Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 10th Just Mumming thread...following the trials and tribulations of our babies, following the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 43rd grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

The previous Just Mumming thread is HERE

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Toast he cried for about 5 mins after and has been fast asleep on me for the last 2 hours. So taking advantage of the snuggles and watchin tv

kbb23 · 05/01/2016 14:56

So not so bad so far

Hobbit19 · 05/01/2016 15:21

Ouchy, poor babies having their jabs. Not looking forward to those!

Can I just check that I have the right idea with breastfeeding? So, offer left boob, when she comes off offer the same boob again, maybe twice. Then if still awake/hungry offer the dreaded right boob of pain. Then next time start with the dreaded right boob of pain. Yar?

DulcetMoans · 05/01/2016 16:35

Not really sure what I'm thinking yet toast - need to work it out too and no idea how! But possible back after 10mnths but back staggered so 2 days a week for a few weeks, the 3 then up to 4 using holiday. (Ps. Think baby cinema will be busy tomorrow so you might want to book in the morning - I've never tried but the man said you can!)

I don't know about your circumstances kbb but think its every 3 years after turning 25. 21 in Wales.

Sounds about right pud. Offer the first one again to try drain it, or offer it second go. Sounds like a hardcore session.

Given up on a nap upstairs, stuck under baby on sofa now. Why won't he nap upstairs now?! He was doing so well!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 05/01/2016 18:42

Why can't I feed my baby to sleep at bedtime?! He will feed to sleep during night wake ups but not during the day or at bedtime. Slinging him to sleep at bedtime is a pain cos it's knackering when all I want to do is sit down and I still have to get him into his grobag. He never feeds calmly during the day.

Jcandy · 05/01/2016 19:11

Just been to see the GP who says she can't feel any big holes and that my stitches seem to be healing ok. Could be a small hole that's allowing air to pass through but nothing else (thank god! Shitting through my vagina would be one step too far!) Just got to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or I have signs of an infection I have to go back

ZylaB · 05/01/2016 19:43

Argh, H didn't sleep well at all last night :(. Not functioning, will catch up later or tomorrow

Pisghetti · 05/01/2016 20:36

kbb I had a LLETZ treatment in 2004 and had annual smears for seven years. My final annual smear in 2011 was borderline so had to get it checked out but no treatment was necessary however I was put back on an annual schedule for the following seven years. I missed my smear last year because I was pregnant and this year they've found CIN3 cell changes so I have to have another LLETZ. I'll continue on another course of annual smears then. I'm more than happy to have them annually. What if I hadn't been due a smear until next year Confused

kbb23 · 05/01/2016 20:57

Thanks pis if they only do annual for 7 years then that could have been it. As much as i dislike them there was something quite reassuring about having them yearly.

Hobbit19 · 06/01/2016 10:59

Argh, leaky boobs!!

Good news about your vaj-ay-jay JC. Grin On the advice of the doctor I check my stitches with a mirror every day for swelling/infection. It's oddly reassuring.

I made my own breakfast this morning. #smallvictories!

purplewhale · 06/01/2016 11:14

Hurray for foof JC and breakfast Pud

B is on the mend thankfully. He started to perk up yesterday and is much better today. He actually slept in his crib and I got some sleep in my bed too. Had to cancel plans for today as I don't want to pass it on to any of the babies. Might venture a trip to Tesco later. He's still coughing lots but is otherwise happy and smiley again :-)

cookielove · 06/01/2016 12:15

Hello all :)

We have another tooth, that's 12 now! He has been grouchy today so I gave calpol before his (early) lunch and he is now in bed. He has been ridiculously happy the last couple of days so fx once this tooth is properly through he will return to my happy boy!

Glad there are no holes jc even though I have had stiches there I didn't even think that was possible Shock

essie do you have a co-sleeper? Can you fed him to sleep at night and then slide him over? Or is he actually just refusing to sleep?

DulcetMoans · 06/01/2016 13:16

Smear test letter.... Nooooo! I've been poked so much already!

purplewhale · 06/01/2016 13:35

Ha Dulcet i had one Christmas week, with swabs to check for infection, then a mirena fitted last week. My foof got more interest than it did when I was pregnant!

LaLaLaaaa · 06/01/2016 15:49

Hi!

Hope babies with jabs are ok! Cuddles and more cuddles poor squishes

Pud - that's the gist of it! I block feed because of fast letdown so I do right then right then left then left.

Also stuck under sleeping baby. I have to admit I don't even try to put him down during the day anymore because it's the only time I get down time to check Facebook etc! Bad La. Plus he's cute.

Dulcet - I'm also thinking about going back at 10 months and I've asked my manager for a meeting to discuss options like compressed hours or part time staggered return.

How was your first day back pis?

Purple so glad he's improving! Cough was the last bit for B and he got better fast after that. Well done on abstaining from baby groups - my pet hate is folk bringing sick babies (or themselves) to baby groups because I'm so sick of B being ill!

Stitches chat scares me! I've got belly stitches can't imagine what foof ones would be like!

Cookie 12 teeth wow! I'm still waiting for one to pop out. I'm sure it's any day now!

I had smear before Christmas but they fucked it up at the lab so I've got to have it redone - arrrrgh! Good luck dulcet

Ooh interesting updates from the health visitor re breastfeeding: baby should only be on one breast for 20 - 30 minutes max. After that they are just chewing on not a lot and I should be switching breasts. Hopefully this will be more efficient and I won't be doing three hour feeds (disclaimer: apart from cluster feeding where they go back and forth)

Hobbit19 · 06/01/2016 16:48

Glad B is improving Purple, it must be horrible when they are poorly.

Flowers to all of you with smear tests. Definitely worth treating yourself to cake afterwards.

LaLaLaaaa · 06/01/2016 16:50

Pud I'm afraid that's absolute bollocks!!!!!

OP posts:
LaLaLaaaa · 06/01/2016 16:54

Midwife in hospital tried to tell me to do 10 mins one side then switch to 10 min other side. If I were to do that then baby would never get hind milk

OP posts:
LaLaLaaaa · 06/01/2016 16:58

Reason why it's bollocks - it's supply and demand. Breasts never empty. And every woman's supply is different. My baby feeds for 3 mins and gets what he needs. Other babies feed for an hour (fleur for example). You can't put a time on it. You'll come to feel when it's time to switch. At the moment your baby is cluster feeding to build your supply so it may feel like she's sucking on empty but it's an important part of establishing bf

LaLaLaaaa · 06/01/2016 17:03

Or maybe I'm wrong? Now I'm doubting myself!!!! More experienced viroids am I wrong? If so I'm so sorry pud!

OP posts:
LaLaLaaaa · 06/01/2016 17:06

this explains it

Hobbit19 · 06/01/2016 17:24

Gah! I just came back on to say that I read on ncbi that the 20 min thing was rubbish but you've beaten me to it!! So confusing with all this conflicting advice!! Trying to read the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding but am not getting very far through it! MEH

Hobbit19 · 06/01/2016 17:26

I think there is 'some' truth to what HV said in my circumstances as P is spending a lot of time on boob but not necessarily sucking/swallowing so I need to keep her awake on there and then she will fees more efficiently.
