Hope you enjoy your holiday in Scotland Felix, and that the midges and the weather are kind. I miss Scotland so much sometimes, but I am also a bit worried that it will have changed so much I can no longer relate to it since I have been away so long. I used to spend long summer holidays in Barra, it is my favourite place in the world and I can't wait to take DD and N there.

I am going to visit my Mum in August and was really excited about returning to Edinburgh until I remembered that it will be smack bang in the middle of the festival madness. Only one week until we come to the UK! We are going to the Royal Welsh the day after we arrive, mostly for the angora goats. They are awesome!

GSR glad your DH is back and hope he isn't away again any time soon. Sounds like you did really well just you and L though. Smile

I actually really like that DD thinks for herself and doesn't care much for others opinions. It is important that she be allowed to make her own mind up about religion and everything really, which is why she is in French school where there is no religious instruction and hijab etc is banned. I just hope that she can stay that way and that peer pressure doesn't get to her too much as she grows up, especially here where others opinions of you can spell real trouble.

Enjoy your picnic!

Thinking of you nature and hope you and your baby are well. Flowers

Happy holidays Felix! Its pretty nice in the Highlands just now so hopefully wherever you are going will be nicer. Does your DH watch the Tour de France btw? DH watches every night for 3 weeks so I tend to get fairly into it. H is most impressed by any camera shots of the peleton swooping past and the lion teddy the rider gets when they win a stage/jersey. Babies are odd.

Barra is definitely on my list for a holiday - maybe next year altered - I keep hoping for good weather!

Naturegirl82 · 12/07/2015 13:03

Thanks for all the well wishes. Joshua was born after a quick induction on Saturday morning weighing a healthy 9lb 6oz. He's doing fab and feeding well. My kidney problem doesn't seem to have completely settled down yet though so still on painkillers but doing ok. O isn't sure yet and is observing from a distance but she seems ok. We are just letting her take things in her own stride.

GunShotResidue · 12/07/2015 19:33

Congratulation nature!

Thanks altered. He's away again on Monday but only for 2 nights, then for 2 weeks in august, but I'll be in Devon with family for them.
Being an independent thinker is definitely a good thing :)

FelixFelix · 13/07/2015 13:30

Thanks, weather is terrible here. Cold and raining Sad Its still a lovely place though. I'm hoping the rain will ease off at some point in the week as I'd like to get a ferry across to one of the islands. Weather was beautiful last year so I think we were a bit spoilt.

Puggle yes we both watch every year! I've watched it ever since I met DP and I love it. I never thought cycling would be that exciting but it really is. It's unbelievable that they will try and carry on with a broken collarbone or vertebrae Shock

Nature hope you're feeling ok. Are you still in hospital?

Naturegirl82 · 13/07/2015 15:23

Felix enjoy your holiday.

We got discharged on Saturday evening so been home a few days. It's so much better being at home and O has settled a lot more now I'm back. Dh is off for 8 weeks now which is going to make getting used to having 2 so much easier Smile

alteredimages · 13/07/2015 15:38

Congratulations nature! Flowers. I hope O comes round to the idea soon. It must be scary for her to see you in hospital and to be away from you. Maybe her feelings about a new baby are tied up with you not being at home? Hope you feel better soon.

Shame about the weather Felix, but hope it brightens up soon. If you are in Oban maybe go down to Kilmartin, they have an excellent museum and lots of really interesting bronze age sites in the glen. It is about 45 minutes away but worth the drive. Or you could catch the ferry to Barra and extend your holiday by a couple of weeks. It is fairly flat except for Heaval in the middle so great for cycling!

puggle do go to Barra, and as soon as possible. You will never want to leave. All my best adventures were had there. I love Eoligarry best, though Vatersay would be nice too.

Barra from the plane.

alteredimages · 13/07/2015 15:43

X post nature. Glad you are back home, and that your DH is around to help. Smile

Naturegirl82 · 13/07/2015 19:47

Thanks altered. I think it was me being away that unsettled O as I hadn't even said goodbye when I left. She gets upset everytime I go to the door at the minute even just to open it for someone else so I think she's worried I'm going to disappear again! bless her.

