Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 10th Just Mumming thread...following the trials and tribulations of our babies, following the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 43rd grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

The previous Just Mumming thread is HERE

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Well done on the expressing and bottle feeding Smile

We've got snow in Yorkshire. There's about 3-4 inches on our culdesac
Hopefully the main roads are clear as we're off to the in laws later

I went shopping yesterday and bought mittens and hats for B. I got told off by mum that his hat didn't cover his ears. I also thought that when he goes in the pushchair he needs warmer clothes.

ZylaB · 17/01/2016 09:29

popz I'm going to try ICs instead of the cbfm because of the price, but I've never used them before! No, appointment still not through and it's annoying/upsetting me

DulcetMoans · 17/01/2016 10:24

Where is my snow?! Downside of living by the sea - rarely get snow.

If you guys disappear to undergrads again you might make new friends and leave us! I bet they are all doing fun things like leaving the house and having interesting sex - they won't be talking about sleep deprivation, poo and not having sex like us. Don't forget us popz and zyla! Remind us what it's like on the other side!

I had massive cooking fails last week essie. Burnt all the things, ruined a pan. We can't do everything!

Sounds like a couple better night sleeps for you pud and jc. Are you thinking you will keep the bottle up? It does help but I can't keep up the expressing!

What do you think has happened toast? Upset tummy? Maybe something you've eaten?

We had a poo explosion today too. Slightly more texture to it from the couple little bits he's eaten. Weaning starts properly this week - must get organised!

Jcandy · 17/01/2016 10:38

I do feel good this morning dulcet I'd like to keep it up and give a bottle at least every other day. My friend is posting me her electric breast pump so that will help with the expressing.

Eww post weaning poos aren't nice. Especially when it's just a load of part chewed food that you get.....

Hobbit19 · 17/01/2016 11:46

Yes definitely a good night. P slept from 11 until 8 with just the one wake up (at 4am) which was the massive bottle feed. We are going to try to do this on Friday nights so DH can do the bottle feed and then also do an evening feed with a bottle once a week. This will mean that I only have to pump 2 days a week too which will be good. We shall have to see how it goes though, best laid plans and all that!

Yeah Popz and Zyla, you have to dtd the get upduffed. How does that work?! Grin

purplewhale · 17/01/2016 12:40

We've got more solid poos today, think the rotavirus vaccine is out of his system now.
Leap 4 is bedding in. Last week he was delightful. Today he's like my arse!

ZylaB · 17/01/2016 13:21

dulcet I'm not leaving here!!

pud I dunno, I think I'm officially a virgin again!

Toast85 · 17/01/2016 17:32

Oh bad day today! Melba was fine overnight and this morning, had a snooze on dh and we had to wake her to go out at about 10.30. She's been unsettled and crying most of the time since then, apart from an hour or so in the middle of the day. She's hardly fed since 9am- just 2 tiny feeds at around 11 and 1 and is now screaming most of the time. We gave calpol which has calmed her down but she starts screaming again as soon as I move her so she still won't feed. No temperature before we gave calpol though she feels warm. We called 111 and now waiting for a doctor to call back. Dh and I have both been in tears as this is so unlike her and it's horrible not being able to comfort and feed her. Poor little sausage!

RPopz · 17/01/2016 17:48

Poor melba Sad Hope she picks up soon! Xx

That's exactly what we did with the bottle too essie... I sometimes wish I'd perservered with it properly!

That's what I was thinking of doing as well Zyla - will save the 50 quid a box cbfm jobbies for if/ when I get desperate! Shit news about the appointment! What they playing at!

We won't leave you Dulcet! The undergrads Fred is so busy I've not a chance of keeping up properly anyway.... Are you feeling any better?

Fed up of being on a diet now.... I want all the cake/ chocolate/ biscuits!!! Angry

ZylaB · 17/01/2016 18:32

popz I've had all the cake and chocolate! Expecting a gain tomorrow lol

ZylaB · 17/01/2016 18:33

Aww hope she feels better soon toast

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 17/01/2016 19:24

I've got a load of ICs if anyone wants them? Happy to post.

toast how is melba now?

Think we might be beginning teething here as well as having a cold. He's got v flushed cheeks and has ramped up the dribbling to insane levels. One minute he's happy as larry and the next he's crying like mad. I've given calpol a couple of times which has seemed to make him more comfortable. I can see little teeth under his gums at the bottom.

popz yeah I wish I'd kept up the bottle too. Not sure he'll ever take one now. I might try a valveless sippy cup this week.

The snow didn't amount to much it was all gone by 11 am.

Sorry I was so miserable earlier viroids. Lack of sleep isn't doing me any favours! I have made a resolution to try and be more positive. We have booked a holiday too which has helped! Grin

cookielove · 17/01/2016 20:14

Hello all, I have been missing in action the last couple of days due to phone drama! Had a bad run of braking phones Sad

Sorry to hear that some if you are having a rough time!

toast has the dr called back? I hate it when they are poorly! I find nurofen is best for sorting out temps and teeth for E as well as alternating the two! But you know whats best for her!

We got snow today, E was a bit unsure. He was sick in the night last night and hasn't been right today! I am hoping this passes quickly!

Hobbit19 · 17/01/2016 20:40

Oh no, sorry for all the poorly and teething babies. How is Melba doing Toast?

Yet for holidays and PMA Essie but remember that you don't have to be happy all the time (although that would be nice!) Mumming is hard work!

