Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 10th Just Mumming thread...following the trials and tribulations of our babies, following the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 43rd grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

The previous Just Mumming thread is HERE

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Boo Ga, that is annoying. We seem to keep soaking through nappies on a night time even if I change her half way through the night.

JC, that's awesome! We haven't managed a day time nap since DH went back to work but I have a new strategy: Previously I have been so desperate for sleep that I have spent the morning trying to feed P to sleep. So she'll feed for 5/10 minutes, close her eyes, I put her in her crib for 5 minutes, she wakes up and we start again. What I realised yesterday is that she is neither hungry or tired when I do this and then is not getting a proper feed/sleep at any point because I keep giving her 5 minute too ups. Yesterday I read about the EASY method; Eat, Awake, Sleep, You time (ha ha). This makes so much more sense as she can tell me when she is tired and I am not feeding her to sleep either which is probably a good thing. I think it will be better for my supply if she is doing full feeds too. Tonight she had a bottle of em from DH at half 8 then a big old feed from me at 11 and then slept for 3.5 hours (I know!! A record!!) So I wonder of normally she isn't getting full on an evening?

LaLaLaaaa · 21/01/2016 07:41

Hi all

I'm reading but not getting chance to reply. Feel rubbish - fell down stairs with B yesterday. Feel like I've done ten rounds with Tyson. Luckily baby is ok.

Mucous nappies can be teething or cold. We get them a lot here

Catch up later nice to see fleur!

Hi fleur hi ga! Long time no see!

Glad the road trip was a success essie! Smile

Hooray for no puke cookie! Hopefully he's over whatever it was now.

Its all about the small wins Pud Smile I always do night feeds lying down in bed and have done for some time.... It maximises on sleep! Your mum spidey sense will stop you from squishing her. Just make sure she isn't between you and DH because they don't have the same spidey sense. And keep pillows/ duvets out of the way.

How's the not feeding him in the night going dulce? What do you do instead?

Got a smear test this aft.... What a lovely birthday present!! Confused

RPopz · 21/01/2016 11:45

Hope work goes ok La!! I would've rescheduled!

Fleurchamp · 21/01/2016 14:46

Smear on your birthday?!?illegal surely?

Hope you're ok la

I have a KIT day next week. I don't wanna gooooo Sad

S is asleep. In his cot and I am researching family friendly holidays 😂 Bit different to our usual jaunts - i cant see DH being too impressed with my research - he is a trek and camping type definitely not a package kids club man.

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 21/01/2016 19:56

Hi all.

popz happy birthday, sorry about the celebratory smear.

fleur how did you get on with hols? We've got a villa in lanzarote in may with my parents. V excited as not been on hols for quite some time. Sorry to hear about your kit day. Hope it goes ok. I've done a couple and it always feels like I've never been away. la how was yours? How are you feeling?

Has anyone elses taste buds been weird since having a baby? I totally went off meat when I was upduffed, and since having ds I'm still not enjoying it. We had shepherds pie tonight and it tasted of wool. Someone gave me a wool scarf for Christmas and the pie tasted the same as the scarf smells. Previously I'd have just eaten and enjoyed the pie! I feel like I can taste way more than I used to.

LaLaLaaaa · 21/01/2016 20:05

I've got mastitis!

Will catch up soon. Need to lie down, feel shite

DulcetMoans · 21/01/2016 20:42

God la, it never rains but it pours at your house does it?! Is your mum coming down or anything? You sound like you could use a break!

My tastes changes a bit essie, but not in a useful way. I bloody love chocolate now and I was always more savoury before getting pregnant. Nothing has quite tasted liked clothing though!

la read up on that EASY method pud. It seems to make sense. Gradually the gaps between get bigger - so J does a longer A section now than at the beginning but we still tend to work through it in about 2-3hrs.

Hope you're feeling between fleur and you had a lovely first Christmas together!

I'm not sure we are getting far with the not feeding popz. I mean, I am doing it, but the ultimate aim is to try and get him to go longer than 2 hours and it's not really working. We are trying to give him a bottle on first wake up but he keeps being sick and on one of the early morning wake ups (like 3-4am) I can cuddle him to sleep, he seems ok with that, but he still wakes up an hour later or so. It's a mess! How was your birthday smear? Did they stick a candle in it after for you? Blow it out with a fanny fart! Cake

What did Chrisbrooks have to say? In intrigued!

purplewhale · 21/01/2016 21:57

Shit La, hope you feel better soon Thanks

How does the EASY thing work. Do you have to train them?

Fleurchamp · 21/01/2016 22:07

Ha yes and happy birthday!

I am looking at Portugal essie DH is a surfer and so I am hoping I can placate him with some swell. Lanzarote is lovely, I have been a few times (DH's surfing!) it's my favourite of the canaries. You will have a fab time I am sure!

We have followed EASY but getting Y hasn't really started to happen until recently. It depends on nap length as to how we work through it and so it varies from 2-4 hrs. I like it though and has helped me to stop feeding to sleep.

Sorry to hear that sleep isn't improving dulcet - is he waking up every 2 hours for a feed or just comfort? S's sleep is still really erratic but seems to be on an upward roll at the moment she says, completely jinxing herself I honestly thought by 6 months he would be sleeping through 😂

Yeah chrisbrooks what did you say?!?

