The seal

LaLaLaaaa · 27/11/2015 08:48

Breaking news: the deal is broken, deed is done.

Only took 4 months...

purplewhale · 27/11/2015 10:53

Hurray for breaking the seal La

Tesco have got pampers on 2 boxes for £14 again so that's our morning. Water babies this afternoon Smile

I'm being high maintenance I know. I just have to accept life is different now. I have made a couple of friends but one goes back to work soon. I just find putting myself out there a bit scary!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/11/2015 13:58

I think it's hard but every now and then I remind myself of how much I wanted a baby and how much I love him now he's here. They are not babies for long it will whizz by. I can't believe I've been on maternity 6 months

ZylaB · 27/11/2015 16:45

I have to get out with H every day, I swear she gets bored of being at home and just seeing me, she's much more amenable when we go places! I do quite a lot with another mum I got to now through nct, who I get on really well with, but I'm starting to get worried about what I'll do when she goes back to work!

ZylaB · 27/11/2015 16:45

*know, not now obviously

purplewhale · 27/11/2015 18:34

Glad it's not just me Smile
We've just booked a few nice things to look forward to which has cheered me up. Mums having B for a night for our wedding anniversary, and we've booked a holiday for June Smile
I need things to look forward to, it keeps me going

Minion · 27/11/2015 20:55

Morning all!

I feel as bright as a button and bushy tailed today as I slept in the spare room and left DH to deal with S.

S has been a complete and utter asshat for the past couple of weeks. Just when I thought his sleep couldn't get any worse he decides that he will not sleep for more than an hour at a time until 3am.

He has also decided that he will no longer take a bottle - one week before my first night out in two months Angry

He is still in the midst of cunt leap 4 - one week to go apparently.

DH basically forced him to take a bottle last night. I feel bad but not sure what else we can do? I want to give up BF completely after Christmas but at this moment it feels like I will still be feeding him when he goes to school. Aargh.

LaLaLaaaa · 28/11/2015 09:19

Fleur arrrrrrrfh how frustrating! (But great that Mr Fleur is stepping up!)

It might just be cuntleap. B was a nightmare 2 weeks ago but is now fine again and sleep pattern went back to normal...

...until the frogging 3rd jabs and then he woke 3 times last night. I'm v tired.

Persevere with bottle - night just be an off day?

Have had good news - scan yesterday showed massive improvement in his hips. He now has 2 normal hips! We have been very strict with the brace and also keeping his hips in position when it's off so I hope our efforts helped.

We can't ditch the splint though until Dr says ok and not seeing Dr until wed. Bum! Can't wait to get rid - he screams each time it's put back on and he hates the special car seat (so do I as it's very awkward to put him in)

I'm also planning to stop bf after Christmas. Lactation consultant at nct is trying to persuade me to keep going to a year but I really am feeling like I've done long enough and I want to stop at 6 months.

Meant to be going out tonight but after last nights many wake ups I'm feeling pretty apprehensive at the idea of going out

Fleurchamp · 28/11/2015 12:26

Angry at the lactation consultant la

I really feel that there is a huge gap out there for help with things such as combination feeding and assistance to give up feeding. I actually think it would help more women to persevere to six months.

S has been gradually refusing the bottle over the course of a week. He now jams his lips shut and if you do get some milk in there he spits it out with a dramatic "Pah" Hmm

Great news about the splint la it must be a huge relief and great that you all don't have to endure it anymore. Will he need any further treatment/ check ups?

RPopz · 28/11/2015 19:04

I wrote a big reply to everyone yesterday and then the internet ate it. So I got in a strop and buggered off again. Sorry!

Hi min xx

Sympathies to all those in the midst of cunt leap CakeWineChocolate It does end, honestly!

Did you go out in the end La?

Persevere with the bottle if you can fleur!! I wish we had.... Hopefully it's just a leap thing.

Minipopz is poorly again. He's hotter than the sun, whiney and won't eat or drink. Today has been a barrel of laughs!!

cookielove · 28/11/2015 19:47

Hello all :)

Oh yay la how great that his hips are better you must be really happy Grin

fleur glad you got a night off, I bet you feel nice and refreshed now!

