Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 10th Just Mumming thread...following the trials and tribulations of our babies, following the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 43rd grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

The previous Just Mumming thread is HERE

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

P.s. v v sad news: I have finished the Christmas cake. I made quite a massive large cake and have had a slice every day for the last three weeks, now is it all gone - sob! Quite proud of the fact that I have eaten a whole Christmas cake to myself though because I don't share DH doesn't like it.

Happy Birthday Pis Smile
Happy AF Zyla Wink

I'm on the wine, had a bit of stress. I panicked a bit at water babies and B obviously picked up on it. He had an awful session and cried loads. He never normally cries at all. I just renewed it too. Next week I need to keep it lighthearted and smiley....easier said than done with GAD

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 15/01/2016 19:21

Happy birthday pis!

Re hiccups. DS has them loads before he was born and loads after too until he was about 16 weeks then it just stopped. Never seemed to bother him. He also had dreadful colic. Hours of wailing every evening from 3-14 weeks. Thought it would never end but it did! It was exhausting. I used to have to wear him in the sling and pace around the house.

My bfing is fuelled by cake too. Grin

DulcetMoans · 15/01/2016 23:40

Rage face! Lost post in stupid fat finger incident! Raaaaaaawwwwwwr!

Summary:

Happy birthday pis! Although near death experience not what you wanted. Doing anything this weekend to celebrate?

Waiting in car for sleeping baby is what least to McDonald's drive thru toast!

Great news zyla, which is a weird thing for us to say! Capes on!

Hiccups not a bother to J unless it's nap time. He will happily feed with them but can't sleep with them. Never heard anything about it linking to birth - why would it?!

My BFing is fuelled by biscuits.

Oh and still on two hourly feeds here pud. Hopefully this won't be you!

Toast85 · 16/01/2016 00:16

Dulcet I never thought of drive thru! That would have been just what I needed today too, I had a horrible headache all day and I think a nice quarter pounder with cheese meal would have sorted that right out. And it's pretty much on my way home from Sensory too.. Next Friday lunch sorted then!
Zyla...! Give the undergrads a wave from us!
Pud we pretty much have two hourly feeds too, during the day. I'd say mornings maybe one or two stretches of three hours, but that is evened out by hourly feeds in the evening around the 5/6/7pm period and then the looong bedtime feed that takes forever. Nights are muchos improved though now, but we were on two hourly throughout the night as well for 2-3 months. I'd say the main difference now is that if she's awake and interested in something she'll 'forget' she's hungry for a while and not shout about it so quickly like she used to.
Purple sorry you didn't have a good time a swimming. Hope you feel better now.

Hobbit19 · 16/01/2016 01:22

Oh god Dulcet and Toast, that is not good especially as P's feeds take an hour to an hour and a half to complete!

Had to text idiot neighbour again tonight re: loud music. Apparently he is struggling to cope with the death of David Bowie and therefore needs to get drunk and play loud music at 1am. Get an actual grip.

DulcetMoans · 16/01/2016 05:03

Once it's in your mind toast it's hard to avoid - you have get lunch and keep moving!

Hopefully you'll get into a better routine quicker pud but, if it helps, the feeding will get quicker at least! Feeds here are about 20mins here on a good night so at least bed isn't that far away --for my

DulcetMoans · 16/01/2016 05:06

Posted too soon! I'm not doing well - in fact I'm falling apart.

Was saying for my 90mins of sleep

And he can mourn David Bowie quietly! Why make it your problem?! Arsehole neighbours!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 16/01/2016 05:21

Oh ffs that's ridiculous, my mum cried when she heard about David Bowie (bless her). There are other ways of mourning. Idiot. Hope he turned it down.

Crap night here. Been up since 3. He keeps grabbing at his ears. Wondering if what seemed like a fairly mild cold is now ear infection. Gave calpol and he passed out in my arms for a bit then woke up crying. He's just fallen asleep on me again. DH went out and didn't come home til 1am so he'll be a fat lot of use in the morning.

We're still on 2 hourly feeds most of the time too at 4.5 months, sometimes going 3 hours in the day and 4 at night, but he's super efficient now and takes about 10 mins. Used to take an hour or so when he was wee. I basically felt like I was feeding all the time in the beginning. He was nearly 10lb and everyone kept telling me he was feeding so much cos I didn't have enough milk cos he was so big and needed gallons. Luckily I ignored them all and it calmed down naturally like my bfing book said it would.

dulcet sorry you are up at this time and falling to bits too. Let's fall to bits together. The first bit of me which seems to have dropped off is my sense of humour. Sad

DulcetMoans · 16/01/2016 07:07

Think mine was my patience essie. What a fun pair we are! hope you can use DH late night to buy you some rest today!

