NJ must have had some fun, she's not posted since!
Same old here, DD3 is a bit daft (when is she not) such as finding her at 6am out of her bed taking her top off because she wanted the blue top on - WTF? She wears knickers and is now insisting on two paris of knickers on top of her nappy (if she wears one). She starting to self potty-train on a night too, we bribe her to get a nappy on then we find her in the bathroom taking it off a couple of hours later.
DD4 is so nearly crawling she sits like a frog rocking backwards and forwards and is starting to flop forward so a step nearer, unlike when she wriggled backwards. That is quite scary though as we have started leaving stairgates open as DD4 is OK with stairs, but we'll have to remember to close them, plus DD4 can't open them so if she wants to go upstairs to the toilet I'm going ot have to take both of them. It also means the girls' playroom will have to be really tidy of the floor. She's into eating paper ATM. She also has another injection tomorrow - not sure what that is about so will have a word.

For all you gals with a Nintendo Wii, ahvbe you got it linked up online yet? if you have we can exchange messages throgh it and the little Wii Me's can roam through the consoles, we got one this weekend and im hooked, Wii sports if fantastic excersise!

Have a nice loooooooooonng weekend everyone!

NatalieJane · 07/05/2007 11:36

Sorry girls I don't even remember posting that message (don't remember being on the pc at all that night actualy.... ), though we did have a very lovely night (from what I do remember!!!)

George is sitting up, but no crawling yet, DS1 never crawled, he used to 'shimmy' across the floor like a soldier using his arms to pull himself along, I think George is going to do the same, he can certainly move along the floor to where he wants to be, but I wouldn't call it even shimmying yet.

I am off to add a new picture to my profile, if I can remember how to do it

Oh Charlee they are great aren't they We haven't connected it to the internet yet because I would be scared I never got off it TBH!! Anyway, I am off to do this picture before I bore you all with Wii talk

Help required here please
Whewn do i know when to start weaning ds he will be 5 mths old on the 11th,he has started waking 2 or 3 times a night again, looking at us eating with a forelorn look on his face, and not drinking all of his milk.
what are the signs?
what do i need to start with?
Is he too young?
i know questions, questions, questions all help gratefully received.

saralou100 · 07/05/2007 13:11

debs... it all depends on how you want to do it really, blw or purees.. and different arguments for signs for when their ready (ujust read someof the heated debates on here)

ds1 i started at 5 months (thanks to pressure from everyoe else) started on baby rice and followed annabel karmel for a while...

with ryan i do plan to blw him as i ended up doing this anyway with ds1 who hated purees (but is just a consistent crap eater!)

start out slow whichever way you go nd introduce one taste at a time and build up slowly

i think before 6 months you need to avoid things like gluten, citrus fruits, eggs ummm probably others

i'm sure mygrl must be good at this by now!!

Debbsy - I started Alfie at 4 months. I know they say wait but he was hungry and they dont do a follow on milk in the special one he needed so i gave hm something to eat, i think you know when he is ready and then at 5months the health visitor told me he was ready anyway.

Basically all the things yu put were what i was told 'the signs' for when they are ready, and basically if he doesnt want to eat it he wont.

Start off with one veg or fruit and steam or boil it then blend it till smooth or some baby rice is ideal, i was told they will normally only have a tiny bit at first but Alfie had 12 spoonsfuls! He now has 3 meals a day and snacks but hates having milk.
But it is good if you make a big batch of something in a cube tray then freeze and defrost one cube at a time, i do 2 weeks of dinners at one go!!
Hope this helps!

saralou100 · 07/05/2007 13:34

aaaah yes,but all those signs could also be teething related and babies show a natural curiousness about everything so will watch everything

which is exctly how ryan is at the moment!!

OP posts:
saralou100 · 07/05/2007 13:48

debs try him with some baby rice

if he's ready he'll take it

i tried ryan the other day 'cause i'd kind of run out of ideas

he wsn't interested, spat the food out grabbed the spoon of me and chewed that... it was down to his teth!!
