New thread! Roll call...

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Minion · 21/08/2015 17:08

R has been able to sit unaided since 5.5 months but is very against rolling. As soon as she's on her tummy she balances on it and wails. She also wimps out of reaching for stuff to get on all 4s.
But she managed to do downward facing dog and scoots backwards.
She can pull herself up and stand for ages so everyone thinks she may skip crawling altogether.
She's concentrating so much on physical that verbal is getting left behind a bit.

Minion · 21/08/2015 17:30

Scratch that, she's just gone on all 4s from sitting.
Fell flat on her face tho. Don't think she'll try again so soon

teejayem · 21/08/2015 17:30

Happy birthday cym and dulce!

Does anyone else think the Snuzpod mattresses are a bit too thin and thus make the sleeping surface a bit hard? TT is still not really sleeping in his, but when I out him down in his proper citation while I did a wee earlier he slept in it for over an hour. Which is unheard of!!

teejayem · 21/08/2015 17:31

Citation = cotbed

What the fuck

Minion · 21/08/2015 18:24

Oops! Happy birthday dulcet and cym, hope you've both been spoilt rotten xx

LaLaLaaaa · 21/08/2015 18:47

Ooh happy birthday cym! Glad to hear you're doing well!

Tee - I've got various issues with the snuzpod. The gold down side sags! It is nearly sagging to point of caving in. I can't out pole back in because DS is too heavy to lift over side when I'm sitting in bed.

Hope you've had a lovely day pixie!

Really interested in the success of the cranial osteopath! I wonder whether B has some after effects from forceps. Would be interesting to see what they think

So GP had to phone hospital paediatrician to ask about B. She wondered whether he needed a review follow up from his infection. No says the over the phone paediatrician - it's colic. So I've been prescribed baby massage, tummy time and leg bicycling. GP asked paediatrician about over counter medicines and I could almost hear the doctor at other end bring quite scathing about infacol and the like. I might try gripe water though when he's s month old.

So now I just have to make sure I've winded him properly. Sometimes it's such a shame because he'll fall asleep on me at end of feed and I then have to ruin it by sitting him up to wind him. Bit miserable that I've got no outcome and just have to do my best to help him be comfortable. You'd think with all the medical advances they could find a solution. He's been mostly ok today so perhaps it's working? I've Sibelius of no nappy time with him today coz he's got a sore bum from the diarrhoea. Poor monkey.

Got pil coming from Scotland tomorrow (fil and step mil). They are lovely so I'm looking forward to it. Very tired, going to go to bed early.

I wish I had family closer or some help at least. I really want to enjoy these newborn times but I'm so exhausted I just find myself wishing them away for when it gets easier

OP posts:
LaLaLaaaa · 21/08/2015 18:48

Popz I'd love to put him to sleep on stomach but I'm too scared! He's been asleep for an hour and half just now though and no straining so I'm hoping all the winding is helping.

OP posts:
LaLaLaaaa · 21/08/2015 18:49

Who's Sibelius? That was meant to be I've done! Stoopid phone.

It's unnerving when they sleep well isn't it!? Grin

OP posts:
WilHarlot · 21/08/2015 19:18

Damn touchscreen, lost my message.

Hope it all works La and it's not just your paed being a lazy shit.

Thanks all, think I'm just going to be paranoid until she gets her year check. She actually was slithering backwards earlier and trying to do hands and feet so maybe she'll get there soon. She can't really sit up either but she is quite 'chatty' so she could be a talker not a walker. She wouldn't eat her dinner tonight so betting we have a busy night.

LaLaLaaaa · 21/08/2015 19:57

MiniLa is still asleep. He went to sleep at 4. This is unheard of for daytime!

Debating whether to wake him - he needs feed and bath...

Really hoping this is a sign his tummy is feeling better!

OP posts:
RPopz · 21/08/2015 20:13

Noooo don't wake him! I think he's old enough to wake when he's hungry now. A big sleep might do him good Smile

I know what you mean about wishing the new born times away. We don't have family close by either. I thought about giving up breastfeeding because I thought it'd make me appreciate the newborn times more. I'm glad I didn't though.

Happy birthday cym! Long time no hear Smile

Minipopz sucked some water out of a sippy cup earlier!! Actual drinking! This presents a whole new world of opportunity... I'm ok to give him milk out of it aren't I? He's never taken to a bottle but if I can get him to drink milk from a cup I'd be able to leave him for more extended periods....

RPopz · 21/08/2015 20:15

Made the mistake of introducing said cup in the middle of teatime though. Apparently that thing is like baby crack.... Zero interest in the rest of his food, blood curdling screams if I tried to put the damn thing away..... Hmm

ZylaB · 21/08/2015 20:19

wil it's definately different for them all at this age. Like I said, H can pretty much sit but has only just started on even thinking about crawling, but one of her friends is doing proper push-ups and nearly crawling, sort of going backwards, while another just happily lies there. They're all different and working in things in their own order. :)

ZylaB · 21/08/2015 20:21

Lol popz!! H likes her sippy cup too with water in it when she's eating. I think she just likes getting as wet as possible though!

la fx B is feeling a bit better

ZylaB · 21/08/2015 20:22

Oh and yes to milk from the cup popz, that's a really good move!