Hobbit19 · 16/01/2016 07:56

Oh well good news that feeds may get shorter/more efficient! Have also prepped DH that we are going to introduce a bottle of ebm from next week, hopefully building up to me pumping enough that he can do one night a week (3 feeds although 2 would even be brill) and I can sleep through in the spare room. Is this an unrealistic expectation? (Of baby not DH, he will do what he is told!) She took a bottle like a trooper at 2 weeks but I think it was too early to start introducing bottles.

Yes my sense of humour is fairly sporadic at the moment too and I am unnecessarily irritable with DH. Bad wife.

RPopz · 16/01/2016 10:10

Hooray Zyla! Are you heading back to the undergrads??? Grin

Happy belated birthday Pis! Cake

La - I put tights or leggings under trousers for an extra sling layer when it's really cold. Can't remember if I've linked to the ones I've got on the fb group? From eBay, they're like footless tights with jazzy patterns on.

Aw Dulcet, don't fall apart on us! What's happening? Xx

Patience/ sense of humour failure here last night too after minipopz decided he could only sleep in 10 minute intervals.... Angry Might have shouted at him Blush

You're not a bad wife pud - we all do it. WTAF at your neighbour!? Were they pals?? Loon.

ZylaB · 16/01/2016 10:45

I am heading back to the grads, DH has just asked if that means he's back on duty Hahahahaaaaa!

ZylaB · 16/01/2016 10:46

Sorry if I obsess I re this by the way, it's just me focussing in positive stuff :)

Hobbit19 · 16/01/2016 16:35

Obsess away, it's very exciting!

Hobbit19 · 16/01/2016 17:14

Okay, P is asleep but has just done a massively loud poo. How long can I leave her asleep before I change her nappy??

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 16/01/2016 18:48

How long is she likely to sleep? If not long I'd be inclined to leave her but if it's likely to be hours I'd try and change her stealthily while she sleeps with boob ready if she wakes!

Hobbit19 · 16/01/2016 20:15

She woke up 10 minutes after I posted!

DH is settling P through her fussy phase tonight - wow, what a difference, she is so calm! Never letting him leave the house ever again

Toast85 · 16/01/2016 21:21

Hmmm, think Melba is a bit poorly. She's been doing 4 or 5 yellow-green poos for the last 3 days (usually has one poo a day or one every other day) and had a massive vomit this evening. Proper sick (all down my front, nice) not just possetting. No temperature so hope it's nothing too bad! She wasn't herself today.

Pud hope you don't have to listen to drunk neighbour's music again tonight!

RPopz · 16/01/2016 22:12

I'd probably have left her as a one off pud ... But I am a slattern!

Hmmm, maybe I will go back to the undergrads too then. It's busy in there though... I'm a bit scared!

Obsess away zy - it's good to have something positive to focus on. Will you crack out the contraband this time? Have you had your appointment through yet? Xx

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 17/01/2016 02:05

Definitely obsess feely zyla it's exciting.

We are up for our routine midnight poo session. Just changed ds twice. Middle of the night explosive pooing is becoming a habit sadly while he has this cold. He's just sat on the bed bashing/eating my pyjama leg to burn off a bit of energy before I attempt to get him back to sleep because he was too wide awake at the first attempt. Zzzzzz.

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 17/01/2016 02:07

*freely.

I am so knackered when I woke up I thought the bedside clock was malfunctioning. It took me a few seconds to remember that 1:49 is actually a time.

Hobbit19 · 17/01/2016 04:35

Shock Essie, I hope you get some more sleep!

DH gave P a bottle of ebm tonight. She had 4.5oz and ia now continuing on the boob! She is 3 weeks old! Bottomless pit of a child. There is going to be epic vom isn't there?! DH did paced bottle feeding and it took an hour so I think she is genuinely hungry. She slept from 11 till 3 though and then I snoozed on and off until 4 while DH fed her so that was good. I'm hoping she will do another good stretch now after all of the milk!!

Jcandy · 17/01/2016 04:58

We gave ebm tonight too Smile I went to bed at 9 and dp gave 3oz (all I had) at midnight. He brought her up to bed about half 1 and she woke again about 2 for a feed so I had probably 4 and a half hours sleep Grin

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 17/01/2016 07:07

Well done on the expressing and bottle feeding. Wish I'd kept that up at ds took a bottle really well til he was about 6 weeks then I didn't try again til about 12 weeks and he's refused a bottle since then. Now he's 20 weeks and still won't take one!

He did go back to sleep about 2:30 then woke up at 5:30 for another poo. I think he's swallowing a lot of snot which is causing the extreme pooing.

Another sleep deprived fail yesterday.... I made rice pudding and forgot to put any sugar in it. DH saved it by putting some jam with it and it was actually edible!

Anyone got snow? It's snowing lightly here in Oxfordshire.