Had a few more tears here today. I thought the birth hormones were out of my system but apparently not. Got really upset with DH as he has spent a lot of time on his paternity leave building us a climbing wall in the shed. Which is BRILLIANT as we can both keep training but I wished he had spent more time with P. He has also done everything domestic goddess wise for 3 weeks so he has been great but I feel like we are just having such different and unequal experiences of parenting which I find really frustrating. I am never off duty and won't be for some time and I find that quite overwhelming and he can just pop to the shops/go for a run whenever he likes. DH goes back to work tomorrow which is a bit terrifying. Totally over dramatic but I am worried about PND as I don't normally feel like this. Please hooya me.

Toast85 · 17/01/2016 20:49

We ended up with an out of hours gp appointment, of course by that stage the calpol had fully kicked in, she'd managed a decent feed and a little snooze and had toned down the screaming to a mere whimper, and she even managed to smile at the doctor! He said probably a virus but couldn't find anything wrong. Hopefully calpol will keep on top of it. We've also got nurofen if needed too. So fingers crossed she'll sleep well and feel better by tomorrow!

Essie, hope little lama is ok! And E too cookie!

Toast85 · 17/01/2016 21:58

Pud You don't need a hooya, but it's normal to be all up and down. Of course you don't normally feel like this- you don't normally do a baby until now! It gets better. But obviously talk to your doctor/mw/hv if you're worried! It helped me to just make sure I felt all the emotions as they came rather than ignoring/burying them down. Once I was properly acknowledging and accepting them they started to even out a bit.

Hobbit19 · 17/01/2016 23:38

Thanks Toast, will definitely seek help if I get more concerned about it. Not had any MG issues before but unfortunately seen enough colleagues have real issues to know that I do need to look after myself if I start to struggle. Gx it is just birth hormones doing their thing!

P has fed non stop since 6pm and has done lots of (6?) poos since then. (She normally does a lot but not one an hour). The last one had a streak of blood in do called 111 and they said to take her to the GP in the morning. Poor baby. :-(

LaLaLaaaa · 18/01/2016 06:01

Argh teething!

Argh sleep!

Will catch up later x

Pisghetti · 18/01/2016 06:54

Hope the ill babies are better soon. GP surgeries do seem to have magical curing powers that sort out poorly babies while you're in the waiting room. Obviously you're glad they're feeling better but you can't help but worry the doctor thinks you're neurotic.

I've been up most of the night and I'm now getting ready for work. DP has had a very grumpy and moany text Sad

RPopz · 18/01/2016 18:20

No hooyas for you pud. It takes a while to feel like yourself again. Even without the hormones, lack of sleep and a completely helpless tiny human are big things to adjust to. Plus the altered relationship with DH - that's something I definitely struggled with. How's your first day flying solo gone?

Hope E is feeling better cookie!

These babies always have to make us look like liars.... Grin Hope she's feeling better soon toast

Holiday sounds exciting essie! Where you off to? Am hoping we'll be able to go this year....

Minipopz has been a whiney tantrumy nuisance today. Have eaten his Easter chocolate as punishment. (In all fairness, it expires next week and he's not going to eat it all!) Wonder how many calories there are in a small chocolate cow..... Hmm

Hobbit19 · 18/01/2016 19:18

There are no calories if the chocolate belongs to someone else. They get all the calories. True story. Sorry to hear that Mini Popz is being hard work today.

All good here but v tired as P has decided that sleep is for wimps. Bad night and zero naps today. Urgh. I haven't cried yet- today though - winner!!!

purplewhale · 18/01/2016 19:40

La hope you got some sleep

Hope the poorly babies are better, and everyone got some sleep last night.

B is going through an unsettled phase, I'm guessing it's leap 4. He wouldn't nap anywhere but on me and not for long enough either. He's grumbled a lot too. As soon as DH took over he was delightful! Little bugger was chuckling and chatting away.
He's done fuck all for him today, I took him to baby massage where I pandered to him for 90 mins, then to baby group where I played with him for an hour, then when we got home he grumbled for the rest of the afternoon and nap-dodged!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 18/01/2016 20:49

purple my ds does that too. Feels like when dh walks through the door from work ds is saying to him 'thank god you're here I've been stuck with her all day'.

I'm really proud of myself today though. DS and I took the park and ride into town today. Did some shopping, had lunch in pret, used the baby change and feeding rooms in Debenhams, ALL ON OUR OWN! He was great. Beamed at everyone on the bus. I even managed to get his passport photo done for hols. We've booked a villa with my parents in lanzarote. First time I've been abroad in quite a while so I'm v excited.

pud did you take P to Dr?

Sorry about all the grizzly leaping poorly babes today. Sincerely hoping they let everyone get a bit of sleep.

Is anyone watching war and peace?

Hobbit19 · 18/01/2016 21:25

Yep took her this morning Essie. GP said absolutely nothing to worry about which is great. We managed our first solo outing/car journey/nappy change in baby changing (high 5s *Essie) in the process though so that was good! P has been awake all day but just slept on DH (There us a theme here!) So I've been to sleep!!!!!! For an hour! Grin

purplewhale · 18/01/2016 21:30

Yep I could have sworn that's what he'd be saying..thank fuck you're home daddy!

Hurray for outings with babies. DH has never taken B out on his own. I've left them at home for a few hours and they've been fine. He's just not had reason to take him out
