Hi Mummyhill

Hoping the weather will stick till tomorrow when I'm off. Not so bothered about the weekend - I'm in CenterParcs at a Hen Party. Won't get to see much sun as will be under cover of trees all weekend.

Having TWO nights away from DH and DDs. Trying not to think what the house will be like when I return!

How are things with you?

Mamama - how're you doing?

Hello!

A quick visit as Rachel has woken up!

Sorry to hear things have so difficult with work. I really don't know why any modern company thinks threatning and bullying someone with anxiety will help - it can only ever make it worse. Take care x

Hi all, had two good days in a row. I am happily sewing baby carriers, reusable nappies and gro bag style sleeping bags for my kids, my neice and friends children. The house is slowly getting better.

I am back at the GP's Monday.

Hi all,

Have been signed off for a further 4 weeks.

Many people on the playground have suggested that i work for myself making cushions, curtains, baby carriers and kids clothes. Would I be insane to even contemplate it?

MH - Sounds like you've already got potential customers - half the battle! Why don't you start it off as a hobby (I know you've been making stuff for your sister and friends) and see how it goes. And if it's something you enjoy doing, it sounds good to me!

SR - would you recommend working for yourself? How's it going with you?

Hello!

I find working for myself hard - but then I didn't get to grow the business at my own pace - if I had done that it would have been better. Work can also be erratic (sp?) very very busy interchanged with quiet no money phases!

Hello.

Got my first booking for a real nappy talk at the local childrens centre. They want me to go in every 6 weeks starting next month to talk to new mums about the benefits of using cloth nappies.

Well, good for you MH! You'll have to change your name to clothnappysRus before long. I'm guessing you'd be able to drum up some custom from the children's centre. Are you getting any payment for the talks? Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you'll soon be able to dump your employers.

Just be careful you don't overdo it and make sure you have time to spend with D and N.

SR - how goes it with you? My bikini diet is nearly at an end (because I go on hols in a week, not because I've reached my target weight!) I've probably lost about 7 or 8 pounds. Hope Rachel is doing ok.

Mamama - how're things going over there?

A has started the terrible twos. We have full-on lying face down on the floor kicking sessions. But I am finally getting to spend some quality time with her without DD1 who has started going to nursery on Fri mornings. We have a lovely couple of hours together when I take her to a music group and generally tootle around the local shops chatting about what we should have for lunch. It's the first time I've had her to myself since I went back to work over a year ago, and it's lovely.

I shall build it slowly. I don't get paid for the talks but I do get commision on any nappies I manage to sell. I am going to contact business link and see if they can give help and advice about setting up a small business making womens and childrens clothes and the mei tai carriers.

Hi MH

How are you?

Sorry not been around. Still mad busy here trying to pack every one of our belongings into cases for hol. Freel like I have been ironing non-stop for a month!

Got your message about the Sutton meet up - thanks! Let me know when you come up with a date and will see how I am fixed in Aug as mum is away and I have to juggle around days at work to cover childcare. Will email you my number. Hope work are ok with you when your sick note runs out.

I shall go quiet now for a couple of weeks but look forward to catching up with the thread when I get back. Think will be longest I've ever been without MN! Arghhhh!

Morning.

I think that jaamy is on hols, can't remember when she is due back though.

Been away for the weekend.

I am returning to work tomorrow night, but am going to start my little business at the same time. I will run them along side each other and see how it goes. If my stuff takes off I may be able to quit the night/weekend job.

Hello!

I'm back!

Hope everyone and their DCs are all ok.

Had a fab hol though seem to be jetlagged even though we only went to spain!

MH - glad work went ok though hope that your business soon takes of and you can give that other place the big E. Have you done your talks yet?

SR - wow - 6 pounds in 2 weeks. Well done you! I think most of the 10 pounds I lost ( in the 3 months up to my hol!) went back on while we were away. Still a bit in holiday mode so must get back into the healthy eating/exercise routine.

Hi all first talk is looming on the horizon.

Not been doing too well atm so excuse if you get long silences from me. I have been signed back off work as when I did my second shift I freaked out.

Oh MH - sorry to hear you aren't doing so good. I know it's a subject that you are passionate about but do you really thin kyou should be putting yourself through the pressure of doing a talk right now?

I suppose it will give you something else to concentrate on and I hope you do ok. Think your enthusiasm will shine through anyway! Sorry didn't get round to emailing you my number. Will do it today...promise.

All gone a bit quiet here after hol. Work putting pressure on me to do an extra day (4 days instead of 3) but I simply can't afford the childcare - £53 a day! Will have to negotiate if they really want me.

A has been asking to go on the toilet and potty and did her first potty wee last week [proud mummy emoticon!]

mamama · 11/06/2007 05:18

Oooo, potty training - we're not there yet. Well done little A!

Sorry things are tough for you MH - I'm not doing so well either- I'm on my 3rd med change though so hopefully this one will help... Best of luck with your talks

x

Welcome back Idris!

Once a Sept05er, always a Sept05er...though it's gotten a bit quiet on here of late.

Mamama - sending you BIG far away hugs. HAve you got a support network over there - friends, family, etc? Best of luck with the new meds.

Sorry to hear things have been difficult Mamama and MH. Feeling low today - want to cry but I cant - cant muster the energy to! Think my hormones are on the blink!

Glad your holiday was good Sunny! We are away in two weeks time - but my dieting has rather dried up
