I would always go for the black wil as I have the palest skin and cannot carry off white at all.

Glad you had good nights dulcetand popz

la it does sound like reflux - S had the same symptoms. I agree, can you try to see a different GP? I am fortunate that the GP we saw , although not experienced with babies had the nous to call another GP in for another opinion.

I have an extremely sore right boob Sad
Last night I fed S but the boob had some hard sore lumps and S was starving even though he had been on there 40 mins.
A quick google made me think I had a bleb on my nipple so I spent ages massaging, using hot cloths and expressing. Eventually I rubbed my nipple with a flannel (ouch!) and milk started pouring out. I expressed (with a non sterile pump, weep) and got 3oz out!
I have fed S from the sore breast first at each feed (I even woke him up to do it as the internet suggested not going long between feeds). The boob feels like it is draining now but where the lumps were are incredibly sore!

Do you think it's where I massaged (using a really firm pressure) loads? It feels and looks bruised Sad

I keep googling and coming up with mastitis - I really don't fancy a trip to the ood today - thoughts?

RPopz · 23/08/2015 09:13

Sounds like blocked ducts fleur? You're doing to right things. I think you're ok to skip ooh unless you get a fever.

Oh Pis! Grin Definitely one to chalk up on the delights of motherhood board!! That'll be me next weekend Confused Question - how did you fit the pump in your handbag??

What's the dress for wil?

Zyla's H had silent reflux La - maybe ask her?

I'm always planning a drastic do change Dulcet - I am a hair tart! Grin

MILs are funny creatures...

LaLaLaaaa · 23/08/2015 09:14

I do t know a lot about mastitis Fleur - but is it red at all? Sounds like something was blocked and you released it with massage. Is S any better since the cranial osteopath?

Wil - another vote for black with print - also have Scottish skin and I avoid white like the plague as a result

MiniLa is perfectly content sitting upright on my knee in bed. No signs of pain.

If it's reflux they can't do anything can they? Except give gaviscon? What did they do for S Fleur? GP mentioned gaviscon on Friday as next step. Might phone tomorrow to see if she will prescribe it without seeing us.

Things is he's fine during the day - doesn't do the waking up thing! It's only in his crib. He's also only taking half feeds at night now - presumably because he's feeding so often. During day he feeds both boobs

Mini - that's such a shame about your mil! Why can't they not interfere :(. Step mil was doing so well yesterday, then said 'oh no I don't thing he's hungry' when I went to feed (on demand) my hungry dehydrated baby after the walk they took him on. I just gave her a look and she said 'sorry, I'll stop interfering'

Yes please to baby massage stuff. HV showed me some the other day but any more info appreciated!

I told MrP what a dick he was being last night. He looked a bit teary for a bit Blush haha. Watch this space.

RPopz · 23/08/2015 09:16

YouTube for baby massage vids La.

Ranitidine for reflux I think. There's others after that but they always seem to use gaviscon first.

ZylaB · 23/08/2015 09:23

la is he sitting upright a lot in the day, or being held head up or angled upwards? If he is and it is silent reflux that may be why he's ok during the day. H used to scream when we tried to out her flat all the time though. Ranitidine is the next step for it after gaviscon and it was like magic for us, it just lowers the amount of acid made so it doesn't hurt them when it comes up. Hope you find out what's wrong with him, poor B

LaLaLaaaa · 23/08/2015 09:37

I have the sleepyhead angled upwards and he sleeps much better in it - 4 hours the other day. When I put him down in snuzpod sleepy he wriggles about a lot first as if it's uncomfortable. He will then go to sleep only to wake less than an hour later in pain. He then wants feeding straight away - like ravenous, but then only feeds a short while. Could the mad feeding urge be due to acid making his throat sore?

I'll do some tummy massage and call GP in morning. I'm also going to get him checked for pain by the osteopath in case he is sore following birth.

God I really didn't realise how utterly frustrating and upsetting it is to have something wrong with baby you can't take away and have to just let them deal with :(

Snuzpod mattress is quite firm compared to sleepyhead

OP posts:
RPopz · 23/08/2015 10:44

Can you angle the snuzpod? It is horrible to see them in pain Sad Poor mite. Hugs xxx

minimooo · 23/08/2015 11:16

It is really horrible la. Poor B Sad

Can you put sleepyhead in the snuzpod? Not a longterm solution I know, but it might help for the next week or so while you're negotiating doctors. I don't have any experience with snuzpod, so don't know if that would work?

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 23/08/2015 14:25

Pis some people will pay good money for that kind of club toilet experience.

Wil if the White is more flattering you might feel more confident in it? Could you get some contrast going with really dark eyes and some bright jewellery?

La yes, refluxing babies sometimes overfeed as it soothes the soreness. Might be worth keeping a diary for a couple if days so you can take a really clear picture if what's happening to the GP. I saw a GP who happened to be not long back from mat leave so seemed quite tuned in to baby-related issues.

Fleur, I saw a (fantastic) lactation consultant who advised me to only ever apply pressure with Palm of hands, never thumbs or fingers, when massaging lumpy areas to avoid bruising the breast tissue.

