A brief squeak needing a kiss and cuddle at five then he slept til 9. The bad nights have clearly taken their toll on him too. A couple of wee red spots on his back but no dot to dot yet?

PurplePidjin · 14/05/2014 12:09

R was twitchy from bedtime till about 10:30, but for once didn't actually wake - so nappy change was 5:30am and he went through till 9 :o

I officially declare it Thankful Thursday to finish off the Fred

Today I am thankful that yesterday I bumped into a mum I first met when her dd was teeny at the park (dd is now 1). She's been a bit stuck for things to do so I gave her my number and we met at playgroup this morning, and I introduced her to another friend who's ds is the same age as R. 2nd friend is also friends with several other mums with toddlers (all except me have English as a 2nd language, as does the new mum) so that was a very fortunate coincidence as hopefully the New Mum (as it were) can join the "group" (a loose term really, we just chat at toddler groups!!) because I think she's been feeling a bit isolated :o And Wine for those that understood my little ramble there Wink

PetiteRaleuse · 14/05/2014 12:46

Isn't it Wednesday though?

So we should all be sweary fuckers ranting away to our hearts' content.

PurplePidjin · 14/05/2014 12:58

Yeah, i just realised that. Twat (me)

YellowWellies · 14/05/2014 13:14

Combine the two? I'm vair f*cking thankful for more bolloxing freelance, some bastard awesome sleep last night and a twatting great bowl of Mac n cheese for lunch!

Zamboni · 14/05/2014 13:31

That was nice PP.

I'm very fucking thankful for our resident CMPI expert YW. DH has just got back from S's follow up apt with the paed about his cough. DH handed back the nebuliser, S has been discharged and they are v happy with his breathing/chest and we were able to report that he hasnt coughed for weeks. Now, this could be entirely coincidental or it could be that we have very dramatically cut dairy and that has had a significant impact. Would never have even considered it but for those of you who have had issues to a greater or lesser extent. Thanks

We're not dariy free but no yoghurts, ice cream, cream or butter eaten in our house now, S drinks Oatly (and calls it milk), and has the odd bit of cheese (like on a pizza). He's not dairy free at nursery but they don't give him cows milk to drink and he copes with all this perfectly well. At some stage I will reintorduce yoghurt or whatever but we manage without it so I think we'll stick with what works for now. We do have a serious jelly addiction though - if S wants jelly he goes to the fridge, shouts wibble wibble and makes a wobbling movement by clasping his hands in front of him and wobbling his torso from side to side with gusto. Grin

Waves to donna, kyz and everyone else only able to pop in from time to time, like me.

stunt glad you had a better day.

I'm currently trying to ignore the little voice in my head demanding chocolate as a reward for saying no thanks to a Cake sale of lovely homemade Cake baked in aid of a charity. Diet logic rules, huh?

ChasingDaisy · 14/05/2014 14:30

Grin At the jelly Zamboni. That's brilliant. O is currently obsessed with his toy car. Which he calls a truck. He has just learned how to say truck and woke at 6am shouting it. He has barely stopped since...

StuntNun · 14/05/2014 14:55

My non-talking baby just said 'See you later' to Thomas the Tank Engine! Actually he said 'Die-die see you later' but I'm assuming die-die means bye-bye and not that he's a Dexter wannabe.

Yay for first words!

Looks like my freelance work should be starting up again very soon. With our holiday and the kids being off I've not really been looking for stuff.

DH unlikely to be home again before midnight. So much for work/family balance. Oh well. Should sort itself out.

In my mission to say yes to invitations I am going to see one of the creche mums for coffee tomorrow morning. Get me!

Am also going to be sending out invites for various bbqs soon. Two sets of overnight guests in the next month too.

PurplePidjin · 14/05/2014 17:39

Sounds busy PR

Stunt that's impressive! R still only just manages "Birdie" and a bit of belated waving with a Ba Ba Hmm

Lily311 · 14/05/2014 18:00

Hello quiche,
Am a bit busy revising, exam is in 3 weeks. Also sorting out things, booked my return ticket from uk but still need to sort out insurance and transfer (and presents).
Also had a meeting with the management of the building and they agreed to build a playground in the garden. However I have to give them quotes and sort out the legal things so did my research today. Will try to see some retailers this week and get it sorted by the summer. I'm so happy as it's a huge development but no playground within the gates.
I am sitting on sofa now eating frozen grapes instead of ice cream. Yum yum

Lily311 · 14/05/2014 18:03

stunt pls ask for help, you are doing well but you need some respite. Yey for first words
pr you go girl! say yes to everything
chasing a truck is nearly a car.

ValiumQueen · 14/05/2014 18:29

Fanjo weights GT Grin sounds like fun. DH has kindly offered to insert things that I can practice on, but the cough is so strong I think any muscles would be challenged. Usually I am ok.

I am doing pretty well considering I have been up since 2, but I will be glad to get to my bed.

flouncymcflouncerson · 14/05/2014 18:37

I've eventually got an appt with the urogyn. Not til June tho but I've waited this long and since we are away for a fortnight there's not kick chance for them to fit me in before we go. She did call and ask if we had holidays booked.

I've been to gym with my mum today. Starting to enjoy it actually and I'm just about to leave to go swimming with my sister. Hoping I don't ruin all my good work when we're away!

YellowWellies · 14/05/2014 19:00

Can I commend to the quiche the new MN cookbook. The recipe for broccoli fritters has finally persuaded Jonas that broccoli is a foodstuff. Grin

We spent the day hanging out with his spotty buddies.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/05/2014 19:10

I tested one or two of the recipes for that book. I particularly remember a disgusting chicken pie using ready made bread sauce. Did that one make it into the book? I wasn't very nice about it. Tried it a second time with homeMade bread sauce and it wasn't much better.

YellowWellies · 14/05/2014 19:53

PR I've not spotted it. Though I've skimmed past anything with dairy to be honest.

Lily311 · 14/05/2014 20:00

Shall we kill the thread before I go to sleep?

Lily311 · 14/05/2014 20:00

Storm outside, I'm shit scared

Lily311 · 14/05/2014 20:01

Olivia said today 'give it to me ' in Hungarian. I told her to say please. She said pls. Mind blown.

Lily311 · 14/05/2014 20:02

She also asked me to read the gruffalo's child and than the gruffalo after. Than my friend bear, that's my teddy and the third book in that series. It really annoys me that she doesn't want them in order.

Lily311 · 14/05/2014 20:03

Come on ladies, I need a stabbing friend

Lily311 · 14/05/2014 20:04

I'm addicted to the 2048 game. Anyone else?

Lily311 · 14/05/2014 20:04

wanda are you there?

Lily311 · 14/05/2014 20:04
