They don't make it easy do they Mygirl?

Mummy2TandF · 28/02/2007 11:05

Hi all I had Freya weighed again yesterday she is 17 weeks and was 14lbs 3oz, so her weight gain has slowed down but she is still doing well Are anyone elses lo's starting to refuse bottles? DD went the other day from 12:30pm (when she had 7oz) to 3:30pm when she only took an oz and then she didn't feed again until 6:30pm - She has done this a few times now and can leave anything from 4oz to 10oz in any one day!, she is still sleeping through the night though and still seems happy, so I don't want to force it on her - it is just something new for me ds would never have refused any milk dd also has her final jabs on Tuesday, hopefully I have got the right day this time.
charlee for you

saralou100 · 28/02/2007 12:07

hi everyone!!!!!

mummy2t&f, ds2 is going through his 12wk growth spurt right now, so all he wants is a bottle shoved in his gob.. removing it is the problem! hope your ok.. i saw your thread, have you sorted it all out or is he still being horrid? i didn't say anything as you had plenty of people already giving you advice, but wer'e all here too if you wanna rant!

mygirl, that seems wrong somehow... surely the imms are important and leaving too long between doses could have implications... not that i know anything about immunisations, but i missed my dogs booster by a couple of months and had to start the course all over again... not that i'm comparing your daughter to a dog of course but i did the same with my hep b imms, left it too long between boosters and had to start again! not very organised methinks!

have to go for an eye test today, ds1 murdered my glasses at the weekend, so i need to get new ones.. such bad timing don't have the money for them, so mum has given me my birthday present early.. how nice a new pair of glasses for my birthday present!!

morning everyone. mummytotandf, ds leaves so much milk, he might take between 1 and 5 ounces each feed, feeds around every4-5 hours, still got good weight gain but sitll screaming every time i put a bottle in his mouth, god knows why!

right must go sort the clean washing gotta get to town this afternoon!

Tinasan · 28/02/2007 12:44

Hi all,
Could I join back in again? I have been around but have never had time to post - just gone through a very difficult stage with Elena - colds, growth spurts and not sleeping much! Seem to have turned a corner over the last few days though - she even slept through from 10 till 6 last night and is having a nap as I type!! Long may it continue She's also rolling all over the place, from back to front and back again, standing up (obviously while holding my hands!), and loves her newest piece of equipment, her bumbo! She weights 14 pounds too, which I think is not that big for 18 weeks but she is small and perfectly formed like her mamma!!!

My details as follows:

Tinasan - Elena Marie, born 25 October, first child, no pets, me 33, dh 35, live SW London

Great news Charlee on the all clear too

God I've just read that all back and I sound like a right boaster. Can't help it though

KaybeeandZak · 28/02/2007 21:17

Great news Charlee, I'm so happy for you

Mummy2TandF · 28/02/2007 21:36

Sara - thanks for saying that you are here for me - it is so nice to hear but I think I will keep that misggy peice of my life on its own little thread
stacey - I am glad it is not just Freya, I can't work her out sometimes but I think that might be because I expected her to be the same as ds was and she is not, she is obviously her own little person
Tinasan - Elena is about the same as Freya then - do you find that she is still in smaller clothes than her ags IYSWIM - I have only just moved dd to 3-6 months and to be honest they are a bit big for her , she is sooo dinky though, I always wanted a diddy baby (although 14lbs isn't that diddy) ds was always so big and still is now - people think that he is a naughty 3.5 or 4 year old and are always shocked when I say that he is only 2.3! Anyway am off to make bottles - ds and dd asleep for the night so no more children until 7:30ish tomorrow Time to relax - I wished

staceym11 · 01/03/2007 07:15

mummy to t and f dd was always diddy, she went into 3-6 clothes at 7 month 9-12 at juat over a year 12-18 at 18 month and is now 2 and in 18-23 and some 2-3!

im sure ds will overtake her one day!

tinasan, it honestly depends on the baby, my dd slept through the night from day 1, whereas ds can wake anything up to 4 times a night, it depends on their motabalism stuff, all babes are different.

i do know however from when ds had solids to calm him (and coz it made him drink more milk) he slept through, when i stopped them as his milk intake was dropping he stopped sleeping through, role on weaning! i might get some sleep!

Thanks
I will catch up when i feel better xx

saralou100 · 01/03/2007 12:02

debbsy, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly... i've had allsorts since ds2 was born and he's been ok! all that breastmilk has stuff in it to hopefully stop him getting it... handwashing very important though xx feel bettter soon

podglet · 01/03/2007 12:52

Hello,

Debbsy - get well soon. I second Sara, Breastmilk has all sorts of things in it to stop your ds from catching your bug. However, be extra careful with handwashing etc. (((hugs))) for you

Hi Tinasan - I'm one in the opposite camp - DS in 3 - 6 month clothes since 10 weeks and isn't going to be in them for much longer he's sooo long.

Had him weighed on tuesday - now 15lb 15oz so double his birthweight my clever little man. I hadn't expected him to have put on that much as he has started messing about with his feeds. He will go on ok but if my let down is too fast, he'll cough and splutter and refuse to suck so I'm left spraying milk everywhere (great in Starbucks ) and he won't go back on for another 1/2 hour. This means the amount of feeds per day has gone from 7/8 to 5/6 but he doesn't seem to want it more often - gets downright stroppy infact if I offer it!

Ordered him some baby sunglasses on Monday which arrived today - they are so cute!

off for his 3rd set of jabs today Calpol is at the ready...

NatalieJane · 01/03/2007 14:17

Hello everyone

Feel better soon Debbsey xxx

Well, it is the 1st of March, I am in full birthday organisation mode, DS1 is going to be 5 on the 18th, I don't know if I am more proud of him and the way he has turned out or more sad that he isn't my little baby anymore, will let you know when I decide which! I must admit, I am a hell of a lot more excited than he is! He has been going on about getting a Nintendo Wii for ages, we searched everywhere for one and no where had them in stock (there are even websites that are running a live stock check of everywhere because they are coming in and out of stock so fast!) we managed to get one from Amazon a couple of weeks ago but DS still thinks we haven't been able to get one! He keeps banging on that even if we can't get one in time for his birthday that he wants to wait for it, I can't wait to see his face when he un-wraps it And we had decided that he could have our old PC in his room, he is well on the way to being able to read and write properly now and he has always messed about with our old one (that is why it is in the state it's in!) but we have decided for an extra special treat because of the brilliant way he has handled George and everything that we will get him a new PC, our old one has pretty much had it anyway, so he is going to come down on his birthday with absolutely no idea about a new PC just for him, and then open his Wii... I am that excited I can't tell you!!! LOL

I have been to town and completly blown nearly every penny we have, I got two games and the extra controller and nunchuck thingy-me-bob for his Wii, (I was in a state of shock, I am not one for adding up what I buy and it came to £124.96, felt a little bit queasy handing my switch card over!!!) I paid the holiday off, got a few little bits and bats for his birthday, paid all the bills, ordered his new computer desk and chair, got George some 9-12m () clothes, bought myself a top and a tankini for our hols, and DH some socks (not for the hols!!), I don't even want to check internet banking, I think it would make me cry!

Ah well, pay day on the 31st

NatalieJane · 01/03/2007 14:35

Oh I got Amy Winehouse's CD aswell, first impressions: don't bother!! It is pretty dire!
