Hopefully this works...

So we can keep in touch and pass on words of wisdom!

Perhaps someone clever could link to the stats?

Welcome jw Violet is just lovely.

tams I've got a Close Caboo also although I haven't used it much because I'm a hot person and it makes me sweat!

mrsrolly yeh I feel like he's got to get up early for work and he would be useless with no sleep. And I can't deal with him when he's like that? He does always get DDS up and dressed before he goes to work. The forest summer school sounds so much fun! Dd2 does forest school at nursery and loves it.

flossie those kind of comments make me violent. Well done for being restrained. DH has given up asking how well we've slept.

ruby I was trying to remember when we transitioned to our mam bottles last time..
I've had lots of caffeine but trying to limit the sugary treats. It started during pregnancy and its continued as G sleeps in the bed with me ( stopped settling in Moses so was just easier for me)

Cheery1 · 11/08/2016 19:44

Hello jW - Violet is gorgeous! Chat and support always available here - the ladies on this thread are gems

anna - grace is just beautiful and like a proper baby not a newborn!!! You cook em good!

Bit behind today as Mo on a blinkin feeding mission this week. Yeeeeeoouch say my poor boobs. Hourly basically which leaves zero time for anything. Good job he's so darn cute! I am seriously in awe of all of you with more than one to look after. Marvels you all are.

We went to baby massage this morning which Mo predictably fed all the way through and fell asleep. I watched the other babies having a lovely time while mine refused to let go of the boob for even a minute! £10 well spent Confused

GoingLoopyQuickly · 11/08/2016 20:51

Hi all. I have been skimming to keep in the loop. I am already terrified at howcquickly time goes by. It only seems like last month we were getting scans.

Anyhow, my now two week old Izzi is still amazing. And hercbig bro is still very. Much in love. My friend came round to take some photos and this is one of my favourites of both dc.

sock I feel your pain getting a baby out of water. Dd loves the bath and really seems to relax in there. Coming out and drying off is like torture though!

Welcome jw. Beautiful photo!

Love the picture going. Your ds looks really sweet and loving.

indians I'm impressed with the holiday plans! Well done you. I'm sure it'll be fine. Hallie sounds pretty chilled for the most part.

Thanks for all the carrier recommendations. I've got a bit of googling to do about them all now! Do you find that you/baby get particularly hot in the carrier? I've worried about that too cookies. I'm usually a cold person but dd seems fairly warm and dh definitely gets hot.

primarynoodle · 12/08/2016 04:57

Fab photos everyone - still majorly jealous of those of you who can get babies to take dummies! Even more jealous of babies spacing out feeds. I still feel Like rent-a-cow! I rarely get longer than 30-45 min break between feeds and often she spends that time whinging if I try to put her down!

Whoever said about pondering if babies get bored? I'm sure they must do - what must they dream about?!

Silly question but if your having a bath with your baby.. Are you bathing in tepid water? How do you make sure baby doesn't get too cold?! I'd love to bath with Annie as she clearly loves the water but can't get my head round the temperature issue.. (I actually have a degree would you believe ConfusedHmm)

OP posts:
socktastic · 12/08/2016 05:19

Have the bath at a body temperature. 36-37 degrees. Let us know how it goes. I'd like to try it with Adam but I'm still a little scared!

I know they say you should sleep in the same room as your baby till 6 months but.... I'm so pissed off with his fucking grunting baby! He sleeps like a dream for the first half of the night but after his feed he turns into a monster. For all intents and purposes he is sleeping but he makes such a racket writing and stretching and he's even added screams into his repertoire. Brought him out to see if a cuddle or tummy time would settle him. He got comfy on my chest but decided the only way was to crush my windpipe. Now he's sleeping on top of my covers, on my ankles and I've had to adopt the smear test position!

Beansprout30 · 12/08/2016 05:20

Hello may I join you? My lg was born 20th July and I followed most of your pregnancy threads but never posted.

Just up for feed number 3 (bf) and I think she's looking safe to put back into her sleepyhead. 1am feed did not go so well and she took ages to settle and I ended up nodding off with her in my arms Blush

Primary we bought a little duck bath thermometer as I was scared of getting the temp wrong otherwise it's recommended to you your elbow to gage the temp

Beautiful babies all btw!

Bluebell20 · 12/08/2016 05:39

Welcome jw!

primary I have actually been using a ring sling. It's not the easiest but after four or five goes I've pretty much got the hang of it. I'm a bit suspicious of how good it is for your back though as I don't think it distributes the weight evenly enough.

Indians I guess it's partly the amazing hair but Hallie is looking so much like a proper baby! Luke a baby advert baby if you know what I mean... She is actually just like my favourite baby doll of my childhood!

Going aren't you lucky to have a friend who can take such lovely pics? I think all my pics of Ruben from now to eternity will be grainy phone pics taken in the dead of night because I am now semi nocturnal!

Cheery I do feel your pain on the hourly feeds. My left nipple has cracked which looks a bit alarming and explains why that side has been hurting so much more. HOWEVER. Last night Ruben did a 3 hour sleep, then 1hr45 feed (on and off), then another 3 hour sleep. He just fed again for half an hour and is currently asleep again. There is light at the end of the cluster feeding tunnel. Hope it starts shining for you soon!

sock chuckling at you in smear test stance!

