Hi All

A bit sad at some Mummies leaving but I am lucky enough not to be working, have a small house and only 1 babe, so have time to check here regularly, so understand might be difficult for others. Also sometimes you need support and others you don't. Think how many people were on the nate-natal compared to this one - big difference.

Gingeme - you didn't like the fudge - yum! You can almost feel your teeth dissolving with tablet and fudge though Nice and thoughful kids - not long until you see them now is it?

I have been walking a couple of miles every day now - along the prom and back and feel the better for it. I bought Amber purple baby banz on ebay and she looks fab in them. It's been quite sunny here so she needed some to protect her eyes. Loads of skin cancer in my family too, so I'll need to be careful with her beautiful porcelain skin.

Well, we've got an exciting weekend. Tomorrow I get my hair done - first time since July You should see some of my split ends. It's in horrible nick, is it the pg, bf, labour trauma do you think - are you all the same? Then we have a 40th party tomorrow night - can't really make anight of it though as we have a 3 year olds' part on Sunday morning. I'm sure LO will enjoy it - not so sure about us though

I've had LO on baby rice but am going to progress to porridge next week. I put a smidgeon of banana in her rice the other day - the next day her poo had black threads in it - must have been the banana seeds - very bizarre.

Hope you all have great weekends.x

I know rumple Ive never liked fudge even as a child. My dh loves it though. Only 3 and a bit weeks now till they come down. Cant wait
Took ds3 and lo to Clown Town today. ds3 goes off and does his own thing so I put lo in the lo's soft play bit. There was another lo in it and they were both laying and babbling to eachother. It was so funny. Went to Tesco after and lo slept all the way round. He must have worn his self out making a new friend.
Well nearly bath time so Ill bid you ladies a good weekend. XXX

Hi all,
DP has finally got my laptop up and running so I can sit in the comfort of the armchair and MN to my hearts content!

LO is teething- if anything is going to put me off having another it'll be this stage but I'm sure I'll be saying that for lots more stages.

At the moment she is having a very grumpy time each day- usually 5.30pm, does that happen?

Got the osteopath for LO tomorrow then her Christening on Sunday-busy, busy.

Got an email from Pampers today about the Baby Show- does anyone go? I'm thinking about it.

is it OK to invite myself (even just briefly) onto your thread? I wanted to start an October 07 births thread &PrettyCandles told me that a thread already existed. Seems like you all "know" each other a bit but I just want a bit of sharing of experiences etc....?!

Hello there! This was originally the Oct 06 thread - did you mean 06 or 07? If the latter, there is another thread somewhere - will try and link

Eve' All,

Welcome INTHEHOUSE.

PRETTYCANDLES - how are you and how is the fitness plan going?

youngmum - I adore kittens. We've got 3 cats and a stray we feed. We had to get one put down after DD was born as he had gone senile and started toileting in the house. They are all moggies. We did have a beautiful silver Maincoone we inherited, but she sadly got ran over Christmas 2005.

Hope you are all having a good weekend. We went to the 40th last night - I had 3 gins and felt squiffy! Everyone was remarking upon DD having changed so much since last time they saw her.

Got my hair cut yesterday and it looks a million times better. Shame I can't chop the fat off too I am off up to my parent's tomorrow so I probably won't post for a while as they live in the middle of nowhere and don't have broadband - 8 hour journey for me and LO.

Take care all xxx

Went to my sil birthday meal this afternoon. Saw one of my old school friends who has a dd of 11 months. She was charmed by my lo and was disapointed he was asleep and she didnt get a cuddle. Oh he slept from 8.30 last night to 7.30 this morning. Just ashame my ds3 decided it was time to get up at 6.40am.

Hi everyone I've not posted for ages so hope you're all well. Great that some of your wee ones are sleeping through. I thought we'd had it cracked but the last couple of nights have been a bit rubbish. Although I moved lo into his own room last night as he has well and truly out grown his moses basket. I must admit that I felt quite upset last that he wasn't at the side of my bed. I bit silly i know!

I have found the first months with ds really tough. Seem to be coming out of the fog just recently and things are settling down. Still find it very hard but actually enjoying it mostly now too. It's my first baby & it's been a shock to be honest.

Any road up....ds is still waking at least once or twice in the night for feeds & the daytime feeds or naps don't seem to make a difference on this. Anyone else still night feding?

Also (sorry to ramble on) I do worry about the length of time he is awake for in the day. I know it sounds weird but he just seems to need SO much sleep. He can very easily need to go back to bed an hour and a quarter/half after he last napped. And sometimes he'll nap for two hours & then only be awake for one & half.....