RPopz · 21/08/2015 20:28

This does mean getting the pump out again though.... waaah.

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 21/08/2015 21:22

Happy Birthday Dulcet and Cym, spring chickens!

Fleur, so pleased S seems happier after the cranial osteopath session. What did they actually do with him? Glad your back's better too, lugging these lumps around is agony after a while.

La sorry you didn't get any clear answers but hope the extra winding helps. The temptation to leave them sleeping is almost overwhelming but I guess the payback of wind later on isn't worth it.

Sorry to all those with rubbish DPs. Is it really do hard for them to empathise? Definitely leave them with the babes for a day at the first opportunity - or how about a few weeks of shared parental leave?

My DP is going to the cricket tomorrow, leaving me on my own with the boys in the heatwave, gah. The last time he went to the Ashes, P came down with a tummy bug on the day. DP came home pissed as a fart. P vomited (on me) 7 times throughout the night, including a spectacular spew into the cutlery drawer. DP 'helped' by dabbing at pools of sick with a bit of kitchen roll, closing said drawer with vomit still in it (I found it the next morning) and putting a poo-filled disposable nappy in the washing machine. He then rounded things off by barfing all over the bathroom himself at 5am. Cruel and unusual punishment will await him if there is anything close to a repeat performance tomorrow.

RPopz · 21/08/2015 21:41

Lol @ cruel and unusual punishment snap Smile I hope its not required in any case.

So we are paying for the earlier epic nap now.... or rather Mr P is. I'm certain he doesn't want milk. What is the deal with babies!? If I laid in bed with my pajamas on and my eyes closed yelling about how tired I was 3 hours every night I'd be committed to the nearest loony bin. Hmm

minimooo · 21/08/2015 23:01

Happy birthday cym and dulcet!

Glad S is feeling a bit better after the cranial osteopath fleur. I'm another who would like to know what they did. I'm attempting to researching it at the moment for E.

Glad B is having a good sleep la. Hope he's feeling better and has a good night's sleep for you.

I can't remember who asked (dulcet?) But we're going to the Elveden Forest Centreparcs. Elveden has a good pool, Longleat has really nice grounds, but Woburn has the best spa! It's massive! Centreparcs is awesome, especially for kids, but it is a bit expensive.

E just went from fast asleep to screaming the house down, downed 6oz in 10mins flat and passed out again! Blimey, must have been hungry I guess! Hmm

boobubsmum · 22/08/2015 00:31

Happy birthday cym and dulcet

E is 5 months and she's sort of tummy wiggling, no where near the coordination for crawling but occasionally pushes herself up on her arms.

Mr boo has been off most of the week with a migraine so I've had 3 babies to contend with, he was back at work today though and I was ready to chuck A out in the garden and lock the door when one of my friends came over unannounced whilst I was slumming it in 2 sizes too big pj's and my boobs all but hanging out thank god it's the weekend...

I'm meant to be going to slimming world in the city tomorrow but I think I might actually set up camp
In bed and refuse to move, I can deal with the boob fiend but A's speech has if anything regressed and we still haven't had the salt referral through and in a display of shit parenting I just want to shout at her every time she tries to communicate with me at the moment. She spent 40 minutes pointing at her bum and making pig noises earlier, she ended up I. This endless snorting, crying loop until I roared at her to put her knickers on and stop snorting :s I still have no idea what she was making the noise for...

Mum has offered to take both the girls for an entire weekend next month. Assuming E doesn't choose to starve in a 'give me boobies' protest!

boobubsmum · 22/08/2015 00:46

Oh crap, it's boo / Luna btw

DulcetMoans · 22/08/2015 02:20

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I still need to tell DH what I want, any inspiration?

These oeastopaths sound like magicians! Any change over night fleur?

What would you do with an entire weekend free boo? Any plans?

It was me asking about centreparcs mini. We are near longleat and lots of friends go there but not tried yet. Maybe soon!

Good luck on your own tomorrow snap, do you have plans to keep them occupied?

Hope mrP got babyP back off popz!

Feeding the sweatiest baby! We are both so wet now! Yuck!

LaLaLaaaa · 22/08/2015 05:50

Shit night here. 10, 12, 2:30, 4, 5. Fine on my lap but pulls legs up and screams as soon as I put him back in crib.

OP posts:
minimooo · 22/08/2015 08:09

Crappy night here too. She was a nightmare to put down last night, then up at 10pm. Then at 2am she was awake for day ffs! Took me till 4am to get her to go back to sleep. Then up at 7am and just managed to persuade her to go back down again now.

Longleat Centreparcs is lovely dulcet. It's quite hilly (but only to be expected in that part of the country I spose!) Lots of wildlife - we saw deer and badgers there which was cool.

Ffs! She's awake again. Oh my god I need sleep! I'm just going to lie in bed really still and pretend I'm asleep. That'll work right?

Minion · 22/08/2015 08:55

Shit city here too. Not so bad til 4, then hours of crying, whinging and down right arsyness.
Fuck sake
She's never going to get better and im never going to taste the sweet sweet nectar of more than 4 hours of sleep am I!
