Well I'm fully expecting Micro to be up shortly BUT it's not been as bad as usual so far. I was so tired at bedtime that I lay down to feed her. Don't know why but she seems to have gone off to sleep better because of this and hasn't woken yet. So maybe try changing the way you do something Popz?

I'm annoyed with MrPopz. That was mean of him about the night out. Unfollow all the fuckers on fb for a fortnight until they stop going on about it.

JuniDD · 16/08/2015 21:04

Evening all. I've read back a little bit. Sorry about shit men and crap nights. MrJ is in my good books as he's building a TV cabinet and actually helped me a lot this weekend. Score.

Babyj is crawling loads, pulling up on stuff and eating, alleluia! Not much news, really.

LaLaLaaaa · 16/08/2015 21:12

Damn I wrote a post to all of you then it got lost.

I'll re-write later. In meantime - can I just check something? We're about to try to give B a bottle of expressed milk for his 10pm feed. My boobs feel a bit full though. Should I be expressing as well at this point, or is it ok to just hang on to the 1am feed? I'm concerned this is going to affect supply and/or cause problems with engorgement/mastitis. The whole point was I was meant to be going to bed early, so to have to sit and express now completely defeats the object. Confused.com.

WilHarlot · 16/08/2015 21:17

At this stage I might be tempted to do a little five minute express if you think you'll be too sore by 1am. You'll just wake up otherwise. If you do a bottle every day at this time and don-t express it will affect your supply. A one off shouldn't do too much harm.

RPopz · 16/08/2015 21:17

When did you last feed? 4 hours seems like quite a while to go if you're feeling full already. Maybe just hand express a bit off for comfort. If you're planning on regularly missing this feed then your supply should even out to accommodate I think? Its too early to affect your supply I'd say.

RPopz · 16/08/2015 21:18

Haha, cross post wil Smile

RPopz · 16/08/2015 21:20

I always lay in bed with Mini to feed him to sleep... Maybe I'll get him up mega early tomorrow!

Minion · 16/08/2015 21:51

Teeth coming thru popz? MINIon would do this when the first lot came thru.
A healthy dose of calpol alternating with infant neurofen and multiple dummy replacement handled that fir us.
Or
Hrs going through leap 6 which side from the fact she wants more cuddles and to actually want me, is a Bitch of a leap and I can't wait for it to end.

WilHarlot · 17/08/2015 00:38

Hmm well I seem only to have succeeded in moving the endless waking up to the middle of the night instead of the start. Infinitely more annoying. Sick of this shit.

Minion · 17/08/2015 07:01

Me too wil
Is fucking relentless.
Night time wasn't too bad. Only! 4 get ups, but fuck me, this morning had been horrendous.
I'm at a loss what to do.

And I don't want to be ' that ' person but I for cannot wait till perfect fb baby hits the skids.

WilHarlot · 17/08/2015 07:17

I ended up letting her sleep with me to get a few hours. Toddler thankfully not up until 6. MrWil just woken baby by being loud. Why is this my life?

DulcetMoans · 17/08/2015 08:12

Early start here too, think I have a constipated baby. We gave him a formula feed as I can't express enough and he's not poo'd properly since. Feel awful, he's straining and uncomfortable and crying.

Bad mum.

WilHarlot · 17/08/2015 08:21

You're not a bad mum, it'll just take him a bit to get used to it maybe. No long term damage done. I actually think Micro is a bit constipated as she keeps doing rabbit dropping poos. All she eats is fruit, veg and porridge so I'm not really sure why Confused .

WilHarlot · 17/08/2015 08:22

Has the feeding sorted itself out or are you still having bother?

LaLaLaaaa · 17/08/2015 08:50

Quite normal for babies to poo less on formula, I think?

But have you tried bicycling legs etc?

We've been up all night with sore baby - tummy pain

OP posts:
DulcetMoans · 17/08/2015 08:51

He still feeds a lot but getting used to it. He's better if we are out and busy as he sleeps more!

