Grin Tee. I bet that got some screams!

Yeah you do need space to do it lying down Fleur.

Why can't I get back to sleep after 5am feed? So frustrating as I'm losing an hour and a half's kip every night.

Hi La! God sounds like you've had a horrific time. Don't worry about birth story - we'll find out eventually. Hope you're doing ok. Welcome to the other side finally! Smile

Nessalina · 31/07/2015 07:00

Ha! Poor TT Grin And poor you - what a waste of posh water!!

Hey La! Welcome to the other dark side of MN Grin Hope things are going ok, glad to hear BFing is happening, looking forward to hearing the whole tale when you can be arsed! Smile

J must know I'm about to bugger off and leave him - up screaming at 2am! He's not usually unsettled at night, we have to go in to put the dummy back in maybe two or three times, but otherwise he's a 7-7 boy these days (viroids - there is hope, they don't keep you awake forever!). I think he might be getting indigestion from the bottle guzzling Confused Anyway, he came in with us and soon dropped off with me & DH holding a hand each Grin
In other 'stopping breastfeeding news' my left tit has leaked all over the show in the night, and my right tit has a big sore patch Shock I swear to god if I get mastitis for my spa weekend I will go absolutely apeshit. Going to do some classy over the sink expressing. Do you think a GP would give me just-in-case antiBs??

minimooo · 31/07/2015 07:01

Haha tee! Grin

Sounds wonderful ness! Have a great time.

Ouch, holey nipple sounds mega painful dulcet. Glad the tt is sorted though. Hopefully it will all start to feel a bit easier now. Love the name - one of my favourite boys names!

fleur same here with the cosleeping. I like the sound of it in principle but don't really have a safe and practical set up. Plus I think I'd have to boot dh out as he's a really heavy sleeper (plus he's still getting really bad nightmares where he thrashes about) and we don't have a spare room, so I'd feel a bit mean.

Hi la great to hear from you! Hope all is OK in the hospital. Like dulcet says, use those midwives and get as much sleep as you can. Any idea when they're letting you home? Xx

E had her injections yesterday. Poor little thing screamed the place down. She cried real tears and everything Sad So awful. I've spoken to a couple of the other mums at baby group and the nurse who did the injections yesterday and they've all said that E has quite an extreme reaction and that other babies don't generally mind the jabs. The nurse even said to prepare ourselves to have problems when she's older because she'll be a nightmare to inject (she jumps when the needle goes in and just screams and screams till she's purple) Shock
What are your babies like with the jabs? I thought all babies screamed with them, but not according to everyone I've spoken to so far!

WilHarlot · 31/07/2015 07:39

Oh my God Mini, people will say anything to try to make you shit your pants!! They are ridiculous comments, don't worry. My eldest wasn't overly bothered by injections - didn't cry at all the first time and did the others but not hysterically and calmed down easily. Doesn't mean anything about how she is now. Now she screams blue murder when you brush her hair.

Micro hates them and does the high-pitched purple screaming like E and after the first set, she screamed all night. Supsequent jags didn't have the screaming all night effect but she still hated them at the time. They're all just different..

Ness get rubbing the sore bit in the shower. Can you take a pump away with you?

WilHarlot · 31/07/2015 07:40

*subsequent

minimooo · 31/07/2015 08:13

Thanks wil, that makes me feel a bit better (poor babies though!) I was a bit worried about it - had visions of us having to pin her down for injections in a year's time!

ZylaB · 31/07/2015 08:14

H did he high pitched "omg the world is ending, why did you do THAT!??" Screaming and cried real tears mini. They're just trying to make you feel bad and make themselves forget about their babies crying! She was out of sorts for a couple of days with it each time, then ok. It's worth it and they do forget..,we had the same nurse each time and she smiled at her before the last lot, if she could remember it she'd have cried and hidden!

Nessalina · 31/07/2015 08:58

For the first set J screamed when the needle went in, more through shock than anything else I think! I remember at the time the best way to soothe him was to lie him on his back, like you were going to change him and play with his legs, so I did that on the bed in the nurses room, and the nurse looked at me like 'you mentalist, why aren't you hugging him' Hmm He chilled right out after a couple of minutes. Next set he cried for a good 20mins then fell asleep. They're all different, but you can't tell what a baby's going to be like in the future from one jab!!

FurryScoob · 31/07/2015 09:00

MiniS screamed the place down & we got let out the fire exit so she didn't upset people in reception after all 3 lots of jabs! I think crying is a normal reaction.

Enjoy your weekend ness

Great name dulcet

Hello la hope your not stuck on a postnatal ward much longer.

Hello everyone else, I can't remember what everyone's posted by the time I get chance to write anythingConfused

After a few days of being grumpy & not sleeping miniS cut 3 new teeth yesterday. Smile

minimooo · 31/07/2015 09:09

Oh god, my page didn't refresh before my post this morning and it sounds like I'm telling ness to have a good time with her sore boob over the sink! Sorry ness!! Hope it sorts itself out quickly. You could try the docs, they might do. Ime they wouldn't give me anti bs for mastitis symptoms until I had a temperature, but my Dr's are knobs. You might find that the sauna/steam room/jacuzzi experience might relieve it a bit anyway - all that damp heat is supposed to be good for relieving mastitis I think?

wil I'm having the exact same problem. Just cannot get back to sleep after the 5am feed. Not sure what's going on. At least we have mn to wile away the hours!

Thanks zyla, it's nice that she smiled at the nurse! At least they don't remember.

RPopz · 31/07/2015 09:34

Welcome La - hope you're not stuck in postnatal much longer. YY to making the most of having mws around though.

