Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 10th Just Mumming thread...following the trials and tribulations of our babies, following the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 43rd grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

The previous Just Mumming thread is HERE

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Aw La Sad Mega hugs. Its all the more difficult when the decision is taken out of your hands. Is that with the pump you've got nothing? It is possible to relactate and i'd think it'd be highly likely you can since you're still feeding from the other side. Keep pumping and letting him suckle on there if you can. Hopefully once he's over his cold and you get your lump sorted things will improve.... Xxx

Lolz at your middle-class baby Dulcet I buy the ready made fruit pouches and baby snacks occasionally. They're really convenient for on the go. Ella's kitchen, Organix and Aldi stuff seems to be quite "clean". No nasties.

It's possible he's trying to get some money off... I was pleasantly surprised by his original offer tbh so there's room to manoeuvre if needs be.

Not sure if we will ever be able to replicate last night's success but it's a start!

Speaking of sleepy times - does anyone use 3.5 tog grobags?

ZylaB · 30/01/2016 20:02

dulcet we're having a family party on the day before her birthday because it's a Sunday and her birthday will be Monday.

la someone at one of my groups has an 11 month old and had issues with kne of her boobs and ended up feeding exclusively from one boob for 10 months and still is, so don't worry too much! Boobs are amazing and if left boob does stop producing, right will compensate! (Hope this reassures you!)

ZylaB · 30/01/2016 20:05

Oh dulcet - Hannah loves loves avocado, she devoured half a one with her sandwich at lunch if I give it to her. We also do mango etc :). My diet when I was young was rubbish..in that I said I didn't like anything, I'm determined that she can try stuff, so she's had bits of sun dried tomatoes with roast veggies etc etc ;). It's good! Variety is good!

ZylaB · 30/01/2016 20:08

And I also do the baby snacks, the kiddilicious wafers, Ella's kitchen crisps etc.. All 'no added' and nice and easy. She's on to sultanas at the moment though, and dried mango (which she sucks then it falls out!), but still likes the wafers and they don't make much mess so are a good snack if we go out. Though I often take cooked carrot sticks and cucumber sticks in case any of the mums look at me funny lol

purplewhale · 30/01/2016 21:14

We got Aldi pouches, they are bigger than Ella's kitchen and half the price. 120g for 59p as opposed to 90g for a quid.
B has had baby rice twice now and cried and spat it out both times. Haven't given him any today as we've been out all day.
I don't know whether to try a few more times then move onto carrot, or just forget baby rice for a while.

Told DH tonight I want another baby next year. I might change my mind between now and then though. B is sleeping more now and being so cute and adorable at the moment. I know he probably won't stay that way

Essie I have the same thoughts about water babies. B hates being dunked. He was fine til I had to let go of him under water. He didn't get dunked at all this week, he hated the whole session. We've got a photo shoot coming up and I don't think he will do it. The instructor said to see how he is next time. I feel like the worst mum ever for making him do something he hates. He used to love it so we signed up for the next term. Now I wish I hadn't Sad

RPopz · 30/01/2016 22:58

Maybe skip the rice then purple? It has no nutritional value anyway. Something sweet like parsnip or sweet potato might whet his appetite.

I want another baby now. I'm so broody at the moment. That would involve my OH actually realising I existed unfortunately. Another evening spent sat watching him stare into his phone for hours on end. Its like fucking groundhog day.

DulcetMoans · 31/01/2016 03:43

Yeah, you don't have to start with baby rice purple so you could skip it. Maybe try him with some veg and see how he reacts. If it's the same he might just not be quite ready and need a week or two. How did DH react to the prospect of another then? Guessing it wasn't a no!

Have you had the baby chat with him popz? Just wondered how he thinks you will achieve it when he's in phone land. I guess in the good old days of JSing we would have worked on them with nakedness and suggestion but it's not exactly sexy to feel you are tearing him away from his phone to spend time with you. Hoping for another good sleep for you tonight anyway!

