Good morning ladies. Yes we were doing parks all weekend and shopping for ds3 for summer clothes.
I think lo is teething too. Very red cheeks, dribbling for England and generaly pretty miserable. I keep putting my finger in and having a feel but cant actually feel anything. Oh and yes pmoore nappies YUK!!!!
Funny thing is though he went to bed at 8 woke again at 6am for a bottle and is still asleep now. Lucky baby.
Well enjoy the sunshine all.
Everything crossed for you Justers

Swizzler · 12/03/2007 13:51

Hope everyone enjoyed the sunny weather - we've been in the park most of the weekend. Dh experimenting with the sling at the moment. Looks v sweet .

W's sleep is going completely haywire again - up every hour last night - no idea why. He;s just managed to sit up without keeling over to one side, so may be something to do with that.

Am holding off on solids for a few more weeks, but looking forward to trying him on new foods. Has anyone else thought about trying baby led weaning?

Justers: best of luck with the house. We need to think seriously about moving, but I'm putting it off as long as possible

Justers · 12/03/2007 14:51

Hi everyone
Good news on house front the woman has now decided that she's ok with parking arrangements so looks like things are still go. I wish that she'd not left us hanging on all weekend though as I've had upset tummy all weekend with nerves! Hopefully going to be on the move in 2 weeks then I'm thinking about stopping bf when i get settled in new house. Haven't had much thought on weaning and I don't really know what baby led weaning is! Just thought that I would start on baby rice and veg purees when he's about 6 months. Going to see hv on thursday so i'll have a chat to her then.
It must be really hard going for you Swizzler being up most of the night. Gingeme,my lo has been dribbling and shoving his fist in his mouth for about a month but still no sign of teeth either.
Away to go and have a cuppa before dh gets home from work as lo is having a snooze. X

Gingeme · 12/03/2007 18:08

Thats briliant news justers. Good luck with it all. No I dont realy know what baby led weaning is either. Ive been giving Edward baby rice or the Cow and Gate breakfasts in the morning. Next month Im going to start him on the lunches then the month after that dinners. Those of you who take your baby shopping do they like the baby chairs on the trolleys? Edward hates them. Ive tried padding them, toys, his blanket from the car everything but he just screams. In fact now I think of it none of my boys liked them. Someone realy needs to re think their design and make them a bit more baby friendly

pmoore · 12/03/2007 19:55

Justers- great news on house- a weight off your mind.

I've been reading a bit on BLW and it seems ok. Samantha is just getting to be hungrier for more food now. Not sure whether to increase her milk to 5 bottles of 8oz or start to wean her now she is 23 weeks?!

marthahm- been to see James (LO's osteopath) He says he sees some improvement and I see some too. Going again next Saturday. I was trying to explain to him that I have never actually met you and it was just Mumsnet! I am glad that you recommend him he is a great paediatric osteopath!

Gingeme- on the trolley subject- I have always struggled, first with the baby carseat ones (always couldn't see over top) and the other ones- LO doesn't like them. Now I go shopping with DP and he pushs the pushchair but it is aggravating if he is not around.

Another really nice day here in Gravesend, hope evryone else had glorious sunshine too.

............enough of my ranting.

youngmum21 · 13/03/2007 08:03

Morning all

Lo is being grumpy at the min think her gums are hurting as i can see and feel the tooth on the bottom so hopefully it will come thru properly soon!!!!

pmoore- i cant believe your lo is nearly 6moths already where is the time going?

Dd is getting on great at the settling sessions with the cm so am quiet looking forward to going back to work knowing she will be happy

Looks like it going to be another nice day here today

Justers well done on the house me and dp shud also hopefully be moving in the next 6-8 weeks we are buying our first place together

totallyfloaty35 · 13/03/2007 09:41

Hi all,i not been off for ages.Justers congrats on house move, glad its sorted, moving house is so stressful.
Lexies teething and has a cold, poor little mite but she is still happy and smiling.Im going to do BLW it seems to make sense and looks quite easy, just got to get to april then we can start
She is now sleeping from 8-8,this threw me as we used to do 9-30 til 8,so come evening she is screaming from tiredness and im still trying to fit in bath time and big feed, think ive got it sorted now though and evenings to myself are a novelty.
Lex will be on tv in aug or sept on Britains next Top Model, she is posing with 1 of the finalists for one of their tasks

Justers · 13/03/2007 10:47

Good Morning
Lovely day up here in Scotland as well. Youngmum are you looking forward to going back to work? I go back in 3 weeks but I'm just doing 2 nights a week but I'm totally dreading it. I could quite happily be a stay at home mum! It's hard to believe as I used to be soo ambitious at work but I've totally changed the past couple of years.
I love next top model totally so i'll definately be tuning in to see your lo. How did you get your lo involved? I must find out more about BLW.
I'm getting a proper removal company to do the move as i think I would fall out with dh by end of day if we tried to do it ourselves so hopefully it won't be too stressful. I can't wait as we stay in a first floor flat at the moment and it's been a nightmare getting out the hose with a pram, baby and a dog! We moving to house with a nice wee garden and the grandparents are really close by so excellent for babysitting duties!
Better go as lo is getting restless.

Rumpel · 13/03/2007 11:16

Morning All,

Justers great news re house - where are you moving to?

Got my first period on Monday, the day I had the lovely 7.5 hour drive back from my folks, felt awful LO cried for the last hour. Grandma and Grandpa spolied her rotten woith love though, so it was well worth it. She was chuckling at my Dad'ds beard.

