Fleurchamp · 30/07/2015 12:23

I am surprisingly finding myself not hating the BFing. I was not convinced before giving birth that it would be for me but a) I am lazy so sticking him on the boob is far easier than messing around with bottles and b) I enjoy the me and him time Grin

Another one here who is practically a Virgin. When is it normal to start thinking about attempting marital relations? Not sure my patchwork foof is up to anything yet.

Friends and relatives are already asking when will we be having #2 Shock he is 2 weeks old FFS!

RPopz · 30/07/2015 15:17

Shock juni - I didn't read your post properly!! Tell the brother to jog on. Angry Angry

I love bf now Smile Mini P isn't very snuggly nowadays so it's my chance for cuddles. Took a while to get here though, and it still grates sometimes that I'm the only one who can get him to sleep.

Think you have to wait 6 weeks fleur? But just whenever you feel like it really! We've only managed twice since mini was born... Oops.

WilHarlot · 30/07/2015 16:17

You don't have to wait but might be a good idea if you have stitches. Just whenever you want to really never.

Aww both my girls are quite cuddly. I'll cry when they don't want to cuddle me anymore.

Will MrJ lend the money Juni?

I roll baby onto their side Dulcet but that's maybe hard with a tiny one. Maybe at the start I laid her flat. Then just lie flat on my side with two pillows to make me high enough. It was the only way I could feed Mini in the bed for a while as it was too sore to sit up.

WilHarlot · 30/07/2015 16:18

Oh, did you pick a name yet?

JuniDD · 30/07/2015 18:22

Not a lot of jsing going on here. When I get some time to myself I am spending it alone! I think I am quite nunnish compared to most of you though.

MrJ will give him the money (the tab is currently already in the four figure arena). He's a fucking mug. But hey, his brother looked out for him in the playground so how can he say no? Boils my piss, it really does.

Baby is napping...another late bedtime here then. Give me strength!

OP posts:
DulcetMoans · 30/07/2015 20:23

We did! He's called Joshua wil. Do you mean you used pillows for the baby? Wouldn't I be too high if I was on the pillows?

I can't believe you are even thinking about sex fleur. I'm almost impressed, and slightly scared on your behalf!

That's so annoying of your BIL juni, and of MrJ actually. Why does he think that is even reasonable to ask??

Two hours is good popz, I am alright with that. But seems to really only manage that once and then I spend another two hours trying to get him to be asleep enough to out back down. I did get the dummy in for about 20mins earlier! Stayed awake though, I want him to use it to go back to sleeps I some work to do.

I bought a little bottle of aptimil today. I was weak. I haven't really got a plan to use it but I just wanted the option. Obviously now it's here it might be too easy. Trying not to crack but to make matters worse he has fucked one of my nipples - made a hold that's pissing milk. Hurts!

RPopz · 30/07/2015 20:32

Christ Dulce - that sounds sore! Shock Any news on getting his tongue tie snipped? Its not weak, its a plan to get by. We did the same. Sometimes it helps just knowing it's there. I've still got a couple of bottles stashed, just in case.

4 figures Juni !? I'd be fucking raging.

WilHarlot · 30/07/2015 20:41

Dulcet it's not weak and you haven't 'failed' at bfing if you give him a bottle of formula. It's a perfectly acceptable food source. If you had a bottle of lucozade sport stashed in the cupboard 'just in case' I'd be having words with you Wink .

Fabulous name. Smile

No, pillows for me. I find I need to be slightly raised for my boob to be in the right place. That could well just be me though - I'm pretty short. I'd take a 'brelfie' for you but noone needs to see that - even the fact I've just typed that word has made me a little bit sick in my mouth.

Fleurchamp · 30/07/2015 20:44

Crikey juni I wouldn't be happy either never lend money to family

Yeesh dulcet an actual hole?

I also have a carton of formula, I took it into hospital with me just in case I couldn't feed. I like having it as back up. One carton of formula is not going to do any harm.

I don't want to speak too soon but it looks like S has gone down in his cot which is about 2.5hrs earlier than normal and without all the screaming. It's clearly going to go downhill from here....

Not sure whether to go to bed myself to maximise sleep Confused

DulcetMoans · 30/07/2015 21:09

It's hard to explain, the breastfeeding clinic lady noticed it actually as it's at the bottom. It's like he's worn a hole into it with his gum or something. Apparently it leaks milk but I can't see that.

His tongue tie is done popz, it was 80% in the end. Not so mild.

Pillows for boobs wil, makes more sense! That was one of the problems actually, saggy boobs!

I never quite know whether to sleep at this tone either fleur as it's nice to have evening with DH, but sleep probably do you better!

cookielove · 30/07/2015 21:16

Hello hello hello :)

E treated us to a lie in this morning, 7 am ShockGrin

I took E to a water babies class so right from the get go had to do everything by myself, I always had my cossie on when we left the house! Then change him on a towel on the floor! I find it harder to go now as he just crawls off and won't stay still grrrr!! So def take them when they are young!

dulcet love the name! I agree with others about the formula it is best to be prepared incase you do need it!

juni geez I completely agree with you re. lending money grrrrr on your behalf!

WilHarlot · 30/07/2015 21:26

I am shit at explaining myself. No, pillows for my head/shoulder as normal but really just an extra one to prop me up a bit. I'll shut up, I doubt it's important!

I have been going to bed at this time for six months. Wouldn't even contemplate staying up. Get to sleep ladies!

