Hello purple hope it all goes well next week & your over here with a little squishy bundle soon.

No help with the baby feeding/diets, I don't understand why HV are obsessed with all babies being on the 50th centile for weight, it's like expecting them all to be the same length!

popz well done on the cake & biscuit free day, your will power is better than mine!

What's happened to juni did she go on holiday?

LaLaLaaaa · 31/08/2015 20:56

snap yes I have to say I'm finding her tone extremely patronising! I'm not going to explain to my baby what I'm about to do, when it's obvious he's about to start screaming if he doesn't spy an uncovered boob in the next 2 seconds. Also yes the order of EASY doesn't make sense 9 times out of 10, as DS is usually snoring at the end of a feed! And I have to say I like it that way - it's lovely when he cuddles up afterwards. I did try putting him down on the activity mat the other day after feed and took a photo of him asleep on it for proof that you can lead them to activity, but you can't make them join in!

Hi purple!!

We were doing really well today but the fussiness kicked in this afternoon and I've had a grizzly baby for most of the time since. He is just full of wind all the time, so it wakes him up when he's asleep. My routine with him then goes to pot as he's tired, but wants to nurse, so will nurse nicely for a few minutes then start pulling away and screaming again. At least half the day is nice enough!

Today I have eaten a giant bar of galaxy, 2 squares of dark chocolate my dm gave dh as a present (I got haribo) and, half a jamaica ginger cake. Does that make you feel better about your cake/crap eating? Well done popz for abstaining!

Tired...we are sitting in the dark as neither of us can be arsed to get up and put light on after soothing DS to sleep after a particularly bad tired meltdown. Can't hear the TV over the white noise app. We do look ridiculous sitting in the dark listening to a recording of an air conditioner!

Fuck it! I just wrote a massive post and lost it.
la yes we weaned at 17 weeks as her milk intake dropped massively and as soon as food passed her lips it was as if she'd been on them forever.
Also we follow the easy loosely routine. Which is much better as now she recognises she's hungry. She gets arsey around 8,11:30,4 and 6 so that's for food and 9:15,1 and 6:30 for bedtime.
I do love routine.

R has worked out how to use the pouffe to get into the sofa. It's scary how fast she figures it out.

cookielove · 31/08/2015 21:15

E has just worked out he can use the foot stool to get up onto the sofa :( he is a pickle for climbing and when not getting his way he launches himself backwards

Good thing he is cute, Grin

la when E was little we just did what he wanted it wasn't until he was having three meals a day that a routine happened!

WilHarlot · 31/08/2015 21:23

As you could maybe guess, I have a problem with anyone telling me how to do something and therefore have not read the Baby Whisperer. My friend followed the EASY routine though and liked it. Like you though, it makes more sense to me to feed before a sleep as they naturally seem to do that. All these routines seem to want to make babies do things they wouldn't normally do.

Juni said she was taking a break from MN. She is on my fb and is ok I think.

I also had half a jamaica cake La . Don't tell anyone though as it is most definitely not dairy free. Feel a bit guilty but she seems fine.

RPopz · 31/08/2015 21:31

Hiya purple that's gone fast!! Exciting times!

La - you're still earning your treats with all that clusterfeeding! Wink

I've probably not been that virtuous as I've had two bowls of cereal and some toast as snacks instead... Blush

Totally agree min it is crazy how fast they learn. MiniP only started properly crawling yesterday but he's going for speed and distance today!!

Think we're going to put an offer in on a house tomorrow - eeek!

PixieChops · 31/08/2015 21:50

Speaking of eating shit I've had 3 mini rolls, a full family bag of chocolate buttons and some twirl bites- not even arsed and I've had a full fry up and loads of spaghetti bolonaise and bout 6 brews. I should weigh the size of a house but I run around so bloody much that instead I look half starved!
It was Rs paediatrician that said I needed to slow down his intake of milk as he was having 12oz more than the recommended amount and had jumped up 3 percentile for weight since birth. He's a big lad and if you've seen the most recent picture you'll agree that he looks healthy and happy so there's no way that I'm changing anything. To be fair to him he has slowed down a little and isn't having as much. He's having 5 7oz bottles a day now rather than 6 so he's cut down quite a bit already.
Wow Popz that's exciting!!! Fingers crossed you get it! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow :)

Told the parents that were thinking of going to Canada. My step dad reckons it's the best idea we've ever had as the possibilities to make a better life for ourselves out there is much better than here. Due to OHs trade he's so quiet over winter and we struggle to pay bills. At least over there he'd have permanent and constant work under an employer.