So we had the worst day we have had in ages, E was sick in the car, all over himself and the car seat, this is the first time we had to take the cover off. It says handwash only but it is in the machine going on for a wool wash tomorrow!! Then when I was cleaning the car out I dropped my phone and its smashed, so bugger no phone till I get it fixed. Then when I was at my Mum and dads picking up the spare car seat, and I noticed my car had been vandalised and the headlight has been smashed! So that's just great (NOT) Angry

RPopz · 28/11/2015 21:10

Oh no cookie! They say these things come in 3s.... Hopefully that's you done for a while. Is E ok now? Does he have a bug do you think?

Mini went to bed at 8 but apparently is only sleeping in 20 minute stretches... FML.

purplewhale · 28/11/2015 22:31

Agh the 20 minute stretches Popz we had that the other week. I was on my knees by the next morning.

I've spent the last 2 hours trying to get B down, handed him to dh who is huffing and puffing cos B is being difficult. No shit Sherlock! He won't walk and rock him which is the fail safe. I passed him over as my arm is aching. Now he's complaining that he won't go down when he's sat still with him. Just do what works ffs!

purplewhale · 28/11/2015 22:32

Oh Cookie what a shit day! Hope E is better soon

LaLaLaaaa · 29/11/2015 09:36

Oh god cookie that sounds horrendous!! Wineis phone fixable?

Popz sorry miniP didn't let you sleep :(

I did go out and it was really fun but now I feel v guilty! B wouldn't take the expressed milk when I got home so I had to bf him. If not had much - 2 glasses of fizz and a cocktail. The cocktail was at 9 and my last drink of fizz was at 10. I fed him at 12:30/1. Can you reassure me that I've not killed my child with booze? I know the amount that reaches them is minimal but still. I'd drunk loads of water and I felt fine

LaLaLaaaa · 29/11/2015 09:41

Also that's the last time I go out until he sleeps better! Been up every 2/3 hours with him and without my usual couple hours sleep at the start of the night I am really feeling it!

ZylaB · 29/11/2015 09:44

It's fine la, it leaves your milk as it leaves your blood so the 9pm one would be completely gone anyways. And if you felt fine and not drunk it's fine!

LaLaLaaaa · 29/11/2015 09:58

Thank you I feel like a bad mum but there's nothing I could do, he needed feeding. He seems absolutely fine this morning. My mum was here and sat with me while I fed him because I was afraid I might be more sleepy but it was fine.

RPopz · 29/11/2015 10:07

It's fine La. I have a couple of glasses of red almost every Saturday night and still feed. It's the tiniest of amounts that ends up in your milk. Did you enjoy your night out??

Hope E is ok today cookie!

Mr P does that too purple... Just lays in bed with him and expects him to magically fall asleep! Angry

LaLaLaaaa · 29/11/2015 10:12

Oh god I meant to say purple that's exactly what Mr La does too! Well he used to - I sat him down one day and explained why he needs to move when rocking. He used to sit down with him and look at his phone, expecting B just to magically fall asleep! He's much better now.

It was fun! It was with my antenatal exercise class lot - we all got dressed up and had such a laugh. They are lovely girls.

B now asleep on my chest. He's getting a bit big to do this!!!

LaLaLaaaa · 29/11/2015 10:12

How's miniPopz feeling? Is he still poorly?

cookielove · 29/11/2015 10:13

I am really not sure what happened with E he coughed then threw up, 4 times while driving. When we got in we cleaned him up didn't give him food till he asked for it, coughed randomly but hasn't thrown up since. Has had milk, which we should avoid. But has kept it down. He was really poorly for around two weeks and his eating has only slightly improved since. Now we are back to square one :(

He has started forward facing when with my parents so thought maybe it's the rear facing that may be an issue! Hmm we shall see.

la no clue about the milk as I barely breastfed :( and don't drink Grin

Oh and phone is probably buggered but we shall see.

Fleurchamp · 29/11/2015 15:52

Hope E gets better soon cookie

Glad you had a good night la I have some nights out coming up and although I am looking forward to them I am dreading getting less sleep Sad

I think alcohol is ok in reasonable quantities - even our nct militant BF woman said she would happily drink 2-3 glasses of wine and then feed. I wouldn't have more than two because I couldn't face a hangover and S!

DH has gone Christmas shopping - S decided it was a good point to release his bowels - I swear he waits until I am on nappy duty!
