PinkTinsel · 27/12/2006 12:55

had it before mels but never taken this long to clear. started a thread and got some good advice though and it's easing now. still feel bruised but less fluey and the redness is mostly gone.

how's you back now sarah, hope dh took good care of you. did you get some nice pressies to cheer you up at least?

eeny, definitely not my best christmas, and last year was miserable too. can't wait til the kids are older and it's more relaxed. dp is delighted though. i've come to the decision that i definitely don't want more so he's a very relieved man!

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 27/12/2006 14:52

Hiya everyone!
Hope you all had a great christmas.
I can join the ill gang. Luckily dd got over her cough and cold before xmas day but both Ellis and I have got it. Poor Ellis is sooo poorly with it. Its making his reflux a hundred times worse and I think he knows it because he wont feed and to top it off, I cricked my neck on xmas day morning so have been walking round like a right moron!
Despite all that though we had a lovely day. Great for dd to spend the day at home with all her pressies.

I'm just searching the online sales trying to find an outfit for BIL's wedding doo a week on saturday.
Anyone grabbed any bargains yet?

sarahSILVERbells · 27/12/2006 15:30

Afternoon everyone. My back is still bad, although I'm getting by on ibuprofen and paracetamol. DH had to take Molly for her 3rd injections today - 2 in one leg, one in the other! Poor little mite. Got lots of calpol ready as the nurse said she might react to these ones more than the others!

Hope everyone else who is ill gets better shortly. As for me, I'll just keep taking the tablets and hope that they work soon

eenysugarplumfairy · 27/12/2006 19:53

Sorry to everyone ill and in pain there seems to be a lot of us at the moment.

Melsy your tea sounds lovely!

Pink your mastitis sounds awful you totally do not deserve that!! Poor thing!

We went to mothercare today and got some much needed/wanted stuff, that was really nice. Alex is talking loads he just will not be quiet and I adore the little (and not so little!) noises he makes!

Hope you are all having a good time, as good as you can do with broken bodies!

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 28/12/2006 09:39

Gosh everyone is suffering!
I hope your all feeling better today. How many of us are ill now? Not very good is it.

Tis great shopping for them isnt it Eeny
I'm hoping to hit the sales soon and get Ellis some gorgeous stuff.

Well my poor little boy really is unwell. I had to rush him to the docs yesterday evening cos he just couldn't keep any milk down at all. The Doc said he has Broncilitis and if he gets any worse I have to take him to hospital . He really is getting worse too. He can't keep his feeds down and I'm lucky if he can keep the anti biotics down too. Will have to see how he goes today and dh and have agreed if he gets any worse we're gonna take him in this afternoon.
So please send good health vibes oooop north!!!!!

PinkTinsel · 28/12/2006 14:24

feathers, poor little ellis. i'll keep my fingers crossed for him. hope you don't need to bring him in.

hope everyones feeling better, am on the mend but slowely. need to start taking vitamins again i think as i'm so tired and run down and can't cope with being sick every other week like this!

olivhohoho · 28/12/2006 15:54

sorry to hear Ellis is poorly YF.Hope he gets better soon. and hope everyone else is feeling a bit better too. i had a heavy cold a couple of weeks ago but dd didnt catch it luckily!

been shopping today - got loads of bargains and the best thing was that i paid for them all with boots points i'd been saving and vouchers from when dd was born and my birthday and xmas!. all for dd though, couldnt find anything for me. mothercare ahs got some fab deals though. people must get really p**ed off if they've bought stuff at normal prices last week for presents, thats why i always ask for vouchers!

we're thinking about hiring a treadmill for 3 months after the new year - cheaper than both of us going to the gym and might encourage me to start getting rid of my mummy tummy

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 28/12/2006 20:14

Well Ellis is a bit better now. Not massively but there is a slight improvement. Some of his meds arestaying down, others are coming back. He also had a mass puking session this afternoon on dh when I had gone to bed but on it seems as though he's managed to get rid of alot of the nasty stuff that was on his stomach.
The thing that worries me though, is that this dosn't bode well for weaning. It seems anything other than his formula makes him vomit. We had to totally ditch the Calpol because that was a guarenteed vomit inducer.

Heard some awful news today too. I have to tell someone cos it's upset me so much. My MIL's best friends daughter found out she was pregnant earlier this year. Last week she went fo her 20 week scan to find that the baby had implanted on the wall of her womb and the babys legs had grown in her muscle therefore stopped one leg growing completly and the other was shorter than it should have been. They said that they would have to be amputated at birth and on top of that, there wasn't alot of amniotic fluid and he may have problems with his lungs, kidneys and brain. Anyway she was given the option to terminate and after a trip to the specialists and seeing some children who have had similar things, she has decided to terminate . She's gone in today to be induced and she will have him naturally
It has totally broken my heart beyond belief. I really don't know how anyone is supposed to cope with something like that. I just hope that she takes it well, but to see your baby at 21 weeks and dying is just soul destroying.

