No hangover, but much, much glitter!

50 cards made though, so that's a good job done. Rather a lot of glitter left over. Might be making cards for the next few decades to use it up!

Utopian friend has just moved her DS x 2 to a Montessori school in the US- she thinks it's amazing. I would be interested to hear what you think of your nursery :)

Will report back Maryland, it seems great and really child focussed. My mother, uncles and two cousins went and swear by it..

utopian99 · 30/10/2014 17:52

Awesome card making beasty !

Barbeasty · 30/10/2014 20:05

Well the glitter really is everywhere (aided by DD deliberately smearing it all over herself)- all the carpets have a shimmer, DD's duvet, the clean washing.....

A threw an awful tantrum this evening. He's completely obsessed with shoes and slippers. He spent ages putting DD's rabbit slippers on, then they would fall off under his duvet. After putting them back on for the 5th time I took them out of the room. Major strop ensued.

PurplePidjin · 30/10/2014 20:53

cards are awesome! it's clearly the day for craft I've just made r some trousers and have found a button to fix another pair when i go up to bed plus Will be crocheting more star Christmas decs...

WL sage advice. Thank you. It's hard. We're both British and have kids, live in Germany, married to Germans. If we lived in the UK I don't know if we'd be good friends. I'd like to be friends; but I can't force it.

Beasty awesome cards!

pidj you are awesomley crafty!

I'm determined I will one day learn to knit, crochet and sew better. But probably not for a while. Not until I actually have time to do it! At the moment going to the toilet or having a shower on my own is a highlight.

Utopian There is a Montessori kindergarten nearby but I've heard mixed reviews Sad. I'll see how he goes at nursery and try to look into what is out there and what it costs

Otherwise I've had a nice day. I was out longer than intended this morning/afternoon. But it was nice to have just DD to look after.

Barbeasty · 30/10/2014 21:20

Thanks. Also made some stars from twigs and made some pine cones all sparkly.

Then DD used as much glitter as she could doing a couple of pictures. Plus a serious discussion about how only father christmas' reindeer eat glitter (to help them fly) and other deer don't. After telling her that's why we put glitter in reindeer food, I didn't want her trying to feed it to other animals and watch them fly!!

Crochet stars sound lovely.

T is currently obsessed with slippers too! She had an almighty tantrum today after refusing reigns (which she usually loves) or to hold my hand, she ran out into the road. Luckily it was only off our drive into our quiet close but it's a zero tolerance rule so she was immediately strapped into the pushchair. She cried all the way to the supermarket, all the way round the supermarket and all the way to the park. Poor little soul is obviously feeling really rotten but man it's been a hard day - my back is aching from carrying her so much. I'm feeling unnecessarily stressed about going away for the weekend tomorrow. We're only going 2 hours away, in a caravan, for 3 nights, but we're not in any way ready and I know the dds will be excited in the morning so will rather hinder progress! Bloody nit combing takes an hour and a half for the dds - found a few more eggs today so clearly more work to be done and just remembered I haven't done me today. Wine and jam tarts are the answer.

WLmum · 30/10/2014 21:32

Ah all the Xmas crafts are making me all warm and fuzzy! Loving the twig star idea. Yesterday I set up for dm to do with dds while I was at work a giant tree picture - length of lining paper, array of paints for dds to mix to a shade of brown, and green. Then sent them out leaf collecting to do rubbings to cut out and glue to the tree. It's stuck up on a door and looks great - particularly since DH drew 3 great squirrels to stick on.

WLmum · 30/10/2014 23:03

Poor buba T has just been sick. I didn't hear her coughing loads beforehand so maybe caused by her temp. I might see if I can get a dr apt before we go tom - I think it's just a rotten cold but last time I said it was just a virus it was scarlet fever, she was really poorly and I took her camping!

PurplePidjin · 30/10/2014 23:48

ok so i ditched the stars and made myself a red riding hood to go with r's wolf... i really need to go to sleep now...