Lol Wil! I'm
Just like you, hate being told what to do, I'll do it my way and if it's wrong I'll fathom it out for myself. It's like that Gina Ford woman, I heard she doesn't even have kids but she can apparently write a book about putting a 2 week old and telling me when to eat and have a shower? Fuck off love! (Gina not you Wil haha)

Minion · 31/08/2015 21:52

Same here cookie, we just went with whatever before but as soon as she was on 3 meals she did it herself.
Thank fuck for that I say.
Didn't know if I was coming or going.

Pisghetti · 31/08/2015 21:53

Good luck Purple! See you on the other side very soon...

One of the March Mummies has just found out she's expecting Shock

Exciting Popz! Changing area or just looking for something bigger?

I've been totally on plan this week. My own scales told me -4lb this morning so went along to SW this afternoon thinking I must be a contender for slimmer of the week and their scales said big fat NOTHING! Ball bags. I've had a magnum and a glass of wine to help me over it.... I'll be back on plan tomorrow.....

BabyPis fancies having a go at crawling but hasn't worked out she should use her arms and isn't strong enough to get up on knees so she's face planting and using her nose to drag herself along the floor Grin will have to watch her though as inefficient as the technique is, she can get to the edge of a bed pretty quick!

I used the bra calculator - I currently wear a 38E/F and it reckoned 34H. I'm really not convinced but will have a go when I'm in town in the week and see how it feels. I've also ordered 'that' dress for a wedding in a couple of weeks so will see how it looks with some super slurpy hold it in pants....

La having a baby in a sling does a similar thing to tummy time. No way could I have put BabyPis on the floor for that long everyday! She'd go mental.

I might have bought another wrap Blush

LaLaLaaaa · 31/08/2015 22:27

Jeeez pis that's fast work! My mum told me today to mind I don't get pregnant again yet. Wtf!?! When am I meant to find time or energy for sex? Fuck right off I say!

Pixie yes Gina ford is cheeky as hell in my opinion. My sil quotes her to me and I have to bite my tongue. I did go Shock At the 2 hour tummy time thing today though.

We are so way off 3 feeds. I have no idea how many feeds we do. He wakes up so frequently and just snacks - usually half to 1 boob (around 10 mins average). Night time he sleeps longer and tahrs whole boob. He used to have boob and half but falls asleep or pulls off after one now. I presume my supply has adjusted or something. He's been asleep for 2 hours - weeeeeeee!!!! So exciting. Hopefully he'll have good feed after this then sleep long again.

God how do you cope with mobile children? That's the one saving grace just now - he has to stay where I put him!

LaLaLaaaa · 31/08/2015 22:28

Pis I'd go with your scales!

Pops - very exciting! Bigger house?

OP posts:
ZylaB · 01/09/2015 04:08

pis stop weighing yourself at home! not that I do it, oh no! you can vary loads in a day, I easily vary by 4 or 5 lbs in a day, wish my weigh in was in the morning as I'm best then!

I am here guys, reading regularly, I just think I'm boring, nothing much is going on. Mh may be cutting her second tooth and is struggling, but apart from that I'm trundling along, very slowly losing weight - 1lb this week :(

purple that's so exciting!! Do they have to use the drip? I'd ask them, the CS doesn't take too long and they were happy for me to not have it as my sugars were fine.

DulcetMoans · 01/09/2015 04:23

Good luck on the new house popz! Positive vibes for your offer making!

Bf babies do poo les for sure la. I've discussed J's movements with many advisors and HVs now. He went 5 days without last week. It's because breast milk is pretty much all used so not much waste.

You're doing do well either the weightless pis. So long as you use the sand scales then you should get a good reading. If you know there is 4lb from those scales last week gorg claim it!

(No idea what I'm typing as this stupid blue banner is in the way on mobile app!)

Sounds like Canada is a go pixie! How exciting and great to have a goal. Do out know where in canada you would go?

You're in trouble now then cookie! Not long before you're running around moving stuff out the way!

No idea where or how infection happened la. I'm also not convinced that's what it is but I have two antibiotics to see if it helps. Apparently one for oxygen fed infection and one or not oxygen fed or something like that.

Why goby the babies sleep?! Whhhhhyyyy?

