applepieinthesky · 28/01/2014 18:33

congrats donna Thanks no name yet? Can't wait to see a pic x

Well done on the job pp

My brother's gf got a new job today too. She has been looking for ages so I'm really pleased for her. She already has a job at our local hospital but they treat her like absolute crap.

DP's mobile was supposed to be delivered between 1 and 5 this afternoon so I haven't been anywhere all day in case I missed it. It came at 4.50 Hmm

Lily311 · 28/01/2014 18:38

Congratulations donna!!

gt it's time to show those honeymooners the power of the quiche. But we need to get a crèche/nursery for the kids.

ValiumQueen · 28/01/2014 18:38

Congratulations Donna Thanks

ChasingDaisy · 28/01/2014 18:46

Congratulations Donna! Wonderful news Thanks

Let's invade honeymoon paradise - it might put the newlyweds off having kids Grin

Had a driving lesson today - was very nervous as last week's was a nightmare think almost driving into oncoming traffic but it actually went really well, so I have my confidence back. Theory test next week Confused

FatimaLovesBread · 28/01/2014 18:50

Congratulations Donna Thanks

Isles What's with the poem on your FB? Is he in a good mood today or just trying to look like a fab DP?

ValiumQueen · 28/01/2014 18:57

I was wondering the same thing Fatima. I nearly commented, then thought better.

BigPigLittlePig · 28/01/2014 19:02

Some honeymooners in the Maldives might already be pregnant. Not that I was or anything, er hum.

Donna congratulations! Am so jealous of the newborn cuddly loveliness, enjoy enjoy enjoy. Glad you are both doing well.

Chasing you shouldn't be blushing you silly sod, you should be dead proud of yourself for all you have achieved this year.

I have had a shit day today. Have cried about 3 or 4 times. Basically, in the night, I woke up and checked F who was asleep next to me. She was totally still and icy cold and for a few awful seconds I thought she was dead. It was the worst moment of my life. She is in fact v much alive and full of beans but I haven't been able to shake that split second feeling. Horrible. Sorry if that has brought the mood down, but needed to get it off my chest, as dhs approach is, well she's fine so why are you still stressing?

ChasingDaisy · 28/01/2014 19:31

Oh pig, that must have been awful Sad Just reading it made my blood run cold.

Passmethecrisps · 28/01/2014 19:36

That sounds absolutely awful bp. I would feel just like you about it. She is fine but it's like your heart gets a wee glimpse of what might have been and can't quite let it go. I hope you feel better very soon.

Wonderful news donna!

I would go anywhere gt! If I had peace and quiet and you lot for company then I would be grand.

chasing you put that beautifully.

How are you isles? Lots on your mind.

Lily311 · 28/01/2014 19:37

bplp I used to have fears like that! they are getting less frequent now. Apparently it's normal. Well I don't feel nomal when sobbing. ((Hugs))

StormyIsles · 28/01/2014 19:39

Congrats Donna!!

Big hugs bplp I have nightmares about this all the timeHmm

Chasing I hear you xx

Poem? Yeah I don't know wtf that was all about. It was cringey. And several friends have a texted me similar wtf is he on? messages. 10/10 for trying, shame he pissed me off within 5 mins of being home Angry

ValiumQueen · 28/01/2014 19:52

BP I have done that with all three of mine, and woken them to check, then regretted it. I found it happened after they had been ill and finally are a normal temp again, which feels very cold in the middle of the night, and their breathing being normal and quiet again just adds to the terror. I found it hardest with my first, imagining funerals etc. It is perfectly normal, so long as it does not become an every day life crippling thing. It shows just how much we love the little rascals x

ValiumQueen · 28/01/2014 19:56

And Stunt, poor Dad! Ouch!

Great news for MIL today at the oncologist. Her levels are now within normal limits and the tumours have not grown at all so no need for treatment at the moment. She will be scanned every 10 weeks apparently and if they show signs of growth, then she will have chemo, if not then just leave as is.

Evilwater · 28/01/2014 19:56

Oh big, massive hugs.
Isles [cuppa]

Today has gone a better, but tonight he has a slight wheeze. I'm not sure what to do next, no temp as of yet this evening.

Sophiathestormfairy · 28/01/2014 20:05

Congrats donna lovely news

Horrible bp that would have left me upset all day. Xx

Face palm stormy wtf. Confused

stunt sympathise with your dad, it was my sacrum that DS1s birth fucked up. Was awful. For months. Lots and lots of physio sorted it, mine was twisted. Makes me shiver thinking of it. Couldn't stand, couldn't sit except for on a heat pad and was agony moving between the two. My poor old botto.

Sophiathestormfairy · 28/01/2014 20:15

M

ChasingDaisy · 28/01/2014 20:27

Oh yes, stunt, sympathies to your dad. I have issues with my sacrum- have done since birth (mine not O's) but since pregnancy I have been in pain every day. I meant to ask quiche advice about this actually: I am having to take ibuprofen every day to control the pain. Is this safe?

StuntNun · 28/01/2014 20:34

Congrats Donna! Enjoy your newborn squishy cuddles!

Well done PP I'm sure a bit of extra work will be welcome.

Pig my DS2 has had a couple of near misses and I know just what you mean. Once he choked on a 20p and I accidentally saved his life doing the Heimlich manoeuvre, for days afterwards I had this eerie feeling that he should have been dead. I will never get over that experience, it still haunts me years later.

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/01/2014 20:44

Donna That's fabulous news. Huge congratulations. Look forward to hearing further details when you're up to it.

stunt Sorry about your dad but yay for peace.

bplp Shit, sounds horrible. No wonder you feel the way you do. Scary stuff.

Well this afternoon I finally got the call that we've exchanged contracts. Moving on 17th February. The new house needs a lot everything doing to it but am looking for the positive in that once done it will be exactly how we want it. Taken 18 months to get to this position and hasn't really sunk in yet. It's going to be bloody weird and pretty awful until the work is done. .

Evilwater · 28/01/2014 20:58

Right off to bed early again, N is coughing like a trooper. Bless him, a long night for both of us.

donna congrats! Enjoy.
Evil

BigPigLittlePig · 28/01/2014 21:04

Glad you lot don't think I'm being weirs and emotional. VQ it was totally that, I was imagining her funeral and the songs and everything, and couldn't stop myself doing it. Totally horrid. Little rascal is tucked up inher own bed, temp free, in a sleeping bag instead of just a vest lol. Still hasn't eaten today but she has lots of reserves.

Great news about mil VQ, what a relief she doesn't needchemo.

Woohoo eliza! How exciting! I would always pick a house that is liveable but needs work, love the idea of a wee project.

Isles, loved your "how sweet" retort. Sounded dead genuine Grin.

Glad N is a little better, evil. How did he sleep in the end?

Well done on he job pidj. How was df (presume that was what your trip was for the other day)? When do you think you might be able to see him? And what are the chances of R getting to see him? Questions questions!

Just signed puppy-pig up to dog training classes. She is going to be in doggy heaven at them - lots of people, lots of dogs, big open space (indoor dressage barn thing). She starts next week not a moment too soon
