HI Everyone!

Had a bit of a hectic week - DD1s 3rd birthday. Lots of fun! But at all the presents - just when we'd managed to find room for all the stuff from Christmas!!
Had a 3 week old baby at the birthday party yesterday...as if I wasn't broody enough already. However, this little girl has a 3 yo brother and a sister 2 months YOUNGER than our los! Could you imagine having a newborn as well as our little darlings, and a 3yo? Their mother is a fellow MNer so if she stumbles across this post I think she won't mind me saying that I think she's very brave and I'm entirely jealous of her ability to cope!

Sending lots and lots of postitive feelings to wabbitt. Please let her know we're all thinking of her, Mummyhill and thanks for keeping us posted on how she's doing.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and not been hit too badly by the bad weather.

Mamama - hope you are both all cosy over there! Pool sounds fab, why on earth is it always empty???

SR - diet gone to pot this week with DD1's birthday and all the extra treats but starting anew tomorrow. How goes it with you??

No ideas for a birthday tea, mummyhill - what type of thing is she expecting?

Report

Haven't got a clue it changes by the hour iyswim.

DOesn't everything have to be fairies and pink at that age? Could you get them to decorate their own fairy cakes and then have them sit down to a "grown up" tea party. Juice poured out of a tea pot into tea cups, etc. Or buy some cheap firy wings and get them to decorate them?

Just an idea. HOpe you have a fab time...

Report
mamama · 01/02/2007 19:58

I too was thinking of a tea party type thing like Jammy. Decorating fairy cakes is a great idea - I was going to suggest decorating cookies, but cakes is better.

Can't remember what I did at that age. One year my mum made some menus and set the dining room up like a restaurant and 'worked' as a waitress taking our orders, bringing drinks, serving our meal etc. I felt very grown up!

I had a fab ballerina cake one year too.

Have you decided what to do yet?

OH no, mummyhill, I hope DD is better soon. Poor thing.

DS is keeping me busy atm - he suddenly has lots of new words and is using them all the time. He's a little chatter box! 'Keys, keys, keys, keys', 'offff, offff, offff'...

He even used his potty last week although it was good timing & luck rather than anything else. When we emptied it in the toilet and flushed it away, he waved goodbye, blew kisses & said his first sentence, 'bye bye poo!'

I'm so proud!

Report
mummyhill · 02/02/2007 16:25

DS is to interested in trying to take things apart and bash stuff to do much talking. Good job we sign a bit else otherwise I think he wouldn't bother to communicate at all atm.

DD will be ok once the AB's kick in the problem for me is controlling her temp. Cause she suffers from asthma I can't give her Ibuprofen as it can trigger an attack.

Hello

I hope dd is feeling better.

Rachel is a real chatter box - I like bye bye poo mamama!!! Me and ds had to laugh when rachel yelled "cheese shoes" yesteday!!!

Sorry to hear DD isn't well MH. Hope she is better for her birthday.

LOL at "bye bye poo!" mamama! A also did the potty thing at nursery last week. They wanted me to bring in some knickers for her to try potty training - she's not even 16 months yet!!!

We get a lot of "off" too. A tends to miss the first letter of most of her words so we get "ooes, ocks, oast, ink" etc for "shoes, socks toast, drink".

DH's birthday today so off for a surprise outing tomorrow. He has no idea where we are going so won't post here in case he hacks in and finds out.

HOe everyone has a lovely weekend.

I have 2 poorly kids now dd still has her cold but her chest is responding well to the antibiotics. DS is full of cold and also on antibiotics for an ear infection. Won't stop them charging around in the snow later when they have driven me stir crazy. Glad we got a sledge before christmas now.

We took her to the wacky warehouse to play and have dinner she had a great time.

Hi everyone.

Hope everyone is well. Is it me or are we getting quieter as children and the rest of the board take over?

Spoke to wabbitt on Friday. Mediation is going as well as can be expected. She is missing mn at the momment but cannot get back on line for a while due to financial constraints. Will try to keep her and you uptodate with whats going on. C is walking well and loved the snow.

My dc are both much better. D managed the signs for baby and brother whilst watching something special with me yesterday.

We had a visit from the health visitor on monday which has resulted in me going back on ADs as she feels that I am not coping very well. I am actually doing better than she seems to think, she just caught me on a bad day. I have agreed to the meds though to keep her off my back especially as she was threatening to call ss if I didn't get meds.

Hopr that all made sense well done for reading this far.

Yes, it has been quiet on here, Mummyhill. Hope all well recovered in your house now. And hope too that the ADs have the desired effect. Flaming HVs...they of all people should know that we all have bad days!. You must be doing something right though, if she has to threaten you with meds before she can call in ss...means everything else ok in your house??

Hello Bubbles! Congrats on your new neice and well done on the Driving test!!

Well, my news is that I think I'm pg...again! A was 16 months old at the weekend and so (obviously!) time to get going on no3!! Always said we'd have another but hadn't planned to give it a go until A turned 2. All the signs are there...swollen boobs, stretchy joints and the same discharge that led me to think I had an STD when I was actually pg with A!! Funny, even after all of the gorey details we posted when we were pg in 2005 it seems really strange wrting stuff like that now! Sorry if tmi.

Anyway, am trying to resist taking a test for a couple of weeks. Only thing bothering me is that we've got an all inclusive holiday booked for May and I wanted to take full advantage of the free alcohol!!

SR - if I am pg, guess that'll put paid to my bikini diet!!

Take care all!
