J had bloody diarrhoea this morning Hmm what is up with that? I'm 100% sure he hasn't had any dairy or egg for weeks. I'm trying to work up the courage to phone the HV this morning to ask to be referred to Social Services. I can't manage any longer and it's getting worse not better. I'm hoping they might be able to offer some respite care or something.

Get to the GP Stunt, for you and J. Please. And big big hugs xxx

I find the best thing for TTC is getting pissed as a skunk, like YW Wink and also joining a gym and paying for a year with a clause saying it is non refundable. Smile Good luck Pikz, and others TTC x

Pikz · 13/05/2014 09:34

Stunt as mummy VQ says to the GP. Massive massive hugs.

My trick last time (along with two ops) was to buy a TT and of course found out the day after I collected it! As DP said this was a very expensive fertility treatment!!!

StuntNun · 13/05/2014 09:54

He's been to the GP three times in the last six weeks. They have prescribed Neocate and Omeprazole which seems like a reasonable initial management strategy. He has been bumped up to urgent with the paediatrician so he supposedly gets seen a bit quicker. But between J and DS1 I've already got so much on my plate that DS2 is getting squeezed out and he's been getting very anxious lately. DH coming home and shouting at everyone isn't helping either. DS1 has autism and ADHD and at age 11 he might be old enough to accept some kind of respite care. I have a friend who does respite care for two children with special needs, just a few days every couple of months.

Bless you stunt, I do not know how you (and vq) are still going - we have had it tough but with only 1 child, so to juggle all 3 on no sleep must be beyond challenging. I would be back at the gp if he now has bloody diarrhoea - would it be the worst thing in the world if J was admitted? Would get seen v quickly then.

YW I hope J is ok. If it is pox, he will be at his most contagious when the blisters appear, as they are full of viral particles.

Zero patience today, between the hours of 11 and 5 his is what happened.

12.00 F wakes and needs settling
1.00 Pussypig decides he feels better and that 1am is the perfect time to perfect his pouncing technique. On me Hmm
1.10 Pussypig is removed from the bedroom
1.40 Dh comes to bed, expresses surprise that I am awake
2.30 Dh snoring
3.30 Dh snoring
4.40 F awake
5.40 F finally nods back off again
7.10 The day begins.

And dh wonders why I was the teeniest bit snappy Hmm Angry Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 13/05/2014 10:26

Hugs quichewide.

I would also go to the GP stunt for both of you. I don't know how social services work over there but I assume they are there to help people who aren't coping. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to have a chat with them.

Wandathewindfairy · 13/05/2014 10:39

Haven't caught up this morning so far, but after a bit of advice.

As I will be leaving work I need to get myself my own phone.

I have never had my own phone Shock

I know nothing.

I know I want an I phone as I have an iPad and DH has an I phone and an I pad and my friends do mostly too.

Other than that how should I do it? Any tips on how to get the best deal?

StuntNun · 13/05/2014 10:44

Wanda do you know if there is good reception in your area? We don't get a good signal for any network here but it could be that one network is better than another for you. Each provider has a section of their website that tells you what kind of signal you should get or you can just ask visitors to your house how many bars they get. I used BillMonitor to find the cheapest deal. It's always worth trying to negotiate a better price, especially if you're on the phone or instore. DH managed to knock £8 off the monthly cost of my phone just by umming and ahhing until they brought the price down.

Brilliant thanks stunt that is v helpful. I think there are some providers that are better here than others. The one my work phone uses seems to be ok, I never seem to have problems. I must check what it is as it has changed over the years. DHS reception seems ok too, so I should check what his is.

