I'm shattered. They are better, but haven't been sleeping. Sad

Coconut0il · 12/04/2016 14:41

Christening sounds lovely equimum.

We managed to do a few garden jobs at the weekend but it seems to be looking worse and worse rather than better. Trying not to stress about it and just picture it finished. I'm already eyeing up a swing, slide and sand pit for DS2.

The rubbish sleep is here too fatty. But only on the nights DP is at work the next morning... He has spent so many nights on the settee now which isn't great but at least he gets a full nights sleep. He goes down as I'm trying to keep DS2 upstairs in the dark in the hope he will realise it's no fun getting up at night. He decided that 1-3am was the time to be wide awake last night and even after he went back to sleep he kept crying out. Maybe teeth, who knowsConfused. DP on a late shift tomorrow so DS will probably sleep tonight. Fingers crossed. He's just dropped off for a nap so going to catch up on a few programmes Smile Lap naps have some advantages!

kbro79 · 12/04/2016 17:55

Currently lap napping too. Is probably too late for a nap but just going with it. He eats better when hes not tired and then sleeps (ever so slightly) better if has good dinner.

We had a nice weekend. Popped to Oxford for a little trip. Was v wet but found a shop that stocked Frugi stuff. Managed not to banktupt us but did by a little tshirt and shorts set.

Just been to gp's as ds is constipacted again. Seriously unless he eats just mashed veg he gets blocked up. GP v nice though and said her daughter was a big eater too (DS has a huge appetite) but unlikely to be caused by over feeding. Ds got the giggles bad when she examined his stomach. Was so cute!

Right he is stirring and will be wanting some dinner!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 12/04/2016 20:32

Hi ladies! We had a nice weekend just pottering about and yesterday my nct group went for a lovely walk in the sunshine and a lovely Al fresco lunch :) teeth still coming through and night waking is back and we have coughs but hey Ho! DS is very much needing to be entertained all the time but it means I can play with stacking cups etc. Freelancing stuff is harder to fit in!!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 18/04/2016 22:59

How is everyone? DS is sitting now but Deffo in a wonder weeks leap thingy. It would be a shame if the bar closed. You ladies kept me totes sane in the early days :)

FattyNinjaOwl · 18/04/2016 23:14

I'm here! My phone died on me so I had to get a new one. How is everyone? I'm in bed now, hopefully get a good night's sleep.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 21/04/2016 10:31

Hope you got some sleep fatty! Think we're having a growth spurt here! Just started sitting properly, commando crawling and saying some words it's all happening so fast! Oxford sounds lovely kbro. Went to a nearly new sale last weekend and found tons of stuff! Am attempting to cook more from scratch as well so I can blend more stuff. Trying pizza recipe tomorrow I think!

FattyNinjaOwl · 21/04/2016 11:45

Sleep has not been happening. Honestly thought we had made a break through but he's decided that sleep is overrated after all

We have dada, mama, baba, caca (cam cam aka my brother) and det det det. (Which seems to mean bernadette, DDs name) DS1 is highly annoyed that he doesn't say his name Grin

Coconut0il · 21/04/2016 12:13

Time is going so fast, can't believe DS is 8 months old! He's so much more cheerful now he can move but I feel a little sad that I'll never have a tiny newborn again. It's a strange feeling, I never had it with DS1 even though he was my only for 12 years. Maybe because I always knew there was a chance of a second. I don't even want more than 2 and I hated being pregnant so not sure what it is!

I'm glad DS2 is happier to be getting about but it's sooo tiring chasing him around all day! I set up a lovely foam mat in the garden yesterday, put all his toys on it but no the gravel, the dog, the hose pipe were all more interestingShock Inside his favourite place to go is behind the settee. Had to sell the jumperoo as he's past the weight limit so only have he pushchair and highchair to contain him downstairs and he doesn't like those for long. Have to keep giving him carrot puffs if I need to do a quick job Blush

The nearly new sale sounds good MaGrat Can't beat a bargain. With DS1 we had to buy everything as he was the first baby on both sides but DS2 is the youngest on both sides so we've been given quite a bit.

I really need to get better with cooking, I'm a bit of a hopeless cook but I'm trying to be better.

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weatherSmile

Coconut0il · 21/04/2016 12:19

Oh no fatty. DS2 still not sleeping through but we haven't had a night time party so far this week. We did have a 5am wake up but luckily DP was on a late so he had him till 8 so I could sleep.

Wow to the wordsSmile They grow up so quick!

CraftyPenguin · 21/04/2016 20:11

Hi everyone!

Sorry for my absence. Relocating, dh moving jobs, and having an 8 month old = stressful times!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi in between the chaos of packing! I'm starting to feel quite emotional about the move too, but I know it's for the best.

DD is so much happier now she can crawl and sit herself up from lying down. She babbles non stop too. Sleep is still a killer though!

Hope you and your babies are all well :)

Tindel · 22/04/2016 08:45

Hi all! We are well, although J hasn't pooed since Sunday when we normally get at least one a day. Have just got some puréed prunes into him to see if that makes a difference.