LaLaLaaaa · 01/09/2015 05:48

minila just ate whole engorged boob then vomited it back over the bed. I was prepared though and was sitting under a towel - ha, foiled!

Sent him off with Dh to get hos outfit changes and have just heard him do the largest poo ever. That must've felt good! Poor Dh though Grin

Minion · 01/09/2015 06:19

People with crawling babies. Tell me that the urge to crawl in their sleep stops? Every 2 hrs I have seen my child tonight. And she probably wasn't even awake for the visits. She's so loud as she moves around the cot ,face down making that urgggggghhhhh sound they do when they are frustrated.
I've just tried to give her some milk to get another precious hour, no go, now I can hear banging her dummy on the cot.

PixieChops · 01/09/2015 07:23

Thinking of British Columbia region Dulcet. :)

Omfg I'm so tired today. P kept waking up last night and crying in her sleep so had to keep going in and putting her dummy in. Then obviously R was waking in the night for feeds (OHs night) and then they were both up at 6! P is going to have a long ass day today at the child minders! She'll be thoroughly shattered by the time she comes home later.
P never really crawled around in her cot when she learnt so I don't have any advice on it Min. However I was told that children become easier in some ways and harder in others. For example P does sleep longer than R but she needs A LOT of stimulating during the day otherwise we get nights like last night where she's waking up a lot. R on the other hand doesn't move but he's up during the night. Swings and roundabouts situation with kids. Once you've cracked one thing something else comes along.
Hope you all had a better sleep than us, I collapsed in a heap the second time P cried- too tired and jumped out of bed too quick so hit the decks, but if a sore head this morning Confused

FurryScoob · 01/09/2015 08:43

No help here min the sleep crawlings been going on for weeks, if you find a way to stop it let me know! MiniS would sleep through if she didn't keep crawling round the cot & banging her head on the side.

Those of you with older reflux babies when do they switch to normal milk? My HV told me the reflux would magically disappear as miniS ate more solid food & she could go back on normal formula but she now eats 3 meals a day & normal formula doesn't stay down.

LaLaLaaaa · 01/09/2015 09:39

adds sleep crawling to list of things babies do that I had no idea about

Pixie - cat nap for you today?

Good luck popz!

We are off to baby play time - no idea what that is but I'm meeting friends there. B is wearing a zebra outfit in celebration

Can I have permission to shoot my Dh? He just doesn't listen. Been trying to teach him to listen and watch B for cues as to what he wants but each time he just says 'he's hungry' and passes him to me. I've just stripped to my bra for second time only to find he's not hungry he just needs winding.

Thanks viroids Smile Same area, just up the road from us actually. But its an end terrace so much bigger! There hasn't been much interest in it I don't think (we don't live in the most salubrious area Hmm) so hopefully we will get it. But we are making cheeky offers first! Feel a bit nervy about putting ours up for sale though. We've done so much work on it and I love it Sad

Oooh what wrap pis??? MiniP did the head crawling thing too - hysterical Grin Was the March pg planned?? Shock

YY to sleep crawling min. Before that it was sleep rolling.... Though he seems happy sleeping on his front now.

RPopz · 01/09/2015 09:48

Have fun at playtime La! MrP still ignores/claims to have no ideas about mini's cues... Angry

Cbeebies day for you pix

Minion · 01/09/2015 10:02

She getting there with the tummy sleeping, she used to roll onto her side straight away, now it's onto her front. Think she just freaks out a smidge when she wakes so whines a bit and goes back off.
But man alive, it's loud.
I think tonight I just let her be until we hit crying stage.
She's so close to crawling I can smell it, she gets up on all 4s, goes forward and then relaxes her legs, it's as if she thinks 'yep, done it, what's next?'
Then she remembers she much prefers standing and cruising as she can be nosier.
Didn't even know babies could do that before crawling.

I've just booked her induction days at nursery.

Sob!

RPopz · 01/09/2015 10:32

Aww min! When you back at work?

Minion · 01/09/2015 10:42

I think it may be end of October.
I probably should find out for sure eh,

ZylaB · 01/09/2015 11:28

Had an awful night, up 4 or 5 times but her second tooth is through so I hope tonight will be better. At my mum's for the day now so she can help :)

ZylaB · 01/09/2015 11:29

Oh, and I've also decided I neeeeeed my underwires bras back, so am wearing pre preg ones as they seem to fit again..watch me block my ducts or something...but they're not too tight so I'm hopong it'll be ok...I've missed having my boobs this high up lol