Fleurchamp · 23/08/2015 14:41

I have mastitis Sad so bloody sore and a fever of 39 Sad

I just want to sleep but I need to feed S on the sore boob - wince - I don't think I can carry on BFing .... I am over it -nothing but bloody problems.

LaLaLaaaa · 23/08/2015 15:02

Oh Fleur honey I'm so sorry you're having such a bloody miserable time :(

When you decide to stop bf is entirely your decision and you must do what feels right for you and S. Have you been to doctor? I hope someone is taking care of you and helping with S.

Mini the sleepyhead does fit in snuzpod but i wasn't sure if it's safe for sleeping overnight? I thought I saw something saying they've not been tested and approved by lullaby trust? That would sort it if I can! He's just gone down to sleep in sleepyhead for 2 hours! I've got it raised up slightly. I'm going to put towel under snuzpod mattress to raise it and make it softer, plus we've raised while thing at one end with a book. We just got back from lunch with pil. Just before we were due to leave for lunch I had fed, burped and changed B and we were snoozing on couch when he suddenly projectile vommed all down me! Had to quickly change me and him to go out. Couch reeks of baby sick! Ugh. Grin

I'll call GP tomorrow and ask for gaviscon prescription as she saw him on Friday and said that would be next step if he wasn't any better.

Cymraes17 · 23/08/2015 15:05

Fleur mastitis is horrible, had it with DD2, and got told off by HV for sorting it out without help. Think I took paracetamol, fed baby on that side first at every feed But you need to be careful in case it turns in to abscess.

Fleurchamp · 23/08/2015 15:07

S sleeps in his sleepyhead overnight Confused

Yep. - went to the ooh dr and have antibiotics. I also have a fever Sad DH is doing everything for S bar feeding. There is no way I could look after him today x

Cymraes17 · 23/08/2015 15:26

Ive just been out on my own for the first time in yonks. Only to do food shop though, but very strange. It was pouring with rain, so I whent in my yellow wellies, got some strange looks, but hey ho.

Will, id go for white if it is the most flattering. But Im sure that anything you chose will look good.
La, Im afraid that I really can't help you. I have no experience with colic or reflux. I feel for you and baby B, sounds like youre having a tough time of it. All DC enjoyed massage in the cym house, does help with moving things along and creating huge poonamis! Plus its a nice thing to do and help with bonding. I sometimes do it on DCs now if they ask fo it!

WilHarlot · 23/08/2015 16:06

Yeah pretty sure sleepyheads are fine overnight, my friend has one. Think it's poddlepods which aren't.

Thanks I went with the white just because it was more summery. Then a gust of wind came and revealed my pants to everyone so that was nice... Shock .

Sorry about your boob Fleur, mine isnt draining great again. Am going to try for a big long feed once we get home. Don't struggle on with bfing if you feel done with it - we're here to support you whichever way you choose.

RPopz · 23/08/2015 17:23

La - my friend's baby still sleeps in the sleepyhead in a snuzpod at 7mo old! (She's a dainty girl, not like my gigantababy - she also has reflux)

Aw fleur Sad Glad MrFleur is stepping up at least! Hope you feel better soon. Please don't make any rash decisions re bfing - I've seen first hand from my baby groups and antenatal gang how emotional it can be once you're done. I know women who gave up in the early weeks and still grieve over it now. Not saying you'll do it on a whim of course! Naturally its your choice and we'll support you whatever.

LaLaLaaaa · 23/08/2015 17:35

Ooh so sleepyhead overnight is an option!

That might fix things

Fleur sending you hugs

Wil at least they'll remember you! ;)

I love yellow wellies cym!

OP posts:
ZylaB · 23/08/2015 18:16

fleur and wil I hope the boobs get better!

la H was on the boob loads because of sore throat from the acid, so it can be a symptom.

wil you didn't 'reveal your pants' you did a 'Marilyn Monroe!' Grin

Minion · 23/08/2015 18:52

I'd love a Marilyn moment. Sadly I'd reveal my giant period pants and the subsequent mattress in it.
Wtaf is it so heavy? I swear I'm losing more than I did when I had the cs.
I'd tell you more about last night but you've heard it all before. 2 hours awake blah blah blah.
I just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel

RPopz · 23/08/2015 18:56

Minipopz is asleep. I've no idea if this is naptime or bedtime. Fucksticks.

ZylaB · 23/08/2015 19:20

Aww min big hugs. I don't know what to suggest, sorry :(

H cut her first tooth today, please tell me this doesn't mean she will automatically start biting my nipple?

ZylaB · 23/08/2015 19:25

Oh arse, does this mean I have to start cleaning her teeth? How the hell do I do that? We have a toothbrush and toothpaste the HV gave us, but no clue lol

WilHarlot · 23/08/2015 19:31

I'd love to tell you that Zyla but... Grin Nah she'll probably wait until she has some on the top and bottom to have a proper chomp Wink .

Hope it's bedtime Popz. We're still wide awake here after a long sleep in the car.

After all my stressing about Micro, she has been up on her knees and even feet and hands today and is happy as a pig in shit now she can get in amongst the Duplo.

Haha Marilyn I definitely ain't!
