It's not a very exciting cake! And possibly not even edible.... Grin Will try and get pics later.

Everyone is dropping out of Isaac's party at the last fucking minute. This is why I hate organising stuff!! If you don't want to come then just fucking say!

RPopz · 03/01/2016 12:04

Have heard excellent stuff about the sleepyhead btw.... Pretty tempted to get one for the next minipopz!

DulcetMoans · 03/01/2016 13:11

I'll come to the party popz! I won't even eat your cake. I'm sure he will be happy that you and family are there for smiles and hugs.

See that does sound more interesting than New Years pixie! Surely you would just stop people coming in your house until they looked lucky enough! I've been ID'd for scratch cards this year too - there's no winning!

Pleased you both got some sleep pud and jc. If does make the difference - even at this stage! I've been having a nap in the mornings while DH been off for Christmas and it does help. That all ends from tomorrow though. Sad

Better get myself some lube then...

LaLaLaaaa · 03/01/2016 17:05

Can I come to party? Is there red lemonade? I love party rings!

Lube it up dulcet! We cracked out the lube and it was all gloopy coz not used in ages. Nice...

LaLaLaaaa · 03/01/2016 17:06

I have sleepyhead it's fab. B still sleeps in it

LaLaLaaaa · 03/01/2016 18:00

We need a new thread!

Jcandy · 03/01/2016 18:13

Just a little embarrassing query........

I think I might be passing wind through my vagina. I get the feeling of needing to fart but then I feel it come out of my fanjo. Is this even possible? I've had a few post birth poo's now which have been ok, though have become more painful in an achy way over the last couple of days. Any ideas?

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 03/01/2016 21:06

Candy after I'd had ds the sensation down there was all over the shop. I sort of know the feeling you are describing. Think your foof is so battered it feels everything and everything is a bit errmm... soggy?!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 03/01/2016 21:09

Oh and meant to add, ds sleeps in a sleepy head it's been a godsend. He's crap at being put down and is yet to sleep a whole night in it as he always ends up in with me at some point but without the sleepyhead he'd be in with me all bloody night. I'm knackered this evening cos I went wild and had a couple of gins at our family get together last night and then ds had me up every hour through the night. Serves me right for getting carried away.

Hobbit19 · 04/01/2016 04:09

I know what you mean JC, it happens when I stand up and I get really worried that someone else will hear it! Not sure what is actually happening to make it feel like that though!

Couple of questions for you knowledgeable ones...

Nighttime nappies:
Up until now I have been checking and changing baby pud's nappies with each feed throughout the night. Last night we got through 7 nappies (a mixture of wet and dirty) and 2 full costume changes due to baby doing extra wees when the nappies were off! This also involves a screaming baby each time as she does not like being cold.
Tonight I changed her nappy during cluster feeds at about 11. She has been asleep since 12.30 (woo!) And I am am just giving her a dream feed as my breasts were too engorged to wait for her to wake. (Cheers mother nature). So do I unswaddle her to check/change her nappy? This will involve an awake and screaming baby. But I don't want her to lie in a wet nappy all night. What to do?!?!

Also, when does the post - birth crying stop?! Me, not the baby. I am like a leaky tap! I cried at a cardigan that MIL had made earlier. it's the most beautiful cardigan I've ever seen - weeps!

Hobbit19 · 04/01/2016 04:16

Problem solved, she just did a massive poo! Answers on a postcard for future reference would still be appreciated though!

Jcandy · 04/01/2016 04:33

I'm really not sure what it is but it almost feels like there must be a hole between the two. Think I might just speak to the midwives tomorrow.

So I've had around 10 mins sleep so far. She won't go down tonight and spent 2 hours earlier crying if I wasn't moving her about.

pud disposable nappies are very good at soaking up wee now so as long as you are sure she hasn't pooed I'd just leave her. If she was uncomfortable she'd let you know

Hobbit19 · 04/01/2016 05:13

Sorry about your lack of sleep JC, growth spurt? Also sorry to hear about your extra hole!! Grin I'm sure that's not the case!

Can your DH do some settling so you can get some rest?