FelixFelix · 14/07/2015 19:53

Altered barra looks great. Unfortunately we have to leave on Friday as DP has a race this weekend! We have come for a week this time but it still doesn't feel long enough. Rain has stopped though and it's been glorious sunshine today!!

Nature I bet it's nice to be home Smile

S isn't very well Sad she woke up at 4am boiling hot. I've never felt her so warm before and it freaked me out. She was shaking and red hot all over, and went back to sleep eventually after I stripped her off. She's had a temperature all day and been so unhappy.

GunShotResidue · 15/07/2015 19:22

I hope S is feeling better today Felix

L's sleep has got worse again. Not as bad as before but 3am has been morning the last few nights...

Angelesque · 15/07/2015 21:29

A belated congrats Nature (though caught you on FB Smile ) how is it going? Hope you are feeling okay, feeding going well and somehow you're managing scrape some sleep! X

Swannykazoo · 16/07/2015 08:07

Back on the every two hours wake here. Bloody teeth or itchiness or something. I really must go to bed early tonight to try and feel semi human.
Hope S is feeling better Felix

FelixFelix · 18/07/2015 12:01

BrewWine for everyone with non sleeping toddlers!

We are back now but have stopped off at PIL's until tomorrow as DP is racing in Gateshead tomorrow. S is still poorly Sad she's come out in a viral rash again and is so tired and snotty. She's eating now though after being off her food for a few days so she must be getting better slowly.

alteredimages · 19/07/2015 08:03

Hope S is better soon Felix. Sad

Waiting in the airside business lounge hoping to board the plane which is due to leave in 10 mins. Confused. Hopefully they are just running a bit late.

TobyLerone · 20/07/2015 08:49

Fell off the thread again. Everyone ok?

FelixFelix · 20/07/2015 09:09

S still got a stinking cold Sad forgot there's no play groups for 6 WHOLE WEEKS! What on earth am I going to do?! I usually go to a play group 4 days a week, and will only have the car one day a week. Dreading it. Also S has decided not to walk again.

Altered hope you had a good flight?

How are you Toby?

GunShotResidue · 20/07/2015 18:47

Have you got a sure start centre nearby felix? Our one runs groups through the holidays.

She slept 10.30-6! I'm still in shock. The night before was horrendous, hoping she'll sleep well tonight and tomorrow night as DH is away until late Wednesday.

TobyLerone · 20/07/2015 22:21

Our Sure Start centre doesn't run much in the holidays.

I'm OK thanks, felix. Busy times at the moment. M has taken to waking up in the night for a feed like a tiny baby. It's very tiresome.

FelixFelix · 20/07/2015 22:34

There's one down the road but they are only running the small baby group through the holidays.

GSR that's great! I hope she keeps it up.

Toby, not so great. Fingers crossed it passes quickly.

alteredimages · 22/07/2015 23:28

I made it onto the flight. Smile

So far N has fallen into a pond and DD has wandered off in the town centre so I am not doing so well on the whole parenting front. DD was also attacked by a duck at the Royal Welsh.

I think this trip has cured me once and for all of homesickness. It is bloody freezing! I have had to go out and buy new clothes for us all, but despite it being so cold nowhere sells jumpers! Only bloody tank tops and flouncy skirts and racer back tops! I think we may have turned into wimps, since DBs and nephews are all in t-shirts and shorts.

I probably deserve to get flamed for this but after a few days in Wales I miss vegetables! So far my major food groups have been chips, red meat, biscuits and tea.

In the South at the moment visiting DB but travelling to DF and DSM on Friday and back to Wales again the week after before visiting DM in Scotland.

Hope M's sleep settles soon Toby, that sounds exhausting!

Can you let S loose for a couple of hours at the local park Felix?

TobyLerone · 23/07/2015 07:05

Sounds like a busy trip, altered!

FelixFelix · 23/07/2015 08:33

Altered that does sound like a busy trip! No judging here as I've had a chippy tea four times in the past week and a half Grin and it IS freezing. I've had the heating on the past few days and it's been really cold here.

I have the car today but can't think of anything to do!!

BookTart · 23/07/2015 13:24

All this talk of chips has made me decide on chippy tea tonight Grin

Enjoy your journey altered, sounds hectic!
