat of last night I'll take her to our GP in the morning it's only over the road
