well im being abandoned tomorrow so i can clean from top to bottom then if off out on my works do in the evening so wont get much time with dh or cj at all

work was slow today but i treated the dh to a meal on the way home so it was nice to touch base after a week of nights

still cant make my mind up about the weaning we are gonna buy a high chair on tuesday im gonna try her again tomorrow with some breakfast stuff

im glad that the rat is dead yellow

erin glad its not just me who has it all on to get the cleaning done

PinkTinsel · 16/12/2006 19:46

we got our tree! it finally looks like xmas!

will caleb and ellis be the only ones not actually eating solids yet so? he has great fun playing with food but hasn't bothered to put anything in his mouth since the mash last week so we'll be a while yet i'd say!

jingleboobs · 16/12/2006 20:33

ive decided im gonna do baby led weaning and a bit of purreed food in a baby led weaning style

i love mess it will vbe so much fun

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 17/12/2006 13:14

Gosh quiet weekend or what!
I think it will be nice to wait till 6 months, so long as Ellis can wait till then. I'm looking forward to giving him sticks of veg and fruit. Thats the one thing I never did with dd. I just pureed everything. In fact I'm suprised the blender still works. It was done to death!

Pinky, YEY for the tree!!! We've had the decs up since the 2nd but it still doesnt feel like xmas for some reason. I'm normally dead excited.

Booby, Have you seen a highchair you like? If space is an issue, please please dont get one of those big chunky Chicco things. We got one for dd and I couldnt wait to get rid of it. Took up loads of room, stank badly and has too many nooks and crannys for food to get in. I'd really recommend one of those Tripp Trapp style ones that you can push up to the table and they can use for years. Will be well worth it.

eenysugarplumfairy · 17/12/2006 13:41

hi all! I am still hobbling around on my stupid legs. Am going to make an appointment with the Dr tomorrow as I really cant walk at all.

Pink so glad you got your tree up its lovely isnt it!

Booby how is the cleaning going? I have got less done as I can barely walk I am so annoyed I want to attack the clutter!

melsy · 17/12/2006 14:38

aww eeeny so sorry about yuor ankle , can you take nurofen and put hot and cold compresses on it?

Booby ,Ive got one of thsoe annoying nook and cranny highchairs , yellow is so right , invest in a trip trap , much nicer.

Pink , Im waiting to do weaning as yet , just dont really know what to do , I have a thread on things about dd2 and her wieght and food.

Srry girls for not coming on for ages at a time, IM having major meltdowns right now & find things overwhelming in phases.Have got an appt with Pychologist Tues. Just have to much going on right now and it all sucks.

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 18/12/2006 08:44

Ha ha haaaaaaaaa Booby!

Weeeeeelllll ladies, little Miss Booby rang me last night.

Embarrased you enough yet Booby?????

Eeny, that sucks about your ankle. Hope it gets a bit better. Must be quite difficult looking after Alex and hobbling about.

I'll be on MSN today girls if anyone fancies a chat. I'll show online but I'll be doing bits around the house cos if dh whinges much more, I think my ears will burst.

jingleboobs · 18/12/2006 16:43

PinkTinsel · 18/12/2006 17:07

pmsl at booby. right charmer aren't you? glad you had a good night!

eeny, how's your ankle now babe?

if you can't afford a trip trapp booby get one of those wooden highchairs that converts to a table and chair. dead handy and lasts forever!

purpleturtle · 18/12/2006 17:13

Hello - long time no see (all my own fault).

Ds2 is now rolling from back to front. Then squawking, cos he's stuck.

I'm leaving weaning as long as possible, which given that he's sleeping 7-7 looks like being a bit longer yet.

Am mnetting because dd has been off school sick today, ds2 is asleep and ds1 must be watching tv. Haven't seen him for ages. Perhaps I should check he hasn't gone to sleep. That's a disaster at this time of day!

Off out with a bunch of mums later for a Christmas social. Yay!

olivhohoho · 18/12/2006 17:19

Hello everyone! back at home now after a fantastic trip to england - caught up with loads of friends and family and did loads of shopping - exhausted now!

just taken me ages to read the thread!
eeny - hope your ankle is better.
melsy - sorry to hear things have been difficult, hope you are ok
Pink - we have a wooden chair and table high chair, can't wait to use it though i think it'll be a while yet, hoping to leave weaning for another couple of months if possible.

put my tree up today and wrapped a few presents but dd very clingy and tired so not much done. asleep in her swing right now!

oops - end of essay!

olivhohoho · 18/12/2006 17:20

purple - am of your ds going from 7 till 7! dd is still feeding at 10, 2 and 6! I'm knackered!!

MrsChristmasboo · 19/12/2006 10:03

have i really been gone that long???? What have they done to MN???? I don't like it

Will try to catch up as per usual wheni have 5mins to myself! Have ds1 off school also now as he has flu poor love, so Austin has been an angel thru the night but i've been up and down with the other one! typical....

purpleturtle · 19/12/2006 10:18

It is taking some getting used to, this new layout.