WL i hope T is ok and that the Dr helps you so that you can go on your holiday and have a nice time.

I am loving reading about everyones crafty daysGrin

I am still up as i have been carving a pumpkin and making pumpkin soup. Hopefully that will make a nice tea tomorrow.

MaMaPo · 31/10/2014 02:44

I made scones! Is that crafty enough?

I have been reluctant to let C take more than just her cuddle monkey to bed for fear that she's stay awake playing, but I just let her take a teddy as well and she zonked!

Weekend at the beach - 4 days away coming up! Bliss!

PurplePidjin · 31/10/2014 11:58

Scones are well crafty :o

I ran out of red so put a couple of rows of cream on the end. My hood looks more like a santa bonnet than a red riding one Hmm

Starting our weekend away by joining a traffic jam on the a3. Boo. T was chirpy this morning until she got tired so fx she's on the mend.

PurplePidjin · 31/10/2014 17:04

Yikes WL hope you've arrived safely now?

R's new word is Uncle - except it comes out as Cuggle

Have a good weekend WL

Pidj makes it a year - round hat!

I've made the red cabbage for Christmas, and most of a bauble wreath. Typically DD is so tired she's going to miss most of Halloween- she's been planning this since last November!

Barbeasty · 31/10/2014 19:19

DD is staying at MIL's, so we're having take 3 of trying A out of the cot.

He settled in DD's bed (easy option, keep sides on his cot so we can put him in if it doesn't work), but got out after 5 minutes and he doesn't like sleeping in there. Same happened the first time we tried.

So DH is taking the side off his cot now. About 50-50 whether it goes back on later!

MrsNutsandBolts · 31/10/2014 22:36

DS managed to fall last night and bite through just under his lip. It's only a small hole so no stitches or anything that they can do for him. We weren't certain he'd bitten all the way through and since he had a dr's appointment today anyway we left it. Dr confirmed that yes, it's all the way through. DS is fine but I feel terrible! Poor little man was so brave and let me look. I wanted to cuddle him but I had DD strapped to me so it wasn't easy. So glad DH was also there. even if he was sitting right next to him when it happened

I'm wondering if it's time to start DS with a duvet... Or maybe a pillow to start with...

halestone · 31/10/2014 23:44

Nuts we've asked my dad to buy H a duvet cover for christmas.

Mama i agree they sound crafty.

Pidj that does sound cute.

Beasty how did it go with the cot sides?

WL hope you have a lovely time.

We had a very last minute Halloween party, with close family. I managed to cook all the food in less than an 1.5hours. DP was like an excited kid as he brought fireworks so he let them off in the back garden as i cuddled a very upset H in the living room. So no firework shows for use next week Sad

halestone · 31/10/2014 23:45

Nuts i forgot to say hope DSs lip is ok Thanks

MaMaPo · 01/11/2014 04:33

Ouch, sore lip!

Im interested in the transitioning from cot news! C is still such a little girl in so many ways - she is firmly still in a cot with the sides up and she never tries to get out so we haven't had to think about moving. She is also a real wrigglepuss so I can't imagine her with a pillow or duvet. We have a fit which extends to a toddler bed so it will be easy to transition her when it's time unless we need to use the cot for baby number 2, that is!

We're at our friends' beach house, c is napping, we've prepared dinner and we've both sat here with a cup of tea reading, while we wait for them to arrive. What bliss! And the sun is out even though it was hailing 10 minutes ago

SpottyTeacakes · 01/11/2014 06:39

Ouch Nutella!

Ds has a duvet and pillow as he kept getting out of his sleeping bag and he loves it. He's still in his cot though and will be for a while yet!

WL hope you have a great time. Traffic with small ones is no fun!

Two nights of the gro clock so far. Yesterday ds woke forty minutes before the sun but I settled him and they both stayed quiet until it came up. This morning was ten past. So it's working well!
