And huge respect to EaH, without whose efforts we never would have had a list

(And yes, I am one of those sad people who finds things like temperature sensors in cars really interesting. Nerd.)

Laughalot - he actually went 4 hours yesterday with no problems - think I had been making the 3 hour thing worse by assuming he was hungry every time he cried and it had been three hours. He didn't like the cooled boiled water though, he took a few long sucks thinking it was milk then screwed up his face in disgust and shrieked! Hee hee.

Carrotcake - my DH gets fed up with me MNing all the time but I think bollocks. I have to put up with his golf (well, I suppose it is his career but it's still GOLF!!)

Will be off to pick up J from mums in a bit - it has been lovely having a day to myself though. Had a fab back massage this morning, then went to Asda to have a mooch around the clothes section, came back, had lunch, watched 10 Years Younger on cable, blitzed the lounge and am now MNing Starting to miss LO though.

And when I say blitzed the lounge I mean BLITZED [Wilkie polishes her halo] - I even pulled the sofas out to hoover underneath (they were embarrassingly revolting underneath, SOOOOOOO much dust!!!)

Hi all. Like the new title 2happy!

OMG carrotcake I can't believe your LO pooed round his head!! Freddie pooed in the bath yesterday which was pretty revolting! But at least it was in the bath so it was easy enough to clean up, but not before it had floated around a bit and got all over both of us!! Yuck.

I've tried tesco nappies as well and found them pretty good. Huggies are really good too, so I have been alternating between those 2. I had loads of leaks with pampers too.

Well done with all the cleaning Wilkie! I have been attempting to get though the mountain load of ironing that needs doing today as DP is home and (supposedly) helping out with Freddie. I've had a really sore, stiff back recently though (too much carrying LO around I guess...a massage sounds like a wonderful idea!) so ironing is really NOT what i want to be doing.

Thanks all for nappy advise - I actually ordered some totsbots reusables a couple of weeks ago after using a trial pack and am waiting for them to arrive.

I think I'll try the tescos ones as I'll still need some disposables for going out etc. I usually avoid tesco on principal but they do sound cheap and good.

Report
carrotcake · 07/03/2007 16:05

Hmm, I'n not a tesco fan either, but they do seem to be winning the nappy prize...

Thanks, saltcod, I hadn't thought of the belly bands, I've actually still got some from the summer before I had to give in to maternity wear.

DS isba bit spottier now than in those pics , but still cute!

saltcod, my ds was feeding every hour or so until we got him a dummy. I don't like them, but he was just comfort sucking which was exhausting me, so needs must! We had to try a couple of different types before we found one he liked.

theUrbanDryad · 07/03/2007 17:20

afternoon all!

Zac feeds every 3 hours or so in the day, he can go longer if we're in town and i have him in the sling which he seems to sleep really well in. he sometimes feed every hour though which is very tiring. i don't mind though - he's put on almost 1lb every week so i'm obviously doing something right!

bought some more dungarees today - think i might be a bit obsessed now! but i really wanted some cord-type ones, so that's it now. he has four pairs, which is more than any boy needs! he's grown out of half his clothes already, i've put them on a big pile on the spare room bed for the next baby!!

I have a day away and it goes mad on here (took the dd's to see my nan who lives about an hours drive away so only go once or twice a month) My nan bought them both some really cute clothes - ellie got red and white gingham 3/4 length trousers and a rd t-shirt and hattie got the same trousers but with a white t-shirt v.cute also went to asda as she has a huge one where she is and got 4 pairs of winter pj's (2 pairs for each of them 9-12months and 3-4yrs)for £6 bargain.

Wilkie glad the aptamil is working do you think I could become a parenting guru and earn loads of money now???? love the smiley pic still trying to get a full grin on camera but have uploaded a smirk smile

Dragonhart - good luck for tomorrow I know Ruth is exactly the same age as hattie but we have only been getting big grins for the last week and mainly in the morning and hope ds bottom better soon

UD- I have some red cord dungarees from babygap think they are 3-6 months that are brand new as ought them for ellie but decided they were to boyish do you want them for Zac if so email me at [email protected] and I'll post them to you

jodie the bottles were redelivered to me yesterday have absolultley no idea why (put my address on the back of the packet) complained to the PO and have to take them back and they'll repost them free so will try and do it by the end of the week