Family party sounds lovely zyla, will you need to be hostess though and stressed out making finger food or can you keep it quite laid back? I am mainly trying to give him different food experiences like you say, this BLW is pretty good for doing that and being disorganised like me and does make you look at what you are eating! He tends to grab stuff you have now so having to say 'no, you can't have a chip' sounds a bit hypocritical! Will make us all healthier again hopefully!

In our weaning session we did look at a couple of packets of food, including and Ella's Kitchen. She basically said that they are not perfect but as good as they are going to get for being close to natural. The list of ingredients was very small which was good.

Just done a feed and sat in his room before going back to bed - he's so shuffly! Throwing his head one side to the other - looks violent!

Hobbit19 · 31/01/2016 06:22

Ooh Purple and Rpopz; that's exciting on.the new baby front! I am a bit scared of giving birth again which is a shame as my labour was fine, but I still can't walk more than a couple of miles 5 weeks PP and I think I am going to die every time i do a poo and the idea of another tear is enough to put me off for some time to come!

I have been dreaming this eve for the first time since having P. Weird! They keep waking me up too which is really annoying!

Hobbit19 · 31/01/2016 08:51

Also, I am considering amputating my right boob. Got boob club tomorrow so will ask for more help. I might just express from it today instead of feeding. Meh.

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 31/01/2016 09:37

Ffs my DH is a cretin at times. I just went out and left him with ds for an hour. As I walked out the door ds did a poo so I asked dh to change him. I've just got home. DS is asleep. As soon as I walked in the front door I could smell dirty nappy so I asked dh if he'd changed him and no, he forgot. Poor ds has only just got over a bout of nappy rash as is now asleep in his own shit. All I wanted was an hour to myself. Rant over.

Another crap night last night so I'm probably a little less forgiving than usual. Angry

Can I ask you all about weaning. I plan to start at 6 months. So is that 6 calendar months, or 6 months in weeks? I.e. 24 weeks?

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 31/01/2016 09:38

pud so sorry to hear your boob is still broken. Hope boob group can help. You have my sympathy.

purplewhale · 31/01/2016 11:36

I had planned 6 months but we were told do purée at 4 by dietician. Think I'll try carrot today and see how it goes. He might not like baby rice!
DH is still refusing to discuss another baby, and says can we get over this one first...I said if we wait til he's 18 we'll be retiring!

purplewhale · 31/01/2016 12:57

He liked the carrot, and had a few spoons of it Smile
Sweet potato tomorrow Smile

purplewhale · 31/01/2016 12:58

Essie how can they forget when it stinks! I'd be having words!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 31/01/2016 13:16

purple I know! I could smell it as soon as I walked in the door! He had him napping in the sling as well so the smell was strapped onto him! It's not the first time he's 'forgotten' to change him. He's always so flaming distracted by sport. Today it was the effing tennis. Anyway, DS survived and I got an hour out of the house on my own so I suppose I ought to pull myself together.

Think I'll wait another couple of weeks re weaning. He can't quite sit up on his own but he's nearly there, plus he has a cold so probably not best to try and learn to swallow nosh when awash with snot.

pud I couldn't walk very far for weeks PP. I had a fairly awful epi, I ventured a look at the scar for the first time last week, 22 weeks PP now, bloody hell, scar is massive! Shock, no wonder I couldn't sit down walk for ages. All fine now. The sensation is almost back to normal too, but at 5 weeks all normal function was out of the window, so hang in there. I too am dreading the possibility of going through that again. I'll need a while to begin to contemplate it! I've got to sort out my stomach muscles too as they are buggered.

In other news I fell over yesterday, I felt like a right tit. I landed on my arse on concrete. Luckily not holding baby at the time. My bum hurts today and I grazed my elbow.

Hobbit19 · 31/01/2016 15:45

Oh no, sorry about your sore bum Essie!