Catch up in a bit, got a growling overtired teether to contend with! Shock Angry

Nessalina · 31/07/2015 09:42

Ha! No worries mini, I saw it was an X-post! Grin
As you say, I reckon a spa is the best thing for 'em. Maybe I can get away with expressing in a quiet corner of the steam room?? I'm sure I'm just being paranoid, I'm bound to get some sore boobage with stopping so quick. When I had mastitis last time my boob started really hurting quite suddenly and within an hour I had cold sweats & felt like death, so it's a good sign that it's not escalating!
Not sure about a pump Wil... I have one, it'll do the trick but I'm worried about encouraging flow too much. So hard to know what's best Confused It's easy when you're still feeding them, you just pump & feed until they feel better!

RPopz · 31/07/2015 10:00

Maybe cos you've had mastitis before, the GP would give you a just in case prescription? Enjoy the spa! Am very Envy Envy

Grumpy grizzler is grouching and boob refusing.... and now I have to go to my Mum's.... he's gonna make me get my norks out on a train I know it!!! Angry

Pisghetti · 31/07/2015 12:24

Fuck you four month sleep regression Angry I clearly have a discus champion in the making here - she can get quite an impressive distance on her dummy at 4am.

In the early days I would feed BabyPis lying down by sort of cuddling her in slightly tilted with the lower boob. The upper boob would invariably soak her in milk... Now she cwtches into me on her side and helps herself and doesn't get leaked on anymore. Fleur we had her between us in the sleepyhead on top of the duvet sometimes but it is a kingsize bed.

Have a lovely time Ness both in the spa and over the sink Grin

Right I'm off to make another coffee Brew (and maybe catch some z's in the kitchen while I'm waiting for it)

WilHarlot · 31/07/2015 16:37

Oh I hate feeding on trains. Never enough space and you always end up opposite drunk teenage boys. Good luck with your mum..

Also very jealous of spa weekend. I think advice is to drop one feed a week when stopping, so you'd be ok pumping if necessary. Taking a bit longer to stop producing milk is better than mastitis I reckon.

Have come away for the night and forgotten the bouncer chair. Cannot put baby down Angry .

ZylaB · 31/07/2015 18:15

Poor wil use the floor so she can have a wriggle!

Ok I might be sleep deprived but I'm very proud. We had our first sign today :) :) I asked H if she wanted some milk and she did the milk sign back at me this morning, I got hugely excited and asked her again and she did it again! We haven't had it since but it was very deliberate and my mum saw it to so I'm claiming it, she's understood the sign for a while and done excited wriggles when I ask her and she's hungry so this was the next step. I suspect it'll be a while before she does any other signs like nappy, bed, bath, cat, mummy, daddy because there's nothing she likes more than her milk lol.

RPopz · 31/07/2015 18:45

Oooh where are you wil?

I escaped the train feed - phew! He still refused to bloody nap until we were practically outside my mum's front door though... Little douche. Mamapopz is in sweetness and light mode again at the moment so all is well there for now.

Wine or Brew Pis (whichever is currently required) - sleep regression is the pits! Esp as minipopz seems to have never gone back to pre sleep regression... Angry He would do a 5-6 hour stretch at one point but that seems a distant memory. Hope B's is short and sweet!

Hope all the new mama's are having a reasonable day - fleur, dulce, La? Brews and paracetamol all round! Smile

RPopz · 31/07/2015 18:46

Oooh zyla - that's amazing!! I didn't realise they could comprehend it so early on! Me and mini are signed up for a Sing and Sign course starting in September. I can't wait! Smile

PixieChops · 31/07/2015 19:00

Aww that's so cute Zyla!! I'm sure she'll sign more eventually (when she's not so enthralled with milk)

So I went to the doctor and I cried like a neurotic hysterical woman, the poor basted took one look at me and prescribed the milk I need and agreed that it's more an likely a milk intolerance. Also went to the osteopath yesterday and she did some voodoo weird shit magic on R as he's done 5 shits since yesterday and he was doing a poo every other day or not at all because he was constipated. She did say that he has a tightness in his neck and she needs to sort that out too at the next appointment. I'm inclined to agree with her because R holds his head in a funny position and won't turn it to the left. He also screams the place down if you touch the bottom of his neck on the left hand side. He's been so chilled out since with everything and is a completely different baby! It's amazing, we can actually enjoy him now. After sleeping for 1-2 hours in total a night he went from 10-2am and then 2:30-7am last night.
About to go and give him a bath and he's made me another present! Six shits!! Who'da thunk it!!

Minion · 31/07/2015 20:12

Hi girls¡
Just keeping up to date so I don't fall off Fred
I've read all but too much to remember so let's just say I agree with everything and everyone

.hope you're all doing good

WilHarlot · 31/07/2015 20:49

Hope you're having a good holiday Min.

God get me to an osteopath! I need a sleeping baby

Ha I do put her on the floor normally zyla but it's laminate and a bit dog hairy. She's also likely to get trampled on by other children.

WilHarlot · 31/07/2015 20:50

Oh also that's brilliant about the signing!

WilHarlot · 31/07/2015 20:50

Is it makaton?

PixieChops · 31/07/2015 21:27

The osteopath was only £35- worth every penny imo.
She's going to work on his neck next week and the cost drops to £30. I hope it's not going to carry on for weeks on end as I can't afford £30 every week ???? but it does seem to be helping him.

Fleurchamp · 31/07/2015 21:37

Wow, great result pixie

I have the number for an osteopath from a friend and will be calling tomorrow morning. S has a really strong neck - maybe that has something to do with it

Crying now since 6.15pm Sad so I guess we have another 2 hours to go.

DH is snowed under with work but I have had to ask him to take over for a bit. I am drowning my sorrows with ice cream.
