Add your stats Viroids (or don't bother). I feel like there's something I'm supposed to write here but don't know what it is... Confused

purplewhale · 17/09/2015 19:55

Yeah he's off next week too. I went to bed and slept for 2 hours this afternoon. Have woken up shaky and cold. Now under a slanket with heating on and a wheat bag on my legs!
Just what we need! I'm just hoping B doesn't get whatever it is

comeagainforbigfudge · 17/09/2015 20:00

Evening all.

Rather good day here. Popped into work to get wage slips, went round seeing everyone (or rather trying trying to find people I knew... sooooo many new starts!). Came home without wage slips!!! Couldn't find them. Hopefully someone has posted them out helpful
DD was a star until she got hungry. Then was a star again Grin

purple my OH is full on dad during day BUT at that stage we were splitting night waking. So I would go to bed early. He would stay up til about 2, doing all care. Then I would take over. Agree with overnight nappy only if needed.

pis my wee one is a catnapper as well. Even in her pram she'll only sleep for a wee while til I stop moving in other words wish sometimes she would conk out for an hour so I can get on with stuff or you know, relax for 5mins withBrew

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 17/09/2015 20:18

Popz I remember having to practically sit on P to change his nappy at that age. And I was worried the neighbours would be calling social services, the amount he screamed!

Purple, for a couple of weeks after MiniSnap was born (in July) I was unable to regulate my body temperature when I slept, either freezing cold and shivery or sweaty and hot. The MW said this is quite normal - hormones? - and it gradually eased up. Hopefully it's that rather than a lurgy?

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 17/09/2015 20:22

Min my first dropped his morning nap not long after he started nursery when he was a year old. They're all different, though, there might be a bit of trial and error and shifting of times. He's three and a bit now and still loves a long afternoon nap.

RPopz · 17/09/2015 21:26

Oooh that's good to know mountain .... I've had a glass of wine every night this week anyway ShockGrin

Haha snap that sounds familiar!! Its not so bad this week as DH is off work so I can enlist his help. Lord knows what I'll do when he goes back next week - I don't have enough hands!! And YY to the blood curdling screams... Hmm My neighbour has 5 kids though so I'm sure she knows the drill!

Minipopz is a catnapper too Pis - feel your pain. He'll do an hour in his cot at a push, with wall to wall white noise. The pram and sling have lost their sleepy magic. Wow. Are you still in the sleep regression?

Feel better soon purple. (Are you eating enough? I felt really woozy and terrible for the first few days of bfing because I wasn't eating properly)

purplewhale · 17/09/2015 21:27

That's very interesting Snap thanks. I feel a bit shaky but not ill

Work have emailed me today asking if I can do some staff training. They were taking my phone and laptop off me to stop me working I had no intention and now they are short on resources they want help.
It will have to be on my terms and not yet. They'll have to come to me too!

mountaingirl01 · 17/09/2015 23:05

Guys, is it normal for mini to be pooing during every feed? Got to be about 8 times today..

RPopz · 17/09/2015 23:17

I think so mountain. Minipopz pooed in every nappy for a bit. Is it yellow and mustardy? It gets less frequent over time!

mountaingirl01 · 17/09/2015 23:26

Yup looks like dal Shock just checking it's normal! Becoming a bit of a vicious cycle of feed, poo, change (= scream) etc. Also quite amusing to watch dh marvel at how much shit one tiny baby can make!!

DulcetMoans · 18/09/2015 09:55

Just to reiterate, I miss the app!

Hi to chook and fudge! Normally around more but struggle to type on the web version on phone one handed!

That sounds normal mountain. We had a pooer every feed. It's so rude when they are right under your nose! He poos every couple of days now so does get better but still normally while feeding - no manners!

What a scary experience la! So lucky the lady was walking past when you went outside. I am sure it was a fluke thing but can understand you being nervous.

Hope you are feeling better purple. Do make the most of DH while he's off. Just tell him what you need. Annoying but sometimes they are a bit head less!

Are you feeling better popz? Shame you can't get a cuddle out of the minipopz. Maybe sneak one in his sleep. If he ever sleeps.

I'm having sleep woes too. BIL had a baby a week ago who doesn't cry and sleeps all the time. Two of my NCT class have babies sleeping 6 hours and one 13hours a night! I was up 12.30, 3, 6 and 8 - that's a good night! What am I doing wrong?!