So needless to say, I'm a bit gutted today.

olivhohoho · 28/12/2006 20:31

that's so sad nbgcan't think what she must be going through right now.

glad ellis is a bit better.

lunavix · 28/12/2006 21:07

hi everyone, i will try and read through but don't have time this second, so please don't think im ignoring you all

hope everyone has had a great christmas, i know i don't always post but i try and read what you are all up to most days, like has been said before i don't know what id have done without you all. i feel like such an outsider irl sometimes its just amazing to have this to chat to you all. love you allto bits xxxx

did i miss a meet up or was it postponed? will be gutted if i missed it

kiera has been ill since the 20th, hacking cough and vomiting, my good girl who slept at least from 11pm to5/6am now wakes all night, usually 1 - 7am. At wits end! will be taking her to GPs tomorrow. apparently it's 'just a cold'

ive hurt my foot think i may have broken a tiny bone as it hurts in an odd place to be bruised.

christmas was dreadful with my mum staying but looking forward to new year

YF - can't imagine what she is going through. give her my wishes/love/thoughts

lunavix · 28/12/2006 21:09

thought id add, at last weigh in dd was 12lb 12 but no idea what she is now. 3rd set of jabs next weeks. still in 0 - 3 bar sleepsuits and vests which she's too long for.

She also rolled over for the first time christmas eve (the day she turned 4 months)

shes still entirely bf, to dh's protests who wants to wean her but i don't think she's ready.

melsy · 28/12/2006 22:30

Awww yellow I just read yuor post on yuor mils friends daughter, how awful , made a shiver go up me, Ive had to really fight my brain doing nasty things to my emotions IYKWIM. Poor poor girl what must she be going through, I cant bare to think but my heads gone and given me the visions of it anyway . So heartbreaking. Im so sad for her terrible loss.

Poor little ellis , glad hes a bit better. Have you had any luck frm threads on MN about weaning and bad reflux? Did you find that thread on the wedge thingys?

Pink how is yuor mastitis now,. I know its rotten I got it bilaterally with dd1, she also wouldnt feed from me with it, I did hear it makes milk go salty I have no idea how true that is?

Envious of all the sales shopping , Im not really allowed to buy much with dh starting his new business .Olivhohoho dont you just love those boots points!, Im saving mine up for a new perfume, but other than that dh will go mental if I bring any new bags of things home. Ah well, quite good for a compulsive shopper to be barred !!!

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 29/12/2006 08:27

I think I spoke to soon. Ellis is not better. I'm not sure now whether he is allergic to the amoxicillin. As soon as I give him it, he vomits. He vomited in the middle of the night when I fed him but wouldn't settle till he was fed so I was totally at my boiling point. What on earth are you supposed to do when your baby wants to feed but it makes him sick??????
This whole second time mummy thing has got me stumped totally and if anyone ever again says "Oh its a bit easier second time round", can expect a black eye.

Ahhhhh rant over.
Anyway
Luna, wonder if Kiera has what Ellis has. Sounds very similar. Poor girl. Lovely that she rolled over . Ellis can just manage his side atm. How is your mum? You should come here more often. I miss your posting. Also I'm not sure I have your correct addy for MSN.

Melsy, sorry I should have thought about you before I posted. I hope it hasnt made things horrible for you.

On MSN today girlies if anyone fancies a chat. Thats vomit catching permitting.

olivhohoho · 29/12/2006 09:05

poor ellis , hope it all gets sorted out soon YF.

hi luna - good to hear from you. hope kiera feels better soon.

back into town today to exchange acouple of things for dd - the usual winter things a couple of sizes too big which would fit in high summer! no doubt they'll now be in the sale so we'll only get half of what they're worth!

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 29/12/2006 09:20

Pinky, I wanted to ask you.... Did you have this kind of problem with dd and medicine? My dd is allergic to penicillin but I'm just wondering if its a Reflux thing rather than an allergy.

PinkTinsel · 29/12/2006 10:56

Feathers, dd never had any meds except for the odd wit of calpol and that had the same effect as milk, some came up, some stayed down. luckily she's never had ABs so i don't know how she would have reacted. i know i throw up on certain ABs though so might just be the one he's getting doesn't suit him.

so sorry about your friends baby, she probably mde the right choice though... i'm normally anti abortion but i don't think it would have been fair on either of them to bring such a sick baby into the world. hopefully the poor child will be at peace now can she have more children?

hey luna glad to hear your lurking even if we don't hear from you much. hope keira is better soon, so nasty when they ill and you can't do anything for them. is your mom gone home now? she didn't stay the week then? hope it wasn'ttoo horrible and at least you know you took the high road

melsy, i read that too bout the milk getting salty and he was definitely not impressed, lol. better now but still a little bruised feeling and full of cold. need to start taking vitamins or something as i alwyas seem to be sick recently.