DulcetMoans · 04/01/2016 06:59

I only change poo nappies over night pud. If they are just wet then I wait until morning. Sometimes we get leaks but only about once a fortnight now at an estimate, usually it's fine to wait. The crying... That takes time and depends on how you feel you're coping. I think it probably took at least three weeks where I cried every day, then another couple weeks where I cried every other day or so. By three months it was only special occasions. But I did really struggle at the beginning so not sure that's representative!

ZylaB · 04/01/2016 07:25

I just leave nappies until the morning unless it's a poo, as they get older they usually don't poo during the night. Though at that age H used to scream after every little dribble of wee until we changed her so w used to get through 20 nappies a day!

Hobbit19 · 04/01/2016 08:10

Great nappy advice ladies!

To be fair my leaky eyes are mostly happy tears except when we had to go to hospital and I sobbed for hours seeing my bro hold baby pud (he cried too), Downton Abbey, Baby pud falling asleep on my boob, baby clothes, baby shoes.... I'm from Yorkshire for goodness sake, I can't deal with this level of emotion!

RPopz · 04/01/2016 11:08

I only change poo nappies over night too!

Don't think I stopped crying for weeks pud! 😱

Did you tear in labour jc? I'd think that'd be the only way you'd have a hole between the two.... Hope you can get some reassurance from the mw xx

Party was a success! Now we have ALL THE TOYS Shock Need to move house immediately!

PixieChops · 04/01/2016 11:23

I cried at Hero 6 yesterday. Seriously a child's film. I could cry at a drop of a hat. Though I try my hardest not to. Youngest is 6 months. Think when you're a mum all hormones go to shit and you end up being a caring empathic person rather than a cold hearted bitch (used to pride myself on the latter)
Shitty bums- change as and when
Wee bums- if leave well alone unless baby cries and is uncomfortable.

R used to cry when he'd done a poo so I'd know. Now he's quite happy to roll around in it (I don't let him) if forgotten how hard it is to change the bum of a child who'd rather be on their front than their back. It's like dealing with a bloody octopus. There's limbs flying everywhere!

R is feeling much better now actually and slept for nearly 12 hours last night with a 1.5 hour wake up, hoping for a proper sleep through tonight! Only heard him cough 4 times this morning and he's having a super nap now. Went down at 9:45 and still asleep. He must be knackered from 18 nights of one hour sleeping stints... poor chap Hmm

Popz glad little Popz got lots of lovely toys. Now be prepared to stand on all of them as your room becomes a giant advertisement for Toys R Us. At Ps first birthday party she got about 30 new toys. Some were fucking huge. We couldn't move. I literally had to shout at ST to come find me because I was getting stuck under plastic tat!

J sorry to hear about your singing foof. Definitely get it looked at. I had episiotomy and a 3rd degree tear. I felt like I was permanently sat on a very painful space hopper. Never had the experience you are though. Start doing pelvic floor exercises if you hadn't already. I ran once and I pissed myself.

We changed every feed when he was tiny as he pooed every time. Now I change dirty nappies and wet ones if it's been a while as he gets uncomfortable.

Hope you get your foof sorted JC

We use metanium for nappy rash Zyla it's the dogs nuts

B has a rotten cold, I've never seen him so poorly. It's awful. He's so sorry for himself. I've put Vicks on a tissue on his crib buts not done much. Also been using saline nasal drops which help short term. He was waking up coughing every 5-10 mins so no on was getting any sleep. I brought him downstairs and slept in the recliner with him. He woke me by wriggling and coughing all night. He's slept but I haven't. He's slept most of the morning so I put ear plugs in and went back to bed. I really hope he gets over this soon, poor little sausage, and poor me too

purplewhale · 04/01/2016 12:32

I cry at everything, still do. Our village is lovely at Christmas, the locals make such and effort and the lights are fab. I cried when I saw them as it's such a lovely place to live. I could cry thinking it

RPopz · 04/01/2016 17:25

Tell me about it pixie.... I actually cannot believe how much stuff we've amassed already and he's only been here for ONE year!! God help us when there's two..... Glad R is seeming better. I am insane with jealousy over your 12 hours sleep!!

AIBU to be annoyed that DM wants to return her Christmas present because it was "too expensive" .... 1 - it wasn't. And 2 - surely I am the judge of that! Hmm
