Merry Christmas all! DS celebrated by staying awake until nearly two and then waking up at six soaked in wee then vomiting all over the dry grobag when I changed him. But fuck it, I'm not going to be grumpy on Christmas! Bucks fizz for everyone in the bar! We can switch to mulled wine or eggnog in a bit.

Giraffescandance1 · 25/12/2015 08:01

Oh Sian poor you! And Frolic and Tindel and all those feeling poorly or with poorly babies!

Merry Christmas all! I'm here to offer hope on the sleep front as baby is one of the oldest. She is teething so quite grumpy in the day and wakes a lot at night, but she's starting to learn to sleep without bf, she's done it herself as I've always offered it as it's the easiest way to get her to sleep normally. At the start of the nights she always wants to be fed, but if I try to keep her downstairs beyond 7pm she fusses and cries until I take her to bed and then she's asleep in minutes, quick bf and then sleep. She wakes and fusses a bit in the night, but most of the time she just wants to be left to go back to sleep, she sees me laying next to her and I pretend to sleep so off she goes. She got grumpy with me for picking her up and trying to feed her in the night! Anyway, I'm hoping this is the start of better sleep and that this will give those with younger babies hope!

Can't wait to tuck into a big roast today, I've got nut roast which I love, sounds like I can share it with some of your dhs Smile

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 25/12/2015 12:59

Congratulations fatty, amazing news Grin!! Well done Mr Fatty!!

And for the rest of you some comedy reading mummyswritingdarling.co.uk/ten-reasons-why-babys-first-christmas-is-a-bit-crap-actually/

It's wonderful mayhem here in the dwarf house. Grumpy 1 is so excited she is posing a major health hazard to grumpy 2. Grumpy 2 is totally mind blown by a giant toy worm she has been given. Loving every minute of it and feeling very blessed to have my two fantastic daughters.

Christmas love and good wishes to you all xxx

mzzzf · 25/12/2015 13:49

Merry blooming Christmas folks!!

And MASSIVE congratulations Fatty - such wonderful news 😁😁 Ohhhh a mugabeans wedding, can we be bridesmaids in peach taffeta?!

Looking after a baby whilst slightly merry is a bit different!! Hic 🍷🍷

everythingispeachy · 25/12/2015 14:33

Ahhh lovely news fatty. It's such a romantic time of year.

I'm taking a break from the kitchen to feed ds2. Ds1 is being entertained by dm and Mil and dh it bringing me prosecco and pigs in blankets.

Merry Christmas

Tindel · 25/12/2015 15:00

Congrats Fatty! Lovely news.

We're with the ILs. J's cousins are super excited, which is lovely. Have been exiled to a bedroom to bf, which is quite a nice break from the madness downstairs. Just trying to persuade J to sleep now

randomsabreuse · 25/12/2015 19:37

Merry Christmas everyone!

Congrats Fatty!

Quiet Christmas here after crazy Christmas Eve involving a crib service where F had a starring (but non speaking) role as a boy about 4 and a half months younger than she is (I was definitely not Mary!). She enjoyed it as she could gawp at the Angel's halos while being admired.

We then killed several hours in a Weatherspoons before braving midnight mass at the same Cathedral and apart from a sneaky BF through the sermon she was very good. Last one of those for a while!

Just cooking a late Christmas dinner but feeding in a hiatus. I like cooking so DH is on child duty between feeds!

sianihedgehog · 25/12/2015 20:04

Congratulations fatty!

We've had a BRILLIANT Christmas just the three of us. DP has been a complete star and spent all day looking after DS so I could get dinner cooked and our bags packed to visit his parents and the last presents wrapped. He even noticed that DS was getting overtired and volunteered to take him out in the pushchair so he'd sleep! I even got to have a bath and get dressed. I got so much done and have had a lovely relaxed day, too. :) DS even played on his playmat while I ate dinner AT THE TABLE.

A perfect day! :)

FattySantaRobin · 25/12/2015 20:37

Well my day just got better. DS2 has mastered sitting and discovered that pushing his feet against the floor while on his back makes him move. He could already spin in a circle so now he's mobile! It won't be long before he figures out what to do on his tummy.

Joskar · 25/12/2015 22:58

Congratulations fatty! Fantastic news! What a lovely ring.

Managed a) not to throw up and b) not to fight with my mother and c) not to get massively annoyed by smil. WIN! Fantastic day. Really enjoyed it. Even managed dtd! Whoop! Merry Christmas to Dh!

Been reading the thread and thanks for the kind thoughts. All a bit manic here. Merry Christmas to all you lovely, kind, funny, amazing supermums. Xxx

P.S.

Oddest presents: build your own wooden bird from mil; egg separator from Dh's SA cousins; six jars of Geeta's mango chutney from Dh.

What were yours?

FattySantaRobin · 25/12/2015 23:07

I don't really get given odd presents, just bad ones Grin my step grandma gave me some perfume that smells awful. Honestly I sicked a bit in my mouth when I smelled it. And a friend gave me slipper socks. I get them every year even though she knows I don't wear them because I just end up slipping everywhere despite the sticky bits at the bottom but to be fair, she also got me a big bottle of perfume that I like Grin

Dozygirl · 26/12/2015 00:30

Awwww congratulations fatty! Amazing news. Love the ring I'm onlying slightly jealous heehee.

Hope you've all had lovely Christmas's. Was just reading the post natal thread where we were all feeling sick and nautious on xmaa day. Hopefully we all felt better this year and not too tired.

Piper was brilliant. She loved helping us open her presents. She really gave it a good go at pulling the paper but only because she wanted to put it in her mouth.

Worst present. An 'I love Christmas' tshirt in size 3-6 months. When is she supposed to where that? ? I can't put it in her after Christmas! She'll look ridiculous. And obv I already has her Xmas day outfit planned. Again I don't like to sound ungrateful but do people really not think it through properly when they buy gifts? ! I could think of plenty of nice things to give to someone that would always be useful but dome people have no idea.

Fanby · 26/12/2015 03:10

CONGRATULATIONS FATTY!!! Absolutely thrilled for you!!

Dozy - same issue here!! My sister who has 2 kids got her Christmas pudding booties, an elf outfit (from mns waaaay too big and last years I think, might still see if I can return it?!!), snowman leggings, a reindeer bib and 2 baby's first christmas tree decorations all in three to six?! Not only this I got them at the end of Christmas Day as we spent the majority with the in laws which she pre knew. Yes I sound mega ungrateful but what the hell am I supposed to do with it all, she can't be rocking that gear in January??! So random. The stuff I got her kids is thoughtful and age/season appropriate!

Frolicacid · 26/12/2015 04:16

Hello mugabes!
We had a fab day, despite being mid war on snot once again.
Ds loved ripping the wrapping off his presents. We went to my sisters and he gave it a good go at being jolly.

I don't think we got any bad presents this year. We still have a few more to open, so we'll see.

This is our first wake up since 11pm, so not too bad on the sleep front. Going to bed has become a war zone the past few nights.

I hope you're all ticked up in bed, getting lots of sleep and that the Christmas hangovers aren't too ouchy in the morning.

FattySantaRobin · 26/12/2015 08:39

Well it was a rough night in the fatty house. No not that Wink
DS2 was up all night, ges been busy learning so it was bound to happen. And DD was over excited and overtired so she was up too!

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 26/12/2015 09:17

In answer to the pressie question I am currently queuing up in half the shops in town this morning exchanging ridiculous baby clothes for gift vouchers. Happy Boxing Day!!