BigHotMamaClaus · 29/12/2006 12:47

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great xmas. I just havent had chance to get on here at all, been so busy with visiting family and going out for dinner, xmas shopping and we had the funeral of DH's grandad so was a sad day. But I've really missed coming on here to chat with you all about our lovley lo's.

Sorry to hear some of you are suffering with colds, bad backs, bad foots etc. And Yellow, poor little Ellis he's having a rough time of it with the reflux, you must be at your wits end.

Jackson is now nicknamed 'Chunk' because he has put on quite a lot of weight especially on his thighs and I cant stop munching them, he's really filling out now he's on bottles and bit of solid. He can roll onto his front but cant get back, we often find him on his front in his cot its a bit scary as you automatically think they cant breathe but he turns his head to the side bless! He also plays a musical instrument, well a rattle that he bangs onto his other hand and sometimes doesnt realise it hurts until after he stops then he yells out a cry! He's a proper chatterbox and often wakes up talking mumbo jumbo and making sqeaky squarky sounds. He adores Dh and has a special chuckle that he only does for him...quite jealous actually as he doesnt do it for me? He seems to get more excited at the sight of DH too, I was hoping he would be a momy's boy!

Oh and all the weight I lost before xmas I've ut it al back on but I dont really care as I always enjoy my fod at xmas and will get back ontrack in the new year!

Welcome to Reid, always nice to see a newbie on here, and yes Pink I agree they do seem to come and go, please chat with us as we're a right friendly bunch on here.

Booby sorry I still havent got round to ringing you yet, will do in the new year when things have calmed down here, we should meet up in Brum one day and go for lunch or a coffee.

Anyway got to dash, Jackson is dribbling and wanting his bottle, the house is a state with stuff still in piles from xmas day, need to get som,e serious housework done vefore nye as we having a bit of a do here before going to the local pub. Catch you all soon x x

BigHotMamaClaus · 29/12/2006 12:55

Oh forgot to add my cousin had a baby boy called Jack on xmas day, she already has a 12 month old ds called Luke, I'm so chuffed for her as she had this baby naturally after her 1st was a CS so there's hope for me for baby No.2 (but not just yet thou lol)!

Heard a very sad story at my xmas works do, my friends' friend had been trying for her 1st baby for nearly 2 years and got pregnant earlier this year due early January, but 2 weeks ago she went to her AN check up anbd they couldnt detect a heartbeat, the baby had died, so she had to born it and they had a funewral last week, how destroying is that? I just coudlnt believe it? 3 weeks to go and she loses the baby? Didnt think that was possible, just made me realise how precious babies are and that is a real miracle to get them through those 9 months. Makes me feel so blessed!

PinkTinsel · 29/12/2006 13:54

that happened to dp's friend and his girlfriend too. stillborn at 9 months 'dp told me about it when i was pregnant with dd and it haunted me throughout both pregnancies

melsy · 29/12/2006 14:01

awww bhm how awful for her , makes me want to really hug both dd's really tight .

dd2 has those chunky munchy thighs , is gorge isnt it. she laughs when I have a nibble !!
Need to savour those moments and imprint them on my mind as they are very precious really , I didnt feel that as much in the same way with dd1.

Welll today were having another home pj day , sighhhhhh ,to grey, wet and tired to go anywere. Although dd1's having a fab time today , saw on skype video an old friend from MN with her kiddlies >> and dd1 was in raptures seeing them!!!She also got the idea off peppa pig to make a tent in the conservatory and dh rigged it up with our big blanket , her easel and toys storage units , shes loving it, although she wants me to get in it all the time!!! I think she will love love it when dd2 can do these things with her.

PinkTinsel · 29/12/2006 14:05

lol melsy dd drags caleb around the room in his bouncer so he can join in her games

melsy · 29/12/2006 14:07

lol dd1 does that to and tried to get dd2 to hold an aqaudraw pen today as she was laying on the drawing mat with her!

PinkTinsel · 29/12/2006 14:12

awww bless. caleb gets 'cuppa tea' and she fed him some banana yesterday. i love watching them interact with each other.... melts my heart every time

eenysugarplumfairy · 29/12/2006 17:26

Wow first of all, Yellow I am worried about you and poor Ellis. Is he any better! And what you have said about your acquaintences baby is terrible. I am so sorry. I dont know how anyone can cope with somethign like that.

BHM - same for the story you said. Its awful.

There was someone (I forget her name) on our thread who had a stillborn baby and to this day I am still sad for her and throughout the whole pregnancy that haunted me.

Luna hope Kiera is better.

Sorry for everyone who I have missed replying to I havent got much time so have only scanned all the posts really.

We are all doing really well, Alex is a little darling. A few days ago he was driving me mad with constant crying (I think he is teething) but now he is back to his sweet adorable self. Last night he sat up without being supported for a good minute!!

PinkTinsel · 29/12/2006 18:17

eeny sheona had a still birth at 24 weeks and ruthloise had her baby at 18 weeks and he died after half an hour...... both are in my thought constantly