Toast85 · 21/01/2016 23:47

Chrisbrooks just said something about a blog and put a link to it. It didn't really make sense.
I'm sat here pumping away as I've got what I assume is a blocked duct. Basically half of one of my boobs feels rock hard and sore. It's also making my arm go a bit numb, I guess the swollen bit must be pressing on a nerve. I've massaged and pumped and massaged and pumped but can't really say it's much better and haven't managed to drain it. Hope I'm not going to get mastitis too. La hope you're feeling better by the morning. Do you have antibiotics?

Toast85 · 21/01/2016 23:48

Happy birthday pops!

Hobbit19 · 22/01/2016 01:46

Lordy, Flowers to all of you with poorly boobs!

I'm feeding P in bed and she just kicked DH in the head! Hee hee serves him right for being asleep! Smile

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 22/01/2016 02:51

So sorry to hear about all the broken boobs. I had mastitis a couple of times its the pits. All I can say is keep going, keep feeding and expressing and massaging. I found pumping didn't help as it somehow didn't empty the right bit of boob. Took me a couple of days to clear it both times. Poor viroids.

gaggiagirl · 22/01/2016 02:57

Fucksake!!!!! DD has got a water infection again I think (see facebook thread) aarrrgghh I've just been up mopping wee from the bathroom floor and triple J is buzzing now. DD is back to bed but sobbing because she got wee on her penguin. DP is on nightshift at work. I'm thirsty. That is all.
la mastitis!!!! You poor thing have you called on Dr boob on FB?

gaggiagirl · 22/01/2016 02:59

essie I totally understand the taste bud change. I went right off meat too. I'm sort of back on it now but it made me vommy for a while.

Jcandy · 22/01/2016 03:08

Yesterday must have been the day of the sore nork as I too have mastitis. The shivering has stopped now and feel better after a little bit of sleep.

Oh ga it doesn't sound like you're having a very good night. Why is it always the way that it goes wrong when you're on your own. Hope you get it all sorted.

Haha pud may there have been some encouragement there.....

Hobbit19 · 22/01/2016 04:00

Oh no, poor CG, I'm so sad that she got wee on her penguin!

Middle of the night cluster feeding here. 2.5 hours and counting. Including pulling on and off the nipple and lots of angry arm thrashing. Fml.

P has been sick loads today, at least once after every feed. Nappies suggest she is hydrated but I will mention it to HV when we see her tomorrow. We have had a lot of costume changes today!

Purple, re the EASY method I don't know much about it but I wasn't planning on doing any training as such? Just using it to give some loose structure to our day.

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 22/01/2016 05:56

I think I vaguely go with the easy routine too, though ds is such a gannet its more like EAESY on an approx 3 hour cycle.

Hope the sore boobs are improving.

We were up at 2am and 5am with poo. No idea why he is still pooing so much. Started when he had a cold but he's well over that. He's pooing about 10 times in 24 hours. He seems ok in himself.

ga poor dd, poor you and poor penguin! Sad

Hang in there with the cluster feeding pud.

Fleurchamp · 22/01/2016 06:09

toast you poor thing! Do you have a white dot/ blister on your nip? When I had a blocked duct I had a bleb which almost completely blocked the whole boob. As soon as I got rid of it (by rubbing with a hot flannel) the milk shot out. However I had left it too long and I got mastitis Sad

I also had an achy arm and any movement was v painful Flowers

What is it with all the sore boobies?!?

Poor CG ga hope she gets better soon.

LaLaLaaaa · 22/01/2016 08:10

Morning! I'm catching up from the last week. Currently lying in bed. I have mastitis but I've got to go to hospital in an hour to get my dodgy mole looked at by a dermatologist. If any of you have moles that changed colour or shape during pg go get them checked! I don't feel as ill as I did yesterday so hopefully the antibiotics are working. Got to massage the lump in the shower.

Difficult week for us. On Sunday B had a temperature and was very obviously teething as he was bright red, gnawing on hands and screaming. He just wanted to be on me all day so we had a duvet day. Next day he was perfectly fine. On Wednesday I went to my friends house with lots of mum friends and babies. B again wasn't feeling well and threw up two feeds consecutively. Got home and went to change his nappy. I was on my way back downstairs with him when I stood on the cat who was on the stairs unbeknown to me and we went flying. I managed to he onto B and throw myself backwards to take the brunt of it but when I tried to get up I fell again and he went slightly sideways and may have hit his forehead in the stairs. I was really shocked so my first instinct was to try and feed him but he was sleepy (prob due to the lack of feed and temperature). So I thought it best to take him to hospital to get him checked. We were sent by GP to minor injuries clinic. Got there and the rude receptionist said we should have gone straight to A&E which is 45 min away. By now I'd fed B and he projectile vomited it back up all over waiting room. I told her no way was I driving him further without gym getting checked first so nurse saw him. They then said we'd need to be sent in ambulance. So second time in his little life B rode in an ambulance! The guys were lovely and funny and reassured me he seemed fine. Got to hospital and Dr checked him and said he had a virus and otherwise was fine. Phew! So we went home

I woke up next morning yesterday feeling awful - achy, sore, headache, shivery. I banged my head and hurt my back falling down the stairs so I thought it was just the effects of that, but I got worse as day went on. By last night I had fever and was very unwell. Found a lump in my boob that B has been refusing to feed from recently so u was relieved to find it is mastitis. Much better than the alternatives (flu or head injury). Phoned NHS 24 who arranged antibiotics and I feel a bit better today. Lump is still there though.

Need to go to hospital, will catch up later

You got antibiotics by ringing 111 La? I didn't know that could happen, what a great system!

Hope your mole is nothing and that you feel better soon!

Shattered here. P still feeding and being a bit angry....