Minion · 18/09/2015 10:29

Nothing dulcet!
You're doing nothing wrong.
R slept brilliantly till 4 months. Then it went to shit.
As a newborn she stayed awake for 30 mins max.
Everyone commented on how placid she was.
Now look at her...
Fuck I'm knackered. She was up from 11:30. 2:15, 3:30,4:50.
Note I've come to soft play assuming she wouldn't want an early nap and now I'm sat her with her kipping and be trying not to look too creepy looking at other kids.

purplewhale · 18/09/2015 11:34

la how you doing today lovie?

dulcet I miss the app too.

Where's Tee she's not been on for a while, hope you're ok if you're lurking

I was told a newborn baby that doesn't wake for feeds is a problem

mountain We were pooing every feed then it changed last night. He only pooed on one feed not all 4. I was starting to worry a bit that he'd be constipated but figured he can't poo every 2-3 hours forever Smile

Last night I just asked DH to get me a bottle when I started feeding, he did it without moaning. We had words cos he couldn't see why I didn't just ask instead of getting cross. I told him he shouldn't be sighing when I ask him to help me!

BF is now more like 20 mins every feed. He's still taking quite a lot of formula as well. He won't wait for it either. Within 5 mins of deboobing he's screaming. I am wondering just how much he's getting. I'll do a 20 min pump today to see how much there is.

Fecking Fragmin has got me again. I have a 10cm dia bruise below my belly button and it's bloody sore. I only have another 6 syringes left. I'm wondering what the risk is if I stop now. I'm 10 days post surgery

Fleurchamp · 18/09/2015 12:21

Hope you're ok la and everyone else MIA due to the app.

Ouch purple that sounds nasty - how long do you have to keep injecting if you stick to the rules?

I have an every other day poo-er too. For the first few weeks we were getting through about 15 nappies a day Shock

comeagainforbigfudge · 18/09/2015 13:16

purple I felt awful shaky at times. I needed blood after delivery and subsequently have needed iron tablets. Might be worth getting GP to check yours for you? The iron tablets made such a difference as did a full nights sleep that OH made me take once I got home from hospital and maybe question the fragmin. I only needed to take a weeks worth. But there may be a reason. Try not to rub the injection site as that dies cause bruises ime.

Also. Does your work remember that you just had a baby?!!!! Don't be doing anything your not ready for. Also make sure it doesn't interfere with your mat leave. (As in they don't see it as you "returning to work")

Sleeping during the day woes here. So far little'un has had 20mins. And I've just got her off for another nap. Hoping she stays asleep whilst I try and eat something. I should take her out for a walk but I'm feeling very energy-less today.

Hope everything is well la

WilHarlot · 18/09/2015 14:24

Hello hello.

I started trying to catch up but there was too much so hope everybody's ok. How is miniLa today? And have they figured out what's going on with the jaundice Fleur?
Hope you are enjoying your holiday zyla and that there was good news about the cat.

I was away for a week and then have just been too busy to come back on. I miss the app. Sleep is virtually non-existent here. Micro is teething so up three or four times and them Mini is up at 5. I am pretty much dealing with it all as MrWil is struggling to sleep as it is and his work is full on at the moment. So it's fun fun fun over at chez wil.

Purple noticed your post above. Expressing won't give you an indication of how much milk you have. You can have loads of milk and hardly express anything.

OP posts:
Indigoblue2 · 18/09/2015 15:38

Yeah purple I'd be very wary of judging supply by what you get while pumping, pumps are meant to be crap compared to babies!!

RPopz · 18/09/2015 15:40

Hello Dulcet! I'm feeling much better thank you Smile You're definitely not doing anything wrong... If you are then so am I. Minip wakes every 2 hours as standard at the moment. Brand new newborns can be v sleepy for a few days but it doesn't last long... Think your BIL will be disappointed. And 13 hours is ridic!! That must be a fib??!

How was the week away wil? Good to hear from you.

We went to soft play this morning too Min. Resulted in the first good sling nap in ages Grin

Sending tea and hugs La. Hope you and B are ok today x

purplewhale · 18/09/2015 15:49

Oh ok didn't know that. Shan't bother then!

