Good link carrot! How's the wee one this morning?

3 hourly is good honey, no!? Minipopz is a shocking sleeper so my opinion is a little skewed Grin Any improvements on the boobing?

Thanks Dulce! My random bleeding has stopped.... Think I'm in my 2ww. Let the Cray Cray commence!!

Jcandy · 12/03/2016 10:10

Ah sleep! My DP gave G a bottle for her 2am feed last night and I slept in the other room. She didn't need boob till 6am so I've actually managed to sleep more than an hour in a row. He is amazing!

3 hourly is good honey does she sleep in between?

Sorry that she's been ill carrot glad you've got to go home

Jcandy · 12/03/2016 10:15

Hope you figure out your cycle soon popz don't envy you with the tww

Have a glass of wine gouda! You're allowed!! I have one whilst shes feeding to give the maximum amount of time but it really is minimal amounts that get through to the milk as long as you aren't drinking loads.

That's rubbish amount the tests snap surely they are always inconclusive unless positive then.

Hobbit19 · 12/03/2016 14:42

Great work on the sleep JC! DH also did a night feed last night so got 6 hours IN A ROW! Pip has never been horrendous with sleep but almost 3 months of sleeping in 3 hour snatches is taking its toll. Dropped the bombshell to DH that I want him to do a night feed every other night in the Easter Hols. He took it very well bless him.

Carrot, how is baby Carrot doing?

honeysucklejasmine · 12/03/2016 14:49

Lol Popz yeah, I guess! But it was four hourly. Wink still not a keen boober so am also pumping between her feeds.

She did a massive shit earlier. Up the back and everything. Lovely.

CarrotPuff · 12/03/2016 15:06

Yay for sleep JC!

Rpopz she's well, thanks. Just need to be careful when we pick her up as I made her scream when I put my thumb over her nipple before we knew... Sad She didn't settle well in her crib last night, but then slept 6.30-9. That's her typical pattern though.

MIL is staying over tonight to look after DS while we go to hospital. We were seen quite quickly this morning, compared to an hour wait last night. I hope tonight will be better.

CarrotPuff · 12/03/2016 18:38

DP just went out to the shops and asked if I want anything. A spare pair of boobs or new nipples, I said. This feeding saga is getting quite tiring. I suppose I should be happy that my nipples are in much better condition than a week ago, but they are still bloody sore. I have to sleep with a bra because it doesn't move so no friction on nipples. I just want to move to the next stage where I don't associate feeding with pain anymore and it being an enjoyable experience... I probably wouldn't be moaning now had she not have been feeding on and off for the last 1.5 hours...

purpleporpoise · 12/03/2016 21:11

Carrot you're having a rough time, hope things improve soon lovie

Honey boo to more feeding, is she on a leap? Could be a growth spurt too

Popz gx for your TWOT

WB Snap, sorry I didn't manage a link on the new Fred...I'm shit at them! We got B to drink nutramigen by adding a few drops of vanilla extract. It sweetened it and he drank it. Better than honey or sugar anyway. It's only til they get used to it but worth a shot

Dietician on Thursday said we're doing fine with weaning and the variety of foods. She thinks we should start finger food even though he is not fully sitting up independently. He's had carrot, cucumber and mango, not much went in but he's learning. I got one of those net things to put fruit in which he liked. She also said he's having too much milk now and said he needs at least 21oz a day. He has 5 x 8oz bottles but rarely finishes one, so probably more like 35oz per day.
He's got a rotten cold at the moment and wants milk not solid food at teatime, he's still eating breakfast and lunch, but he has diarrhoea and has been coughing then screaming. Calpol did nothing, but nurofen worked and he's in bed now

purpleporpoise · 12/03/2016 21:14

Glad you got some sleep JC, your DP sounds like a gem. Can he make it a regular thing? DH does wake ups on Friday and Saturday nights and it's a massive help

OP posts:
Hobbit19 · 13/03/2016 01:32

Uuuurgh, Carrot the nipple pain is HORRENDOUS. All of the Brew and Cake for you. It's a good sign if it is getting better though. Do you have a boob group to go to? Even tiny latch improvements will help. I also found the Multi Mama nipple compresses from Boots very soothing. (Expensive though!)

B sounds like he is doing well Purple!

Hmmm 1am wake up... This probably means a 5am ish start to the day. Luckily DH is on morning duty so that I can have a lie in! Mwahahaha!

CarrotPuff · 13/03/2016 01:50

Yeah I do but don't think I'll be able to go this week. I'll most likely be on my own and it's during DS's nap time. Unless he has a short early nap.

I'm yet to sleep. O been on the boob pretty much since we got back... Tried to put her down and she started rooting again. And stupid miroid is in bed with me tonight as is fucking snoring Angry

Hobbit19 · 13/03/2016 08:17

Can you get an LC to pop and see you? Snoring is not okay!!

cookielove · 13/03/2016 10:37

Sorry to hear about your lo carrot fx she makes a speedy recovery!

pud what is the compress thing?

purple have you tried toast? E will always eat toast it's one of his favourite ff (finger foods) he also will devour baby crisps, crackers, rice cakes, chips and chilli squid from waga's! Most other things he turns his nose up although we have had some progress with fruit and peas!