Took her swimming with my Mum, huggies swim pants, and she loved it too. I've been giving her solids for a few weeks now and she has progressed onto breakfast, lunch and dinner. I started with pureed pears (YUM) then rice, then porridge and last night parsnips. She loves a wee bit of banana mashed into her rice/porridge too. HV comes on Thurs morning so I'll get her weighed and measured again. Defo caught up with everyone re weight now - she is a chubb

Need to go and do some prep for tomorrow, back at Uni Am dreading it as I'll need to leave her all day, it's a really long drive and I need to try to find my brain Still it's only part-time. The way things are going it will probably only take me another 5 years to complete

pmoore · 13/03/2007 18:46

Hi all,

Not been very eventful and not much to report! LO still really unsettled- think we are fast approaching the need for weaning. Its so easy just giving milk!

DP spoke about having another child today, thing is now I'm really excited but I do want a few more months of enjoying Samantha first.

Modelling sounds like good fun. Maybe I should try LO out. Bit worried about it, but it sounds like positve experience for people that have done it.

Off for my healthy dinner now........ bored, bored, bored. After my weigh in tomorrow I'm having a big fat greasy KFC!!

Mellin · 13/03/2007 19:51

Hi all,

What a beautiful day in London, we spent most of the morning in the garden enjoying the sun. I spoke to my mother in Australia today who said it was cool and overcast there. Oh the irony, weather turning lovely here just before we leave for our trip to Australia!

Justers, congrats on the house and good luck with the move. We completed on our place only a month before dd was born and had 2 failed attempts on other properties prior to that with the chain breaking down somewhere along the line. I can honestly say it was one of the most stressful times of my life (baby aside ), especially dealing with solicitors which I found sooooo frustrating.

Wow we have so many gorgeous Oct babies. You must all have pretty chilled babies to do modelling, I can't imagine dd being patient or well-behaved enough to model (plus she is almost bald!). Every photo we have of her is blurred due to arms/legs/head waving. Whenever I watch tv now and see a newborn who never makes a peep and is perfectly well behaved (as they all seem to be on tv) I just think naaaaah that's not right. Never would have thought about it before but now I know better!

Gingeme · 13/03/2007 21:39

Erm cant remember totaly without looking at the email sorry.
Had great fun at Ikea today. ds3 had a good time trying all the seats and beds. Going to get him a blue bed next month. Getting new dining room and chairs too. Even tried the meatballs for lunch. Yummy
Lo is rolling and rolling over now. He normaly plays on a cot bed quilt on the floor but he doesnt stay on it for long now. Little monkey....

Justers · 14/03/2007 00:11

Just back from a pub quiz night. Had a few wines and feeling a bit tipsy. Away to express though as my boobs feel like they are away to explode! It's great to get out with just me and dh again. Oh and we came in 5th place!!

Swizzler · 14/03/2007 07:17

DS still showing no signs of wanting to roll, but has just managed to sit up without keeling over . He's playing on the floor at the moment - he's discovered that banging his toys on the wooden floors makes a good noise

Slightly better night last night - only 2 wakings between 10 and 6:30 when he swoke up for the day. Feeling much better now I've had a bit of sleep.

Mellin: agree about getting DS to keep still long enough for a photo assignment! Most of the photos we have are blurred. Got a good one yesterday of him with his first betting slip - a friend came over for lunch and put a fiver on one of the horses running at Cheltenham. DS batted at the one he wanted - a safe choice at 3:1 - but it came nowhere . Perhaps he'll get a better judge of form as he gets older

Finally going to the HV this afternoon to get DS weighed. Still haven't tried him on solids, but may try in the next few weeks (he's now 23 weeks). He's growing quite enought on milk for the time being - and bfing is easier and less messy

Swizzler · 14/03/2007 07:19

Well done on a) getting out and b) doing well at the pub quiz Justers! I'm crap at them, as don't know anything about telly, music or sort and the things I do know about I forget under pressure!

Swizzler · 14/03/2007 07:20

MEET-UP: today's was cancelled cos it would only be me and Catgirl as we have no mates . Ideas for other times and venues please! Wednesdays would be best for me, as I won't be working Weds for at least 6 months

lol pmoore! kfc! mmmmmmmm!
good luck with ur weigh in, i lost another pound this wk, its coming off so slowly now! we have booked a hol at the end of sep so i've got till then to get nice & slim! Only got another 7lb to lose to my pre baby weight, but then i'd like to lose another stone aswell to feel really happy with myself! We have also talked about having another baby soon, but like u said, wanna enjoy kai for a few more months still, maybe after the hol we will!

dp done some modelling when he was a baby, his mum keeps saying i should send some photos off kai off, i'm not really sure about it though. He loves posing for the camera & is a very happy & chilled out baby so maybe will give it a go, i dunno.

hope everyone else is ok & enjoying the lovely weather, gonna spend the afternoon in the park i think. x

Gingeme · 14/03/2007 10:39

Good morning ladies.
Swizzler lo rolls right across the floor! ds3 thinks its realy funny.
Inthehouse does your lo seem hungry between feeds? Has he been sleeping through then waking again for a feed? Stuffing fists into his mouth? Theses are usualy signs to look for that solids need to be introduced. My lo is 20 weeks now and has been having a bit of breakfast for about 3 weeks now. In a couple of weeks Im going to start him on a bit of lunch too. Though I know full well savoury wont be nearly as popular as sweet.
Oh dear on the meet up front. Maybe do another one soon.
Have a good day all. xx