Bloody work. They are having major issues, all very unexpected and it's a tiny company so they are struggling without me there. However I have just had a baby, he's 10 days old and he needs me so he comes first. They will have to cope for the short term. It's annoying cos I saved like mad to afford mat leave so I didn't have to do any work while off. They wanted me incommunicado so I didn't do any work!

We've had our first lunch out as a family. B got to go to the pub, the highlight for him was having his bum changed in the disabled loo!

Hope you get some sleep soon Wil

fudge my iron was checked in hospital. Should I get it done again?

Fleur I've got 6 syringes left so 6 days inc today

Fleurchamp · 18/09/2015 17:03

purple I am having work woes too Sad I live close to the office and so often bump into colleagues. I have had so many texts and calls it has wound me up. My boss asked me to come in so she could see S (she loves kids) and to have a coffee and catch up but when I got there she asked me loads of work related stuff Angry

I basically told her I am not at work and can't help.

deeplybaffled · 18/09/2015 17:56

Hello - may i zombie walk on to the grad grads thread? been meaning to for a while but site was up and down, and as baby d appears to be a non sleeping bottomless milk pit, i hadn't managed it.
can someone please tell me when the magic age is when they sleep for more than a few hours at night? Last night, she slept from 10.30 till 11.30 and would then only nap when held by dh until 3.30ish . she was then up from 5.30am till 9ish and slept then till 11ish, but has only just got back to sleep again now. Who are these alleged newborns who sleep 16 hrs a day???
coping at moment by sleeping in shifts with dh, who has been fab, but goes back to work in about 10 days, which is a very scary thought Sad
on the bright side, i know that there is nothing wrong with her lungs.....Smile

WilHarlot · 18/09/2015 18:06

Good on you Fleur. How annoying for both of you.

Week away was fine. Just at the inlaws but nice to get a change of scene. I don't think the sleep will be better any time soon so just trying to get in a competitive mindset about it.

Just had a comedy moment. Thought I'd give BabyWil some nappy free time as her arse is red raw. Thank God I put a towel down as shit started pouring from her. Then had to dangle her to stop her crawling it across the carpet. Cleaned up and went to get a fresh towel and when I came back there was more just about to hit the floor. So I did a lunge and flung her onto the changing mat. Got all cleared, turned round and MiniWil (who was asleep) peed all over the couch. Hmm

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 18/09/2015 19:10

Good to have you back, Wil, and loving the poomaggedon story! They are evil geniuses these babies.

I found poo on my glasses the other day.

Minion · 18/09/2015 19:24

Christ wil! Poonami or what!
Hi deeply, all mythical horror being walks are welcomed. I'm very familiar with zombie.
How old is yours now? They soon start to understand the difference between day and night, it's just the shit in between stage.. It passes I promise.
Afraid to say I had the 16 hour sleeper. It's bit me in the arse however so don't think they stay the same.
Wish they did tho.
I've the most awful ERTD pains. In my thighs, arse, back and tummy. Whoever said that period pains are better post kid was lying out their fucking teeth.
Bastards.

purplewhale · 18/09/2015 20:36

Welcome back Wil What a poonami!

Hey Deeply, how you doing?

Anybody got any good ways to get rid of hiccups? Sometimes he won't take more milk and sometimes it doesn't work. He only seems to get them when DH feeds him. I think he's jigging him around too much. I'm trying to sit still with him after a feed. DH won't listen!

Also when should we start with tummy time?

Chookford · 18/09/2015 20:49

Hi dulcet thanks for the welcome! Hope your little one starts to give you more sleep soon..

purple M has terrible hiccups when she was being fed if too much air was being sucked in, not sure what bottles you use when you ff but we used the tommee tippee and didn't realise to start with they have a vent to have at the top to stop this happening, once we realised her hiccups stopped.... Not sure if that helps at all!

Does anyone else have a baby that shouts a lot? M is constantly doing it to the point where you can't hear the TV over the racket she makes! It does my head in as she is trying to tell me she is frustrated like I didn't clock that! Hmm

She also dodges sleep during the day, cat naps here and there but she does sleep 13 hours a night at the moment so I can cope with most things as I'm so lucky, that's not to say it will last I'm sure it won't but for the moment I'm making the most of it!
