Saralou - I have just copied you in on an email I have sent to Charlee's mum, having seen her update. I can get to London fairly easily, so thought as Charlee is going to be stuck there, I would perhaps visit next week.

NatalieJane · 20/04/2007 15:25

Can I just say (in a very arse licking sort of way) you lot are brilliant, I am sure Charlee will be thrilled with what you are all doing for them

My nextdoor neighbour just came round with the local paper, DS1 (and the rest of his class) has a photo in it for being class of week, which is great DS1 pleased as punch blah blah blah, but am I right to be a bit annoyed that firstly the school didn't tell us they were going to be in it (just had a word with some of the other mums and no one seemed to know about it) but also if I was the type of person to be precious over such a thing that someone has put a picture of my son in the press with out my permission? If they'd have asked I would have let them no problem, and I'm not the sort of person to have a problem with it, but surely they shouldn't just be able to do that without consent, can they?

saralou100 · 20/04/2007 16:02

aibu??????

i don't think i would have thought of the permission thing, maybe.... but i definitely would want to know!!! thats the kind of memory thing you wanna keep!! (also known in this house as useless crap mummy can't bring herself to throw away!! although newspaper, totally different!!)

well done ds1 though!!! he's a little achiever!!!

re the rolling over thing, i did leave him last night, but i had a bad nights sleep considering no-one woke me till 7! i just couln't settle...silly mummy!!! i was the same with ds1, persistently turning him back till one night he persistently rolled onto his front again!! and sil had a rational word with me!! dp and ds1 sleep on their front, so genetics maybe right!!

ryan just had his imms... 3 needles is very mean!!

NatalieJane · 20/04/2007 16:14

Well, it is like I said, it doesn't personally bother me, but what if one of the other kids mum's were (for example) trying to keep a nasty shit of a dad away from her child or something along those lines? Not really sure why I am even questioning it, just interested to know if they should have got consent, I guess I like having something to moan about!!

Poor Ryan, I hate all of the imms being done together like that, no wonder most kids have some sort of reaction to it.

Bethbe · 20/04/2007 16:17

Saralou,

I wouldn't worry about the rolling over, but if you are try using a long grow/sleeping bag and tucking the end under the mattress!

NatalieJane · 20/04/2007 16:18

Oh and on the useless things mummy doesn't want to throw away, I have both of their cord stumps, every single picture/model/card etc. that DS1 has ever made, including all of the ones he has brought home from nursery and now school, every single birthday/christmas/anniversary/moving house etc. card we have ever recieved, loads of shite that should have been gone years ago

Bethbe · 20/04/2007 16:19

NJ:
I'd be particularly concerned if their names appeared as well. did they?

NatalieJane · 20/04/2007 16:21

No, no names except the teachers, but if it was a dad, family member, ex boyfriend gone wrong looking for revenge or something, they wouldn't need a name. it isn't as though it really matters, to me anyway, but was just interested really!

saralou100 · 20/04/2007 16:42

yup nat, kept all those... ds1 keeps coming home with scribbles on paper... i just can't!!

ryans just had a good old whinge in my ear and is now just laying on me i gotta cook dinner smehow without letting go!!

staceym11 · 20/04/2007 17:15

well ds still got gaviscon, apparantly the formula is only for severe reflux, which he hasnt got, so they dont wanna put him on that (not that they knew what it was to begin with)

podglet · 21/04/2007 20:14

Hi all,

I can't visit Charlee I won't be able to take DS in (thanks for Charlee mum for reminding me) as some of the children on the ward will be contagious and DS might have bugs on him too. So I will send them a package too.

We took DS to the beach today for the first time. He loved the sand and dipping his toes in the water with Daddy!

staceym11 · 22/04/2007 07:38

hiya all, went to seaside yesterday and got severly burnt! must go clear up dds breakfast!

NatalieJane · 23/04/2007 10:10

Morning all

Sunburnt? You obviously weren't at Blackpool then, it has done nothing but chuck it down with rain all weekend here....

Me and DH have managed to sit down and chat about this move, he has finally agreed that we should start looking into it, it is so exciting We have loads to look into and work out yet, but we have plenty of time to do that as we have two years left on our fixed mortgage, so we have two years to do everything including learn Spanish(!!!!) and then make the move, wwwhhhhhoooooooooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooo

staceym11 · 23/04/2007 10:31

nj you're moving to spain?! you'll still be on MN tho right? we'll miss you otherwise!!

and no i wasnt in blackpool, hastings acctually! it was lovely!

hope everyone had a good weekend!

NatalieJane · 23/04/2007 10:32

If we do end up going, and it is a big if, it won't be for a good couple of years yet

Got to go and sort out that payment now

podglet · 23/04/2007 11:04

Oooh NJ, how exciting. My in-laws have a house out there that they holiday let at the moment with a view to moving in a few years. Am v

Stacey - we might be in Hastings this weekend. we are going to the IL's for the weekend and my FIL owns about 10 flats there so we might visit the seaside with him as he does his rent collection rounds

DS is chatting to himself happily in his Tigger Bouncer, he's still in his PJ's but he's so happy playing, I can't dress him just yet!

HappyCatandIzzy · 23/04/2007 20:43

Hi,

This is one of those questions that I probably wouldn't be able to ask in real life, as it is about poo! I've just started Izzy on solids, and everything is going straight through her. I gave her baby rice and pear, and her poo went right up her back and looked like pear. So after a couple of days of that (and a lot of washing clothes!) I tried carrot, and her poo came out wet and orange. Is this normal? I was told solid food meant solid poo. I am definitely finding that the opposite is true! Please tell me I am not the only person to be having poo issues!

Debbsyandson · 23/04/2007 21:10

hi all im still here not much time to post at the minute

saralou100 · 23/04/2007 22:12

hi all!

happcat, whilst their still on purees it's still very runny.. it takes ages to go solid as the majority of her diet is still milk! i do remember the joys of weening, their poo is all sorts of different colours... enjoy it while you can... baby poo is much nicer! i can smell ds1 from another room, i go this colour !

debs, i posted the cheque (finaly )

stace, so how do i send money to this paypal account (complete computer phobe.. i mumsnet and e-mail, thats my limit!) will do it when i get paid!!

OP posts:
staceym11 · 23/04/2007 22:45

saralou, if you've got a paypal account you jsut have to go to send money, type the address (holiday for [email protected], without the spaces) and the amount, choose other (rather than item/ebay item) and you should be set to go, if you have problems let me know and i can request the money from you like an invoice from ebay so it'll be easier for you!

Debbsyandson · 23/04/2007 22:48

Sorry guys this is only quick but im leaving for a while.

staceym11 · 23/04/2007 22:52
