Add your stats Viroids (or don't bother). I feel like there's something I'm supposed to write here but don't know what it is... Confused

Yay for sleeping R min

So turns out I don't think H was teething, she's poorly, had a rash come out yesterday, nothing serious..just one of those they can get when Ill. So hopefully back to her normal smiley self soon, unless she's teething as well..in which case, hurry up tooth! (She's certainly sort of working on one of her top ones).

I also think she's not going to crawl, she rolls to get to places and if I help her stick her bum in the air to crawl, she automatically combat rolls over her shoulder to move. Seems her daddy got about by rolling until he walked, looks bloody ridiculous, but I don't think I get any say in the matter lol!

ZylaB · 30/09/2015 16:25

And if I ever get my periods back and we have another I'm going straight for an elective CS because the induction was a waste of bloody time and I won't be allowed to go to term so I'd rather have a calm CS than an emergency one again!

purplewhale · 30/09/2015 21:39

Zyla I'd do the same again. ELCS isn't a walk in the park but based on the alternatives it would be my preference next time.

Hairdressers went fine, he slept through it and I got 2 inches chopped off.

B now has a cold and is very unhappy. I've managed to use the aspirator to get some bogies out fucking delightful. He won't settle and we're a bit clueless. I'm going to put some Vicks on a tissue by his crib to help him breathe. He's breathing is noisy but he doesn't have a temperature. I know he's too small for calpol. Any other suggestions welcome Smile

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 30/09/2015 22:00

Purple for colds when P was a baby we elevated the head of his cot to help him breath. We also used a vapour rub on his feet and tied a muslin with some rub on it on his cot rail - some aren't suitable for very small babies though. Also used a plug in vaporiser, which made the room smell lovely! Other than that, lots of cuddles and naps in the pram in the fresh air.

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 30/09/2015 22:02

I also remember spending a few long, long nights with him sleeping on us propped almost upright as he refused to be our down on his back.

ZylaB · 30/09/2015 22:15

purple I've run a shower in the bathroom with the door shut to make it really steamy and sat with H in there for a while before to clear her out a bit or when feeding if she's really snuffly. Do check the rubs as some aren't meant to be used with little ones. Hope he feels better soon! Oh, you can get saline drops to put up their nose (lay them on your lap with he'd tipped over the edge slightly so you can put drops up the nose) which can help if they get really blocked with snot.

ZylaB · 30/09/2015 22:15

Head not he'd

ZylaB · 30/09/2015 22:17

First ever trip to soft play tomorrow, am I about to enter a new realm of hell? Though I did just make cheese and spinach muffins for H to have for lunch tomorrow so am slightly smug mummy! it happens so rarely I'm allowed to crow slightly hehe

purplewhale · 30/09/2015 23:39

Thanks. I've put a tiny bit of Vicks on a tissue and tied to crib rail. Also elevated the crib a bit. He's calm now so hopefully he will sleep a bit

LaLaLaaaa · 01/10/2015 03:50

Purple - calpol saline drops, snuffle babes or olbas oil. B too little to inhale olbas so out on tissue by cot. Also calpol plug in meant to be good. Bath before bed to loosen everything up and aspirate. Hope he gets well soon!

Zyla - soft play

Enjoy!

DulcetMoans · 01/10/2015 05:12

All the things people have said are what we've been doing purple. It's a pain when they are snotty! Saline has done nothing for us though. Keep pumping it up there and nothing is coming down!

Great news on the ongoing holiday success min!

That all sounds awful snap. I don't really have anything to suggest except whatever you need to make you happy while you get through it - chocolate, coffee, gin!

Did you get the power back popz?! Not that I am a fan of that smarmy Rinder git but no telly is a disaster! I think two do occupy each other when they are a bit older. My cousins two do anyway, sometimes means they need intervention though!

8minute nap went to a 50minute nap yesterday. So getting better. Couldn't replicate it though and he was so angry when he woke up - like I had tricked him! He's now half awake too, just had to change him and he was wet AGAIN! Not sure why he keeps leaking overnight. Any tips?

LaLaLaaaa · 01/10/2015 07:37

Dulcet do you pull the frilly bits out round the legs of nappy? We didn't when we first had b as we didn't know to and the nappy leaked. Other thing I can think of is pull it tighter - or has he grown out of the size? B is nearly out of size 3 - it starts to leak at back when the nappy is too small.

Well done on the nap!!

B woke as usual at 4:30 onwards but we ignored him and he seemed to start to sort himself out and didn't cry. So I just got sleep from 4:30-6:30 for first time!

LaLaLaaaa · 01/10/2015 07:37

Never heard of Rinder

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 01/10/2015 08:52

Dulcet is it ok to have chocolate, coffee and gin for breakfast?

