Meh it's really draining isn't it !
I got too used to her sleeping through ! I was getting so much done and had energy .

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/08/2017 13:30

Sorry you are having a rough time of it :(

Dd is sleeping well at nights tho does like to cat nap daytime 45m each time - guess can't have both ways

I do believe in sleep breeds sleep and always put down 2hrs after woken up throughout the day. She just can't last any longer

Evening tea - then the 4 b's

bath - book - bottle /boob and bed

Those who haven't weaned and restless /waking at night and were sleeping well - think about weaning

NameChange30 · 12/08/2017 13:35

Blondes
I believe the research shows that night wakings are not to do with hunger or readiness for solids. There are a lot reasons for night wakings and it could just be needing comfort, or habit. I think the most convincing is that their sleep cycles are changing so they have to adapt. And I've read that introducing solids before they're ready can cause indigestion which can make them sleep worse, not better.

Carolann8584 · 12/08/2017 13:37

I think I've discovered 1 thing that is waking her, the walls of her Moses. If she hits her arms and legs against the sides it makes her jump and so wakes her.

I was considering introducing breakfast as she only has 2oz I could make that into baby porridge or something. She might have more

Carolann8584 · 12/08/2017 17:21

DD not had afternoon nap tonight's going to be fun (!)

MotherofA · 12/08/2017 18:14

That's why I've moved DD in to her cot she was bashing the basket and waking up !
Defo no harm in a bit of baby porridge Carol Smile

Carolann8584 · 12/08/2017 18:34

Well that was a surprise. DD has had her bath and feed and now she's snoozing!! Completely zonked Grin

Carolann8584 · 12/08/2017 18:55

We don't have the room to set up her cot in our room so hoping she will last another month or so til she goes in her room

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/08/2017 19:47

possibly @namechange tho through years of nannying those children that ive looked after who then started on food, whether veggies or porridge then started sleeping again

weaning ages has gone up and down in 25yrs that ive worked with newborns, so i dont have a problem with weaning past 17w, but obv always parents decision

dd was waking self up walloping moses basket, again a reason we moved to cot and own room as cot wont fit in our bedroom

NameChange30 · 12/08/2017 20:31

Fair enough Blondes Smile

We have a Snuzpod which is bigger than a Moses basket, but DS is huge (still 98th percentile at recent weigh-in) so he will no doubt grow out of it soon Sad I don't think a cot would fit in our bedroom either, although we have a cot bed, which definitely won't fit! I'll miss him when it goes into his own room but mostly I'll miss being able to feed him without getting out of bed.

Carolann8584 · 13/08/2017 00:07

Well successful night out for me, only one phone call home as DD was screaming, she has trouble settling for my OH (sees him as play time) but he managed it Grin yay daddy. Had a feed earlier than usual as 9ish so might be able to sneak a df before I go to bed.

MotherofA · 13/08/2017 08:31

Ahhhh that's brilliant Smile

MotherofA · 13/08/2017 22:08

Omg Hugh a kidney stone you poor thing that must have been awful !
DD been pretty good today . We went to a family BBQ until 7pm so she went down like a light when we came home . Last night she woke at 10.30 but she settled back without feed until 2am so that's progress . Smile

Carolann8584 · 13/08/2017 22:57

DD has been so good today. Had 24.5oz so far will df shortly which she will have 5-6oz so might reach 30oz!! Yay. She has gotten use to our nap and bedtime routines no problems Grin bedtime has moved slightly from 7 to 6:45 because she had a feed at 3:30 She missed her afternoon nap so lots of eye rubbing from 5:30. Gave her bath and feed, she sat up chatting quietly for 10 mins then sleeping bag and bed.

Hi all,

Had a few HORRENDOUS days with ds but hopefully turning the corner now. Was worried the neocate wasn't suited to him at all but I've been reassured that things often get worse before better. He's taking minimum feed at the moment though, only
Really when he is very hungry but I'm hoping he will slowly adjust.

We moved ds into cot as he was really too big for the Moses now. He loves stretching out!

Hugh sorry to hear you are feeling poorly, I also suffer from UTI's and find that taking something called D'Mannose helps a lot. Hope you feel better soon! No we aren't having the hip X-ray...

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2017 22:27

No to hip x ray. Hope all is ok

Lovely when you see them stretch in cots

We still seem to have hr naps 9-10 1-2. 4-5 roughly

Couple of food poo explosions and change of clothes

Guess what goes in must come out

Got weighed today almost 19lbs and 20w tomorrow

MotherofA · 14/08/2017 22:43

Hey all . No hip x ray here so far no . Random they've sent you that Hugh !
Are you feeling better ?
Not had DD weighed for a long time but should soon because I want to know how far off the next car seat she is haha she hates the stage 1 seat !
Oh no purple so sorry to hear of this . Are you ok ? Hoping for some peace for you and DSCakeFlowers

MotherofA · 14/08/2017 22:53

purpleviolet1 · 14/08/2017 23:26
