I'm desperate for a night out. I missed my work Christmas do this weekend as it would have meant 3 nights away. No way I could have done that and dh wasn't suggesting I go! We're going to friends for a meal in a couple of weeks but we've no babysitter so one of us has to drive. We did go to pizza express for tea last night, that's about as out as I get these days!

Hope E is better now Cookie, and dh buys you something spectacular Fleur

I've asked for a Fitbit and I'm thinking of joining a beginners running club that starts this week I'm currently eating a bag of giant buttons

purplewhale · 29/11/2015 16:27

Glad you had a good night out too La Smile

ZylaB · 29/11/2015 17:24

I need to get back into exercise, I was running 2 or 3 times a week, for 30mins and doing fight Klub once a week, but stopped when H wasn't happy in crèche and we went away :(. It feels a bit like self sabotage, I must start up again! it'll help with the weight loss too, that's starting to feel like a long slog too meh :(

Pisghetti · 29/11/2015 18:15

I want to get back into running as well. We do Buggyfit and sling swing but that'll stop when I go back to work. I used to run during my lunch break.

La it'll be fine. The amount of alcohol in your milk after two large glasses of wine is equivalent to the amount found in apple juice.

I had a night off again last night. Plus I had a cheeky nap with her earlier. She did the same as last week - woke up but didn't really drink much milk at 4am and then took a whole bottle at 6am. Starting to wonder if she really does need feeding at night or whether it's time to try and get her out of the habit. Zyla did you have much success with pick up put down?

RPopz · 29/11/2015 19:05

Really Pis? Minipopz still feeds ALL NIGHT LONG... Oh buggery. I'm doing it all wrong aren't I... Confused What's pick up put down?

Minipopz is much better today thanks La. Not sure what's been wrong. He's had a raging temp for two days, some funky nappies and sore throat/ mouth? He slept til 11.30 this morning!! Shock Must have needed it, poor little bean.

Mr P has been staring at his phone all fucking day. Angry

Pisghetti · 29/11/2015 19:14

She feeds all night long with me but if it isn't boob then she doesn't seem too bothered! Pick up put down is a gentle sleep training method.

Glad he's feeling better Popz hope E is ok too Cookie and you're all done with bad luck now!!

ZylaB · 29/11/2015 19:26

pis pick up put down seemed to work quite well, took 3 or 4 nights, then she started doing through. Though I'm not sure if it was that or just timing with her age etc. though since then she's had growth spurt and stomach bug and snotty cold which have meant I've been feeding her and having her in with me, so I've probably undone all the good work!

DulcetMoans · 29/11/2015 22:28

I had exactly the same panic Friday night la but extensive googling and rationalsing in my head told me it was ok to feed still. Like the others have said, it's minimal any and you would need to drink a lot to have an effect. I had 4 drinks between 8 -10.30 (cocktails so lots of ice anyway!) and fed him at 4am. So pleased I didn't have to pump and dump as I would have to cry over that loss of milk!

Also keen to get back to running, maybe we can have a JSers run club for motivation! I got a fitbit purple, loved it for the few days I used it. Then I accidentally washed it in my gym trousers... haven't risked charging it since and not told DH as he will not be pleased.

If you're doing it wrong popz, so am I! I am feeding at least every 3 hours over night. Beginning to wonder if I shouldn't be. Is minipopz on food yet and did that change his wakes ups? Could you 'lose' MrPopz phone for a bit?

What has everyone asked for for Christmas? Other than PJs I can feed in, i'm at a loss!

Pisghetti · 29/11/2015 22:29

It took an hour and a bloody half to get her to sleep tonight! I text DS complaining about how hungry I was (I was going to sort out dinner after putting her to bed) and he brought me a couple of babybels to tide me over and got dinner started. I luffs him so much!

Pisghetti · 29/11/2015 22:35

I've asked for a dishwasher Dulcet! My kitchen is only small and dishes seem to take over.

DulcetMoans · 29/11/2015 22:48

Oh god, I would love that too pis. If I ever get a divorce I am sure it will be about washing up. I'm stuck though as DH will not allow a dish washer but neither will he wash up every day or let me wash up. I remember once when there was no washing up on the side waiting. I took a photo. I look at it sometimes and remember it fondly.

ZylaB · 30/11/2015 07:44

Js run club would be ace, I need motivation!! (And someone to hold H while I do it!)
purple with regards to starting running, I really recommend nhs couch to 5k, you get told when to run, when to walk etc and it builds it up in an achievable way! I'm slow still but can nor run for half an hour - well I could before I stopped exercising!

Fleurchamp · 30/11/2015 08:10

Morning all!

I have no idea what is going on with S. It took 4 hours to get him to bed last night. 4 bloody hours!!!! Angry

He wasn't even that bad as a newborn.

He has been getting progressively worse over the past couple of weeks and I am at a loss. So tired and he must be missing out on so much sleep as he is still not very good at napping during the day.

He is so angry about being given a bottle at 7pm I wonder whether it is his revenge?!?