Dd finally stopped throwing up at 10.30 last night, and is now lying very pathetically on the sofa. I am insisting she drink regularly, but she is not especially co-operative.

Ds1 has gone to his nursery Christmas party this morning. How do I handle a hyper nearly 4yr old and his poorly big sister this afternoon???

Would it make you feel better, Olivo, if I tell you ds2 only put on 3oz in 4 weeks? If not, forget I said anything...

olivhohoho · 19/12/2006 11:50

purple. can empathise with the weight gain thing - dd was similar, hospitala have said not to get her weighed for a month as was doing weekly and getting upset at poor weight gain. hope your ds2's improves soon. how is your dd today?

hoppyrobin · 19/12/2006 12:27

Hello everyone

Olivo - I noticed my dd gained weight very slowly after each set of jabs, and my dd is also waking for a feed at those times! I have the biggest dark circles under my eyes!

re: high chair - I would definitely also recommend a chair-and-table type of high chair if the budget doesn't stretch to a tripp-trapp. I had one for ds - not only is it easy to clean as it doesn't have all the nooks and crannies of a padded chair, but it can be used for absolutely ages, up to age 3 or 4, and it can be used when doing craft etc.

re: weaning - I think it was eeny? who said about babies needing to be at least 15lb before they can start to be ready for weaning. I had a look at the charts for ds, and lo and behold - he was 15lb when he started being seriously interested in food! It certainly seems dd has some way to go - getting her weighed this week, I think she's around 11lbs. I don't mind - she's probably my last baby, so I'm in no hurry for her to grow - I'm enjoying her being a 'proper' infant for as long as possible

bhm - sorry to hear about your loss, especially hard at christmas.

eeny - hope your legs are better.

The flat is still a mess - I don't want any decorations until it's tidy. So not ready for christmas, although we did write and send all the cards yesterday!

Ash80 · 19/12/2006 12:37

Hello everyone,

My DS just had his 4 month vaccinations last week.I have noticed a hard lump in in his thigh.I have tried to massage it as it doesn't seem to hurt him.Is this normal, has anuyone else experinced this?

purpleturtle · 19/12/2006 13:06

That's completely normal Ash. Don't worry. I was asked about this by a friend last week, and as I said to her: Stop poking at your baby, and you'll have less to worry about!

I'm not bothered about ds2's weight gain (or lack thereof). I got all 3 baby books out, and ds2 is doing exactly what dd and ds1 did. The wonderful part about it is that our gp's practice put the scales in the waiting room during baby clinic, so mums weigh their own baby, and you don't have to see a HV at all.

olivhohoho · 19/12/2006 13:32

Ash - I've heard that is normal too. dd has her 3rd lot of vaccinations tomorrow.

I like the idea of a self weigh-in! not a big fan of the hv!

hoppy - got a good sample of dermalogica eye cream last week - works wonders on the baby eye baggage [ am hoping santa might leave some for me

Ash80 · 19/12/2006 14:12

Thanks for the replies

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 19/12/2006 14:22

Booby, serves you right you little fish you

Olivo, glad you had another good time over here! How much is this Dermalogica stuff? Sounds good. You used it before?

Purple, wow to the rolling over. I found that quite a hard time with dd. When she could roll over but couldnt get back. Yoyur poor dd. Is she better today?

Hoppy, rather jealous of your highchair. We've got the horrible chunky Chicco thing and we cant get another really cos MIL bought it for dd. I've had it out for a few days now and its already peeing me off.

SBoo, hope your ds is better soon.

My dd is poorly too. On Sunday we discovered she had worms [yuck] and then yesterday she started coming down with a nasty cough and snotty nose so it looks like she'll be getting full blown flu.
Also today we had enviromental health out to take the Rat away. I wanted to have a big bonfire but I wasnt allowed

jingleboobs · 19/12/2006 15:18

well i feel slighty normal today than x clo

jingleboobs · 19/12/2006 15:23

just tidyed and my mates turned up half way thru and i ve got piles of washing to do which equals piles of ironing ho hum

any ideas how to do a housekeeping routine for thrre daya a week gratefully received

hope yr lo's are better those who are poorly

purpleturtle · 19/12/2006 15:26

Thanks, nbg, or whatever your name is! Dd ate a bit of lunch and seems to be on the mend now. Just hoping no-one else comes down with it.

Bit shocked by the rolling over, because although dd did it at the same age, ds1 didn't bother till he was 10 months . I just looked round at everything down at floor level and thought it's time to get the playpen out . Might keep ds2 safe from ds1 as well.

Ash80 · 19/12/2006 15:47

I was just wondering how everyone feels about their post baby weight? I used to a slim size 8, and i really want to fit back into my clothes. I have been eating sensibly for over 4 months now and have been going to the gym for cardio workout for the past month. But in vain, still have a little belly and those jeans are no way near fitting me.
Anyone back to original weight yet? Will my beely ever go :-(