Great progress with the nap. They do seem so cross about waking up with no-one there to greet them. Re nappies, as La said it might be a case if needing the next size up. Also make sure his willy is pointing straight down - MiniSnap dresses to the left and sometimes leaks out that side if I don't straighten him up!

purplewhale · 01/10/2015 09:06

The Vicks seemed to work. He was bad to get off to sleep initially as he had a lot of wind. But we actually had a better night. I don't suppose for one minute it will continue but I'll take it Smile
He's still asleep now but I had to get up as the cleaners are coming firstworldproblems

I will get some snufflebabe though, he's too little for calpol - I checked! I think we need to start giving infacol with evening feeds as that's when he's colicky and screams. Last night at one point I was worried there was something badly wrong as he wouldn't stop, then like the flick of a switch he did and went to sleep!

I'd like a 2 year gap, I think I'd like B to be a bit self sufficient and some understanding before having another one.

LaLaLaaaa · 01/10/2015 09:25

Purple that sounds like normal tired baby to me rather than wind - 'I'm not tired I'm not tired I'm not tired!!!!!' Then they go out like a light. My b does that every evening

mountaingirl01 · 01/10/2015 09:27

Poor little purple! M has a cold too so I feel your pain! Feel so helpless when she's snuffling- am going to try the Vicks trick tonight (might help dh and I too!). Calpol isn't licenced for babies under 2 months but is perfectly safe to give. We prescribe it in hospital. How much does V weigh? I've had to give up on infacol, it was making M sick.

Trying another baby group this morning- was feeling all smug about being up and nearly ready... then M kicked the bottle of olive oil over me whilst having a little tantrum on the changing mat. Hmm think anyone will notice on black trousers?! only jeans that fit

mountaingirl01 · 01/10/2015 09:28

I really want a cleaner..

LaLaLaaaa · 01/10/2015 09:36

Olive oil? Are you making a baby salad?

Yes the hospital gave us infant calpol when b was 2 weeks old and said it was fine.

Aspirator for unblocking nose is great, plus fascinating to see what comes out sporn lover

Just made dh take b downstairs so I can have half an hour baby free. We've got to leave for osteopath in An hour and I can hear tired baby noises downstairs. Do you think he'll think to put him down for a nap?

LaLaLaaaa · 01/10/2015 09:36

Also want cleaner. Yesterday I cleaned kitchen and bathroom while b napped.

mountaingirl01 · 01/10/2015 09:44

Lol dh keeps reminding me she is not a chicken.. I put it on her skin as she has really dry peely skin courtesy of her father

comeagainforbigfudge · 01/10/2015 10:00

I've been awol for a few days. Think we are having a few days in a row of good days Shock I'm under no illusions though. It won't last.

Ordered a wrap last night. Going to try this baby wearing lark! ?? probably won't enjoy it but well, I might surprise myself!

Purple I had a screaming infant at night as well. (Or rather several hours a day) we found giving infacol with just about every feed stopped the build up. Also make sure you give it at least 5mins before a feed.
Or if you feel that doesn't work, try dentinox.

I have to say, I'm feeling rather envious of all you ladies that have been to baby classes already. I haven't been to ANY yet.

cookielove · 01/10/2015 10:04

Hello all :)

We had lots of issues with leaking nappies at night when E was little, we moved him into the next size up and used pampers baby dry! Ultimately the only thing that really worked was less milk at night, which stopped him weeing so much but I think you are a long way off from that. My friend changed her lo's at there 11pm feed!

Be careful with the olbas oil and the like there was an article about it the other day, parents put it on a muslin and their child sucked it off! She had to be rushed to hospital. Severe reaction.

We put a drop of kids olbas oil on E's back (sleepbag) when he has a cold as he sleeps on his tummy, he can't reach it!

DulcetMoans · 01/10/2015 12:31

Thanks all. Will try the next size up. He's in 2 at the moment but we have some 3s. Big done reusables at night as they leak too, not having much luck! Could be a dressing issue snap, it's always the left that is wet. Oh, and that is a ideal breakfast!

Didn't know bus oil was dangerous cookie, we've been using it all week! Mostly under the armpit of the sleep suit though so hopefully that's ok.

Why haven't you been out fudge? Not that you have to, just wondered if something was stopping you. I've been to a group this morning but it's just a drop in so no commitment. Just chat! Depends what's in your area though.

What did you do with your half hour la??

RPopz · 01/10/2015 15:29

What wrap fudge??

No tv at nap time is a mega disaster!! It came back half way through thankfully. Must admit I also hated Rinder at first....

Definitely try a bigger size Dulcet - minipopz stormed through the nappy sizes for the first 3 months. He's been in 4+ ones for ages now though.

Coconut oil is good for scaly skin mountain and it makes them smell like Bounty Smile

I also want a cleaner!! Too decadent in a 3 bed terrace!?

MrPopz is being a cunt. Seriously, when do they get better at this??