Sleep was going well, but had a shocker last night - he didn't properly go down til gone 10, then up at 1:30 and wouldn't settle for ages, then up ready to go for the day at 5:40. Yesterday morning, I had to wake him up at 9 because we had a train to catch! Cannot understand babies!

Does anyone have any tips on drinking cups? J likes banging them around, but can't really get him to drink from them. We have a doidy cup and a basic Boots one with a spout, but neither are working at the moment

Coconut0il · 22/04/2016 17:34

Busy times for you crafty! Will all be worth it when you're all settled.

DS2 goes 4/5 days without a poo since we started solids. Was quite worried at first but he's definitely not constipated. I've found his worst nights are normally just before he learns something new. The last night time party we had was just before he started to crawl.
DS2 is exactly the same with his water tindel. If he has it he just bangs the cup around. He has a cheap free flow from Tesco. He can sip it if we hold it and tip it for him but he drinks very little. He still has a lot of bf and lots of wet nappies so not too worried.

Has anyone moved on from the infant carrier car seat? We have silver cross simplicity one and the max weight is 29lb. DS2 is 26lb, the weight DS1 was at almost 2Shock so have started looking but it's so confusing. Definitely want a rear facing, any advice?

MaGratgarlik1983 · 22/04/2016 20:15

Crafty exciting times!

Argh sippy cups!! The one we find works best is a boots free flow one but DS really likes the lid off and I guide it for him but sometimes he smacks it and water goes everywhere. Ah well! All the ones where you suck the water from a spout were not very popular!

Had to take the cat to the vets today. Another cat had bitten him in a fight so I've got meds for him!

DS refused to sleep all morning for more than ten mins. He's just started sitting and then later this afternoon he finally crawled!! Woo!! Then I managed to make homemade pizzas :)

kbro79 · 22/04/2016 22:38

Homemade pizza yummy. I keep meaning to do that for DS.

Sippy cups - we have a free flow boots one. Up until this week DS would only drink from it when I held it and only take a tiny bit but this week he has got it!

Constipation - we stir ellies prunes pouch into everything. Ds is so easily constipated bless him. Took him to the gps. She gave us some medication but in general said not to worry.

Sleep - is getting better. Light years away from sleeping through but I think we have broken the 2 hourly pattern (please god let this not be jinxing it)

We've spent week researching childminders. Got a few lined up next week to meet. Ahhhhh time is moving to fast!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 24/04/2016 10:19

It's a really simple recipe I found on BBC good food site. Just 200g plain flour, 7g dry yeast and 125ml warm water to make the south and you don't have to leave it to rise or anything!

MaGratgarlik1983 · 03/05/2016 21:07

Oops broke thread with recipe chat!

Equimum · 07/05/2016 07:43

Looks like everyone's defected Sad

Coconut0il · 07/05/2016 12:19

I haven't! DS2 just into everything and has decided naps and sleep is for wimps Shock so haven't really had any time to post! Have had 2 shockers of nights, DS2 not gone to sleep till nearly midnight then so overtired he's waking loads. Last night he finally went to sleep in the pushchair and I slept on settee, upstairs he just wakes DS1. Sooo tired out today!

CraftyPenguin · 07/05/2016 20:48

Hi everyone, how are you all? How gutting this thread seems to be winding to a close :(

I'm sorry for my absence. We still don't have any proper internet in the new house. It's been the most stressful move ever :( DD is very clingy too, hopefully things will settle down soon.

Tindel · 09/05/2016 07:16

crafty I have decided I'm never moving house again! Hope things calm down for you soon.

We have been ridiculously busy recently, but sleep is improving - only about 45 minutes to settle at night and only one wakeup for a feed, which I can deal with for now.

Currently down in Devon for a long weekend away with friends who have a baby close to J's age. It has been lovely - J slept pretty well in the travel cot, although he's a bit snotty now, so brought him in with us to prop him upright. Forgot this is not our massive Ikea bed we have at home and currently perched on the edge of the bed with J and DH snoring away! Might go do some packing - can't believe how much stuff we ended up bringing...

CraftyPenguin · 31/05/2016 21:36

What a shame this thread isn't going anymore :(

MaGratgarlik1983 · 01/06/2016 08:04

I was thinking the same thing! In some ways it's harder now as DS is so mobile be nice to have you lot to chatter to but fb group wasn't for me! How are you crafty?

CraftyPenguin · 01/06/2016 10:02

I agree, it'd be lovely to still chat to everyone and compare notes etc cos I still don't have a clue what I'm doing 😂

I'm ok thanks. We're all moved in now so trying to settle into life here; new routines, joining baby groups, finding nice walks etc. My ml has now ended so I'm officially a sahm. Just had blood taken this morning too as I'm still not right! DD is doing well. She's crawling everywhere and is doing new things all the time! How are you getting on?

MaGratgarlik1983 · 03/06/2016 23:21

Yep DS is pulling himself up on everything so it's full on!! I'm not going back either but am trying to freelance however that involves evening work- only just turned off the laptop!! Crazy. And DS is always up
Super early eek! It's our wedding anniversary and my bday next week though :)