A very low point today Sad

Toast85 · 30/11/2015 09:30

Hello! Fell off the Fred.
Ugh running, I've tried several times, as its free exercise and all, but I just hate it. I did try nhs couch to 5k and thought that was quite good, but couldn't sustain it. Good luck to you, but count me out of the JS running club. I might start a JS walking to the cake shop and eating cake club though if anyone is interested? Hmm no in all seriousness I should try to sort myself out now. I'm 10kg heavier than I was pre-preg and have been for a good 6 weeks now so I think I can assume that bit is not the baby related bit but is more to do with the huge number of magnum ice creams consumed whilst pregnant.

Babybels pis? He's a keeper. I love them tiny cheeses.

Poor Melba has a cold, she's all snotty and snorty. She's being a little trooper though, I'm very proud!

purplewhale · 30/11/2015 10:04

4 hours Fleur! I sympathise, we've had evenings like that. He's still not great, if he goes down early it's not for long

I'm definitely built for comfort not speed. But if I have another pregnancy I'd like a less complicated one. Exercise and losing weight gives me a small chance of ditching the insulin and that would mean a much simpler process.

RPopz · 30/11/2015 10:30

Are you in cuntleap fleur? Sleep regression is an absolute bitch. It's so unbelievably frustrating and I well remember the "this is worse than newborn sleep!!!" feeling. But it's honestly nothing you're doing wrong. Parenting mantra- THIS TOO SHALL PASS!

Glad MrP has upped his game a bit Pis!!

It is perfectly normal for them to want to feed all night still Dulcet - I have to keep reminding myself of this when I have a mini crisis like today though!! I coslept with miniPopz Friday and Saturday night because he was poorly. He was better yesterday but now won't let me put him in the bloody cot ... Kept feeding him to sleep in bed and then trying to transfer him to the cot but he'd scream as though laid on hot coals the second his head hit the mattress.... Angry Grargh. I don't want to stop breastfeeding but I feel like I'm done with all these nightfeeds now!! Would really like more than an hours sleep in a row. Going to get MrP to lower the cot and try and put him in his own room tonight....

I'm getting a slow cooker for Christmas Grin

ZylaB · 30/11/2015 14:04

purple if you want to do the weight loss for definate, I recommend slimming world. I'm not going to rave about it on here, but it's worked for my SIL and my brother, and me and mrZ! My group is really baby friendly too, I take H and all the older women there fight over who gets to hold her :)

Fleurchamp · 30/11/2015 16:09

Yes, I guess it's cuntleap - 6 days to go apparently.

If it doesn't stop soon I will be in an asylum!

S is currently crying at me from the sling. Nothing like having a screaming red faced baby strapped to you.

I have walked miles today. In the rain. I bought a cheesecake from the posh bakers (so massively £) and I have already eaten half. I deserve it.

RPopz · 30/11/2015 16:19

You definitely deserve it fleur .... Just like I deserved that packet of biscuits I just ate.... Blush

How's S's reflux/ liver etc these days?

Think my baby is broken. Is it bedtime yet?

ZylaB · 30/11/2015 17:41

You do deserve it fleur!!

Viroids with weaned/weaning babies... How the hell do you get them to drink anything? H hardly has any water and is too interested in everything else to have more than a quick suck of boob when we're out, I'm worried she's getting a bit dehydrated!

RPopz · 30/11/2015 17:50

Minipopz only started properly drinking water in the last couple of months or so zy. He wasn't really interested to begin with and I was really bad at remembering to offer it! He mostly seemed to just rinse his mouth out with it..... Hmm Try giving her some juicy fruit maybe? She's used to feeding on demand so she won't dehydrate herself Smile

ZylaB · 30/11/2015 18:27

She eats pears and mangoes etc. think I'm hoping she'll drop feeds properly if she actually drinks any fucking water lol

LaLaLaaaa · 01/12/2015 17:15

Hi everyone! Greetings from sleep deprived la land. Sorry to hear other grad babies are also sleep dodging and feeding loads at night.

Fleur you sound very down, is it any better today?

B is not sleeping - think due to adjusting after splint came off as he keeps waking up by kicking his legs. I keep feeding him, putting him down asleep but 5 mins later he's awake and crying. Every hour. I'm knackered. He's also forgotten how to sleep during the day - when DM was here we were starting putting him in crib upstairs for naps but he doesn't like it and either wakes straight away or doesn't sleep for long. So he's currently asleep on me. When am I meant to be forcing him to sleep in crib during day rather than on me?

I'm bit depressed because he was sleeping a bit better then this growth spurt and splint happened and he's now like a newborn again. Grr. I'm not going out again until baby is weaned because I'm still catching up from Saturday night and I'm knackered.

Is babypis doing any better at night?

Popz how did the move to his own bed go?

We went to nct Christmas party today and b had his first present from Santa. He slept through it!! I had to carry him asleep up to Santa and take the present when his name was called Confused

LaLaLaaaa · 01/12/2015 17:16

I can't wait for weaning! I'm dreading the mess but I just have my hopes pinned that it might mean he sleeps better

LaLaLaaaa · 01/12/2015 17:18

Fleur that sounds like cuntleap! B was a nightmare. It's hopefully over now and we are meant to be in sunny period (ha!)