2happy fab title glad my obsessive list making came into some use

Laughalot oh my god re the tv arial sort of thing that happens here especially if dh put anything away, the hungrier baby stuff for last 2 night feeds is working quite well so far and good luck for injections tomorrow

shimmer at poo in the bath-lovely

Hattie2- mmmnn your dh sounds like mine only does a nappy if it really stinks or is about to fall of with the weight of wee in it

Katwith3kittens-understand re sex drive think mine didnt reappear for about 12weeks after ellie born and certainly havent felt like it much since hattie been born in fact havent actually done the deed yet fumbled around a bit but not gone through with it yet(tmi)!!!

right can't do any more personals my eyes are going funny from scrolling up and down, but I use pampers and tesco nappies just finishing up what I have left in size 1 and start my stock of size 2's that are oveflowing in the cupboard in hatties room

When should my AF reappear?? J is nearly 8 weeks old and no sign (nt that I'm complaining, just wondering)

UD - did it make you want to cry sorting out the stuff he has grown out of? I did today when I sorted a big bag of bits and pieces that are now too small

Got J back now after a day at Grandmas - missed him lots this afternoon. He'd had a poo explosion there and I was handed a nappy sack with the vest and romper suit in covered in toxic yellow sh*t. Thanks mum! Am going to have to scroll back down the list now for poo stain removal advice

I use bambino mio washable nappies, tried them, little lamb, tots bots and cotton bottoms before I decided on bambinos, v happy with them. Bought a birth to potty set from Kiddicare and wash every 3rd day. Use disposables if we stay overnight anywhere and have been buying morrisons own cos they are v cheap.

If anyone lives in West Sussex and wants to try washables you can get a starter pack worth £100 from the council with 10 motherease nappies, 2 wraps and 3 rolls of liners. They came to me via my brothers SIL who had decided she couldn't be bothered with them.

Had a lovely day with my mum, went to Mothercare (again) to check bra size which is ok, tried to get sunshade things for car but I hate cats so couldn't buy any mothercare ones. Asda have v cheap ones 1.50 for 2 passenger ones and 2.50 for a rearscreen one but out of stock so have to go back. Walked along the canal for a bit and stopped for a coffee before coming home to gorgeous smelling washing from having dried on the line.

I packed away the babygro LO first wore and her coming home from hosp dress in a special box to put away with all her cards. Bit anal with 'memories'!

Cracked nip is healing really well so am feeling much brighter. Got another lot of antibiotics for fanjo though so I feel like a right pill popper at the mo and seem to have spoken to and been to the docs more this week than in the 4 years I've been registered there!

Vinorouge - I may give bambino mio a try - we have a different system here in - £55 towards the cost of reusable nappies which is why I thought I'd give it a go.

Ellieandhattie - OMG - you are scarily organised!!

Morning! You don't half chat on here. Took me all my breakfast plus cuppa to catch up!

EAH - how did you manage the hand and foot print for your lo? I've bought some paint from ELC (which says for 3 yrs+) but not quite sure how to proceed. Especially her hands.

Report
carrotcake · 08/03/2007 08:16

I did that with dd, just literally painted one foot and pressed it on some paper then wiped it off with a flannel. I have books from my other two but I sort of backdated them and I know all the 'first smiled at' weeks are wrong! Maybe this time I should do it at the right times

Report
ellieandhattie · 08/03/2007 08:57

rgee almost the same as carrotcake got pink paint from elc and a brush painted a thin coat on(put to much on the first time and it smudges) then press the paper against her foot normally a 2 person job one holding baby and one doing the paper. With hand put paper on the table and just pressed her hand against it but rub each finger gently to make sure you get all 5 fingers on the paper hope that helps

Thanks for the choc buttons EAH. Bought you a creme egg

Might try this hand and foot print malarky. I have a baby book which I started off filling in every night but kind of have forgotten about it for the last few weeks

Emailed KatieRocket but haven't heard back yet, hope she is OK. Anyone else seen her on any other threads/heard from her?

Well, I'm off to clinic this morning to get little fat boy weighed and then SIL is coming for a few hours.

Morning all well good night here lauren only wakes up once now in the night that seems to be her little routine however it is her injecions today so that could all change. My ds has gone to his mammars today because I dont drive and iv got to go and get her weighed and then go back later for her injections and because I dont have a double buggy iv just got a buggy board that attaches onto my pram I thought it may kill me walking up and down to town that many times. It has made me realise today though how easy it is just having one child iv got so many things done today with just having lauren at home . Right ladies catch up later xx
Ps im going to my mates before doctors and im going to chomp on a great big piece of carrot cake .
