Those with routines,do you plan your day around it, so for example if you're out for the day, will you try and get back in time for naps?

Hugh
You sound like a superhero to me!
Honestly I'm in awe of people who look after more than one young child and get anything done!
(You can so tell I'm a FTM can't you Grin)

Carolann8584 · 19/08/2017 23:07

Yeah, I think more about when DD will be in the car for naps as she always falls asleep. So if we are out or visiting someone I will time going home so if falls into nap time

Hugh
Grin
Yes DH and I were (probably still are) both big procrastinators and man am I regretting all the things I wish I had got done before DS came along (the garden!! but we did quite a bit of decorating while I was pregnant, at least!)

I can see how you build up to it actually, getting more done as you get more into the swing of things... I figure it can't be that hard having more than one, or no one would!

I've always wanted two, and have decided in theory that I'd like a 2-year age gap, but in reality that means TTC again in less than a year, which is frankly terrifying (also how do people even have the energy?! Grin)

coupester · 19/08/2017 23:45

Welcome @Abacha !

My DS only has one guaranteed nap a day and it's in the morning. Kind of annoying because most things like baby groups are in the morning! If we go out then he doesn't get as much sleep and is grumpy so I try to let him have that nap at home as much as possible.

If he has any other naps then that's great, but I have no control over when or how long for! It doesn't happen often if we're out though - it's like there's too much going on and he doesn't want to miss anything!

Carolann8584 · 20/08/2017 09:02

I had a lay in!!! Well 7:30 but I'll take it!

DD woke at just gone 12 for 3oz then 4 for 2oz! She woke at her usual 5:30 took me about 30 mins to get her back to sleep. So still a broken night but I'll take it as progress on the later wake up.

Didn't want her feed this morning she had about 3oz then coughed/projectile vomitted it over both of us

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/08/2017 09:22

I don't mind where dd sleeps as long as she does as not fair to her to not sleep as gets ratty and babies need sleep

99% the 9/10 sleep is at home in cot then we go out to M&T - friends - music etc

Unless seeing a friend further away so will sleep in car when leave at 9ish

If we are out for lunch /the day then dd will sleep in buggy happily

Have done that since day one so happily settles in buggy - friends bed (before rolling) travel cot etc depending where we are

I know she wants sleep 9/10 12.30/1 for hr tho recent been doing 2/2.5 hrs after lunch

Tho also nice if at home that I get to sit and chill and catch up on my trashy tv 😂

Hugh you really do amaze me ! Theoretically I would like another in 2/3 years and I hope I have my stuff together like you do ! I know I have a ten year old and she's tricky in her own way but she does help with baby.
Obviously we are away atm so we are going out in the evenings when DD would usually be in bed . She sleeps in the pram all night while we are out then when we get back I change her bottom , put her in a sleepsuit and she sleeps all night in a travel cot until 6 ! She had 4oz at 6 then went back down until 9 then I gave her breakfast. I think coming away may have broken the awful waking up for milk routine she had got in to ! Well here's to hoping.

Yesterday she was screaming and throwing up a lot and her teeth were really bothering her . I had to use calpol and sachet. She seems better today .

Welcome Abacha how amazing with twins and your feeding !

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/08/2017 12:32

@motherofa. That's fab :)

Do love trashy tv esp ee

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/08/2017 12:34

As in the sleeping not the teething /screaming

Carolann8584 · 20/08/2017 14:41

That's great on the sleeping progress mother

DD had her first baby porridge today Grin she loved it

MotherofA · 20/08/2017 14:46

Haha thanks guys !
That's brilliant Carol Smile

Carolann8584 · 21/08/2017 06:58

Well we were up before the birds today DD woke at 4:10 for feed then fell asleep for about 20 mins and been awake since. Her eyes are pink from her rubbing them to stop herself falling asleep. She screamed at 1 point coz she got her finger stuck in her eyelid!! Ouch

troodiedoo · 21/08/2017 08:39

Morning all Smile dd has been up since 6:30 but slept from midnight so that's the longest stretch I've had for a while. I feel almost refreshed lol.

Ouch Carolann8584! We get the pink eyes too. Think we will give the baby rice a try this week.

Carolann8584 · 21/08/2017 08:56

😣 DD now snoozing after I gave her some Nurofen, not eaten much of her breakfast, head is on fire!! Think it's her teeth. Can't take her temp, I accidentally dropped our digital one in my dogs water bowl at around 4 this morning. Waiting for DD to wake up to go buy a new one. Only have an under the tongue one here and don't think she will keep it in long enough lol!

troodiedoo · 21/08/2017 09:05

Aw poor little mite. You could try it in her armpit? Hope she feels better soon.

Carolann8584 · 21/08/2017 09:27

Thanks will try once she wakes up. Just tried while she's asleep but she's got her arms pinned to her sides need her to... 🙌

purpleviolet1 · 21/08/2017 09:28

Ds had a really unsettled night again. Up every 60-90 mins. Then decided to get up for the day at 4.30am. Eventually got him to sleep but he woke after 40mins. Just managed to put him down now. Feel like I've done a days work already! Sad booked him in for cranial osteopathy as been recommended it for the the severe reflux. They didn't have an appt until next Tuesday Sad

purpleviolet1 · 21/08/2017 09:45

Just hoping we will turn a corner soon. Been googling and some people said it took a good 3-4 weeks to see things start to improve. It's day 14 today.

Sorry having such a rough time. Poor mini purple :(

Horrible when get overtired and so want and need sleep but can't

purpleviolet1 · 21/08/2017 19:10

Thank you - going to do a gentle sleep training/ ditch the dummy to eliminate waking up out of habit/ dummy rather than genuine discomfort and pain.
