Pink I am glad I am not the only one who thinks of them. I almost feel guilty for having a healthy baby, we are all so so so lucky. Its good to remember that when the little devils are driving us mad for one reason or another.

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 30/12/2006 10:48

Morning all.

Hi BHM, glad you had a good xmas. So sorry to hear about your friend. Its such an awful thing isnt it.
MIL's friends daughter was induced yesterday but there is still no news.

Pinky, hope your perking up a bit now. Deffo get some vitamins down your neck. I found vit B6 very good when I was feeling run down.

Mels, hope your day was ok yesterday.

Well after debating what to do with Ellis yesterday, I took him in to the Dr's to be checked over. Luckily he wasn't dehydrated and there is no infection in his ears or throat just his chest. He also said he wasnt to concerned about the level of antibiotics he was taking so long as he is getting something and that it will probably just take him a bit longer to get over it because of the reflux.
So after a slightly better night with him, I feel ok about him now.
I think its also hit me how severe his reflux can be too. Not sure how good that is lol but at least I am more aware of it now and not to be too suprised when we come across hurdles like this.

I'm going to find a walker today for Ellis in the sales. Madison had one that a friend gave me and she loved it. It was probably one of the best things she has ever had. Ellis is kicking quite alot now and he has good control of his head so I think he's ready for one.

burstingwithfestivitybug · 30/12/2006 11:00

Hi YF and all the gang, Joe had bad reflux again all yesterday and last night we both get soaked
I will have to keep giving him gaviscon by the looks of it, I hadn't given him any since xmas eve he wasn't doing too badly without it, but its got worse again.
Must feed him actually, he's been up over an hour so far! George doesn't want his breakfast, just more choc choc! pita! He's running round in circles, stupid boy.

I can't imagine what it's like to miscarry or have a still birth, must be absolute hell, my heart goes out to all who have been through it. I do feel very very lucky that I have had 2 healthy pregnancies and 2 wonderful ds's.

olivhohoho · 30/12/2006 14:59

afternoon all!
YF - glad ellis seems to be a bit better.
bursting - reflux is crap isnt it. i notice dd seems to get better, i stop the gaviscon and then it gets worse again. give it to her from time to time now.

have been trying to make a decision as to where to go with dd's feeding (have a thread on it in feeding). do any of you 'mix' feed - if so, which feeds do you bf/ff? i'm getting quite anxious about making the roght decision.its all so confusing.any advice welcome!

been swimming this a.m - dd loved it and was kicking away. now polishing off a box of xmas chocs....( kitkats still a favourite though - as long as they're chunky

olivhohoho · 31/12/2006 16:15

melsy · 31/12/2006 17:04

olivhohoho · 31/12/2006 17:11

grrr to men not listening! tell him the shops are still open........

melsy · 31/12/2006 17:23

he does it even when its written down for him on paper , how does that happen. He went shopping Friday , as its easier alone than with both girls and decided NOT to get milk as its, get this, HEAVY !!!!I mean fgs whats that all about?? He had a car ? I still dont get it, as this afternoon when I made tea for me and dd1 there was no milk left and he had to go out again in the rain and colod just to get milk , makes NO sense.

olivhohoho · 31/12/2006 17:31

i'm glad he was the one who went out to get it!

hope you're treating yourself to a glass of something nice this evening. what are your plans? we're staying in but have a bottle of champagne we were given when dd was born. we never got a chance to drink it as by the time we knew she was going to be ok, we were too knackered!

melsy · 31/12/2006 17:38

DH is cooking a lovely amazing meal as we speak, so I feel quite guilty moaning about him! Staying in as dont want to spend the money this yr , baby sitting costs are ridic , no one has asked us anywere anyway!!!

Also have champagne in fridge awaiting sloshing down neck !! dd2 will sleep well tonight lol!!! Kir Royals at the double please!!!

What are you doing ??

olivhohoho · 31/12/2006 17:42

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 31/12/2006 20:44

Hi y'all.
Just a quickie to wish you all a very very happy new year.
2006 was a bit a weird one for me to say the least but amoungst all the bad times I "met" everyone of you and I cannot thank you all enough for the help and support you have given me way back from the beggining of december last year.

Lots of love to you all and your babies.
Chloe.

eenysugarplumfairy · 01/01/2007 10:27

Happy New Year to all my wonderful friends!

Can you believe we arent even in the same year our babies were born in anymore? They are growing up!

Hope you all had a wonderful time. I made eggnog (posted in recipes about it if you want the recipe!) and it was so good it was like super yummy baileys.

Melsy how are you and your DH now?

olivhohoho · 01/01/2007 11:01

Happy New Year to you all

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 02/01/2007 09:13

Happy New Year to you all

Jayne, your so lucky to have the day to yourself. Lovely MIL and DH . Glad you had a good NYE!

Sarah, we were the same. I went to bed about 10 and dh came up at 11 but unfortunatley the pub we live next door to had the crappiest singer in ever doing the "the hits of the 50's and 60's" , so our new year was brought in with him and some horrific fireworks!

Ellis is finally on the mend now! Still not feeding as much but its getting better. We've got a real sleep issue though. He's waking 4/5 times in the night and feeding little bits at a time. Last night was awful and I am totally passed myself. This woman cannot function on no sleep!!!

stumpydoglooksforwardtospring · 02/01/2007 11:41

yf-i don't know the background to ellis' reflux probs, being newish to this group but my dd also woke many times at night and had reflux probs. when i tried bottlefeeding she had only bile come out in her nappies and got very sick (rashes, vomiting, dehydration) it turned out she had cows milk intolerance ( and also soya and goat) we were given hypoallergenic formula but basically i breastfed her and cut all dairy and soya products from my own diet. after she was a year old she was tested in hospital and is ok with dairy now

i hope everyone had a great new year and christmas. i was up til past 2am on new year's eve, but only to pick up my 19yr old daughter from a nightclub. i wish i'd known about mn and this group when i was pg. it would have been great to discuss things and get to know everyone. none of my friends have babies. when i've a little more time i intend to post another message, which will be a rant about last year. i'm so pleased it's a new year and i feel blessed to have my lovely family and a safe and secure home

olivhohoho · 02/01/2007 13:20

afternoon all! just been to hire a treadmill - it is arriving this afternoon so now no more excuses about losing this large belly of mine! we have hired it for 8 and a half weeks as we are going on holiday after that and i want to be able to wear a bikini again (wishful thinking, maybe..). going to buy a new sports bra tomorrow so my boobs arent even more wrecked!

stumpy - maybe we could meet up once we've got back into normal post-new year routine? are you working?

YF - glad ellis ia feeling better now. lol at the singer in the pub

booby - how can you have got this far without ever watching the sound of music? its the best film ever!!