E has a temp and a cold but the dr says he is fine, he has had a temp since Monday (sigh)

Got everything crossed for you popz

Hobbit19 · 13/03/2016 12:50

Poor E Sad, hope he feels better soon.

The compress is like a little medicated dressing the you put on your nipples. Bliss after evening cluster feeding.

purpleporpoise · 13/03/2016 17:39

Hope E is better soon.

I got a load of baby snack type things yesterday but not tried them on him yet

OP posts:
DulcetMoans · 13/03/2016 20:06

Some babies just don't take to the finger foods as quickly purple, but persevere!

The relentlessness of feeding in the early days was awful carrot, and one of my main drivers to nearly quitting! If you can get to boob group or get someone over then try, any support is useful - even if it's just sympathy in person!

Three hourly sucks if you've had more honey but it's not too bad for the early stages. I would like it now! Hopefully you'll get back to four hours - or better, 8! We all hope for the 8 hour sleep! May need to start making better use of the DPs like JC. A woman can not survive in so little sleep for so long!

I am feeling crazy on your behalf popz! Hope you get some sort of result soon - knowing where you are would be a start! Now, if you have another boy will you use the name you wanted when 'I' was born?

Snotty noses in your house then cookie? It's all about the coughs here this week! Always some kind of illness.

I am pooped! My eyes sting and body aches. I am thinking I will try for an early night! See what the baby has to say about it...

CarrotPuff · 14/03/2016 11:34

Hope poorly babes get better soon.

Been waiting for our review for 1.5h now... It will be a long day!

CarrotPuff · 14/03/2016 14:57

Finally back home. She's been put on oral abx now, so no need to go to the hospital anymore, yay! We have to keep an eye on her though and go back if there's anything suspicious, but hopefully once we're finished with drugs it will be it.

Nefertitts · 14/03/2016 15:09

Phew, just caught up!

Niff

Dd1, T, 8 weeks

Will continue to post mostly on FB but am trying to follow things on here too!

Nice to see you Gouda and good to hear you're doing better. It's bloody hard work.

Now I need to go to bed. Tiny T is currently sleeping 8:30 to 12, then waking 2, 4, and basically up at 5. And she doesn't sleep in the day unless I'm walking with her in the sling . Haggard.

Hobbit19 · 14/03/2016 18:34

Ouch Niff, that is rough. Does T not sleep in the pram? Bit less work for you than the sling maybe? Don't know if this is helpful or not but P's night sleeping got much better when we got her to sleep more in the day. So maybe focus your energies on that? What times are you trying to get her to nap ?

RPopz · 14/03/2016 20:16

Hope E's better soon cookie! We are all about the incessant snotty noses here.... It's like a tap!

Good luck with your early night Dulcet Grin I don't think we will use that name for another boy. It'll always be "his" name now. I still sometimes call him it as a nickname haha! Blush

Tough times niff. It will get better.

Great news on being discharged carrot! Hope you can have a peaceful few days to recover.

We're moving on Friday finally! Whoop!

DulcetMoans · 14/03/2016 22:08

Yay for moving popz! are you all ready to pack - all your boxes and cellotape and shit! That's the not so fun bit. My house is so full of junk, can't be bothered to move. Early night did not go well yesterday and only just Climbed in now. Expecting wake up shortly. cries

Great news ok getting home carrot. Hopefully lots of cuddles and rest will help too.

That is basically J's wake up routine too niff, only he does a wake up at 10pm-ish and will go back down after 5 until 7ish. It is killer and persistent. I can get him down in the cot in the day now though which helps. We use a dummy and I now put him in the sleep bag for naps which seems to have helped. Hopefully you will be able to detach from Velcro baby in the day a bit soon.

Booked for smear test tomorrow. Eurgh!!

CarrotPuff · 15/03/2016 01:13

Yay for moving popz, it will be a PITA but I guess you'll be glad once it's all over.

Niff Wine

Gx you get a gentle nurse dulcet!

No rest for the wicked... DP back at work tomorrow so I'm flying solo with both of them... Wish me luck!

Nefertitts · 15/03/2016 05:05

It'll be nice to get into your new place popz but in the meantime WineWine the actual moving sucks. I never want to move again!

Good luck carrot on flying solo, I have no idea how you do it with two, and I confess we have er, well, staff.

I hadn't thought the non-sleeping baby was that bad until now! In fact I thought I was fairly lucky! She basically dream feeds at night, so I wake when she stirs, scoop her out of co-sleeper, stick boob in face, she sucks the life out of it for 5-10mins, pops off and back in cot she goes. So although it's frequent it's not particularly painful.

I've tried putting her in a travel cot downstairs for a nap today. In sling at 11, down about 11:20 and she's been asleep in it for 13 minutes so far. Tis a miracle! I really never thought she'd sleep lying down in the day. Is this what other babies do?

jellypi3 · 15/03/2016 06:42

Good luck popz, I vowed I'd never move again after my last house move. I hate it!

niff that sounds rough. Jelly baby sleeps in her sleepy head during the day thankfully (or on someone).

I've got the mother of all ulcers in my mouth, it's agony :(