Good news the tongue tie is sorted. Are you finding it any easier?

teejayem · 30/07/2015 21:29

Marital relations resumed at 6 weeks here fleur although we have only done it once, it wasn't too bad. Just a bit uncomfy to start with. In the interim Mr tee either had lonely shower wank or I threw him the occasional mercy blowjob. We were very, ahem, active before (and during before my pelvis and back decided to detach themselves from normality) pregnancy so the prospect of six weeks without seemed awful. The issue we have now is TT ing be left to sleep unless one of us pulls a ninja cot putting down move, and I'm not quite in the place where I'm happy with a quickie in the kitchen. I want Barry White and candles, dammnit.
From a practical perspective, my arts and crafts healed a lot faster when I used neat tea tree on the scarring after about 3/4 weeks. It doesn't hurt. Just..tingled.

TT has conjunctivitis, and the thing on his arm is still an unknown, but I've got eye drops and a cream to fix both. Eye drop administration on a fucked off baby with a crusty eye is a hoot Hmm

If I BF on my side I have to feed with the boob furthest from the bed. The one nearest just ends up in the wrong position. I invariably piss milk when I do this, so it's a trade between sleep and a soggy sheet. We had another cruddy night last night, but all managed a nap around lunchtime. I treated myself to a glass of pinot and I feel dreadful, so trying to counter it with gallons of water.

WilHarlot · 30/07/2015 21:40

Poor TT, hope it clears up quickly.

That's funny because I have to do the boob nearest the bed. I lay a muslin under her head to catch leakage. There must be many varieties of positioning!

RPopz · 30/07/2015 21:40

Get to bed Fleur!! I used to go to bed at tea time for an hour, in anticipation of long nights...

Glad the tt is sorted Dulcet - hope it makes things a bit less sore now.

I think feeding laying down with newborns you have to lay up a bit and dangle your boob in their mouth - so they can still lay on their back. Is that what you mean wil?

RPopz · 30/07/2015 21:41

Now we both lay on our side and I use boob nearest the bed. He spoons into me

JuniDD · 30/07/2015 22:49

Same as popz here but she had neck control before we figured it out.

I went to a sling library and for chatting to a woman. Did the whole "how old is your baby?" thing, so I said nine months. And yes, she is small. Them the woman was all like "She's not that small, she's not small at all" so I am going to try the reverse psychology thing again and see what happens.

New mamas, always sleep when you can! They will always trick you when you expect two hours they will do four so get those heads down.

OP posts:
Nessalina · 30/07/2015 22:57

I was never much good at feeding lying down, always wrecked my back! I was a big fan of the rugby hold in the early days with J on a big pillow tucked under my arm all cosy - he'd always have a mega snooze around lunchtime after a rugby feed, and I'd be delightfully trapped and watch lots of Greys Anatomy! Grin
My main advice for the early days is SLEEP. Seriously, whenever you're not feeding, and they're asleep, or your OH can take them, don't muck about, just go straight to bed for as long as your baby will let you! Actually talking to your OH is overrated in comparison to beautiful, blissful sleep. Sleep when the baby sleeps sounds trite, but it worked for me. I only ever got 2hrs on the trot, but I got it regularly!

Nessalina · 30/07/2015 23:00

X-post Juni! Great minds think alike fools seldom differ on the sleep I see Grin
Tell your BIL to do one Hmm Will your DH talk to you about it, or just hand over the cash??

I'm off on a spa break tomorrow! First time away from James overnight Shock
Three whole nights of no baby!!

teejayem · 30/07/2015 23:06

Major spoon envy popz . Mine always looks as though I'm about to squash him with my tits and tries to wriggle away.

LaLaLaaaa · 30/07/2015 23:44

tentative....hello?

I thought I'd dip toe in.

Currently bf my little squidge massive chubster of a child in the hospital. I'm off my face on painkillers and tiredness as I've slept around 5 hours since DS was born.

Many questions but right now anything involving coordination is impossible so I can't use phone long. Going to sleep tonight and try to post story tomorrow

DulcetMoans · 31/07/2015 01:19

Evening la, wondered when you would find your way over. Get as much sleep as you can in the hospital and use MW help all you can before you go! Shit gets even more real once you're home.

Spa sounds great nessa! Are you more nervous or excited?? Really need to take your sleep advise, and juni, I usually find a reason not to and sure it doesn't help. On my own next week might not be so easy though - if he lets me put him down then I will too!

I get you now wil, sorry. Good to get the ideas as I thought I might suffocate him with massive tit.

Hope you get another lay in cookie!

teejayem · 31/07/2015 02:55

Just inadvertently baptised TT with the best part of a litre of water. Serves me right for trying to to reach stuff on my bfing side half asleep.

It is waitrose water, so maybe this will make him a slightly more upmarket human than us ragamuffins...?

Fleurchamp · 31/07/2015 06:23

Lol tee

I any even begin to fathom how I would BF lying down, I have looked in to co-sleeping but I have decided against it as we only have a standard double bed, a tempur mattress and use a duvet. I am tempted to bring S into bed with me in the mornings in his sleepyhead though.

Good to see you la it took me ages to get myself organised enough to post over here! I hope you are recovering well Flowers

I have a very awake baby - it is going to be a looong day.

ZylaB · 31/07/2015 06:57

tee lol!

dulcet lovely name!

I still feed H rugby ball style at home, I find it snuggly and also use it as an excuse to stay comfy when she goes to sleep because she's a nap dodger at the moment! Only managed to feed her lying down once or twice. When she was little my boob looked like it was going to smother her!

Welcome la hope things are going ok.

H is up 2 or 3 times a night every night at the moment, I dunno why and I want my 9 and a half hours baby back please! MrZ was away last night too so I'm off to my mum's all day for some company. I'm going to make him look after her and just bring her for feeds tomorrow morning so I can stay in bed!