For the past week and bit my lo was sleeping from about 10pm until 8am but he has now reverted back to waking up during the night for a feed. He was 16 weeks when he first slept through. My lo seems to be awake a lot during the day now, his naps probably last in total around 2 hours in the daytime. It is a shock to the system at first inthehouse, I felt the same way. I'm really enjoying being a mum now though.

inthehouse my dd is only awake for 1 and a half hours aswell before she needs a sleep she is only 16weeks but i think it just varies from baby to baby!!!!

After me announcing that we were back to all nite sleeping dd decided to wake at 12.30 and not settle till 2.30 and then got up at 6.30 so am knackered this morning yet shes all smiles typical lol!!!

My lo cat naps in the day unless were out in the car then he sleeps for a couple of hours. There isnt a routine to his daytime naps either. Though I make sure he has a bedtime routine which usualy ties in with my other ds's bedtime. So that usualy means theyre both in bed by 7.30. Lo woke at 4.30 this morning for a feed then slept till 7.40..

hello - welcome inthehouse.
Smugness here - lo been sleeping thru since 7 weeks, but about 2 weeks ago he woke at 4am and dh was no happy!! explained that dd didnt sleep thru till 22 weeks but lo still ended up in own room the next night. I was v sad but he was tooo big for moses basket.
i put lo to bed same time as dd - about 7.30ish and then wake him for feed and nappy change when i go to bed about 11. He usualy then sleeps till 6.30 (sdorry to be ranmbling..)
Last lot of jabs today - yippee (for a while anyway)
Was kissing lo on the head the other day and said to dd 'ooh i could just eat him' she was horrified and said 'you can't eat owen, he's got yucky bits in his hair (cradle cap) and and and he's my little brother!' Aww!

Hi Inthehouse. My DS still wakes a couple of times at night no matter how much he feeds in the day. We had friends over for dinner Sat night and decided he could have his first taste of formula for his 10.30 feed so I could indulge in a few glasses of wine. Unfortunately he drank the formula but wouldn't settle til I fed him-oh dear. Bonus was he only woke once in the night which is very rare here-not sure if it was because of the formula or because I'd had about three glasses of wine!!
I'm the same as gingme re daytime naps. No structure to them yet and he often catnaps. However, do have bedtime routine. Bath at 6 and feed at 6.30pm. (although he was so nackered tonight he was in bed by 6.30pm hence my chance to come on here while DH does DDs bath) Then he sleeps til about 10.30pm. I think it is quite normal for them to sleep a lot in the day. They all seem to have different patterns though. Make the most of his need to sleep a lot in the day as it won't be long before they are racing around the place running us ragged!

Hi all,
Welcome inthehouse - dd is my first child too and I feel like I'm just muddling through day to day.

I'm always confused about what "sleeping through" means. 12 hours straight? I wish! dd has just recently started going from 8pm to 4/5am, which is great but she now thinks the day begins at 5am and refuses to go back to sleep after that. This weekend we had disrupted nights because of teething I think arrrgh! I can see 2 white spots on her upper gums and she is dribbling for England during the day. Have any of the Oct babies had a tooth actually appear yet?

This week I am going to start getting organised for our big trip to Australia, we leave in 2 weeks! I am dreading the 22 hour flight. But once we arrive we will have all the family support that I have been missing dearly in the last 4 months, it's the only time in the last 6 years of living in the UK I have remotely thought about moving back to Australia. dh's job means it's not an option at present, maybe in a few years.

Evening all,
Been a hectic few days.

Took LO to osteopath on Saturday, she is doing everything 'normally' which is a relief but she does have some muscle tightening in the back of her head/neck which could be making her hold her head to one side. We are going to have a few more sessions to see if it will help.

Yesterday we had the christening, glad its over and done with. We asked for contributions to LO's trust fund instead of presents- we ended up with a very generous £645 richer than me!!

Teething-arghh, LO has two white bumps on her bottom gum. Her cheeks are so red and hot. She is very clingy too, not her usual self.

hi all, welcome inthehouse
we've had a bit of a nightmare with lo's sleep for a while now. she's waking 4-5 times a night. the worst was saturday because dh was on a stag weekend and i had to do it on my own as well as all sat and most of sunday-horrible. and now have got the flu. have had to cancel all my sanity saving meeting up with other mums.
melin, hope's tooth looks almost through but i do know a baby one week older than her who has just got 2 teeth through.

I bought a bath seat for lo off ebay last week. Brand new. Just tried him in it and its too small. Gonna try to sell it on and get him a bigger one. He got stuck and the tops of his poor chunky legs were all red
Its my granddads funeral tomm afternoon. Not looking forward to it but looking forward to seeing some of my relatives who I havent seen for a few years. Shame the only time we see eachother is at these sort of dos though.
Anyway hope your nights arent too bad tonight. x