Just never know what to do for the best! Trying to find time pump and build up supply is hard when he feeds all the time and tried two evenings on formula to give me time and he's stopped pooing!

Do you do anything to help micro?

Fleurchamp · 17/08/2015 09:05

Morning viroids

We have just had the best night ever!! S went down at 9.30pm (this took two hours of picking up and putting down), woke at 12.30, fed for 45 mins, 4.30 fed for 50 mins (then took an hour to go back down) and then slept until 8.30!!! He never normally sleeps after 4.30/5am. Score! I am sure it will be a one-off.

However, I also have a constipated baby. I am blaming the gaviscon - he has always been a regular pooer 8-10 times per day but has not been since Saturday night now Confused

Plenty of very wet nappies and a change of pjs for me in the night Angry

Apart from that the gaviscon has made a difference - he still cries but it is not the blood curling cry of pain and we can settle him with a cuddle, dummy and some rocking. He just seems a happier baby - not sure that will last if he doesn't poo soon.

I am going to carry on trying to express today. I have the grand total of 35ml in my freezer which is lousy!

RPopz · 17/08/2015 09:17

Hooray for sleep Fleur! Glad the gaviscon is helping. Think constipation is pretty common with it.

That's the trouble I had with expressing Dulcet - no time!! Not sure what the advice is for combo fed babies with constipation? They say give cooled boiled water for ff. Try warm bath, tummy massage, pump the legs etc.

Minion · 17/08/2015 09:29

Hold the phone...
BF babies poo how much?
8-10 times? A day?
How in gods name do you get anything done in between feeding, changing and sleeping?

I bow down to you bfers!

R is having her nap, I thought I'd use my possible 45 mins wisely and do some chores....
Put it this way, the washing is still in the hamper, the bottles are unsterilised and I'm in bed mning. I'm dressed though, so that's something.

Just been reading about other 8 month olds sleep shit. Turns out were all going through it.
Doesn't make it better. But knowing that some others see every hour makes me feel a little more gleeful.

2 mins to find out if she's gonna make it past 45...

minimooo · 17/08/2015 09:32

Glad you got some sleep fleur and that S is starting to feel better on the gaviscon.

dulcet, what popz says ^^ Which formula are you using? Aptamil seems to get good reviews for being most similar to breastmilk. E has horrible colic and was getting constipated on the Aptamil "first milk" so we switched her to Aptamil Comfort milk which is specifically for colic and constipation. It's worked a treat for the constipation and she regularly goes once a day. Don't worry if his poos go a little bit green too, formula does that to them.

For constipation generally, I've heard baby massage really helps them to go. I'm still waiting to go on a course so can't advise, but there's probably YouTube videos that show how to do it.

Sorry for the crap sleep popz, wil and min! It's awful trying to function on next to no sleep. E was up every 2 hours last night. This sleep regression can fuck right off!

E rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time yesterday! So proud!

RPopz · 17/08/2015 09:42

Aw well done E!

They're only that poopy to begin with Min Grin ... MiniP has been on one poo a day for a whole now.

We used aptamil but apparently it's a bit of a scam - they're all basically the same formulation.

My "period pains" are back AGAIN Sad I would poas but I think we've only done 4 times since mini was born and with so much lube it'd be like swimming through treacle for the poor guys. Definitely don't feel pg. Hurry up AF! Angry

RPopz · 17/08/2015 09:43

*while

WilHarlot · 17/08/2015 09:47

Aw that's nice Mini.

Bfed babies usually poo a lot at the start but then actually it's really common for them to not poo much. Because there isn't much waste in breastmilk. It could be Fleur that S was pooing so much because of the dairy. However yes, gaviscon causes constipation and if you think he's uncomfy, chat to HV.

I am thinking of giving her more water Dulcet but only because we're at weaning stage. But yes try massage, cycling legs, warm bath.

WilHarlot · 17/08/2015 09:48

Don't wish your AF here, are you crazy?! Single biggest advantage of bfing. Maybe it's something else?

RPopz · 17/08/2015 09:52

Only wishing it here to be over and done with! Wink
