Altered Grin

I have given up sleep training too. I got her down from guzzling a whole bottle of milk three times a night to having some water in a bottle once a night, but she's back up to waking 2/3 times again. At least she's only drinking water though. I don't know how to stop her waking up apart from leaving her to cry Sad Shes never slept through so I suppose I'm used to it now.

I've bought an overlocker and it's just been delivered!! So I can get on sewing all professionally and that now Grin I'm excited.

TobyLerone · 06/05/2015 12:52

We have to feed to sleep for naps. At bedtime she goes down in her cot, wide awake and completely happy, we walk out and close the door and she goes to sleep happy as anything. Why she won't do that in the day is anyone's guess.

FelixFelix · 06/05/2015 13:36

Toby that is utterly bizarre.

TobyLerone · 07/05/2015 09:46

I know. I don't really want to mess with it because she goes to bed like an angel and has taken to sleeping through til about 5am most nights. So pinned to the sofa for a couple of hours a day it is. Only trouble is, I'm almost finished Dexter :(

Naturegirl82 · 07/05/2015 10:00

O didn't go to sleep until 1am last night! I really wish I knew why she has nights like this! Sad

FelixFelix · 07/05/2015 12:09

Toby I didn't even realise she was asleep on you! That's even more bizarre then. I wouldn't mess with it either if she's sleeping well at night.

We have just been to play group and to vote afterwards Smile

Naturegirl82 · 07/05/2015 15:27

Hmm O had a 3 hour sleep today! Wonder what that bodes for tonight!

FelixFelix · 07/05/2015 16:02

Nature S had a 3 hour nap too! Very weird.

alteredimages · 07/05/2015 17:11

N usually has a 3 hour nap but today only managed 20 mins as we went to see MIL as she has just gone into hospital for a knee replacement in the morning.

He is being weird and grumpy. He keeps going to the fridge and taking food out and making the sound for eating, then not eating it.

Any other LOs been off their food a bit? He whines and whines and then doesn't eat. This is a novelty to me as DD would hardly eat at all until she was about 2.

I am very very excited about the election. I suspect I will be disappointed when the results are in, but I always get like this about elections.

Naturegirl82 · 07/05/2015 17:45

altered O only ever goes off food when she is ill. Other than that she is like a human dustbin!

I've just been and voted. Made me feel quite emotional- putting that solely down to pregnancy hormones! haha!

GunShotResidue · 07/05/2015 18:19

L slept for ages as well. Maybe they're all planning to stay up to watch the election resultsConfused

We've just been to vote, DH decided to let L walk as it's less than half a mile but it took ages. He carried her on the way back!

TobyLerone · 08/05/2015 15:17

M was up at 5am and has had 2 naps already. Now I'm bored and the sun's gone in :(

FelixFelix · 08/05/2015 15:32

I'm bored too. I've done all the housework and packed our stuff as we are going to visit the PIL's for the weekend. S had another 3 hour nap today. I'd love it to become a regular thing. I could get so much sewing done in 3 hours!

alteredimages · 08/05/2015 23:57

Three hour naps are great Felix until it is 11pm and the TB is still running round the sitting room and trying to launch himself off the sofa.

N is a bit ill I think. Runny nose, nasty cough and a bit wheezy. I hope we don't have to use the nebuliser again. Sad

DD is back to school on Sunday after two weeks off and I can't wait! We didn't get out as much as we should have and are both ready for a break.

Hope you all have sunny and enjoyable weekends.

TobyLerone · 09/05/2015 10:10

Poor N. Hope he's better soon.

It's lovely here. We're going out to a local farm shop/café place for cake later. Tomorrow we're going to the rare breeds centre. Watch it rain now.

FelixFelix · 09/05/2015 11:05

Hope N is better soon!

Toby is pissing it down here. It's not stopped since midday yesterday and it's miserable.

I think S is teething. She slept so badly last night (possibly because she was in the travel cot at MIL's too) and just kept screaming on and off. Maybe tooth number 6 will make an appearance soon Grin

TobyLerone · 09/05/2015 11:07

It's clouded over :(

FelixFelix · 09/05/2015 11:43

NOOOOOOOO!

alteredimages · 09/05/2015 15:03

Wishing the clouds away Toby. It sounds like you have a nice weekend lined up, if only the weather cooperates.

If I could send over some sun from here, I would. It is too hot and our a/c in the sitting room is broken. N is a bit sticky and has been asking to go to sleep today. Smile

Hope S sleeps better tonight Felix. N hates travel cots too, he will not sleep in them at all.

Angelesque · 10/05/2015 08:21

Finally had the first decent night's sleep I've had in two months... Nine hours! I feel like I'm on crack... Bouncing off the walls and excited about the day!

After Thu/Fri's excitement, I'm also considering joining the lib dems. I've never joined a political party before, but I really wanted the coalition again and am a bit scared of Cameron/Osborne being allowed to run unchecked...

Swannykazoo · 11/05/2015 10:05

Oh god. DH came home from his work trip with the lurgy on Thursday. Too poorly to do anything Hmm and I've been oncall over weekend. Felt grim last night and hurray - he's given me the lurgy too.
Am really worried H will get it which would be a nightmare. We're also off on holiday on Sunday so need strength and wit to pack for me and H.

FelixFelix · 11/05/2015 12:27

Awful Puggle! Hope everyone recovers in time for your holiday.

alteredimages · 11/05/2015 13:38

That sounds horrible puggle. Hope you are better soon and H escapes it. Sunday is still almost a week away.

Are mealtimes with all of you as bad as here? Everything goes everywhere and as he will no longer be fed and has developed an aversion to finger foods (except cake of course) it is getting ridiculous.

TobyLerone · 11/05/2015 17:17

Re mealtimes, I read this article recently. This is exactly what we've always done all along, and it was nice to read that we might be doing something right!

Thanks for that article Toby, it is great.

I am not too fussed about him eating everything, it is the three baths a day I am getting fed up of.

DD was a nightmare with eating so N is easy in comparison. Here in Egypt a mother's primary role is to ensure her children are fed, with threats and force if necessary. At a recent family gathering I watched a mother running around a garden after her 3 year old pfb with a spoon of fried chicken and rice. Grin

I dearly hope I never become that woman.
