Not sure really why I haven't been posting here - bits of real life may have been getting in the way - although not really doing much .

Have had a few personal problems but hopefully I am getting there with that. Have finally stopped taking the ADs and feeling all right with it (stopped taking them about 2 months ago I think) so that is good. .

Alice decided at the end of April that she was a Big Girl and has been out of nappies ever since. As her talking isn't that sophisticated, the cry of "eeeeee" is carefully listened to as it is likely to mean that something is about to happen in the potty . No word for "ooooo" yet but she is amazing and has very few accidents. I laos enjoyed selling the cloth nappies (DS got his first bike from some of the proceeds).

I am still working 3 days a week and managing to do an amount from home which is also good. I have been having some coaching at work to help with some work issues I am having which is also good.

DS is at pre-school 3 sessions a week - two on days I don't work and the other when I do. Alice is very keen to start going to pre-school - one morning when Idropped DS off and said to her to say bye-bye to him, she said bye-bye to me and went off . She will start next Easter.

I went to the Isle of Wight music festival last weekend with my sister and her DF. It was really really good and was lovely to have some time just being me. DH had a great time with DS and Alice and went to see some friends of ours in Manchester.

I really will try and be a bit more regular on here .

Welcome home Idris. you are allways welcome here (why else do you think I have been nagging you to pop in for a chat?)

Mamamma hugs winging their way to you from me as well.

MH waves to SR so she doesn't feel left out.

Thank you everyone - I feel properly back in the fold .

Why doesn't Alice sleep? She has probably slept through about 10 times in her life. If that. I am permanently worn out. I wonder if her being in a bed would help at all [yawn like emoticon].

mummyhill · 18/06/2007 11:56

Sorry Jaamy. You can have a huge hug instead. Did you get the daft emails?

I am still off work so if any one wants to meet up give me a shout.

Idris - Not much concelation I know but Davey is the same. I am trying to hold off on the bed though as I remember being plagued by a toddler at all hours when Nat found she could get out of bed and run round the bedrooms at this age.

OP posts:
IdrisTheDragon · 18/06/2007 15:28

I don't think she'd be able to get out of her room (pretty sure she can't open the door yet). And it's so wearing being up and down to her so much. She seems to be ending up in bed with DH and me a lot lately.

It's a good thing DS is wonderful at night (he sleeps through everything, including a helicopter right over the house last week that freaked Alice and me out ).

She's a lot better at eating than DS (trying to think of the positives here). Just wish she would sleep. Maybe we should try CC but I am really not sure about it..

SunnyJaamy · 18/06/2007 22:18

Lucky you Idris - there's no locking A away!! She's like a houdini! So she will be staying in her cot for a little while yet.

Thanks for the hug MH and the emails. Sorry I don't reply to them all but I'm sooo disorganised at the moment. DOn't know whether Im coming or going. Doesn't help that DH is away an awful lot at the moment.

How goes it with you - have you done your talk yet?

SR - so sorry to hear you are down. SOunds like your holiday is coming at a good time. Don't worry about the diet. I know it makes you feel better but honestly, after some of the sights I saw on hol I really did begin to wonder why I'd bothered . Just think of the sun, sea and sand...

mummyhill · 21/06/2007 11:53

Talk was a disaster only one mum turned up and davey screamed non stop throughout.

OP posts:
SunnyJaamy · 21/06/2007 18:17

Oh MH! I'm truly sorry to hear that the talk didn't go so well. Was it poorly advertised? Or perhaps at a bad time - afternoon nap time or clashing with a baby group or something? Can't think why there was only one person there. Still, was she a good audience? And did you get any good feedback from her? You've still got more planned, haven't you? Maybe you could talk to the children's centre about how you can get a bigger turn out next time. Gosh, if I wasn't so far away I'd be there myself for moral support. Perhaps next time you could post the details on MN?

Anyway, don't let it dishearten you. ALthough D obviously doesn't want you to spread your real nappy secrets with anyone else, I'm are there's loads out there who do.

Don't give up. Big hugs. x

mummyhill · 28/06/2007 17:18

The childrens centre where we did it was only opened a few months ago and they are still trying to find their feet. They have a new parents network session where they have a six week rotation of parents and talks iyswim. I will be going back in in around 6 weeks time. Hopefuly they will have more parents in on that session.

Hello!

Back from holiday! Rachel had to go to emmergency for a head x-ray after throwing her self out of puchchair and hitting groud - it was horrid & both kids have returned with Hand-foot&mouth virus and and DH had an accident at work on Friday and got acid in his face! Every one is on the mend except my nerves - cant sleep - feeling washed out!

mummyhill · 18/07/2007 07:29

Ohh no Sr sounds like you have been through the mill a bit sweetheart. Hope the little ones are better soon how is DH? Hope you have managed to get a little sleep since your post on Monday.

Mummyhill stand in the midle of a deserted street watching tumble weeds blow about in the wind.

Hope everyone is ok.

Davey has had a virus and that has meant no proper sleep for the last 3 nights. Luckily he is back to his usual self this mrning. He will be off to the minders tomorrow, Natty will be going to MIL's at 3ish so I can get my head down for a couple of hours tomorrow.

Last time I spoke to wabbitt she had completed her childminding course and was training to become a steiner teacher.

Simplyred · 26/07/2007 22:42

Hello!

Glad wabbitt is well - hope you got some sleep earlier Mummyhill.

I'm much improved now every one is better - we are all off to London tomorrow to visit the Science Museum and Tower of London - hope the weather will be ok!

wabbitt · 02/08/2007 16:55

So - this is what you get up to when I'm forced off the net??????!!!!

Hope to be able to lure some of the old thread back together for catching up and nattering!

I'm obscenely well, just registered as a childminder and working now at the Steiner Kindergarten - i start my Steiner Waldorf early years training with Plymouth uni in Sept!

Just about half way through the new harry potter so PLEASE don't tell me what happens!!!

Conrad's beautiful and happy and as much of a joy as ever he was, he comes to work with me at the kindergarten and is used on occasion as a living doll!

Noop is out of school now, she's doing the last bit of her GCSE work from home and warwickshire college, she has her emo fringe dyed purple and a fabulously striking sense of style - you wouldn't lose her in a crowd easily, let's put it that way!

I hope all of you are well, I'm sure there must be more recent messages for Sept 05 so I'm going to have a nose!

love to you all xxx xxx

mummyhill · 02/08/2007 21:22
