PinkTulips · 08/11/2006 16:03

lol eeny, i remember that too. if i hadn't been on for a day it took and hour to read through

snow, i've done that so often with caleb.... he's so quiet i have occasional moments of panic where i think he must still be in the hall at home and i frantically check the back seat for him.

calebs in a bit of a funny ood today, didn't want to get up this morning, tayed in bed til 12 feeding constantly and has been quite cranky since then. not sure whats up with him, maybe teething again? hate seeing him so miserable though, brings back so many memories of sarah and how she was at this age.

olivo · 08/11/2006 16:57

thanks eeny. tried her with it in a bottle earlier - she took a few gulps then spat it out when she realised it wasnt milk and refused to open her mouth! it says on the box you put it in the bottle with formula milk so i guess you can put it in ebm too. the problem there is that i only ever get a fe ounces at a time. think i may have to start formula a bit earlier than i wanted to.

isasmama · 08/11/2006 17:07

hey all!
i m new to mumsnet . joined a week baQ!
would like to interact wid mums wid babies of same age.. and since mine was born in august this is the perfect thread..i think
its been pretty good to read that every one else is going thru the same phase that i m...
DS is doing all three .. the best one being sleepin thru the nite...
but since he is sooo little he does get his timings messed up at times...he has no routine as such for the day...will sleep and feed wenever he wants!
i m mixed feedin him so give him a bottle of formula at night and i believe that helps him sleep atleast 5-6 hours at stretch at nite....
past week he has been dribbling a lot and has red cheeks...if i m not mistaken these are signs of teething???

p.s. sorrry i knw its long and a whole lot of blabbing abt how my baby is coming along...but i so wanna discuss him wid ppl going thru the same phase...i hope u ppl understanD!

eenybeeny · 08/11/2006 17:42

Olivo you would only need an ounce of EBM to mix the gaviscon with though, I dont think you will have to use formula. Although if you used an ounce of formula to administer the meds it wouldnt hurt anything. Alex is mixed fed, I try to just BF him sometimes he will not take my breast so I have to give him a bottle.

Well as of tonight but really tomorrow properly we are starting the Baby Whisperer routine... Alex has his days and nights mixed up totally so we are hoping that will help! Wish me luck!

Pink sorry Caleb is in a funny mood! I'm sure its a passing thing he is such an angel!

Alex is doing really well (besides the sleep thing!) I am enjoying him so much and just love him to bits!

isasmama - hi! I dont know about the signs of teething thing! How do his gums feel?

MrsChristmasboo · 08/11/2006 18:04

Oh eeny, good luck! God knows you deserve it....

Hi Isasmama and welcome!

eenysugarplumfairy · 08/11/2006 18:08

ooh love the name change! I've done one of my own...

YellowFeathers · 08/11/2006 19:47

Yo whassuuuuuppppppp
Am in a great mood today as I have successfully managed a shopping trip on my own, with the kids and not have a panic attack. I was so tempted not to go but I am so glad I have. Its given me a bit more confidence to do it again.

Oooh well, I've done the majority of my xmas shopping which is a big stress out of the way.
Ellis is doing well. He's suddenly decided that he likes a nap in the day now and wants bigger feeds! He occasionly wakes at 3am from 9pm but most of the time he sleeps through. He was an absolute dream on Saturday. We went to a firework display. DD screamed to go home so dh and his brother trotted off back and I stayed with Ellis fascinated in his sling!

Micku, my face is the same colour as my top now....green! Beautiful country and your dd is gorgeous. Such a pretty little girl.

Eeny, your sounding alot more brighter now. Enjoy your xmas shopping!

Welcome to isasmama. Congratulations on your little baby. We are all fruit loops so if you are too, you'll fit right in

Hello everyone else too!

olivo · 08/11/2006 20:31

well done yf - how is your cbt going?

welcome isasmama! [smmile]

I'm very impressed at the name changes - i cant remember my name half the time, never mind think up a new one!

YF - "fruit loops"? speak for yourself! - ok, maybe just a little bit!!

MrsChristmasboo · 08/11/2006 20:53

Well done Yellow!!!! A big step for you. Now i must get my act together and try some proper shopping with the boys.....

Am thinking of doing my pressie shopping but am i mad with two in tow??

Eeny, LURVE the new name. So are we too early to be getting festive? Dh seems to think so but he is a humbug. Mr Scrooge. Hehe....

Ds1 is refusing to sleep until daddy gets home, cried as he wants him, not mummy. Bit upset as he never wants daddy so a bit of a shock to my system. Ah well, maybe i'll get a break in the morn. Dh isn't going to work as he has caught our colds and it has turned into full blown 'man flu'.

Lysettes · 08/11/2006 21:36

Hijack!

sorry to jump onto your thread. DS was born mid july but I'm on the september thread as he was 8 weeks early. He had a hernia op at 6 weeks and we had to give him horrid bitter anitbiotics for an infection afterwards - olivo, re your gaviscon woes - we gave him part of the syringe during the feed and then some towards the end, during his bottle feed, and he did fall for the trick on most occasions!

hope it helps!

dd is still lovely, she sleeps 11 - 7 most nights, or sometimes wakes at 5ish for a feed then sleeps till 9am. Snow - ds did that, when he was around 3 months old he'd cry at 5.30 every day (when daddy was due home) and would be totally inconsolable. Strange!

