Cupcakes is there any way your dh or your mum can take him at the time he has his afternoon feed for a few days in a row, so your supply will go back down? You could pump a tiny bit to make sure you don't get blocked ducts again.

glorious · 06/02/2014 13:08

cupcakes on self settling I kept E awake on her bedtime feed by reading to her and then put her down awake. So rather than reducing the feed I stopped her from sleeping. The first time she was a bit annoyed but after that she's been fine. It hasn't helped though, except she settles more quickly.

BuntyCollocks · 06/02/2014 17:25

The cake has been started! Shock

Bunty you're making me want to eat cake now! I've put a picture of DS' cake on my profile just in case you need inspiration. It's not brilliant, but he seemed to like it.

Mrsbug unfortunately my DH works full time (and often weekends) and my mum is recovering from knee surgery so can't really manage DS on her own at the moment. The first time I dropped the feed I managed with a combination of sheer will-power and timing it so that DH could be home and / or mum could take him for ten minutes to calm him down. I did manage to not feed him this afternoon, but he got so worked up he wouldn't nap. He was so tired this evening he fell asleep on DH without having his feed so DH put him in his cot and he's still there so far. Oddly my boobs don't feel full like they did last time I cut out the afternoon feed so perhaps he hasn't re-established the supply as much as I had thought.

DS had his immunisations this afternoon. I was a nervous wreck but when the time came he barely flinched! Fingers crossed he doesn't get a reaction. I've got about a week before it's likely to happen, haven't I?

Pascha · 06/02/2014 21:11

Lora1982 · 06/02/2014 22:38

Feel like asking dp to go to his mums. Im sick of him complaining and not helping. Today we were all ill squitz and sick. Except he came back from work early and stayed in bed. He said but im il!... yes twat I am too but I still have to do everything without any help. Last straw I put dexter bed for the millionth time and he was crying in his cot. D fukin p went loo and straight back bed ignoring him. I could handle doing it all myself if he wasnt here. Its the doing it all myself while he sits around on his pc or goes bed thats sending me into a fruit loop. Im really on the edge and I dont know what to do

BuntyCollocks · 06/02/2014 23:24

lora I'd send him, even if it's just to get some space to figure things out. That would drive me mad, too.

Cake for those who're interested!

Wow Bunty cake looks amazing, well done you!Grin

Lora, sorry DH is being such a prick. But will his mum just wait on him? If so it will prob be like a little holiday for him. AngryAngry. My DH is generally very good but can get wrapped up in his little world sometimes, but I just ask order now. Do you spend anytime just the two of you? Maybe you could go out for dinner and have a talk away from home about what you need from him etc etc.

Hope things get better for you, my DH and I went through a horrible time after DD1 but managed to work through it.

Good news here, DH has new job in the UK yippee no Far East for now GrinGrin

Been looking at nurseries for DD2, don't want her to start until Jan 15 but places get booked up. Hopefully she will go to DD1 school nursery in 2016 but want her to start going two days a week to get her used to the concept.

Off out to dinner with mum friends tonight, although not feeling great. will obviously just have to drink more vino for medicinal purposesWink

BuntyCollocks · 07/02/2014 15:52

Daniel keeps scuttling behind the sofa arm and sticking his head round the corner waiting for me to shout peepo! Grin They are so cute at this age.

Brilliant news for MrLost Congratulations on the job.

DS1 also starts school in Sept 2015. Scary isn't it?

AppleCrumples · 07/02/2014 21:55

pascha thats so cute. They are funny at this age. Ivy has started doing a funny dance when the others put music on. Dp likes to make her look for her beloved bunny just because she does as shes told and goes off to get it! :)

Well done on the new job mrlost

lora sorry your having such a hard time. i don't know what to suggest but Flowers

Nevermind reception in 2015..ds1"will be going up to secondary school eeeeeek!!!

Ivy has now decided no one can feed her. She gets quite annoyed when i try to spoon feed her so something gets in. Am giving her a spoon and trying to sneak food in when shes not looking. Shes getting better at it though...think some actuallywent in earlier Grin

Right off to look at that cake...

AppleCrumples · 07/02/2014 21:58

Wow bunty. Thats gorgous Well done!

happyhow · 07/02/2014 23:06

That cake is brilliant, bunty!

Don't really know what to suggest either, Lora, but not sure I could've put up with that for this long.

Well done Mr Lost!

Hubby in Edinburgh for the weekend. His best man is over from America so he's spending tonight and Sunday with him and has hospitality at the rugby tomorrow with work. Wish I could've been there too but just me and B Bob til Sun.

I can hear banging from Bailey's room - god knows what he is up to...

meringuesnowflakes33 · 08/02/2014 08:16

Aw cute my son does that too Pascha! He loves hiding though keeps getting stuck under the bed.

Apples he has only just learned to give the spoon back after each mouthful, rather than throw it on the floor. I think they must have taught him this at nursery. Muggins here just sat down for each meal with a collection of about ten spoons.

Yesterday he had homemade pizza and each piece I gave him, he peeled the topping off, ate it, then threw the base in the floor Hmm.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 08/02/2014 11:22

meringue same here! DS only gained spoon manners after starting nursery.

Bunty the cake is amazing! Can I book you to do DS' next year?

DH asked me to me to make some chocolate chip cookies today. I was happy to oblige, until I went to the baking cupboard to discover that somebody has eaten all of the chocolate chips. Since DS can't reach the cupboard, and I know it wasn't me, that only leaves one suspect. Surely he must have realised this would be an issue when he asked me to make the cookies? Hmm

DS is currently playing with a mop. He cries if I try to take it away from him, but is currently stuck in the doorway.

CreepyCrawly · 08/02/2014 12:05

My child cannot yet walk, but she can 'scoot' using her wooden trolley thingy Hmm

Your cake looks great bunty! Well done.

Congratulations mr lost!

cupcakes, your whole post made me laugh. Bet DH was thinking 'shit shit shit' as soon as the words came out Grin

Off to a party today, and another party tomorrow.

BuntyCollocks · 08/02/2014 12:38

Thanks everyone! T-minus three hours. Everything is done I can do for now. I have 15 mins to set up when we get there. Hmm

apples I love a wee jigger! How cute!

Dan sounds so cute, pascha! I don't think there's an age I've met that's not cute so far, but every time they do something new, I'm all "OMG this age is BRILLIANT!"

C likes to pick the filling out of sandwiches then horse the rest to the floor, meringue - lovely children Wink

Haha, sure cupcakes might have to be a gruffalo, though, so get reading those books so he develops the love! Silly DH, doesn't he know? There's no such thing as a gruffalo cookies without choc chips.

Enjoy the parties, creepy!

No chance to catch up on the thread but just a quick post to say glorious cupcakes made with this recipe are in the oven now (cooking time will be 20-30 mins):

Egg and dairy free carrot and banana cake
2 cups of flour?
2 cups of grated carrots?
1/2 cup golden raisins?
1 tsp of baking soda
Mix all of the above in a big bowl.
2 big ripe bananas- peel, mash and beat until fluffy?
1/2 cup oil?
1/2 cup to 1 cup of brown sugar
In another big bowl, mix them well.
Preheat the oven to 175C. Meanwhile fold the wet ingredients into dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly but not hard.
Add some rice milk and combine again if the batter is too tight. Pour this mixture into a big round buttered cake pan. Bake the cake for about 30 to 45 minutes.

I made DD1's first birthday cake with it, and it's an easy safe recipe I keep going back to Grin

glorious · 09/02/2014 09:19

angielka those look great, thanks! Will give them a go.

I can attest that Daniel is indeed cute Smile
