Right ladies this is going to be used as a tip's, questions and answers etc thread for those of us who have had our babies and can't keep up with the chat on the other thread. (my word those ladies can talk)

And of course everyone is welcome to post on here the more advice etc the better.

Dooby, Harry seems to poo all the time, so much so that his poor little bottom was red raw for the first few days of his little life. Bought some fab nappy cream now though and has cleared it up a treat!

Zazas, ROFL at the pooingPoor little mites just cannot be trusted not to poo. Won't be bathing with H as i just said he seems to poo constantly and don't fancy a yellow bath

Well, may I just say that little H has been a star for the past 2 nights. I'm not expecting it to last but last night he fed at 1 then not til 6. DD was fab too as she went to bed at 7 and woke us at 8.20, I know, 8.20!!!!so a very spoilt nights sleep for usThe night before H had a bottle at 10 then not til 5 so just as great. Not sure it'll continue but still 2 nights in a row isn't bad.

Sure tonight will be different as dh is wetting the babys head so it's just me and 2 dc's from 6.30 >

We're off to register our new little one today at 2pm. Then he'll be all official and i can send off the benefit forms to get some much needed cash for him.

Hope eveyone is is well and the baby's are being well behaved

Oh and i'm using infacol with H, used it with dd too and she never had any problems. H's face is a picture when he has it though, totally not impressed by the taste, but then again he is expecting milk

EllieKthePA · 25/04/2007 10:47

that's just freaky Eddas, at 2pm i will also be at the register office!!!!!!!!

octo · 25/04/2007 10:52

Morning all

Ernie does the screech thing sometimes when he needs a poo or has wind - the dreaded colic seems to have passed us by (fingers crossed) and he is much calmer since the osteopath. I use infacol at every feed and that def helps. We had a good night again - went to bed at 9.30 - fed at 11pm, 2am, 6am and back to sleep again (woohoo) until 9am - so seem to be getting into a routine of sorts but not holding my breath!

One thing I wasn't sure of is whether to switch boobs in the middle of feed - up until now he has had one boob and that has been fine but now he is looking for more - do I offer the other one or the same one?

Have trillions of things that need doing but just not getting them done! Going into Bath tomorrow with dh and Ernie to register the birth, choose some diamonds and have nice lunch out somewhere - really loooking forward to it

Will catch up later xxx

EllieKthePA · 25/04/2007 10:58

i've been offering Joe the other one when he wants more Octo x

liath · 25/04/2007 11:20

I've tended to offer the second, Octo especially if he seems to have had a good feed on the first and has got to the slow sucking stage.

Not a bad night here either, think he's lulling me into a false sense of security. I'd forgotten how much newborns sleep!

LOL at the poo, sounds like an interesting bath! Not co-sleeping here, mainly as he seems happy in his carry cot. Slept with dd as a baby as she wouldn't settle on her own. Was inspired by Octo and am in cloth now, the pampers just didn't seem to fit him and were forever leaking.

Haven't seen YvieE for a while - hope all is well and the flood of visitors easing .

peneloperabbit · 25/04/2007 11:21

Liath - the cake didn't work

Sexonknackeredlegs · 25/04/2007 13:37

LuceWheel, how bizarre is that re the birth dates! Hope you feel a little less blue soon. Moving house is very hard, and I cannot imgine what it would be like to try and do so now! Thinking of you.

All ok here. My mw came round and weighed K, and she has only dropped 2 ounces which is good news. She also had her Guthrie test - poor little lamb. She was pretty good about it tho.

Took B to Gym Tots today and all the mums pounced on me! They were v disappointed that I hadn't brought K with me tho!

Got home to find dh workng on his laptop -again. I asked him if he had done anything other than work, and he said "there isn't anything to do"! What about the washing that needs hanging out, more washing that needs putting in, oh and the mountain of ironing that is developing in the spare room.

I am so cross. He just has no initiative.

Rant over.

Need to get on.

xx

runnyhabbit · 25/04/2007 14:07

Hi all

Haven't had chance to catch up properly. Feeling a bit down as dh goes back to work tomorrow I'm glad he's going back middle of the week though, so it won't seem so long 'til the weekend.

Ds2(love writing that) has got a bunged up nose, so is only feeding for a few mins at a time, because he can't breathe, poor lamb. Have tried the tips Pinions mw did (with cotton wool and water) and did get rid of load of gunk, but he's still struggling.