Here is a link for inner core exercises for your stomach, I just need to find time to do them!

www.runnersworld.com/injury-prevention-recovery/help-for-pelvic-floor-dysfunction?cid=soc_Runner%27s%20World%20-%20RunnersWorld_FBPAGE_Runner%E2%80%99s%20World__Health_Fitness

I have baby sick in my bra but P has finally gone to sleep after an 8 hour cluster feed so I'm not moving. This did not help the boob!!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 31/01/2016 17:06

pud Those exercises look useful, it's so hard finding time to do them though isn't it! I've got separation of my stomach muscles, it was >4cm immediately after delivery but I've got it down to 1.5cm now, but it doesn't seem to be closing up any more, which apparently leaves me at risk of a hernia. I was referred for more physio but had a total mare the day I went for the first assessment session cos DS screamed and we got gridlocked into the frigging car park and there were no spaces so I went home in a flap, once I'd managed to get back out of the car park! Hoping to get a private referral on DHs medical insurance but not sure it'll be covered. It might all be pointless anyway cos if/when I have another baby it'll probably all tear again?

RPopz · 31/01/2016 17:26

Thanks for the link pud.

Did you do anything nice with your hour off essie?

I feel sick as a dog today. Really hoping I haven't caught minipopz's bug. He's been all over the place this week.

Dreading tomorrow viroids SadSad Think positive house vibes for me!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 31/01/2016 17:39

Mustering positive house vibes for you popz, really hope it works out. Selling houses and moving is so stressful even without idiot purchasers messing you about. Hope you don't get the bug. I've (I think) managed to avoid the one little llama currently has. Hope you feel better soon.

I shoveled horse shit and washed a very muddy tail in my hour off! Probably sounds bonkers, but actually was good therapy. Grin

DS slurped and licked about 1/2 oz of ebm from a sippy cup this evening. Doesn't sound like much but this is a major achievement in the llama household! I've given up with bottles now. Hoping I can get him going on the sippy cup instead. My Mum has offered to have him for a few hours so I can do some KIT days so he needs to be willing to drink from something other than me if I'm going to do that. Has anyone else had any luck with bottle refusers and sip cups?

purplewhale · 31/01/2016 21:57

B is in his own room tonight. We had to do it, he's too big for his crib now and wakes up when he bashes the sides. We've got an angelcare movement monitor and a video monitor we can see on our iPads. We lowered the cot base and shaved a bit of the bottom of his door so it doesn't scrape on the carpet
He's still not asleep though!

purplewhale · 31/01/2016 21:58

Gx for the house Popz

Jcandy · 31/01/2016 22:25

I'm in bed as dp has some expressed milk to give G but I can't sleep! It's typical, I'll be knackered later. G has been really unsettled the last 24 hours. Her bum is still really sore from the thrush. I also had a bit of dairy on Friday and Saturday so don't know if it's related, her bum seems more sore today and her poo is watery and mucusy. But who knows! Got her BCG vaccine tomorrow which I'm really not looking forward to.

Good luck for tomorrow popz hope it's good news

Great work on the food purple and hope you both get some sleep!

Fingers crossed with the soppy cup essie it's great that he's managed to drink from it

purplewhale · 31/01/2016 22:38

He's asleep in his own room. I feel very weird about the empty crib next to me.
I'm out tomorrow, should I take his sweet potato with me? I won't be able to warm it up. He could have it at teatime, I don't suppose it matters.

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 01/02/2016 08:17

How was everyone's night?
Lousy here. DS is a leaping teething snotty wreck.

Please can I borrow someone's patio as I don't have one. I need somewhere to put my DH. Not only did he eat hagaan daz after I'd gone to bed he left the fecking freezer door ajar so the whole contents of the freezer, the contents of which currently keeps us alive, is now defrosted.

LaLaLaaaa · 01/02/2016 11:24

I'm shite at keeping up. Having to express bad boob every 2 hours as well as fit in boob feeds, naps and meals. No time for MN :(

In sitting in hospital waiting for my boob scan