Just a disclaimer, I know my post above suggested I had friends. This is a red herring. I don't really have very many friends and of that handful, the two I talk to most have iPads/phones.

stunt I am distraught for you. When you spoke to the gp in the last visits did you actually say you couldn't cope? Or did you say that J wasn't right? I think a lot we wait for people to notice and pick up on it instead of being open. Go back to the gp and say you can't cope and say that you need a break. If your DH was up for having two of the boys you are very welcome to just escape down here for a couple of days with one boy, it sounds like they would all benefit with some one to one for different reasons and it might be refreshing for you. Sit on the beach and be looked after. Anyway the offers is very much there and an open invitation.

stunt when js sleep was ridiculous and he wasn't eating either he got A funded nursery place for two 2.5hrd when week. It helped mE massively as I dropped him and dd off and came home to sleep. Is that an option? Then when the other two are at school you'd have a proper break. There must be things out there. Please ask.

flouncymcflouncerson · 13/05/2014 12:08

Oh and it was my HV who arranged it

YellowWellies · 13/05/2014 12:21

No spa he's just too sad and poorly to leave him - he just wants cuddles. Cuddles are definitely in the Mummy job description. I'm not a martyr but my mum didn't f*ck off on spa days when I had chicken pox - I couldn't leave him he deserves better than that.

Spots have started to appear in his mouth and throat. But so far nowhere else. I'm now worrying that his constant cough (think 5-10 coughs a minute, every minute Sad ) and wheeziness means he's got pox in his throat and lungs?

PetiteRaleuse · 13/05/2014 12:34

Is that possible yw ?

Might it not be something like hand foot and mouth? When DD1 had her herpangina (basically the mouth part of HF&M) she had a sore throat and cough too.

YellowWellies · 13/05/2014 14:53

Been to docs definitely looking like chicken pox and if his cough persists we're to go to hospital as it could be on his lungs. God you'd feel shit if that happened after sending them to a pox party eh? Turns out, like measles, CP can have nasty complications.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/05/2014 16:05

Crap I didn't know that was possible. Well I know complications were possible but not that it could just be on the inside. Poor little thing.

I thought pox parties were an American sitcom myth. Do they actually happen? That's pretty shocking.

Wandathewindfairy · 13/05/2014 16:23

That is pants yw poor old bear. He is going to be rubbish for about a week but hopefully he fights it like a trooper. I am sure he will.

Remember that there can be worse complications from cp the older we get though and actually a v bad dose of it now could boost his immunity no end. DD 2 got it very mildly when she was about 4 then ended up with shingles when she was about 6. You might remember there is some concern that the shingles has damaged her hearing. Luckily all of mine have had it now but I have a shingles radar now!!!

PetiteRaleuse · 13/05/2014 16:49

Fucking mmrv booster reactions. Better than last time but still. Oh well. No more jabs for years.

Called paed today as school said DD1 needed BCG. Turns out she doesn't. Pead 100% sure it is no longer necessary in France or Lux and basically told me to tell the school to do one if they cause any grief over it.

ValiumQueen · 13/05/2014 17:59

Poor little Bear Hmm it doesn't sound like the pox though, but time will tell. My girls both had it in the mouth, with a cough also, but had it on the body first.

I have been on a training course for the last couple of days. The man leading it was Wink

YellowWellies · 13/05/2014 18:10

Well his three pals he played with three days last week all have it so I'd be very surprised if its not but something entirely different? Doc said it wasn't HFM. We shall see I guess - it looks like there are spots appearing on his torso. Doc said its less common but not unusual for spots to appear in mouths, ears and throats first.

ValiumQueen · 13/05/2014 20:16

Can you play dot to dot yet YW?

ValiumQueen · 13/05/2014 20:48

Where is everyone?

YellowWellies · 13/05/2014 20:57

He's in bed. First time this early since he became ill on Friday - does this bode the arrival of spots?

flouncymcflouncerson · 13/05/2014 20:59

I'm here.

MsJupiter · 13/05/2014 21:05

I'm here, waiting for the boy to drop off. Bedtimes have returned to former nightmare status over the last few weeks with hours of screaming etc.

However in joyful news he has not hit, scratched or punched me once today, even at bedtime, which has made the evening far more copeable with.