We registered his birth last week, and have to say I nearly filled up when they asked for place of birth. Our home address is now on birth certificate Don't think I will EVER want to move

Take care all
xx

runnyhabbit · 25/04/2007 14:09

Oh, and he has put on 1 whole lb in 12 days Thats over an ounce a day. Considering my norks are of the "poached egg" variety, I'm rather pleased with myself

1becomes3 · 25/04/2007 14:14

I seem to be having a run of bad luck at the moment, poor DD bless her little heart has been admited to hospital as she is very de-hydrated and will not drink, she is on a drip until she starts drinking by herself again.
I have been there all night with the poor love and DH just turned up to relieve me so I can go home and get some rest, my poor boobs are so sore as the they have been stuck in the breast pump so the twins have their milk, lucky my mum has got some time off work so she and my dad can look after them while DD is in hospital.

It is all crazy here, seems like a bad dream, although I know that dd is in the best place for her it is bloody awful seeing her looking so pale and skinny with no energy, she is just lying in the bed not really even moving. really does break my heart to see her like this.

I hope she will be out soon as she gets more hydrated it may give her the energy she needs and make her more willing to drink.

I hope that you are all having a better time of it than I am, and please forgive me if I have missed anything important.

Must go sleep while I can now.

AngeG · 25/04/2007 14:45

Hello ladies,

Have finally made it across to the other side.

Congrats to all of you. Sorry there have been so many I can't keep up!

1becomes3 - Thinking of you all honey. Hope DD gets better soon and comes home.

All ok here with us. Still haven't registered Isobelle's birth must get it done. Can't believe that she is 3 weeks old today!! Where does all the time go.

I have had mastitus so have been on antibiotics for a week, it has really unsettled Izzy, which is a pain because she was really good before, but now seems generally unable to settle on her own and has ended up sleeping in bed with me for the last week.

Love to you all.

Try to get on again later, but Izzy is waking up now. So better go xxx

Sexonknackeredlegs · 25/04/2007 14:46

1b3, I am so sorry you are having such an awful time. Hope you dd is better soon. Thinking of you and sending loads of hugs to you. xx

liath · 25/04/2007 15:29

1b3, so sorry to hear dd is in hospital, poor little lamb. Hope she is on the mend ASAP and sending your way, too - hope you manage to get a bit of rest.

EllieKthePA · 25/04/2007 16:29

stay strong 1b3, it will get better xx

EllieKthePA · 25/04/2007 16:31

runny, i think it must be a boy thing
Joe was 8lbs 7.5oz at birth and 9lb 6oz at his 10 day check

claricebean · 25/04/2007 16:50

Hugs 1b3 - what bad luck. It's awful when they're ill,let alone in hospital. Thanks goodness your mum has taken some time off to help with the DTs. hope you manage to get some rest.

Hugs too to you, Dooby. Not surprised you're feeling a bit weepy at the the thought of DH away when you're not feeling 100% yourself. I was like that when my parents left and my haemorrhoids were just kicking off again. I knew I could cope if I felt OK myself, but as I didn't I just wanted to curl up in bed and cry.

Well things really look on the mend with us at last. DS got the plaster off his leg this morning. He is still too scared to walk on it, but I'm sure in a couple of days he'll be racing around again. DH is home in FOUR days. For good this time. and, touch wood, the haems are under control again.

Congratulations and welcome to postnatal (when you find time to post) to Pesha and Isabelly

eca · 25/04/2007 18:00

hi mummies

octo - my breast feeding counsellor friend said that you should put them back on the same breast so they get the richer hind-milk and not just the thirst-quenching sugary foremilk. But, if they've drunk all the milk in the breast to put them on the other one. I'd do what you feel is best for you xx

1B3 - oh, my poor love. You are doing so well coping with so much. Can't believe dd is so poorly. You must be exhausted. Really thinking of you honey, hang in there and make people step up and help you in everyway they can. xxxx

Luce - hope that having the stitches out wasn't too painful. Moving sounds like hard work at the mo. Hope that you find some people to help you pack/lug boxes etc. You need your rest!!

Hi to everyone else!!

Right got to go. SIL, BIL and dn are here and I need to share my lo with them for a bit!!