Last night I cooked a meal and almost managed to clean the whole kitchen, which was in a shocking state. It felt good! I look back at the amount of time I spent on Pinterest pre-baby and think, my god, I could have cured malaria in the time I squandered gazing upon clever ways to tie your headphone cord and DIYs for hanging planters...

PS check out the smiling baby!

PPS I actually think his first social smile was at 21 days but I didn't quite believe it at the time because all the internet bumph says they only smile from four weeks. Must stop relying on the internet bumph!

Rubytuesday2980 · 12/08/2016 07:03

Hello jw and lovely Violet.

Flossie are you less rage-filled this morning?

Aw, that is such a sweet picture Going, what a fab big bro she's got.

Indians good on you for holiday plans, personally not sure if I'm brave enough for a weekend away in the uk. Must man up.
Halle sounds like a calm baby, so am sure you'll all have a great time.

sock we have a hunting baby now too... I feel your pain. 4.15am today, grunting and wriggling all over the place and still fast asleep, unlike us. SO frustrating! Not tried smear test position, maybe one for tonight?!

Hi bean :)

THAT smile bluebell, beautiful. Well done for capturing on any device, grainy or not, that's a great photo.

This weekend's mission is to get some good photos and finally sort out thank you cards. Once upon a time this sort of project would indeed have involved some Pinterest research, now am just glad we have one if those tough cameras - let's see if it's up to the challenge of a flailing, leaking, wobbly headed small boy.

Have a good Friday all.

socktastic · 12/08/2016 07:20

bluebell gorgeous! Will admit to a chuckle at the second photo though!

Hello bean. I hope you managed to get back to sleep.

jw welcome. What a beautiful wee girl you have.

ruby I am also having Pinterest withdrawal. All those lovely baby articles and I kept thinking - great idea, I'll do that. Ha ha ha wishful thinking!

indians so glad you're beginning to settle into more of a routine now. Hallie is so cute. Love her full head of hair.

I am on a mission this morning. I WILL get a burp from this baby. I am going to be a stubborn git and no matter how much screaming, how many headbuts or scratches I get, this child will burp for me.

socktastic · 12/08/2016 07:28

Nope... He fell asleep on my shoulder instead.

Beansprout30 · 12/08/2016 07:49

Cute pic sock! I struggle to get burps from Jessie, but she managed to puke a river of milk all over me.

beckslovestimmy · 12/08/2016 08:06

Feeling refreshed this morning. Ben slept from 10-5 quick feed then back until just before 8. DH went to work at 5 do also had a few hours of the bed to myself! Lovely!!

Great pics ladies we really have made some very cute babies!

socktastic · 12/08/2016 08:32

7 hours? Becks what's your secret?

Flossiesmummy · 12/08/2016 09:27

Ruby yes, feeling much less rage today. DH fell asleep in a different room which meant I had no inane comments in the night. He did come in at six am and start rambling on about something but then he went to make a cup of tea and order was restored in my lovely quiet bedroom. Bliss. I need a cup of coffee before I can hold a conversation in the morning!

Rubytuesday2980 · 12/08/2016 09:34

Umm, becks, impressed! How old is Ben? Tell me there's hope!

primarynoodle · 12/08/2016 10:41

Oh my god becks Shock I'm in awe.. Is he on breastmilk or formula? please give me hope

Still confused about the bath - so if it's not too hot for baby will it be ok for me? I.e. Not too cold?

OP posts:
socktastic · 12/08/2016 11:22

primary my baths are round about that temperature so I think I could probably take him in with me.

primarynoodle · 12/08/2016 13:38

Oooo I might have a bath tonight Grin

OP posts:
beckslovestimmy · 12/08/2016 13:44

Ruby Ben's 7 weeks old. He's on formula primary.
No secret I'm afraid he has 5oz in each bottle doesn't always finish them but usually takes at least 4oz. He's in the Moses basket next to me. He just seems to know it's time to sleep at night. I'm usually only up once overnight with him then up at 8ish with DD for the day. I'm not doing anything special. (I do realise how lucky I am!! Grin)

Cookiesandcoffee · 12/08/2016 15:17

Wow becks I dream of this day but you give me hope!!

gojng how gorgeous!! Love a successful sibling shot!

Welcome bean Smile

bluebell love the smile and I think I love the second one more?! We had ours at 4+1 I think and everyone told me it wasn't. It was. Don't listen to anyone or tinternet!

sock your smear test position had me laughing to myself. So funny. Not for you I'm sure! I will admit that my DD1 went in her own room a while before 6 months! It was just next door and very very thin walls but I had to! Shh don't tell the health visitor!

indians that mop gets me Everytime - gorge!! So jealous of your holiday!! If DH would let us I so would (he's an anti-holiday grump who hates the heat and flying and everything else fun Hmm) what type of place are you staying in? What's the process for getting a baby passport will you have enough time etc?

tams I am particularly hot especially pregnancy /post pregnancy. I've worn it on cooler days for being out with DDs and it's been a success. They say you're supposed to regulate each other temperatures and granted DS was in a vest and not naked like he probably should have been. (I find the nappy slips and he manages to spray wee out the side! Blush)

Have managed an hour and a bit out sunbathing in the garden this afternoon - bliss! The tribe of children have done be proud (granted one of them is at a summer camp!) it's heaven! Why can't this happen everyday?! G is on a 3 hour nap so far - where is this at night time?!
