sarahSILVERbells · 23/12/2006 16:37

eenysugarplumfairy · 23/12/2006 19:24

Alex has got to be teething he is crying loads and we keep having to give him medised.

REIDnotREEDorREAD · 23/12/2006 19:40

hello all. i've just discovered this thread. My DS was born in Aug (he should have been born in sept but was 3 weeks early)am i too late to join your group?

olivhohoho · 23/12/2006 19:57

hi Reid! welocme to the August thread - of course you're not too late tell us about your ds!

all this talk of weaning is making me hungry - just enjoying some cadburys misshapes but must be restrained . havent even thought about weaning dd yet, but I'm pleaed to say she only woke once last night so is very much in my good books!was out with my 'mum' friends today and their dcs have all been 'sleeping through' for weeks...grrrrrrrr!

hope you all have a fab xmas - i'll sneak on when i can!

PinkTinsel · 23/12/2006 20:26

olivo...... THEY'RE LYING! at least thats my personal theory on these angel babies

welcome reid, you're not too late at all, we love new recruits! how're you getting on so far? is he your first?

eenysugarplumfairy · 24/12/2006 11:32

Welcome Reid!! Make yourself at home here. My son was due in Sept but born in August 4 weeks prem.

Hey I dont mean to sound funny but girls have you noticed most of the newbies who join our thread dont stick around?? Reid I swear we are a friendly bunch!!

Olivo do you still go mad for kit kats?

Pink my friend has an 8 month old and she drives me mad she is like 'whenever I put DD in her cot and shut the door she knows its time to sleep' That's it. That's all she has to do to get her LO to sleep. I could kill!

Hope you all have a really lovely Christmas!! I'm sure I will pop on here to say hi!

PinkTinsel · 24/12/2006 14:05

lol, calebs does that....... he just doesn't stay asleep little begger!

and dd does that but only because we did cc after a year of 2-4 hours sleep a night!

i firmly believe these people are embellishing the truth with what they wish was the case. and when anyone is there to see the truth they hear 'he's not usually like this, very odd. it must be the excitment of having you in the house' sure it is!

lol at the newbies running in terror btw. do we smell funny?!

REIDnotREEDorREAD · 24/12/2006 19:06

Thomas (my ds) is a little star. He was 7lb 8oz but now probably nearer to 15 - 16 lb (not had him weighed for a while) he dropped his night feed at 12 weeks, but was still waking once or twice between 4 - 5am. he has however now stopped doing that most nights and sleeps from 6.30pm til 6-7am (apart from his 11pm dream feed)

He is great and i love him to bits!!!

I too have been looking into weaning. My mil has been going on about it for weeks!

sarahSILVERbells · 24/12/2006 22:49

Hi everyone. Just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Think I'll hammer the xmas booze a bit this year as I had to miss out last year (but it was worth it!)

melsy · 24/12/2006 23:00

ahhh helloo girls , evening sarah , thought no one was around, all downing the sherry already. I still fancy a port or 4 , but have to feed right now and Im zonkoed.

will catch up soon, all sorts of stuff going on with me and family , legs flapping madly under the current, but putting on a brave face above .

Merry Christmakah to you all XXXX

PinkTinsel · 24/12/2006 23:01

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

sarah. unless i want a drunk baby i have to limit my drinking tomorrow to just one or two glasses.... just as well really, am the only one who can cook so wouldn't be handy if i was drunk and fecked up the dinner!

i'm as sorted as it's possible to be on xmas eve though so am much more relaxed and chilled than last year and it's the first time in 3 years i haven't been pregnant for xmas so at least it's better than the last 2 years

love to all of you and your families and i hope all the wee ones have a great day with lots of pressies.

PinkTinsel · 24/12/2006 23:04

glad it went well for you, nothing beats a festive season at home does it?

stumpydogsbaubles · 25/12/2006 00:21

happy christmas everyone . i've been extra busy again, having to try and finish accounts for my business as well as looking after the children. my ds, 4 months now, has just started solids. he'd started to wake and feed through the night after sleeping well for ages and managed to grab my fork when i was eating and stared at our food all the time, so we checked with the paediatrician ( he is under his care due to his kidney prob) who said any time between about 4 and 6 months is fine, and to start when we think he needs it. well - he has loved his food he has baby rice once a day and he is a lot more contented now. i've just finished wrapping presents so i'm off to bed. i'll catch up reading all the messages when i can. have a lovely christmas

Micku5 · 25/12/2006 00:40

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE !!!!!!!!! Just finished wrapping the last present and have put out a glass of milk, some carrots and a half yule log (all the mince pies weere eaten) for Santa and his helpers.

Just have to do a thank you note from Santa for dd1 and I'm off to bed.

sarahSILVERbells · 25/12/2006 21:03

So much for my drinking this xmas! I got up off the toilet this morning (only having a wee!) and my back went! I have been on paracetamol and ibuprofen from 9am this morning. It is only just starting to kick in . Never mind, will have to get better for New Year so I can make it up!

All the best to everyone and I hope you all had a very good xmas day!

PinkTinsel · 26/12/2006 11:14

eenysugarplumfairy · 26/12/2006 20:51

Hello all!! Hope you are all having a lovely time! We are here although poor Alex is teething so has had a few unhappy moments this Christmas. Overall though its the best one I have ever had!!! I hope you can all say the same.

Lots of love

olivhohoho · 27/12/2006 11:12

hi everyone! glad to hear people have enjoyed christmas - for pink and sarah ( and baby alex) - hope you're better soon.

we had a lovely time too, dd was so good and was given some lovely presents - it always astounds me how generous people are towards babies. i drank too much wine on xmas day so had to give dd expressed milk and formula all evening/night - enjoyed myself though ! fortunately dh was driving.....

getting back to normality here today, have to do some expressing to top up my freezer supplies.... back later!

melsy · 27/12/2006 12:45

morning all ( not mornning now ,its taken about nearly 2hrs to get this posted after I started wiriting it at 11!)

glad everyones having a nice time, looks like you are eeeny. I wouldnt sya this is my best though , although is lovely having my dd2 around after all the time of talking about having another lo.

so sorry to hear Sarah & Pink are not to good , have u had it b4 pink ? Its nasteee is that Mastitis , have you caught it early enough to not have anti biotics?? and Sarah what were you doing on the loo to put your back out ? Looks like nurofen cocktails all round hey.

Not sure why Im all jolly , Im still in pjs this morn and have no plans today and its a bit dull really with another day of kids telly and grey sky otuside the doors( think I just jealous cos my middle sis is in Florida with ehr to lo's and dd1 is missing them). Dh is taking dd1 out to do some errands later and dd2 is going to bed soon. Although do have cinema booked for dh and I later this eve. My little sis is baby sitting for me yeaah.

Yesterday we went for tea at a little hotel in Kensington. Which was quite nice as we werent going to go after being up half the night with dd2 after lots of champers too !

Forgot to say hi too REIDnotREEDorREAD & Ash welcome.