YF - congrats on getting the shopping done and eeny I VERY much approve of the christmas spirit! DH and I will be sorting through our decorations very soon.

And we'll be moving early next year! We put in an offer on a house which was accepted so fingers crossed all goes well! Doesn't look like we'll be moving till feb/march but the house is just what I wanted.

A question to fellow sling users - what do you have your dd/ds wearing in the sling? I have a huggababy which is quite thin fabric, but I'm worried she'll get too hot in a snowsuit as she has my body warmth as well? But the other option is her in her coat, and then I'm worried her legs and feet will be cold (shoes and socks don't stay on as her feet are way too narrow) plus her coat isn't that thick... or I know I could get a huge coat and do it up over us but then I'm wondering about what to have her in under.... argh!

MrsChristmasboo · 09/11/2006 09:46

Luna, ds1 is nearly 4 and wanted daddy who arrived home at 12:10am this morn p**sed as a rat..... Luckily ds1 went to sleep at 11pm in the end......Arghhhhhh

Well must get organised, Mil is taking me out for lunch today . She is being really well behaved atm. Hmmmmm wonder whats coming???

eenysugarplumfairy · 09/11/2006 09:57

Luna - At the moment, when I go out with Alex in the sling he wears socks, trousers, a top and a hat. Same when we are inside, minus the hat. Later on when it gets colder I will add a cardigan and when it gets REALLY cold a coat or snowsuit. He always stays REALLY warm being right next to me. My sling is fleece though so its really warm. Thanks for doing the stats!

MrsChristmasBoo it isnt too early! Its too early for decorations but not getting in the spirit of Christmas! I alwasy put decorations up the first weekend in December.

YEllow - Well done for going out and doing so well!! I can totally empathise with you, its a great acheivement!

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 09/11/2006 18:16

Name changed

Luna, nice to see you back. The very best with the house buying. I hope it all runs smoothly for you all.
Re the sling, we do like Eeny. When we went to the firework display last week, I dressed Ellis in a sleepsuit, jacket, gloves and a hat. It was freezing cold but with that amount of clothes on, he was fine.
Our sling is made of fleece so it gets quite warm in there.

Well to my utter dismay and sadness, the Carry Cot has officialy gone [insert bawling emoticon]. Ellis has just got too big for it and he keeps banging his hands on the sides now.
So today my PILs brought up a Cot that they bought for dd to sleep in when she stayed there. Its now made up by the side of the bed but I am so gutted that he's going in it already.
I think he really is going to be a mummys boy. Even if he doesnt want to be, he hasnt got much choice

PinkTulips · 09/11/2006 18:43

lol feathers, think caleb will be an involuntary mommies boy too

hello isasmum, welcome to the madhouse!

melsy · 10/11/2006 10:06

Im here , dont get as much time as used to , always in the car doing nursury runs or sorting feeds or tidying messy house !!! Also sorting out my little sisters wobbly state with work and college work , poor things all a fluster as shes not been well this week. Im also lurking all over mn !!!

Wow eeeny you sound like a changed women, has the colic well and truelly gone ? Isnt it lovely to enjoy it , how you feeling in yourself in general?

melsy · 10/11/2006 10:07

ahhh X posts

ahhh so tis the walls walls and more walls

still paranoid , lack of sleep playing with my mind somethng awful last few days.

olivo · 10/11/2006 10:13

aaaagh! still cant think of a festive name - any ideas anyone?

left my dd for the first time last night - except for making sure my phone was in my pocket, wasnt too anxious and had a good time. but came back to find that the bm that i'd expressed wasnt enough and dh was patiently sitting with dd till i got home! oops!

got my first baby massage class this morning. anyone else done that?

still struggling with the gaviscon, she wont take it from a bottle so i'm back to half a dose in a syringe, thinking that some has got to be better than none!

SparklyfestiveYellowFeathers · 10/11/2006 10:22

Mels, had to go to me nans yesterday morning cos it was her b'day. came back to dh's parents and then just had a mental evening.
Cot went absolutly fine, he looks miniscule in it!
I've got half of that room left to strip so hopefully I'll get it done.
I'm deffo allowing myself well deserved msn time tonight
Its a date!

melsy · 10/11/2006 10:23

I did baby massage with dd1 and she loved it , was a little ritual I did at home a few times a week with oils and nice calm music. I also made a new mummy friend there and I still see her 3 yrs later.

I had to use syringe for the nystan drops, which I coould NEVER get to do 4 times a day. Will she not have it mixed into the EBM ???sorry not a great help

melsy · 10/11/2006 10:25

awww hiya yellow, ooh sorry , didnt want to make u feel you had to explain all your moves sorry. Sorry you had a mental evening .

Happy birthday yellows nan!!
